Ep 551What To Eat For Health And Longevity
This episode is brought to you by BiOptimizers, Cozy Earth, and InsideTracker. Our bodies are literally made out of the food we eat. So ask yourself, do you want to be a twinkie or a raspberry? Ep 549The Reemergence Of Psychedelic Medicine For Anxiety, Depression, and End-of-Life Care
This episode is brought to you by Athletic Greens and Rupa Health. Psychedelics have gotten a bad rap. Often associated with the small period of time they became popular in the 1960s, they were researched in clinical, cultural, and spiritual contexts for many decades prior to that. Now we are seeing an uptick in the interest of drugs like this, which include compounds like psilocybin from certain species of mushrooms, for therapeutic uses. Trials are finding amazing effects on anxiety, depression, PTSD, and fear of death by using psychedelics in a responsible and highly controlled environment. In today’s episode, I talk with Dr. Anthony Bossis, Michael Pollan, and Rameshwar Das about the neurobiology of psychedelics, how they can help to shift mindset, and the story of Ram Dass. Anthony P. Bossis, PhD, conducts FDA-approved clinical trials in the reemerging field of psychedelic research. He is a clinical psychologist and clinical assistant professor of psychiatry at NYU School of Medicine, where he investigates the effects of psilocybin, a naturally occurring compound found in specific species of mushrooms. Michael Pollan is the author of the New York Times bestsellers Cooked, Food Rules, In Defense of Food, The Omnivore's Dilemma, The Botany of Desire, How to Change Your Mind, and This Is Your Mind on Plants. Rameshwar Das has been navigating a spiritual path for 50 years. Ramesh met Ram Dass in 1968 and spent time with Neem Karoli Baba in India from 1970–72. He learned Vipassana meditation from Goenka in India. Ramesh has worked as an artist, photographer, environmentalist, and writer. He has collaborated on many projects with Ram Dass over the years, including the original Be Here Now and the Love Serve Remember recordings, and he has coauthored three books with Ram Dass: Be Love Now, Polishing the Mirror, and Being Ram Dass. Ep 548How Balanced Hormones Lead To Healthy Aging
This episode is brought to you by InsideTracker and Athletic Greens. Hormones are like a symphony, with each one acting as a specialized instrument to keep our bodies in tune. But as we age, those instruments start to get a little rusty. Small changes over time create a variety of imbalances, until one day we wake up realizing we’re flat and out of tune. This leads to things like menopausal symptoms in women, hair loss and belly fat in men, thyroid dysfunction, bone loss, and so much more. That’s why it’s never too early, or too late, to start optimizing hormonal balance. Today we’re featuring an episode of the Longevity Roadmap docu-series that takes a deep dive into hormones and how they play a critical role in how well, or poorly, we age. I was joined by two of my colleagues from The UltraWellness Center, Dr. Elizabeth Boham and Dr. Todd LePine. To get all of my longevity tips, sign up for my weekly Longevity newsletter at drhyman.com/longevity. This episode is brought to you by InsideTracker and Athletic Greens. InsideTracker is a personalized health and wellness platform like no other. Right now they’re offering my community 20% off at insidetracker.com/drhyman. AG1 contains 75 high-quality vitamins, minerals, whole-food sourced superfoods, probiotics, and adaptogens to support your entire body. Right now when you purchase AG1 from Athletic Greens, you will receive 10 FREE travel packs with your first purchase by visiting