Ep 156A pristine health scene

For most of early life, Andrea Nicholson followed mainstream health advice, blindly trusting what she was told. She's tried all of the standard diets and advice, only to find herself continually getting sicker. From carb-addict and vegetarian, to low fat and low calorie, and from extreme workout to another, she did some serious damage to my body. But how could eating all those vegetables be bad? Because they're all carbs! She was seriously nutrient deficient, lacking in quality proteins and healthy fats, and left with high inflammation, a bloated and irritated gut, and flat-lined energy. Even though those vegetables were filled with nutrients and fibre, she wasn't absorbing any of those nutrients and even with the fibre, she had decimated my gut microbes. Functional testing showed she had very little microbial activity and even less diversity. Clearly this was NOT the path for her. Ultimately, she took her health into her own hands, did her own research, ordered functional tests, and used technologies to uncover her personal imbalances. She started doing the opposite of most of the common advice to restore her body - more quality proteins from animal sources, more healthy fats including saturated fats, far less carbohydrates (even fruits and vegetable sources), and eating far less often. Now, she is healthier and more vibrant than she has ever been and has maintained the results for years. No more bloating, constipation, migraines, stiff muscles, or fatigue. Effortless weight loss and it's been easy to maintain. Now Andrea uses everything she has learned from her own journey and education to help others, and she is passionate about making a difference in many lives. This is a wonderfully practical and empowering conversation that I hope moves you into positive action. To find out more about Andrea, Click here.My website is www.andrewjobling.com.au

Ep 153Self-love is not selfish

Bill Heinrich found success at a very young age. He was living in one of the most beautiful places on earth and from the outside everything looked perfect, but something was always missing. Surrounded by material success, with everything in place by normal standards, he found myself dissatisfied and nothing seemed to fill the emptiness inside. No matter how much money he made or how successful he was he never felt whole. Painfully aware that something was lacking, Bill continued to try to fill the empty space he felt inside. Over the course of time, this feeling got worse, never better, no matter what he did.It was almost 30 years ago that he was so miserable he walked out the door to change his life and never looked back. Since that time he has experienced many ups and downs along his path of personal growth. At each stage, he's gained new perspectives, and those new perspectives in turn created more opportunities for growth, and more realizations which have allowed him to see and understand the world with more insight and wisdom. For Bill, personal transformation is at the core of his essence, it is who he is. He has walked in your shoes and knows that, whilst experiences might not have been exactly the same and perhaps he has not had the same authoritative people or groups, or geographic influences in his life, but he knows we are all more alike than you can imagine. If you’re looking for a way to make lasting changes in your life – changes that are always going to be for the better - then this is podcast to listen to. There are many great moments including the belief that self-love is not selfish. Enjoy this remarkable conversation. To find out more about Bill, Click here.My website is www.andrewjobling.com.au

Ep 152Keep moving forward

Martin Henry said: It was on my second 10-day residential healthy eating and living retreat that this principle finally sunk in, that the body was made to win, to thrive, to heal. Give it the right nutrition, the right training and conditions and it will do all it can to bring itself back to health. Of course there are many occasions when more than this is needed, I am all for Doctors and the medical world, but much of what we encounter our body is designed to overcome, and so it was with me.His own body, and those of his wife and three children, are all affected by the same chronic and incredibly debilitating condition that many would consider a barrier to living a joyful life. But, not the Henry family. No matter what they are experiencing they have dedicated themselves to finding joy and gratitude every day, but also moving forward no matter hard it may seem. It has been this trudging to triumph which saw Martin become incredible successful in business, and then help navigate his family though the day to day challenges of chronic issues.Martin is now a personal trainer, helping many, soon-to-be an author, and is changing lives every single day. This is one of the most inspiring conversations, with one of the most humble people I have ever had. There is so much richness in everything Martin discusses, and I know this conversation will impact many lives, starting with your own. Ep 151Find the light

