Always Root For The Underdog with Pete Schwaba (Hour 2)

Onions are one of the most polarizing foods, and they seem to be everywhere. The Draft Begins with Mike Clemens and Kevin O’Connor (Hour 1)

Today marks the beginning of the NFL draft in Green Bay! Civic Media’s brilliant Sports Reporter Mike Clemens is on the scene, and he calls in to paint us a picture of the event preparations. We also listen to a report from our very own Teri Barr on the draft.  While they don’t always come out on top, the Green Bay Packers have always led the NFL in terms of culture. The great Vince Lombardi set an incredible example of acceptance and inclusion by demanding respect and equality for all of his players, no matter their race or sexuality.  At the bottom of the hour, Todd’s old broadcast partner Kevin O’Connor (unfortunately a Bears fan) returns to talk about Packers and Bears draft booms and busts over the years. The Ongoing Legacy of Saturday Night Live (Hour 2)

This afternoon, Trygve Olson sticks around as Todd asks us What’s Worse: shaving or flossing? Neither are particularly enjoyable chores for most of us, so we take your calls and texts on which one stings more.  At the bottom of the hour, Matt Solomon of Cracked.com joins us to weigh in on the 50th season of Saturday Night Live. How Joe Zepecki Wants To Lead WI Democrats (Hour 1)

Today is our first show at our new time of 2-4 pm! Trygve Olson of The Lincoln Project follows us into the mid-afternoon to share his unique perspective on the news of the day. Like Todd, he is a native Wisconsinite and former Republican. Unlike Todd, Trygve has worked in politics at all levels around the world, including presidential campaigns and battling authoritarianism in Eastern Europe. We ask Trygve about the developments of the Trump administration’s complete disregard of due process and rule of law.  At the bottom of the hour, we are visited by Democratic political operative Joe Zepecki of Zepecki Communications. Ben Wikler recently announced that he will not run for reelection as Chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. Now, Zepecki is running to carry on the torch. He talks with Todd and Trygve about the ways he plans to build on Wikler’s legacy of success in our state. Today, Todd joins us live from Governor Nelson State Park to celebrate the 55th anniversary of Earth Day. Wisconsin’s own former Governor Gaylord Nelson founded Earth Day in 1970. Today, his daughter Tia Nelson, a fantastic conservationist in her own right, joins us to talk about the history of this holiday and what we can do to pitch in.  Also joining us are Park Manager Mike Ring and Drew Howick, President of Friends of Governor Nelson State Park. Head over to friendsofgovnelson.org to learn about this new advocacy organization.  At the bottom of the hour, former Republican State Senator Rob Cowles joins us to talk about the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program, another important part of what keeps our Wisconsin environments clean and healthy. Pete Hegseth May Be Drunk Texting Again, Apparently (Hour 2)

In our second hour, Todd spends some more time remembering the late Pope Francis. He shares some of his memorable quotes and remarks from former President Obama.  This afternoon, Todd asks us What’s Worse: bad breath or body odor? Neither is a great smell, but which one makes you want to gag?  Secretary Pete Hegseth’s Signalgate controversy continues to balloon to increasingly disconcerting levels. Hegseth used non-government communication channels for classified military plans, accidentally including a journalist in the group chat. We now know that Hegseth also used his personal phone to share classified military plans with family members and his lawyer.  Tomorrow, Todd will broadcast live from Governor Nelson State Park to celebrate Earth Day! Mondays With Matt: On The Passing Of Pope Francis (Hour 1)

This morning, Pope Francis passed away. Todd believes that this Pope was one of the greatest in modern history due to his humility and intentional reflection of Christ’s teachings over religious dogma. Regardless of one’s religion, Pope Francis’s focus on acceptance was admirable.  Today, our friend Matt Flynn joins us to talk about the Pope’s impact on Catholicism. In addition to serving as the Chair of the Wisconsin Democratic Party, Matt is an attorney, and he represented Milwaukee’s Roman Catholic Archdiocese for many years. In this position, he had a unique vantage point on the Catholic sexual abuse scandal. He shares details good and bad in his book, Confessions of a Church Lawyer: In Defense of Christianity.  We also ask Matt’s opinion on continuing developments in the Trump administration’s illegal deportations. What does this mean for the future of due process in America?  At the bottom of the hour, Civic Media Sports Director Jimmie Kaska joins us to discuss some big changes coming to the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA). Once again, Name, Image and Likeness deals are potentially on the table for high school students. Wisconsin is the last state to allow these NIL deals in high school, and Jimmie expects the amendment to pass this time. Read more about the other proposed WIAA amendments at civicmedia.us/news. Weekly Best of Todd Allbaugh Show for Apr 19

