Ep 65Reach out
I am so grateful to have come across Millicent Tuhakaraina on LinkedIn. What an amazing lady. After spending much of her childhood exposed to violence, drugs and death, just trying to survive and to protect her siblings and cousins, she is now committed to creating positive change in the world. She is particularly focused on helping young people overcome trauma and triumph over adversity (TOA).The saying goes, it takes a community to raise a child. Milli is more concerned about who is looking after the community to ensure that it raises healthy children. After telling her story and sharing it online, she found many young people reaching out to her, asking for help. This was the catalyst for her to quit her job in the middle of the 2020 COVID pandemic and start Pasifiika TOA. Her mission with this movement is in empowering young people to know, feel and see that we value them as our emerging leaders, and supporting young people to be who they already are!!Milli's passion will burst though your speakers as you listen to her. Her desire is that any young people or people in communities who are suffering will reach out and ask for help. She is at a very early stage in this journey and has a big vision, so any help you can offer Pasifika TOA will be gratefully accepted, even if just sharing this podcast. I am committed to helping her, and this is a conversation that every person needs to hear and a podcast you do not want to miss.Find out more about Millicent and Pasifika TOA on their websiteThanks to Pietro and the team at Fitii for sponsoring this podcast. Ep 64Weep the tears
Wow! What an incredible conversation with nine time author Petrea King, who holds a special place in my heart. She is an amazing lady who my mother and father reached out to when my mum was going through her cancer journey. Petrea had a profoundly positive impact on both my parents, and was a large part of the reason my mother outlived her cancer diagnosis by 15 years. In fact, my parents helped Petrea get the Quest for Life Foundation (QFLF) off the ground back in the 1980's.Since that time, Petrea and the team at QFLF have helped tens of thousands of people living with cancer and other life-challenging illnesses, grief, loss, trauma and tragedy. She is at the forefront of wellness education and is a frequent lecturer at medical and other conferences. Petrea sees crisis as a catalyst for personal growth and understanding and as an opportunity for healing and peace. I sat spellbound for this entire conversation with Petrea as she spoke about many wonderful ideas to help every single person on the planet deal with the trauma and suffering that is a part of the human experience. For me, the most profound moment came when she declared that one of the main things that helped her overcome her diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia and just three months to live, was weeping the tears over the following few weeks. This is a conversation that every person needs to hear and a podcast you do not want to miss.Find out more about Petrea and the Quest for Life Foundation on their websiteThanks to Pietro and the team at Fitii for sponsoring this podcast. He founded and created the app called 'Fitii.'This amazing app has bought Pietro and myself together to partner in our mission of creating a wave of wellness around the world, and so 'Fitii' is the new sponsor of this podcast. As a young stroke and brain surgery survivor, she learned the tools needed to become an overcomer. When she’s not working as a Human Resources Professional, Heather is sharing her message of hope as a motivational speaker, mentor and author as she shares the art of finding beauty in the chaos and helping people put 'the spring in their thing!'Put the spring in your thing! What does that mean? It means giving power and strategy to anything you want to achieve. At the age of just 31, Heather has the wisdom and perspective of a person much older. What she didn't realise for the first 22 years of her life, was that she was effectively a ticking time bomb. Inside her brain was a cavernous angioma, a lesion, that was just growing and getting ready to rupture at any time. Well, it actually happened 5 times over an 11 month period and led to a nine hour brain surgery to remove it. As she woke from the surgery, paralysed, the sight of her sister sobbing and to be married 6 months later, led Heather to say, 'Stop your sobbing, I'll be dancing at your wedding.'Amazingly, despite all professional opinions, Heather 'put the spring in her thing,' and was dancing at her sister's wedding. In fact, her attitude and the things she did to get herself there will inspire you and motivate you beyond belief. Heather has recently published her first book, Headstrong, and on April 8/9 she and I will deliver an online session, called, 'Put the spring in your thing!' Ep 52You get what you expect
