Ep 106BTS Rules for having balance with your job

It's your chance to have an impact on the podcast! We are currently taking feedback and input from every single one of you to help shape our vision and direction for 2023. If you have 5 minutes to fill out this quick survey, it would be INCREDIBLY appreciated + really helps us plan relevant and needed content. Click here to have your say! Today's episode: Work is one of those things we need for a sense of fulfilment, either personal/growth or financial, yet it can often be the things that destroys our overall sense of being ... that is, if we don't know how to manage and have a balanced relationship with it. Today I have dedicated the last of our Balance Rules series to this area because I feel there is SO much potential in our capabilities when we have a healthy and well defined relationship with work. Does this mean you won't work any overtime? No. Does this mean you won't work hard? No! It's about getting to the core of what you require from a job and knowing when it is taking you away from the other areas of your life. A key skill which I feel, is the make or break for our sense of balance. Share this episode with your mum, sister or a friend if you know they'll love it too! Until next time, Stay Balanced P.S. Today I want to share some of the worst habits a lot of us have, some I still slip into, that are detrimental to our life balance. Some of these are going to sound basic, but if it’s so simple, why do we still keep doing them? The first half relate to our physical health and the second half relate to our mental health. Woven in these are some that also cross over with relationships and work life which is always always underpinned by our health. Ready to see how many you’re currently engaging in? Today’s episode is inspired by a conversation I’ve had with one of you Balancers. Their painpoint? Dealing with the inevitable sacrifices that come with change. Today I share my thoughts on what these sacrifices mean on our journey and path and how to deal with them PLUS a cool morning activity you can do every day (under 1 min) to keep your why/purpose front and centre. S1 Ep 98BTS Things everyone on their self growth journey needs to know

Lately I’ve been speaking with a lot of people who are either quite new on the self growth journey OR are constantly looking for ways to do better for themselves. I think it’s a really useful discussion to flag these things especially for those of you navigating this for the first time and really feeling quite alone. S1 Ep 96BTS If you thrive in busyness but feel guilty for it, this one's for you

This is the literal dilemma I had that prompted me to start this podcast... that is, thriving in busyness and loving being busy, but also feeling guilty for it. So I sat down and reframed what being busy meant, how it made me feel and how to ensure I didn't get swept up in the "busyness" to a point where I neglected my wellness, my wellbeing. And today, I take you exactly through the process I undertook to arrive in a place where I feel confident defending my time & forgetting feeling guilty for how I'm spending it. At times we need to go deeper in our health, or our work, and we don't need to feel guilty or let others make us feel guilty for it. So get ready to OWN it! Let's Balance together. Among some of the incredible topics we dive into today, my favourites include why exercise shouldn't be a chore and how to fix a 'meh' relationship with it, how to enjoy the process and take the pressure of the results, and importantly why something doesn't have to be hard for it to be effective. We also chat about the meaning of self care everyday, rather than using it as a go-to when sh*t hits the fan. S1 Ep 95BTS Why failing is an essential part of any journey

Today I share a replay of a very early episode that I have recently listened back to to help me reframe my feelings with failure. In this episode, I share my thoughts on "beginnings" and their close but common link to "failing". I think the fear of failing, and the emotions associated with 'new beginnings' often prevent people from getting started A LOT more than they should. I share some insights into how we can reframe our understanding and connection to these feelings, and kick beginnings in the butt! S1 Ep 89BTS How to know if your circle is blocking your authentic self

Today I want to use this BTS to dive into the relationship category of balance, which is not one I’ve jumped into much on a solo episode before. When we have ties or relationships that are ‘toxic’ or have an element where something just feels off about them, they can really impinge on our balance, and critically, the way we show up as ourselves. So, in todays’ episode you’re going to hear my thoughts on how to choose relationships that are best for you, which ones to avoid to protect your balance and when you might be blocking yourself from the right people! To help you take action on these principles, you'll find some journal or meditation prompts below - use them however you like to work through the takeaways from today's ep - enjoy! JOURNAL PROMPTS: What value do I want from a relationship/friendship with ______? *Can also be done as a hypothetical if you’re looking for new friends or a new partner i.e. What value do I want from a friendship? What have some past relationships taught be about what I DO NOT want in a relationship/friendship? What values can I see I hold as a result of these? Are my current relationships/friendships allowing me to be my most authentic self? If there are some that are not, why am I holding on to them? Is there other value that can justify my time/energy being involved in this relationship? Can I identify any limiting beliefs I hold about what I deserve or am worthy of that could be influencing my decision to maintain these ‘toxic’ relationships? If yes, can I rewrite them to attract what I do deserve in my life?