From Tuesday's show: How Trump’s Policies Are Wrecking Your Coffee (Hour 2) We welcome TJ Semanchin, Owner and President of Wonderstate Coffee! He and his Viroqua-based business are part of what makes Wisconsin great. Wonderstate has developed relationships with coffee farmers around the world to ensure that they are fairly compensated for the excellent coffee they grow. However, from cutting USAID to implementing nonsensical tariffs, the Trump administration’s actions are causing companies like Wonderstate to either increase prices or shut down entirely. For coffee in particular, low supply has already increased prices before these tariffs. From Friday's show: Saving Hearts and Killing Rats by Doug Moe (Hour 2) At the bottom of the hour, Madison-based author Doug Moe returns to the show to talk about his latest book, Saving Hearts and Killing Rats: Karl Paul Link and the Discovery of Warfarin. It’s an incredible Wisconsin story and Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Wisconsin Book of the Month.  Saving Hearts and Killing Rats is available for purchase from Henschel Haus Publishing and your local bookstore.  The Todd Allbaugh Show is a part of the Civic Media radio network and airs Monday through Friday from 12 - 2 pm across Wisconsin. Saving Hearts and Killing Rats by Doug Moe (Hour 2)

To kick off our second hour, Todd continues discussing Bob Spindell’s lack of decorum in the Wisconsin Election Commission meeting. As his former boss Dale Schultz would say, Todd finds himself “in the heat of agreement” with our callers and texters.  At the bottom of the hour, Madison-based author Doug Moe returns to the show to talk about his latest book, Saving Hearts and Killing Rats: Karl Paul Link and the Discovery of Warfarin. Fake Elector Bob Spindell Strikes Again (Hour 1)

In the last Wisconsin state budget, Governor Evers used his line-item veto power to extend public school funding increases for the next 400 years. As of this morning, our state supreme court has ruled that this move is constitutional and will stand. While many of us agree that funding schools is important, is this the right way to do it? Todd isn’t so sure. We take some calls and texts with your thoughts.  In other news, a Wisconsin Elections Committee meeting devolved into a shouting match yesterday evening. Bob Spindell, a known perpetrator of 2020’s fake elector scheme, attempted to steer the conversation towards Milwaukee’s April 1st ballot shortages, a topic which was absent from the agenda. According to decorum rules, this is out of order, and Committee Chair Ann Jacobs yelled over Spindell until he returned to the topic at hand. Milwaukee has long been a scapegoat for the Wisconsin GOP to falsely claim that our state does not have secure elections. Spindell’s false outrage over a solved issue demonstrates further that he is unfit to serve on WEC. On The Future Of Due Process In America (Hour 2)

This afternoon, Todd asks us What’s Worse: pity or ambivalence? We ask listeners to call and text in, but it’s no big deal. We have no strong feelings either way.  At the bottom of the hour, Todd brings us updates on two breaking news stories. Firstly, he brings new information on the shooting at Florida State University. Currently, six people are being treated in hospitals, but no casualties have been announced. The suspect is in custody after a shootout with police.  The next breaking news story revolves around President Trump’s move to end birthright citizenship. After pressure from Trump’s team, the Supreme Court has agreed to bypass the typical court process to hear the case on this potential revocation of rights. According to great reporting from the Daily Cardinal, Federal Judge William Conley has temporarily blocked the Trump administration from canceling the visa of a UW-Madison student, pending appropriate due process. Good Elected Officials Listen To Their Constituents (Hour 1)