athleticgreens.com/hyman. Here are more details from our interview (audio version / Apple Subscriber version): The role of hormones in the body (5:48 / 2:52) The prevalence of hormonal imbalance (7:44 / 4:38) The importance of maintaining good muscle mass (9:36 / 5:37) The need for increased amounts of protein as we age (10:47 / 7:40) Nutrients for strong bone density (14:47 / 11:28) Nutrients to support adrenal function, stress hormones, and the thyroid (20:19 / 17:00) Hypothyroidism and accessing thyroid health (21:58 / 18:50) Optimizing health in menopause and andropause (27:02 / 23:44) High estrogen and low testosterone in men (28:42 / 25:33) Supporting the body through perimenopause (31:18 / 28:00)

This episode is brought to you by ButcherBox, Rupa Health, and InsideTracker. Cancer is a topic that scares just as many people as it directly impacts, which is nearly everyone. While the conventional medicine approach to treating the disease is very important and lifesaving, Functional Medicine takes a slightly different approach. In Functional Medicine, we look below the surface to identify what imbalance is allowing the cancer to grow. By focusing on the terrain, you can learn how to reduce the risk of weeds like cancer. In this episode, I’ll be featuring an in-depth discussion on cancer from my Longevity Roadmap docu-series. Ep 545How Innovators Are Disrupting Our Broken Food System
This episode is brought to you by Athletic Greens and Paleovalley. Our current food system is not working. Food waste is at an all-time high, food deserts exist in many neighborhoods, and our produce is falling short in flavor and nutrients. The good news is that innovators in various fields are implementing ideas that promote better access to fresh, nutritious, and tastier food for everyone. In today’s episode, I talk with Kavita Shukla, Tobias Peggs, and Dan Barber about a creative way to reduce food waste, growing the number of farmers in urban areas, and ideas to improve the flavor and nutrition profile of produce. Kavita Shukla is the founder and CEO of The FRESHGLOW Co. and the inventor of FreshPaper, a simple innovation taking on the massive global challenge of food waste by keeping food fresher longer. FreshPaper is used by farmers and families across the globe, and The FRESHGLOW Co. has partnered with some of the largest retailers in the world, from Whole Foods to Walmart, so that people everywhere can take advantage of this incredible product and the goodness of real food. Tobias Peggs is the cofounder and CEO of Square Roots, the Brooklyn-based urban farming company known for changing the way people think about growing local food and training the country’s future generations of farmers. Previously, he led Aviary, a mobile photo-editing company, as its CEO until its acquisition by Adobe and was also CEO at OneRiot, a social media analytics company, since acquired by Walmart. Tobias grew up in England and has a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from Cardiff University. Dan Barber is breaking the conventional ways we eat, cook, and think about food. He is the chef and co-owner of Blue Hill and Blue Hill at Stone Barns and the author of The Third Plate. He also cofounded Row 7 Seed Company, a seed company bringing together chefs and plant breeders in the development of new varieties of vegetables and grains. Dan has received multiple James Beard awards including Best Chef: New York City (2006) and the country's Outstanding Chef (2009). In this episode, it’s clear how mutually passionate Dan and I are about changing the current food system and doing so in a way that promotes health and supports the environment. Ep 542What Causes Rapid Aging?