Carol Cooke is a truly remarkable lady, with character traits that we can all hone and develop. She was 50 years and it took 41 years of creating, and she now has three gold medals from two Para-Olympic games.Carol is about to turn 60 years old and is still acting like a women many years her junior. On the verge of heading to Tokyo to compete in her third Para-Olympic games, I asked her what she expected from these games. She looked at me and said, in no uncertain terms, 'I expect to win!' It is this powerful expectancy that has helped her overcome disappointment, heartbreak, disease and time to be where she is today, and having this inspiring conversation with me. In addition to her remarkable athletic career, she is on the verge of publishing her second book, called, 'The Force Within.' How she received a publishing contract from a traditional publisher one week after she submitted the manuscript, is unheard of. However, for Carol, it was just what she expected. Ep 51Hitting the drop zone
Ossie Khan is doing amazing things. Not only does he jump out of planes on a regular basis, he helps many people face and overcome their fears to do the same thing. His 27 plus years of experience and lessons have led him to a successful career as a sky-diver, teacher, speaker and encourager, and led him to say, “Skydiving at its core is about reading situations, making decisions and being accountable for your actions."When he declared that he had done over 10,000 jumps and never once broken a bone, I was interested. He explains that the reason why is because he is always focussed on and committed to the preparation and process required to get everything done properly, even if it takes longer than he would like. Ossie says that when you follow the process, hitting the drop-zone safely and successfully is a predictable outcome. The drop-zone is a metaphor for any or all of the things you want to successfully experience and achieve in your life. In this discussion, Ossie and I talk about the power of process, accountability and moving through fear if hitting the drop-zone in any area is a goal. This is a wonderfully inspiring conversation that I encourage you to listen to.Ossie can be found via his website. My website is www.andrewjobling.com.au

Ep 50The purpose in adversity
Peter Chambers is an inspiring Aussie who, whilst living with the incurable Motor Neurone Disease, has found a reason to be and is living a wonderful life. From deep within he has found peace in the storm and purpose in his adversity and is now on a mission to make the most of every second, enjoy the simple things in life and make a positive difference in the lives of others.Peter's first symptoms in late 2017 to early 2018 led to a spinal fusion operation in May 2018. After the operation, his shoulders lost muscle rapidly and, whilst he gradually regained some use in his left arm, his left hand was severely weakened and he has never regained any more than about 10% of movement in his right arm. Neurologists, at the end of 2019, finally agreed the diagnosis was MND. He was diagnosed the Arm Flail version of MND, which lead to his arms losing all muscle first, then other muscles to follow.Rather than fall into victim mode, Peter chose to find the positives in his situation, to live and love every moment and to fuel his purpose. He now devotes his time and energy to helping promote awareness of the disease and to be a voice of advocacy. I love his attitude towards life and Peter Chambers is a man who will touch your heart and your life. This is a wonderfully inspiring conversation that I encourage you to listen to.Peter can contacted via his email or through LinkedIn.Click here to donate to MND VictoriaMy website is www.andrewjobling.com.au

Delia is one smart cookie, and not just because of her education and PhD, but very much because she eats to feed her her gut and her brain. Delia offers some simple and powerful ideas about how we can feed our gut to proliferate trillions of beneficial bacteria to enhance our brain health and our overall wellbeing.Delia talks not just from a nutritional point of view, but also a neuroscientific and psychological point of view, which means she hits every area that is relevant if living a long happy and healthy life is the goal. Ep 48The hidden benefits
I have known Natalie Matthews for more than five years, and the thing that stood out to me most, when I met for the first time, was the confidence this lady exuded as she towered above most people in her six foot three inch body and her three-four inch heels! She has always loved her height and the resulting benefits she has experienced in her life. The only challenge for her, and for many tall women, was finding beautiful clothes to wear, hence she began her fashion business, Height of Fashion.I speak again to Natalie after a wonderful conversation in Episode 19 called 'Embrace your uniqueness.' More than 7 months later, despite her own COVID related adversity which has separated her and restricted her from being with her family in the UK, she has a very powerful message. It's been a tough time for Natalie, however, she has some powerful perspective which can help anyone going through a challenging time, or wanting to live their best life.Natalie shares ideas about how to find the purpose that we are all put on this planet for, and she talks in detail and with great passion about the hidden benefits that can be found in every challenge, if we choose to look for them. Whilst I wasn't sure where this conversation would go when we began talking, I am excited about the result and I know this podcast will have a positive effect on your life.Natalie can be found on her website at www.height-of-fashion.com and on Instagram at thetallceo and height.of.fashion.My website is www.andrewjobling.com.au

Ep 47Survival to thrival!