BREAKING NEWS: Before we kick off today’s show, Todd shares early details on an active shooter situation at Florida State University in Tallahassee. Stay tuned to your local news to hear more details as they become available.  Today, we are very excited to welcome Green Bay Mayor Eric Genrich! He recently wrote a guest column in The Recombobulation Area on where the Democratic party should go from here. He believes that the party is not taking strong enough action to carry out the will of the people. Genrich says that the high attendance of anti-MAGA protests and anti-oligarchy rallies across the country beg the question: do Democrats really want to be the party of the status quo?  At the bottom of the hour, State Senator Sarah Keyeski returns to the program to update us on what she has accomplished in her first three months in office. Currently, she is fighting to proactively ban hedge funds from buying up single-family residences and jacking up prices. This situation is already occurring in Milwaukee, and Sen. Keyeski wants to prevent it from making homes even less affordable for Wisconsinites around the state. We wrap up the first hour, we take a dive into MAGA radio. Conservative talk show host Joe Giganti has labeled WI GOP Chairman Brian Schimming as “Pontius Schimming.” Giganti claims that Schimming is “crucifying” other Republicans because he isn’t extreme enough. The Best New TV Shows with Tara Ariano (Hour 2)

This afternoon, Todd asks us What’s Worse: The Who or Led Zeppelin? We take your calls on these two classic bands.  At the bottom of the hour, we’re happy to welcome Tara Ariano back to the show! She is a prolific television critic known for her previous work on Television Without Pity and current podcast, Extra Hot Great. Today, Tara joins us to talk about some of the best and worst new shows you can watch right now.  Here are some shows recommended by Tara Ariano:  The Righteous Gemstones - This comedy follows the misadventures of a traveling televangelist family. The situations have only gotten crazier as they reach the end of the series. The Pitt - Watch medical professionals do their best to make the world a better place. Each episode is essentially a shift at an emergency room in Pittsburgh. CAUTION: This show contains significant gore and is not for the faint of heart. Running Point - Mindy Kaling’s new comedy puts an inexperienced woman in charge of a sports franchise. Going Dutch - A broken family is forced to mend through a new military assignment. Good Cop/Bad Cop - This comedic crime show is great for fans of Psych or CSI. Hacks - This great show about making a show is back for its fourth season! United Wisconsin: What Is Fusion Voting? (Hour 1)

This Wednesday, Trygve Olson of The Lincoln Project joins us via phone to share his perspective on President Trump’s deportations without due process. As more information becomes public, things are looking even worse for the rule of law in our country.  At the bottom of the hour, we talk with some folks from United Wisconsin about fusion voting. Former Republican State Senate Majority Leader Dale Schultz and former Democratic Dane County Sheriff Dave Mahoney come from very different political backgrounds, but they believe that Wisconsinites have more in common than we may realize. Much like ranked choice, fusion voting is a way to raise up less politically extreme candidates.  Visit unitedwisconsin.org to learn more about how you can help bridge the political divides in our state. This Milwaukee Day, Civic Media Sports Reporter Mike Clemens joins us to talk about Wisconsin sports. After a rough start against the Yankees, the Brewers are picking up steam. Mike Clemens believes that the pitching is what’s making the difference.  This afternoon, Todd asks us What’s Worse: gas station bathrooms or fast food bathrooms? We take your texts and calls on the matter.  At the bottom of the hour, Todd rounds up the rest of the weekend’s political news and takes your calls. Happy Milwaukee Day with Dan Shafer (Hour 1)

This morning, a crew of six women including Gayle King and Katy Perry made their way into space before safely touching back down. Todd watched live, and he gives us a recap.  Happy 414 Day! Dan Shafer, Founder of The Recombobulation Area and Civic Media’s Political Editor, joins us to celebrate Milwaukee. As part of 414 Day, paid subscriptions to The Recombobulation Area are 41.4% off, and there will be some giveaways to new subscribers. Head over to www.therecombobulationarea.news to learn more about how you can stay up-to-date on Wisconsin politics and support independent journalism. At the bottom of the hour, Todd takes a break in covering all of Trump’s tariffs to remind us that MAGA merch is made in China. Donald Trump is a fundamentally dishonest man who will do anything for money. Despite all of his anti-China rhetoric, he still does business there. This weekend, Trump also spoke on immigration policy, proposing that all undocumented people should be deported and then given an opportunity to come back “the right way.” Todd has experience working with US immigration policy, and this approach is absolutely divorced from reality. The World Of Sports Is Always Active (Hour 1)

