S1 Ep 506Hot Seat - Apoorva Amaresh
On this episode of The Habit Coach- Hot Seat, we have our listener, Apoorva Amaresh asking Ashdin about how to pick a field, and work in it for rest of our life. The fact that we are supposed to know what to do and where to work only when we are 20-25 years of age is absurd. She also asks how can one experiment in different fields, at the same time fending for themselves? Skills can be learned in theory but practical experiment is required, and to approach companies and people, gain experience in certain fields. We need to realize that the education system has been created for one specific purpose and- to make machine for the workforce. But what we must learn is that the entire system is also to make sure that everybody survives. Change is the only thing which is constant. So one needs to understand that what you are doing now might not stay for a long time. S1 Ep 504Making Money
Did you know that the bureau of engraving and printing produces 8 million notes a day, with a total face value of 541 Million Dollars. But what is interesting is that 95% of the notes being printed will replace the old notes. On this episode of The Habit Coach, Ashdin talks about the Dollar. We don't realize this but there is a constant churn of money taking place, and the way that money is made is fascinating. There is a constant war between the government of the country and the forgers- people making counterfeit notes. We cannot make money, we have to earn money. Earning money is easy if you recognize it as a value exchange, while it can be hard if you think of it as something you deserve, and the world is not being kind for. S1 Ep 503Do The Right Thing
Did you know that some psychologists believed that morals originate from our hormones? This is an interesting theory on the development of our morals. We often believe that morals are learnt from our parents. What is right, what is wrong, caring, kindess... On this Episode of The Habit Coach, Ashdin talks to us about morals and morality. In order to survive and live together we need these hormones to foster caring but we also require rules in society and things that teach us what is right and wrong. Our past is no reflection of our future and we can make different choices starting today, and lead a different life ahead. Ask yourself if this is the right thing to do but don't do it with ulterior motive, instead do it from a place of love. S1 Ep 486Self Help Books Are Useless
Did you know that one of the most successful self-help books of all time was written back in 1937 and it is named 'Think and grow rich' by Napoleon Hill. He interviews the richest industrialists and the Moghuls of his time and identifies the commonality between all of them. In this episode of The Habit Coach, Ashdin talks about self-help books, how as humans we learn at different levels, how habits are a part of our subconscious mind. If you want to make a change in your life you have to change your habits, books are useless if we keep them at an intellectual level. We need to dig deep and allow them to change the way our subconscious thinks. To make the most of the self-help books, start reading them slowly and don't be in a hurry to finish them. Digest them, spend time each day thinking about what you have read, and think about turning whatever you have read into a habit.Tune in to #TheHabitCoach with Ashdin Doctor.Check out the Awesome180 Habit Coach app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.awesome180.habitcoach&hl=en_IN&gl=USYou can follow Ashdin Doctor on Instagram @ashdindoc (https://www.instagram.com/ashdindoc/?hl=en)Check out Ashdin's website - Awesome180 (http://awesome180.com/)Youtube Channel: The Habit Coach - Awesome180: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZQpxuIf7moTOU8kCAu0ZfgYou can listen to this show and other awesome shows on the IVM Podcasts app on Android: https://ivm.today/android or iOS: https://ivm.today/ios, or any other podcast app.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S1 Ep 478Ep. 478: Stop Catastrophizing
Did you know the name catastrophe comes from the Greek word catastraphin? What is interesting about its origin is that the word does not mean that there will be a bad thing that will happen, it just means a sudden change. In this episode of The Habit Coach, Ashdin tells us about how the Greeks play negative endings. We expect something bad is going to happen just because everything is going well. Are we programmed to believe that all things will take a turn for the worse if things are running? We need to realize that we don't live in a movie or a Greek tragedy play. So, our simple habit starts with catastrophizing and asking our self is there any truth to what this positive twist might come out of the situation instead. This and a lot more.