This episode is brought to you by Rupa Health, InsideTracker, and Pendulum. Aging shouldn’t be something we dread; it should be something we celebrate. Yet, as a society, we are sicker than ever. We are so fixated on keeping people alive longer, but what about keeping people healthier? This is the difference between healthspan and life span. Your life span is how long you live. Your healthspan is how long you live a healthy, vibrant life. I’ve learned so much about this topic over the last few years that my team at The UltraWellness Center and I got together to make a docu-series about the Functional Medicine approach to longevity. Over the next few weeks, I’m excited to share this series with you here. In this episode, we dive into an overview of the seven systems of Functional Medicine and how you can optimize these systems to improve your healthspan. To get all of my longevity tips, sign up for my weekly Longevity newsletter at drhyman.com/longevity. Ep 541Redesigning Our Food System To Make Health Accessible For All
This episode is brought to you by Athletic Greens and Rupa Health. We are living in an epidemic of chronic disease that is destroying our health, our communities, and our economy. The common denominator between all of these things is food, or more specifically, our food system. The way our food is grown, transported, processed, and consumed is making us sick and driving health disparities related to income and race, especially among marginalized groups. In today’s episode, I talk with Dr. Marcia Chatelain, Dr. Rupa Marya, Raj Patel, and Karen Washington about creating a society that cultivates health, how our existing social structures predispose us to illness, and how we can make great changes to our food system through grassroots efforts. Dr. Marcia Chatelain is a professor of history and African American studies at Georgetown University. The author of South Side Girls: Growing up in the Great Migration, she teaches about women’s and girls’ history, as well as black capitalism. Her latest book, Franchise: The Golden Arches in Black America, examines the intricate relationship among African American politicians, civil rights organizations, communities, and the fast food industry. Dr. Rupa Marya is an associate professor of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, where she practices and teaches Internal Medicine. Her research examines the health impacts of social systems, from agriculture to policing. She is a cofounder of the Do No Harm Coalition, a collective of health workers committed to addressing disease through structural change. Raj Patel is a research professor at the University of Texas at Austin’s Lyndon B Johnson School of Public Affairs, a professor in the university’s department of nutrition, and a research associate at Rhodes University, South Africa. He is the author of Stuffed and Starved, the New York Times bestselling The Value of Nothing, and coauthor of A History of the World in Seven Cheap Things. Karen Washington is a farmer, activist, and food advocate. She is the co-owner and farmer at Rise & Root Farm in Chester, New York. Karen cofounded Black Urban Growers (BUGS), an organization supporting growers in both urban and rural settings. In 2012, Ebony magazine voted her one of the 100 most influential African Americans in the country, and in 2014 Karen was the recipient of the James Beard Leadership Award. Ep 540Why Sugar And Fructose Are So Deadly with Dr. Richard Johnson
This episode is brought to you by Rupa Health, InsideTracker, and HigherDOSE. Eighty-eight percent of people are metabolically unhealthy, and since the 1920s we’ve shamed them into believing it’s their fault—that they should just eat fewer calories and exercise more. But the real culprit is sugar and the processed foods that contain it. The majority of foods on our market shelves contain insane amounts of added sugar and high-fructose corn syrup—ingredients that literally slow down our metabolism and turn on our internal fat storage switch. That means we have the power to turn that switch off by choosing to use food as medicine. Today, I’m excited to talk to Dr. Richard Johnson about how our biological fat storage process works and what we can do to positively affect it. Dr. Richard Johnson is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado in Denver and has been a practicing physician and clinical scientist for over 25 years. He is internationally recognized for his seminal work on the role of sugar and its component fructose, in obesity and diabetes. His work has also suggested a fundamental role for uric acid (which is generated during fructose metabolism) in metabolic syndrome. He previously authored The Sugar Fix with Timothy Gower in 2008, and The Fat Switch in 2012. His new book, Nature Wants Us to Be Fat was just released. This episode is brought to you by Rupa Health, InsideTracker, and HigherDOSE. Rupa Health is a place where Functional Medicine practitioners can access more than 2,000 specialty lab tests from over 20 labs like DUTCH, Vibrant America, Genova, and Great Plains. You can check out a free, live demo with a Q&A or create an account