Tariffs continue to affect every industry around the world, including sex toys. Now, we can’t even afford to go screw ourselves!  We also hear a story of governmental overreach from political orphan and former Congressman Scott Klug. While Elon Musk and DOGE love to exaggerate government waste, it does happen. The solution is to apply common sense, not to indiscriminately cut programs.  At the bottom of the hour, three-time B1G champion and NFL fullback Bradie Ewing returns for an update on all things sports! BREAKING NEWS: Ben Wikler Declines Reelection (Hour 1)

This afternoon, Todd asks us What’s Worse: timidity or temerity? In other words, is it worse to lack confidence or to have too much of it?  BREAKING NEWS: Wisconsin Democratic Chair Ben Wikler has announced that he will not seek reelection this June. He has been enormously successful in this position, and we look forward to seeing where his career leads him in the future. Almost immediately afterward, political strategist Joe Zepecki announced that he will be running for this position. Towards the end of the show, Todd shares a very frightening video with us. It documents incognito ICE agents allegedly performing a welfare check, but it appears far likelier that it was an attempted kidnapping of an immigrant right before they receive their green card. Extreme Market Instability Hurts All Of Us (Hour 1)

President Trump’s flip-flopping on tariffs continues to throw our country and the world into chaos. Small businesses and big box stores alike are already beginning to raise prices or shut their doors. We at The Todd Allbaugh Show are not financial advisors, but if you have the means, we do recommend making any larger planned purchases sooner than later. Stocking up on staples like canned food and toiletries may also be a good idea to get ahead of anticipated price increases.  At the bottom of the hour, Main Street Alliance’s Campaigns Director Shawn Phetteplace joins us to explain the impact of these tariffs on small business owners and consumers alike. Trump is changing his tariff policy nearly daily, causing extreme volatility and destroying the ability for business owners to plan ahead. Even if Trump’s latest 90-day tariff pause sticks, the 10% base increase is enough to potentially bankrupt businesses and cause a recession. We Are Trump’s Personal Piggy Bank (Hour 2)

This afternoon, Todd asks us What’s Worse: Taco Bell or Arby’s? We get a ton of responses. Listen in to see what everyone says!  At the bottom of the hour, Todd covers an important topic we haven’t yet been able to touch: the newly-passed GOP spending bill. Trump’s tax cuts for the wealthy have been increased and extended, as has the budget for ICE deportations. Many Trump appointees request exorbitant luxuries like warm chocolate cookies on demand or 24/7 bodyguards in secure government buildings. They view the American people as their personal piggy bank.  We wrap up the show on a positive note, showcasing Badger Women’s Hockey Coach Mark Johnson’s new horse ranch for children with mental health struggles. The Trump Economy Is A Whirlwind Of Instability (Hour 1)

This Wednesday, one of our callers kicks off the discussion on the Trump administration’s self-inflicted wounds. On CNN, Matt Priest of Footwear Distribution and Retailers of America shared details of just how expensive shoes will be in the coming months. Republican Rand Paul explained on CNBC that Trump has been lying about how our tariffs with Canada actually work. Our country is retaliating against tariffs that have literally never gone into effect.  While discussing this on the air, many outlets broke the news that Trump intends to pause his newest tariffs for 90 days, but only for some countries. He also announced an increase in tariffs on China to 125%. Trump’s unpredictable behavior is far worse for the world economy than tariffs alone. Trump Revokes Student Visas And Erases Black History (Hour 1)

