S1 Ep 55MM16 Productivity guilt and how to deal with it
Today I wanted to go deep into something that has been personally frustrating me lately, especially being in lockdown, and something I have spoken to many of you about in my IG DMs. It’s around this idea that we feel guilt when we haven’t utilised our time to the max, or in other words been productive. In a usual routine, non lockdown, Do you ever get that feeling at the end of your day where you just haven’t been that productive? Maybe you haven’t crossed off what you wanted from your todo list, or you actually have done some stuff and feel completely deflated for not having done enough? Well I bet if you feel that sometimes, now during lockdown it’s probably hitting that nerve way harder in a different but somehow familiar way. One thing I’ve personally been struggling with is this idea that I have more time than ever right now, which should give me more time to slow down and relax, but I often feel the complete opposite? Join me as I explore why this is happening, productivity guilt, time anxiety and what you can do about it! Referenced Podcast: Huberman Lab Podcast Episode 39 Until next time, Stay Balanced! Today I am joined by Georgina Claxton, a Physiotherapist with a special interest in Women’s Health, Clinical Pilates Instructor and Sport Scientist. We also did a deep dive into why you are more than just your title, i..e what you do isn't who you are which I LOVE, and is so important to grasp (especially in the context of our balance). S1 Ep 48Simon Roberts on the power of not thinking & 'body' storming
This week I chat to UK author and anthropologist Simon Roberts, about 'the power of not thinking'. This title is NOT what you think! When I picked up the book, I expected tips and tricks on how to shut my mind off, BUT what I got was so much more and a very unique take on our bodies, and now I can share that with you all! Simon and I chat about embodies knowledge and how the way we feel something is more profound than just seeing or hearing it. We question the concept of mind over matter/mind first, and talk about putting the body first as an idea! There are some things, like your intuition, that your body just feels and knows to be true, but you can't explain it! Why don't we put more emphasis on that? I think we're in a culture that prioritises the brain and often forgets to give credit to our bodies too! Simon shares how this concept is not only important for our balance, but also empathy, business strategy decisions and more! We also cover the idea of Body Storming. I know you're going to love this episode! Tag us and let us know what your biggest takeaways were. ALSO if you haven't had a chance to leave a review or rating, it would mean to world to us as an Independent podcast and our growing community.