at RupaHealth.com. InsideTracker is a personalized health and wellness platform like no other. Use my promo code FARMACY15 at checkout to save 15% off OR just go to HigherDOSE.com/hyman to get your 15% off today. Here are more details from our interview (audio version / Apple Subscriber version): What makes sugar so bad? (5:50 / 2:44) How our body’s fat-storage switch works (7:25 / 4:06) Why eating certain foods makes us hungrier (15:07 / 11:58) Why eating sugar slows down your metabolism (18:08 / 14:59) Comparing high-fructose corn syrup to table sugar (27:19 / 21:55) The physiology of how fructose affects your body’s energy production and weight gain (32:45 / 27:52) The difference between eating a high-carb and low-carb diet, even if calorie intake is the same (42:30 / 36:46) Why mitochondrial function is key to health and longevity (53:35 / 49:27) / Supplementing with vitamin C (59:44 / 55:51) Is salt good or bad for us? Ep 538How To Reverse Or Reduce Your Risk Of Alzheimer’s And Dementia
This episode is brought to you by Athletic Greens and ButcherBox. For so long, we’ve been told that memory loss and dementia are just normal parts of aging. We now know it doesn’t have to be that way, and that there are many measures we can proactively take to avoid cognitive decline as we age. Emerging research is helping us look at new ways to treat and even prevent devastating neurological diseases like Alzheimer’s and dementia, giving people a newfound sense of hope. In today’s episode, I talk with Dr. Marwan Sabbagh, Dr. Richard Isaacson, and Dr. Jay Lombard about the role of genetics in brain disorders, lifestyle habits you can start right now to reduce your risk or reverse symptoms, and why we need to look at bacteria as a cause of neurodegenerative disease. Dr. Marwan Sabbagh is a board-certified neurologist and considered one of the leading experts in Alzheimer’s and dementia. Ep 535How Men's Health Is Affected By Stress & Blood Sugar Imbalance
This episode is brought to you by Athletic Greens and Rupa Health. Many of us are living our lives out of balance and are stressed from the time we wake up until the time our heads hit the pillow. The problem is that chronic stress causes inflammation and is behind many of the health conditions that affect men specifically. Stress can drive low testosterone, for instance, which is a common problem for men that drives many other health issues. In today’s episode, I talk with Dr. George Papanicolaou, Dr. Louis Ignarro, and Jessie Inchauspé about low testosterone and its effects on men, the heart-protective molecule nitric oxide, the importance of minimizing blood sugar spikes, and much more. Dr. George Papanicolaou is a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and is board certified in Family Medicine from Abington Memorial Hospital. He is also an Institute for Functional Medicine practitioner. Upon graduation from his residency he joined the Indian Health Service. He worked on the Navajo reservation for four years at the Chinle Comprehensive Medical Facility, where he served as the Outpatient Department Coordinator. In 2000, he founded Cornerstone Family Practice in Rowley, MA. He began training in Functional Medicine through the Institute of Functional Medicine. In 2015, he established Cornerstone Personal Health, a practice dedicated entirely to Functional Medicine. Dr. Papanicolaou joined The UltraWellness Center in 2017. Dr. Louis Ignarro is a medical research scientist who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine for his breakthrough discovery of how nitric oxide positively impacts health and longevity. His groundbreaking research on nitric oxide paved the way for—among other innovations—Viagra. He is an award-winning Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Molecular & Medical Pharmacology at the University of California, Los Angeles, and has his PhD in pharmacology, with over 35 years of experience teaching. Jessie Inchauspé holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from King's College London and a master’s degree in biochemistry from Georgetown University. Her work at a genetic analysis start-up in Silicon Valley made her realize that, as the key to good health, food habits beat genetics. In her first book, Glucose Revolution, Jessie shares her startling discovery about the essential role of blood sugar in every aspect of our lives, from cravings to fertility, and the surprising hacks to optimize it while still eating the foods we love. This episode is brought to you by Athletic Greens and Rupa Health. This episode is brought to you by Rupa Health, Athletic Greens, and Vuori. Acne is the number-one skin condition in the United States, affecting not just millions of teenagers but an increasing number of adults under the guise of hormones. Typically, the first thing we reach for to deal with acne is a lotion, potion, or cream to apply to the skin—and conventional medicine doctors frequently prescribe birth-control pills. However, these approaches do not target the root cause of acne. In this episode of my Masterclass series, I am interviewed by my good friend and podcast host, Dhru Purohit, about the biggest triggers of acne, why we all react differently, and the top nutrients for skin health. We also discuss some frequently asked questions from our community about acne during puberty and more. Ep 527Working Together To Reverse Global Warming