Imagine a world where people thought of themselves as whole and beautiful. A world where people knew how to heal themselves through daily self-care. That’s a world Cameron Tukapua wants to live in. Discovering Chinese medicine at aged 21 showed her a true view of reality. A world of energy where everything is connected and in right relationship to everything else. What Cameron loves about her life is facilitating connection to our original nature and a search for wholeness. Acupuncture rebalances the energies of the mind-body. It enlivens the innate healing power that lives inside all of us. Along with shifting the energy, she supports people to know and be themselves. Cosmology, ‘how to see our place in the universe’ is one of eight limbs of Chinese medicine. When we see the truth of life as energy, we tap into a source of power which is immeasurable and unlimited. When we listen to our own Hearts we live guided by our true Sovereign Ruler and the power of LOVE.Across 4 decades of healing practice Cameron valued sharing ancient wisdom teachings that empower us to show up as co-creators of our beautiful world. In the last two decades, she has created healing pathways which support people to listen to their own knowing as their ultimate guide in life. She has learned all she teaches after seeing the light during her own unsettling beginning to life.Currently Cameron sees a lot of lost, confused people trying to navigate the ‘non-sense’ of a weird world. At the same time she sees people everywhere waking up to the importance of taking charge of their lives. She believes grassroots change, from bottom up, is the essential healing remedy for our current health care crisis. Our health is up to us. It’s a choice. No-one else rules our mind. Ep 149Win the day

Kathy White's own yoga journey began when she was 25 years old, many years ago. She hated aerobics (which was all the rage in the 80's) as it just made her face red, her blood pound and she felt awful afterwards! She wanted to try something else. She was a keen cyclist and swimmer and yoga fitted her personality. When she was in her 30's Yoga helped when she lost her first child - he was stillborn and she felt very very disconnected from her body when he died. Yoga gradually allowed her to regain that connection and helped her birth her two children. However Yoga, when she turned 50 was no longer working in the same way, or at least the practice she'd been doing until then was not addressing her stiff joints, sore back, and painful knees. Then she discovered Kaiut. An amazing practice from Brazil. She retrained and over the next 5 years and developed her Joint Renewal System (TM). So amazing the transformation, she can't even remember which knee it was that used to hurt so much.Kathy offers a 21-day challenge for anyone wanting to start and introduce simple daily yoga practice into their lives. I then threw a spanner in the works by talking about creating an unconscious routine of daily yoga, which will actually take at least 63 days. So, this conversation is devoted to helping people, who want to receive the ongoing benefits of yoga, to get through three 21 day cycles and change their lives for the better forever. All you really need to do is just Win the Day! This is a message that is vital, and can be applied to every area of life. We have an awesome conversation about relationships, connection and communication. The phrase that really got my attention when she was talking about her own marriage was 'turning up for each other'. When I asked her about that, she talked about the daily check-ins they have, and the four areas they touched on each day that has helped their marriage flourish. This led her to write and publish her book, The Daily Check-In: A Journal for Couples. Trust me, it's not just for couples. This is a wonderful conversation that will help every single person who listens and acts.To find out more about Krista, Click here.My website is www.andrewjobling.com.au

Ep 145Creativity is our superpower

Michaell Magrutsche’s talent is recognizing awareness to seed a new consciousness that allows us to unveil the untapped superpowers of human’s limitlessness, art/creativity, healthy discourse and adaptability to make all humans fit within our human tapestry. Because Michaell has been a sick child and because of his dyslexia and dysgraphia (hand eye coordination) he could only navigate in very few systems. Michaell was forced to find his salvation in art. Interacting and creating art outside of systems helped him feel human and got him through life. Michaell is completely self-taught. Art allowed him to experience life with other humans and 5 books later, Michaell produced with Robert Evans and became a City Arts Commissioner.Michaell discovered that creating art is humans greatest inherent superpower, followed by healthy dialogue and our adaptability. These superpowers are applicable to everything from Creativity, Leadership, Business, Education, Relationships and what else humans focus on. Today, Michaell keeps unveiling the limitations of all man-made systems like technology, science, economy and generalized knowledge to change systems to be more human adaptable instead of humans keep forcing themself to be system adaptive. This work raises our human potential instead of making us blinder and ignore our human worth for system values. Michaell believes we are wasting too much life force and energy on system navigation to achieve limited system value. This is a very powerful conversation that I plan to listen to multiple times. I hope you enjoy it.Here is a short teaser by Michaell, click here.To find out more about Michaell, Click here.My website is www.andrewjobling.com.au