This Tuesday, Pat Kreitlow of UpNorthNews Radio returns to gather up the latest news. One of the biggest stories both state- and nationwide is the Trump administration’s immediate revocation of many student visas. Allegedly, these revocations have nothing to do with protest participation or “terrorist” affiliation, leaving only naked racism as the culprit. This same situation is playing out at universities around America.  Big changes are coming in the Civic Media lineup! Stay tuned for more details, but on or around April 23rd, this will be the new schedule:  6-9 - Mornings with Pat Kreitlow, powered by UpNorthNews 9-11 - Matenaer on Air with Jane and Greg 11-2 - Thom Hartman Program 2-4 - Todd Allbaugh Show 4-6 - Maggie Daun Show 6-8 - Nite Lite with Pete Schwaba This schedule may vary on some stations, so pay attention to your local listings. At the bottom of the hour, Todd shares a report from Anderson Cooper on the Trump administration’s continued erasure of American history. The latest scandal involves removing Harriet Tubman and references to slavery from the Underground Railroad website, among other dark spots in our country’s past. We take your texts on whether it stings more to stand under icy water or to be iced out.  After What’s Worse, Todd dives into the news of the weekend. What Makes Wisconsin Great: “Old Home Week” (Hour 2)

Todd kicks off the second hour by reuniting with some old friends. Kari Pink, the Interim Executive Communications Officer at UWM, has been a close friend of Todd’s for over 40 years, and she helped to make this campus visit possible. Today also marks the first time Todd is on air with his old broadcast partner Kevin O’Connor in 30 years! Kevin now serves as the UWM Licensing & Product Development Manager, and he talks about how marketing helps to fund student scholarships.  After talking with Kevin, we reveal the true identity of UWM’s mascot, Pounce the Panther! Well, not really, but we do have an exclusive interview with the man behind the mask.  At the bottom of the hour, we welcome several members of the cast of UWM’s production of Dames at Sea, a campy musical set in the 1930s. Alyna Williams, Abby McBee, and Lucas Drube are all Musical Theatre majors whose performances blew Todd away, inspiring him to bring the show to Milwaukee today. What Makes Wisconsin Great: UW-Milwaukee (Hour 1)

Today, Todd broadcasts live from UW-Milwaukee for another addition to the What Makes Wisconsin Great tour! UWM too often plays second fiddle to UW-Madison, but it deserves much more credit. Todd is joined by Chancellor Mark Mone, who has served in the role for 11 years and is stepping down this July to shepherd in new leadership. He conveys the importance of UW-Milwaukee as a level one research school and an accessible university for non-traditional students.  We also welcome Kim Litwak, Dean of the College of Health Professions & Sciences to speak on how the University is working to address Wisconsin’s healthcare shortage. Veronica Burns, a current UWM nursing student, also chimes in on why she’s choosing this career path. “Extremism Has Hit The Wall” with Dale Schultz (Hour 1)

Last night, Wisconsin elected Judge Susan Crawford to become our next state supreme court justice. Trygve Olson of The Lincoln Project joins us to give his take on this election and what it means for Wisconsinites. There’s a national narrative that this election was a referendum on Elon Musk meddling in politics, but Trygve doesn’t believe this to be the sole factor that decided the outcome.  At the bottom of the hour, former Republican State Senate Majority Leader Dale Schultz joins Todd and Trygve to talk about the political moment we find ourselves in after yesterday’s election. Schultz believes that Wisconsinites are getting sick of how the Trump administration is mistreating our allies and veterans alike. Ultimately, everything is looking incredibly close.  We finish up today’s show with new information on the alleged “gang members” who were sent to Salvadoran prisons without due process. The Trump administration has admitted that at least one person was sent to these inhumane prisons erroneously. It’s No Joke: Be A Voter Today with Pat Kreitlow (Hour 1)

Finally, after two and a half years, Todd has successfully infiltrated the woke den of liberal indoctrination that is Civic Media. Just kidding! Pat Kreitlow of UpNorthNews Radio joins us this Tuesday, April first to talk about something that isn’t a joke: today’s election for state supreme court and state superintendent. Lately, Civic Media has been running several political ads endorsing Brad Schimel. While we as a company do not endorse him, we are legally obligated to run all ads submitted by political candidates. Todd breaks down the lies in one of the most egregiously false ads running on our network. “Wisconsin Is Not For Sale” with LG Sara Rodriguez (Hour 2)