I first saw Tracey Jewel on the reality show, 'Married at First Sight' back in 2018 where she really impressed me with the way she handled herself with an ongoing barrage of traumatic experiences on the show. It was then a random meeting where Tracey and I actually met for the first time, and after that, I was even more impressed with this inspiring lady At that time I didn't know that she was already a successful author, speaker and coach who helped empower people to live their best lives. So, Tracey and I started running some events together, but the wheels started falling off Tracey's wagon, as she wasn't expecting the relentless and hateful fallout she would experience on social media from her time on television. It was this horrific and inexcusable bullying that left Tracey feeling helpless and spiralling to the point where taking her own life seemed to be the only way out.The great news is that Tracey is a resilient and courageous lady who picked herself up, dusted herself off and has gone onto rebuild herself and her life. In this conversation with Tracey, I invented a new word, as I described her journey as going from survival to thrival. If you would like to know how to 'thrival' in your own life, then this is a wonderfully inspiring conversation that I encourage you to listen to.Tracey can be found on her website and followed and contacted on his Instagram pageMy website is www.andrewjobling.com.au

Ep 46An amazing life lies beyond comfort
I first saw Tim Robards on the reality show, 'The Bachelor' back in 2013 where he really impressed me with his approach to the show, and the ladies on the show. It's no surprise he met and married his wife, Anna, on that show and they had recently had their first child. It was a random meeting at Melbourne airport where I first met him and Anna, and I was very grateful for their openness to chat. Tim has a background as a chiropractor, but his passion was always to be an actor. His story of dreaming, working and getting way out of his comfort zone has helped him create an incredible life of passion and purpose. In addition to his appearance on 'The Bachelor', he has competed on 'Australian Ninja Warrior', acted in many TV commercials and finally, after 15 years, got his opportunity to act on the very popular TV serial, 'Neighbours.'I love his attitude towards success. It's about having a go at things, even if they scare you. He made it a habit of getting out of his comfort zone time after time, starting when he was child who was influenced by his grandmother to hug trees! What I got most out of this chat with Tim is that amazing opportunities and a great life lies beyond the comfort zone. This is a wonderfully inspiring conversation that I encourage you to listen to.Tim can be found on his website and followed and contacted on his Instagram pageMy website is www.andrewjobling.com.au

Ep 45Control the controllables
Laura Hingston is an Australian 10m platform diver on a world stage and aspiring for her first Olympic Games in Tokyo 2021, but that was not always the case. As a determined 5 year old, Laura finally convinced her parents after 3 years of asking, to let her learn gymnastics. Very quickly, with incredible focus, she became an elite gymnast, but the young Victorian transferred through the VIS to Diving, after having career ending back surgery. Now, she is a member of the National Team and competes in both the 10m Individual and Synchronised events on the world stageWith the same passion she gave to her gymnastics, she took to diving and found herself diving off the 10m platform at a world class level. Now with her eyes firmly set on the Tokyo Olympics, she is doing amazing things. I have had this conversation with her at a time when she is in the zone and totally focused on her dream. As a result, the pearls of wisdom that come out of the mouth of a 25-year-old will amaze you. From thinking big, to goal setting, to persistence, to overcoming fear, to resilience and to my favourite quote of hers, controlling the controllables, this is a conversation full of inspiration for everyone, no matter their age or aspirations in life. In addition to her diving, Laura is very open to share her thoughts and help anyone wanting to live their very best life. This is a wonderfully inspiring conversation that I encourage you to listen to.Laura can be followed and contacted on her Instagram pageMy website is www.andrewjobling.com.au

Ep 44Feed the brain to be stress resilient
Delia McCabe, PhD, is based on the Gold Coast, in Queensland, Australia, is a powerful spokeswoman for enhancing mental well-being via targeted brain nutrition, using the latest evidence from the field of nutritional neuroscience. Using her psychology background, in combination with her neurological and nutritional knowledge, Delia provides a unique perspective on improving cognitive function, including focus, concentration and learning capacity, shifting mood, enhancing our ability to manage stress and creating new habits with ease. Delia is one smart cookie, and not jst because of her education and PhD, but very much because she eats to feed her brain. In this session we discuss how to be stress resilient, how to maximise our brain function and capacity, and how to enjoy the amazing taste of natural foods without relying on the many potentially dangerous processed foods out there to tempt us.Delia talks not just from a nutritional point of view, but also a neuroscientific and pyschological point of view, which means she hits every area that is relevent if living a long happy and healthy life is the goal. Ep 43Harnessing the power of emotion.