Ep 144End body burnout

Filipa and Chris Bellette are having a profound and positive impact on lives all around the world. But, it wasn't always like that...Filipa found her body is breaking down, as she was trying to juggle the demands of motherhood & building a business. It was crushing and debilitating and she was searching for answers, for solutions - for YEARS. She tried this way of eating. She tried that supplement. She tried this doctor. That practitioner. Some things helped reduce symptoms. Yet she still wasn’t getting to the root cause of her health issues. This led Filly to be treated by one of the world’s best in Functional Medicine, Dr Daniel Kalish, who, at the same time, mentored her in the practice of Functional Medicine. He gave her a PLAN to uncover ALL the root causes of her health issues, so that she could finally get on top of her health and become the mum, the wife, the healer & business owner that she wanted to be.Chris had always been blessed with health of body and mind. For many years, however, he devalued his blessings and abused his body, mind and spirit. He was so obsessed with elite level sport and being ‘the best’ - first, national-level basketball, then national-level Strongman - that he broke his body down with multiple injuries, burnt-out adrenals, and was left living on energy drinks to get through work, and conking out on the couch when he was at home. This left little time for his kids and his wife. He was also burning the candle at both ends, trying to build a fitness business. He had lost his way. Although he was a physically 'big' man, he felt weak and broken inside. His family life & business suffered because of it. It was through his own 2-year mentorship with world-renowned Holistic Health Coach, Mark Buckley, that he discovered the power of Mindset Coaching - which literally saved his life in more ways then one. Through intensive psychological re-shifting work, and healing of his own body systems (with the help of his wife!), he found his way back.Together Chris & Filly are a powerful force as they combine their personal experiences and overcoming, with what they have studied and learned on the journey. Filly a clinical nutritionist and functional medicine practitioner, and Chris an NLP practitioner and life coach have combined to create Chris and Filly's Functional Medicine. Together that are changing lives, and I know this conversation will inspire you to end body burnout.Find out more about Chris & Filly, Click here.My website is www.andrewjobling.com.au

Ep 143Pants on at 100

Kathy White's own yoga journey began when she was 25 years old, many years ago. She hated aerobics (which was all the rage in the 80's) as it just made her face red, her blood pound and she felt awful afterwards! She wanted to try something else. She was a keen cyclist and swimmer and yoga fitted her personality. When she was in her 30's Yoga helped when she lost her first child - he was stillborn and she felt very very disconnected from her body when he died. Yoga gradually allowed her to regain that connection and helped her birth her two children. As an older mum, age 40+ with two young kids, yoga helped Kathy keep up with them, play on the floor, climb the trees (which she still loves to do today). So amazing the transformation, she can't even remember which knee it was that used to hurt so much.Kathy wants to leave a legacy of people living freely in their bodies, and to help people understand that their mindset is often the place that is stuck. She wants to help people be open to learn new movements and new ways to approach restrictions, tightness, stiffness and pain in the body with mindfulness and kindness. She would love everyone to know that a sustainable yoga practice starts today, but lasts for life. She wants to help people put on their pants when they are 100.Kathy is from the UK, she lived in the spiritual community of Findhorn in NE Scotland for over 23 years and in 2018 moved to Vancouver Island, where she achieved a long time dream and opened a yoga studio in the basement of her home. When she speaks about yoga, there is so much she can share, with stories about students (including her 91 year old dad who practices twice a week with her), her own personal journey, and ways in which yoga has truly transformed lives. Ep 141Let's talk about sex

Kelly Myles and I go back many years. I am very grateful to have been with her on her journey to become an author and watch her courageously transition out of many decades in the hairdressing industry and into a coaching career that she is loving. Kelly is now having a powerful and profound impact on many lives through her coaching business. It's interesting how many of her clients are finding challenges with their relationships and sex life. So, in this conversation we discuss it.We all love sex, and we all want great sex, yet for so many people - including myself for many years - sex has been more a source of stress and anxiety than one of joy and pleasure. Whilst there are many short term, quick-fix, and gimmicky suggested solutions out there to help people improve sexual performance, the key seems to have very little to do with sex at all. It's all about communication and connection.Kelly talks in detail about some very simple things we can all do to improve connection, improve communication and significantly improve intimacy. None of which involves tablets, toys, or toe-touching! This is one of those conversations that is relevant to every person, no matter age, gender, or relationship status. This is a wonderful conversation with Kelly that I enjoyed immensely and hope you do also, Find out more about Kelly here.My website is www.andrewjobling.com.au

Ep 140Trust and belief

Not long after Matthew Caruana had attempted suicide, severed his spinal cord, was categorised as a para-plegic, and found himself in a wheelchair, something happened within him. It was at that moment, he realised that what he thought was the worst thing to ever happen in his life was now the one thing he was most grateful for. He started to believe he could help people and so began sharing his story. As he did, all thoughts and feelings of Depression, Anxiety and Suicide magically disappeared. The questions about self-worth and self-image were soon replaced with a sense of purpose and a reason to live. He had found his calling and realised he could help others to find theirs. Ep 137All you need is love