This afternoon, Lieutenant Governor Sara Rodriguez joins us from the road in Green Bay to talk about the state of healthcare in Wisconsin. The UW-System is doing a lot for healthcare workers and retention, but our Republican-led legislature is lagging behind nearly the entire country when it comes to Medicare and Medicaid funding. We are one of two states that hasn’t expanded funding for postpartum Medicaid.  At the bottom of the hour, Civic Media Political Editor and Founder of The Recombobulation Area Dan Shafer joins us to expand on tomorrow’s election. Aside from the supreme court and state superintendent races, the ballot has a referendum to amend the Wisconsin constitution. This amendment would require voters to have a photo ID, which is already the law in Wisconsin. Todd walks through his unique personal involvement in Wisconsin voter ID bills, and Dan explains what the motivation for this referendum may be. Upholding The Law In Wisconsin (Hour 1)

Tomorrow, Wisconsin holds its state supreme court election. Today, Judge Susan Crawford joins us on the phone for one last discussion before the people make their choice. At The Todd Allbaugh Show, we encourage everybody to vote regardless of who they’re voting for. However, we believe Judge Crawford has proven herself to be a competent and nonpartisan judge who upholds the law, compared to Brad Schimel’s brazen support of the MAGA agenda. Todd ends the hour by covering President Trump’s latest claims that he will run for a third term. He isn’t joking, and we go over the groundwork that his administration has been laying to make it happen. Weekly Best of Todd Allbaugh Show for Mar 29

From Thursday's show: Trump's Latest Order Disenfranchises 21 Million Voters (Hour 1) Today, the Milwaukee Brewers kick off their season in New York against the Yankees. Todd takes some time to celebrate Bob Uecker and the Brew Crew.  On Tuesday, President Trump signed an executive order that could cost approximately 21 million Americans their vote. This order gives Elon Musk access to voter rolls and requires proof of citizenship to vote. A tremendous portion of Americans do not have a current passport. Additionally, military IDs and driver’s licenses don’t count in many states. If somebody has changed their name for any reason and it no longer matches their birth certificate, that doesn’t count either. After giving us the next keyword in the Break Into Spring Text To Win Contest, Todd asks us What’s Worse: not remembering names or not remembering where you parked? We take a lot of calls and texts about which kind of forgetfulness is the worst.  Todd then moves on to discuss UW-Madison’s new women’s basketball coach, Robin Pingeton. Unfortunately, her record is one of mediocrity at best. Why is the university spending money to hire a new coach with a losing record? Every Vote Will Matter On April First (Hour 1)

It’s Wednesday, and Trygve Olson of The Lincoln Project is here to break down a flurry of Wisconsin news.  Firstly, UW-Eau Claire Chancellor Jim Schmidt is leaving his position to become the president of James Madison University in Virginia. This is a huge loss for education in our state, and yet another casualty of Jay Rothman’s continued gutting of UW-System.  Next up, Todd and Trygve discuss developments in Pete Hegseth’s Signal chat fiasco. Sharing classified military plans on a non-government app and lying about it is unacceptable. The people involved need to step down or be impeached.  At the bottom of the hour, we return to Wisconsin. Trygve shares some new poll numbers and what they mean for our state supreme court race. The two candidates are neck and neck, but higher turnout is statistically more likely to bring victory for Judge Susan Crawford over former Attorney General Brad Schimel. Secretary Pete Hegseth Is Putting All Of Us In Danger (Hour 1)

Pat Kreitlow of UpNorthNews Radio is officially sick of Trygve Olson’s age jokes. Henceforth, he shall join us on Tuesdays. (In reality, he now has a meeting that conflicts with our Wednesday show, but Trygve doesn’t need to know that.)  This morning, Dan Bice published a new article in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Elon Musk is paying people $25/hr to knock on doors for Brad Schimel, but it seems that he’s not actually making sure they know anything about the candidate or the race.  Todd and Pat wrap up their time together with a recap of the latest excitement in college hockey and basketball tournaments.  At the bottom of the hour, Todd talks us through the latest goof from Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.