Deborah Stathis was a normal, happy and optimistic 19-year-old, when the car she was driving hit a slippery part of the highway, slid out of control and wrapped itself around a telegraph pole, crushing her on the inside. There were no airbags in the car, so Deb sustained life-altering injuries to her face, her eyes and her brain. Medical professionals stated that she would never be the same and would be affected, physically and mentally, for the rest of her life. Deb did not accept that diagnosis. The definining moment came for Deb whilst alone in her room in the rehab centre. She decided to look at the thing she had been protected from for many weeks... her face. She looked at the devastating injuries, she cried and she said to herself, "You're here now, what are you going to do?" What she did will amaze and inspire you as she went on to transform and reconstruct her face, her body and her life.It was the fear she experienced when she thought about a permanently affected life that enabled her to harness the power of a relentless determination that moved her into positive action. Ep 42Headstrong - Keep dancing!
Heather Rendulic wants to live in a world where everyone feels empowered when they face life’s challenges. She knows how hard life can get. As a young stroke and brain surgery survivor, she learned the tools needed to become an overcomer. When she’s not working as a Human Resources Professional, Heather is sharing her message of hope as a motivational speaker, mentor and author as she shares the art of finding beauty in the chaos. As she woke from the surgery, paralysed, the sight of her sister sobbing and to be married 6 months later, led Heather to say, 'Stop your sobbing, I'll be dancing at your wedding.'Amazingly, despite all professional opinions, Heather was dancing at her sister's wedding. In fact, her attitude and the things she did to get herself there will inspire you and motivate you beyond belief. Heather has just published her first book, Headstrong, and is now on the verge of having an even greater impact on many people, all around the world. Ep 40Behind the music
I met Morgan Beard through Fernando Parnes, founder of BestBeing and sponsor of this podcast. Morgan and I spoke in podcast #10, called Getting through the mud and the muck. I was immediately impressed, engaged and inspired by this 30 year old dynamo. Listening to her wisdom, you would certainly not expect someone so young in years. As you listen to Morgan's maturity, it's hard to imagine she has been through so much torment, torture, suffering, depression and suicidal thoughts as she has. She gets raw and vulnerable as she talks about some of the ups and downs of 2020 and the impact of COVID on herself and her clients. As a talented musician, when she finally gave herself permission to enjoy this pursuit, the transformation was incredible. Behind the music was a fearful lady, but that same music helped her move through the darkness and into the light. Morgan is now really making a difference in many lives.I threw a challenge at Morgan for this podcast. That was to write and sing a song that would show people the power music has to help deal with the dark places we sometimes find ourselves in. What Morgan shares, what she overcome and how she delivers it will delight and inspire you. I say it every week, but honestly, this is a podcast you do not want to miss.Morgan can be contacted through www.morganbeard.coachHer music instagram account is muuniemusicI want to thank the team at BestBeing for sponsoring this podcast. they can be found at www.bestbeing.com .My website is www.andrewjobling.com.au

Years of therapy, prescriptions, journaling, Yoga and self-help books still left her struggling with unmanageable clinical depression that she masked with drugs, alcohol and self-harm. It got to the point where she stood on the window ledge of a foreign hotel room, ready to end her life. Fate stepped in, by way of a song, and moved her to step off that ledge and choose to give life and happiness one more chance. It took a careful and mindful combination of nutrition, fitness and lifestyle changes, but she overcame depression and suicide on her own terms. So, with the support of his parents and trained professionals, Nick began to work through his issues. He says; "Really, my whole 20s were about trying things, failing, learning and searching for what I wanted to do with the rest of my life… that came with a lot of turmoil, but if I hadn’t gone and tried so many things and made mistakes I wouldn’t have found the things I am passionate about, I wouldn’t have found the path I am on now."Nick has now found his purpose and spends his time advocating for mind wellness. Regardless of his achievements, he had recurring questions about what life was going to be like for him at 50, or even 60 and beyond. What would his future look like?Greg’s not sure what happened when he turned 40. It wasn’t a mid-life crisis, because there was no crisis, he just thought, “enough”. He’d had enough knowing that the upcoming year was going to be a carbon copy of the last. He knew his life was good, but he wanted phenomenal. If the next 40 years were going to be different, his cage needed some serious rattling. In the spirit of “enough”, he hacked his status quo. He literally turned his life upside down. After moving back to Sydney following 17 years in London, Greg studied coaching, leadership and mentoring, focusing on neuroscience, positive psychology and NLP. He took everything he had learnt from his work, travels and the extraordinary people he’d met and decided to act. His speaking, workshops, coaching and programs are the result. Ep 19Embrace your uniqueness