It is so good to be back on air with the 'Cheeky Cockney' Chris Freer. If you listened to episode 134, Saved by compassion, with Chris, you will know his story. He had a successful career, lots of money in the bank, and everything that seemed to be what one would desire for happiness. However, he was not happy, and his health was failing. The struggles he was experiencing led him to a decision to end the pain, by way of suicide. However, in a moment, he changed his mind and the direction of his life.Chris is now a powerful and inspiring coach, counselor, speaker, and soon to be author, who is living a life of joy and having a powerfully positive impact on many lives. So, the question I hear you asking is, what happened in that moment when he went from the helplessness of a suicide attempt to a desire to get help, and then a life dedicated to helping others? The answer is... love.He started to find the worthiness he had, and began to love himself for who he was, not what he had or did. This is a powerful message that every single person needs to hear, the one most responsible for the outcomes people are experiencing in their lives. He remembers thinking, "if this is small I'd hate to see medium." Whilst it took him a while to come to terms with the reality of his situation, he finally listened to his wife, friends and doctor, and took the advice to change his diet, start exercising more, and work on controlling stress. It was a transformational period in his life, as he started to live more in the moment, and be able to find the incredible joy and gratitude that was waiting for hi every day. All he had to do was look for it. Since that time he has published a daily list: Great things that happened today. Each day he celebrates the great things that happen. Since he started this journey, he has met some fascinating people, discovered new recipes and celebrated life. And he has laughed a lot. Ep 134Saved by compassion

Chris Freer had a life many would see as successful. He was the owner of five pubs and two clubs in the United Kingdom, and he was working hard to provide a lifestyle for himself and his family. As often is the case with very driven individuals, great career success comes at a cost. The cost was his marriage, and his wellbeing. When Chris started feeling unwell, he went on a journey to find out what was impacting his well being. Many doctors visits and tests revealed that he had Multiple Sclerosis. The good news, as he was told by one doctor, was that he would still have 20 years before symptoms would really start to appear. Unfortunately for Chris, this was not to be and very soon he was experiencing daily challenges.Coupled with his marriage ending, his ailing health led him to a decision to end the pain, and his life. On the day he decided to commit suicide, and in the moment it was to happen, the eyes of a stranger saved him. Ep 132Worthy and wonderful

In her books, best-selling author, speaker and disability advocate, Tracee Garner demonstrates what it means to push through. She loves sharing stories around: overcoming adversity, dealing with disability an inaccessible world, finding support for mental health as a black women, and encouraging others with disabilities, as well as their parents, that their attitude will have a positive or devastating effect on their child's ability to develop a can-do outlook on life and their disability. Interestingly the thing that inspired me most about Tracee was when, in a very humble way, she described herself as a wonderful and worthy person. What she has had to deal with, navigate and overcome to be able to make that statement is something every single person needs to hear. When we truly believe we are worthy and wonderful, anything is possible. Tracee has demonstrated this with her wonderful career and life success. Not only working in a full-time job she loves, she is the author of almost 20 books, a speaker and a coach. She is passionately impacting lives all around the world.Tracee's brand of amazing humor and encouragement, while still keeping it real with everyone who listens, will have people feeling better about whatever situations of life they find themselves in. Ep 126Mutual weirdness

Elise Peck had a challenging upbringing. She developed beliefs about herself, relationships and happiness that were having a very destructive impact on her life. She was very keen to change her situation and became heavily in involved in personal development from a young age. In her obsession for personal development, she lost sight of who she really was, and the fact that she was amazing, just as she was, even with her flaws, imperfections, insecurities, and quirks.Through a transformational journey in which she really learned to love herself, she became inspired to help others. Her niche is to help people find the magic that is available to them in romantic relationships. She refers to a wonderful quote from Dr Seuss: “We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.”Having completed thousands of 1-on-1 hours with coaching clients from around the world to create incredible results in their lives, Elise is most passionate about supporting people to experience deep connection, more fulfilment, to uncover and accept who they truly are, and to unleash their true power and potential. Ep 124What if?

