Ep 44Enchanting Beauty with Dr. Manisha - 044
Colette chats with Dr Manisha about her new book 'Enchanting Beauty' (Ancient secrets to inner, outer and lasting beauty). They discuss the following: Why did you want to write a book like this? What is your definition of beauty? Can you tell us about the Shakti energy and the importance of this energy for our wellbeing. After many, many years of treating women in your clinical practice, you questioned, like: "why women felt that they were somehow unworthy after menopause", "why women felt vulnerable in relationships", 'why women were so stressed", "what made young ladies have such fear around their appearance and such a lack of self-esteem"….Can you tell us the realisation you had from this reflection? In your book you said that "It is our birthright to experience this profound understanding of beauty, but in a world of so much pretending, masquerading and twisting beauty into something other than what it truly is, we need somewhere to turn to that harbours the truth. And, you went on to say that the first step is …"to begin with, that we need to allow our inner beauty to resurface in our awareness". Can you please explain this important first step? A woman goes through many transitions in her life, can you discuss the importance of these transitions and give some tips for women of all ages going through these different life transitions. Ep 3Ayurvedic doshas and the Seasons - 003
Colette will discuss how the doshas of Vata, Pitta and Kapha appear in each season. We generally think of the seasons as spring, summer, fall and winter, however, Ayurveda teaches us that it's not the calendar but Nature that determines which dosha will be influenced: Vata season is fall/autumn and early winter Pitta season is summer Kapha season is late winter and spring Due to the changes in the seasons, the doshas go through the cycle of accumulation, aggravation and pacification and this can have a big impact on our body and mind due to the Ayurvedic principle of 'like increases like and opposites balance'. Therefore, each person needs to be aware of which season has the same qualities as their predominant dosha. For example, a person who has a high vata constitution will have a tendency to go out of balance in vata season of fall and early winter. During this time, this individual needs to be focused and disciplined in their nutrition and lifestyle in order to stay in balance. In this episode you will learn; Qualities of each season - the affect on the environment and our dosha Imbalances that can occur in each dosha due to accumulation Dietary tips to keep the body/mind in balance during 'your' season Self-care tips for each dosha How to dress for each season Exercise tips for each dosha Tips on how to bring each dosha back into balance and restore health Complete this short questionnaire to receive a FREE 15 min online consultation If you enjoyed the content, please subscribe to the show to automatically receive the new episodes.