I have known Natalie Matthews for more than five years, and the thing that stood out to me most, when I met for the first time, was the confidence this lady exuded as she towered above most people in her six foot three inch body and her three inch heels! She has always loved her height and the resulting benefits she has experienced in her life. The only challenge for her, and for many tall women, was finding beautiful clothes to wear.As a result, she learned how to sew at a young age and started making her own clothes. Heart-broken by the many stories of tall women who hated their height and had very poor self-image, she launched the brand Height of Fashion, with the goal of helping women all around the world, find beautiful clothes that would fit, embrace their uniqueness, and love their height. It is through this brand that Natalie is making a positive impact on many lives.Natalie shares her inspiring story, and her vision to help people all around the world, love themselves for who they are, embrace their differences and to live the life they are destined to live. She is humble, down-to-earth, passionate, engaging and inspiring and this is a podcast you do not want to miss.Natalie can be found on her website at www.height-of-fashion.com and on instagram at thetallceo and height.of.fashion.I want to thank the team at BestBeing for sponsoring this podcast. they can be found at www.bestbeing.com .My website is www.andrewjobling.com.au

Ep 18Making lives better
In the last year of my professional football career at the St Kilda Football Club, in 1987, a young fresh-faced kid began his own. At that time, only one person knew that Nathan Burke would go on to be a legend of the club, and the game, and that was him! He played for the next 18 years, amassed 323 games, captained the club, won multiple Best & Fairest awards, won player of the year several times, captained the state team and achieved more than most as a player,Since retirement, he has not rested. In fact, the only thing that has changed is his desire to make a positive difference in the lives of as many people as he can. He lives by a quote, he credits to Will Smith, which says, 'If you're not making someone else's life better, you are wasting your own.' With that in mind, he is a coach for young female footballers, a consultant working in the team-building and leadership space, is an inspirational speaker in schools and companies, and with his wife, has set up a page on facebook called, 'The Thankful Plan.'Nathan shares his inspiring story of success as an elite athlete. He shares his powerful T.L.C. formula for overcoming challenges, and, he discusses his simple three-step criteria for becoming a high performer in every and any area you choose. Ep 17Tap into your inner gold
The moment I started my conversation with Carol Cooke, I knew it was going to be an inspiring and compelling one. Her courage, her persistence, and her self-proclaimed stubbornness kept her going from one setback to the next until she finally overcame her many challenges to win her first para-olympic gold medal for Australia in 2012 after 41 years of trying, at the age of 50 years.Starting with a dream to be a gymnast at the age of 9, she was told she could never make it happen. As a swimmer, she set the goal for the Moscow Olympics in 1980, when Canada and much of the world boycotted those games. Moving to Australia, being diagnosed with MS and told that she would never compete as an athlete again. The courage to get up and find rowing, but was unable to make it to the Olympics in that sport, Then finally, with no experience on a bike, she finally made her dreams come true in the 2012 para-olympics.Carol is the most inspiring example of the power of inner strength I have ever met. Her attitude, as she navigated the challenges in her life, over 41 years to achieve the external gold medal, is a testament to the inner gold that she tapped into and drew strength from, day after day after day. She is humble, passionate, engaging, hilarious and inspiring and this is a podcast you do not want to miss.Carol can be found on her website at www.carolcooke.com.auI want to thank the team at BestBeing for sponsoring this podcast. they can be found at www.bestbeing.com .My website is www.andrewjobling.com.au