As I was talking to Sean Bell in Episode 102, called Run for wishes, I was amazing at the incredible believe and capacity of this young man. He had run 50 marathons in 50 days to honor his friend Joey and make a difference and was talking about his next adventure. That was to run from Cairns to Melbourne with a vision of 60 in 60 for 60. In other words, to average 60kms per day for 60 days to raise $60k for the Make a Wish Foundation. He called it Run for Wishes.Well, he didn't do it. He did way better! Instead of 60km's per day, he averaged about 67km. Instead of 60 days, he ran for 62 days. Instead of raising $60,000, he raised over $100,000. He went through seven pairs of running shoes, he ate about 300 donuts, 250 slices of pizza and 14kg of hummus. But the greatest joy for Sean was, not just getting the job done, but was the impact this run has had and will have on many many lives. His vision is to inspire people to get out of their comfort zone, think big ask the question, what if?, and chase their dreams. Sean faced many challenges on this 62 day adventure, but with a dream in his heart, a great team of people around him and the vision of his purpose, he got the job done, one step at a time. Trust me when I say this is a conversation not to be missed. To find out more about Sean, go to his website. Thanks to Jeff and the team at HeXComm for sponsoring this podcast. Ep 123The calling

Jeff Teale is passionate about helping people turn their career hours into a meaning, fulfilling and joyful part of their lives. He spent many years of his life doing something that would seem to many as living the dream. However, he was not happy and even though he was travelling the world as a successful entertainer, he was not living his passion, and at the end of the day just doing it for the money. It was just a job. So, he went on a mission to use his experiences to find his calling in life.Recognising that the time people spend in their income producing pursuit is the majority of their waking hours, he dedicated himself to helping people find their calling in life. He started HeXTalent, a Melbourne based Talent eXchange and Career Engagement business. Traditional agency recruitment models have remained unchanged for decades. In many ways the processes are outdated and broken! He wanted to know why haven’t they changed and discovered that it was because owners & consultants can ignore the negative ‘recruiter’ stigma & ‘commercially driven’ (often neglectful) processes, when they see the dollar signs and realise their earning potential.HeXTalent hopes to challenge industry norms by providing an alternative (cost effective) engagement model for clients and a far more connected and humanistic career journey for talent. Now just four years in, he has found his passion and has created an App called HeXComm, to help people connect their career with their wellbeing. This is a conversation everyone needs to listen to and will change lives. To find out more about Jeff, go to his website. Thanks to Jeff and the team at HeXComm for sponsoring this podcast. Ep 122Put some tech in your step

This is an awesome conversation with Tor Roxburgh and Patrick Bonello. Tor writes (fiction and non-fiction), is a sometime artist (public sculpture & painting), loves reading speculative fiction, is keen on philosophy, architecture, community activism, feminism and… generally likes thinking about things and doing things. Patrick started his career as a radio journalist, now he does fun stuff running his own business and making websites, does graphic design work, is keen on gadgets and community activism and secularism and… generally likes thinking about things and doing things. This unlikely duo have started a wonderful podcast called, Ok, Smart-ass. The show where they put technology under the microscope, they take a photo of it with their smartphones, zoom in really close, chuck it into the blender, press the button and look at what’s happening in technology innovation and gadgets that make our lives so much more exciting. In this conversation, I am amazed at the incredible technology that is out there, and being developed, that is helping and will help people improve the quality of their lives. I challenged Tor and Patrick to discuss how tech can help people be healthier and live lives of joyful longevity. They did not disappoint and what you will enjoy is an incredible conversation that will give you hope, help and happiness. To find out more about 'Ok, Smart-ass, go to the website. Ep 118Fly on the wall

On his website, Jem Fuller says:Through my colourful and wonderfully varied life, I have been curious as to how much influence we have over the quality of our experiences and the results we get. This interest has led me to study various ancient healing arts, mind practices and in the last 2 decades leadership, coaching, Neuro Linguistic Programming, Human Behavioural Profiling and Mindfulness Meditation. The answer to my enquiry has been a resounding “YES”… The way we think, focus, act and move… our perspective and mental agility, our ability to communicate and access equanimity, have profound impacts on our lives and the lives of others. My mission is to share this with you.I loved my conversation with Jem as he honestly and transparently discusses his journey which has led him around the world, to devastating loss, to learning and growing, and finally to the place now where he impacts and inspires many people through his speaking, his facilitating and his writing. What he has discovered, and we discuss, is that communication is the key to happiness, fulfillment, wellbeing and prosperity. Not just communication, but deliberate, self-aware and conscious communication. In this conversation we talk about a range of amazing things. We discuss communication, we delve into ego, and we talk about the importance of self-awareness coupled with self-okayness. We discovered the foundation of communication comes down to the identity we have of ourselves, and the basis of that identity. What would the fly on the wall hear that was spoken about you at your funeral? An important question to ponder. This is an engaging and inspiring podcast I urge you to listen to.Jem can be found on his website. Thanks to Pietro and the team at Fitii for sponsoring this podcast. Go to the website.