This episode is brought to you by Athletic Greens and Beekeeper’s. We are in a climate crisis. Although we might feel helpless and hopeless at times about this crisis, we actually have the ability to contribute to the reversal of global warming. It starts with our food choices and using our dollar to support companies that have plans to do their part and sequester carbon. In today’s episode, I talk with Paul Hawken, David Wallace-Wells, Jared Blumenfeld, and Tom Newmark about the urgency of taking action to stabilize the earth’s climate. Paul Hawken is an environmentalist, entrepreneur, author, and activist who has dedicated his life to environmental sustainability and changing the relationship between business and the environment. He is one of the environmental movement’s leading voices, and a pioneering architect of corporate reform with respect to ecological practices. Paul is Executive Director of Project Drawdown, a nonprofit organization dedicated to researching when and how global warming can be reversed. He is on a mission to present real, already existing solutions to reverse global warming. David Wallace-Wells is Deputy Editor of New York Magazine and the author of the international bestseller The Uninhabitable Earth: Life After Warming, published in February 2019, which the New York Times called both "brilliant" and "the most terrifying book I have ever read." While the real truth about climate change can be scary, it’s a more important conversation than ever. Throughout our talk, David shares the history of climate change and the three major issues at hand: speed, scope, and severity. Jared Blumenfeld is California’s Secretary for Environmental Protection. Appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom in January, he is one of America’s most innovative environmental leaders, with more than 25 years of environmental policy and management experience at the local, national, and international levels. This episode is brought to you by BiOptimizers, InsideTracker, and Rupa Health. When we think about optimizing health, we need to think about redesigning life in a way that supports a healthspan that matches our lifespan. Today, I’m so excited to talk to an old friend and pioneer of integrative medicine whose work has guided my path as a doctor, Dr. Andrew Weil. We take a deep dive into the body’s innate healing capacity and how food is our greatest ally to support that process. This episode is brought to you by Athletic Greens and Rupa Health. The foundation we set for our children’s health in childhood—starting even before conception—will carry them throughout their lives. Yet a third of all American children are overweight or obese, and we are seeing an increase in type 2 diabetes in children. In today’s episode, I talk with Dr. Elizabeth Boham, Sam Kass, and Dr. Tracy Shafizadeh about the urgency of prioritizing and establishing good nutrition habits in infancy, in the home as the child grows, and in school. Currently, Sam is a partner at Acre Venture Partners. Acre is a venture-capital fund investing in the future of food with a mission to improve human and environmental health in the food system. The fund focuses on early-stage, highly disruptive impactful companies in the food system focused on agriculture, the supply chain, and the consumer. Ep 523How To Use Food As Medicine with Dr. William Li
This episode is brought to you by Mitopure, InsideTracker, and Cozy Earth. Humans have coevolved with food and its medicinal actions on our bodies, meaning we have actual cell receptors for specific food-derived molecules. So why aren’t doctors trained in how to use food as medicine? We’re taught all about using pharmaceuticals to affect our biology, but the power of food is left high and dry. I think this is a foundational area of medical training we need to change. That’s why I’m so excited to talk to one of my favorite people and thinkers in the world of food and medicine on this episode of The Doctor’s Farmacy, Dr. William Li. Dr. William Li is a world-renowned physician, scientist, speaker, and author of Eat to Beat Disease: The New Science of How Your Body Can Heal Itself. He is best known for leading the Angiogenesis Foundation. His groundbreaking work has impacted more than 70 diseases including cancer, diabetes, blindness, heart disease, and obesity. His TED Talk, Can We Eat to Starve Cancer? has garnered more than 11 million views, and he has appeared on The Dr. Oz Show, Martha Stewart Live, CNN, MSNBC, NPR, Voice of America, and has presented at the Vatican’s Unite to Cure conference. An author of over 100 scientific publications in leading journals such as Science, The New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, and more, Dr. Li has served on the faculties of Harvard, Tufts, and Dartmouth Medical School. This episode is brought to you by Athletic Greens and Paleovalley. Seventy-five percent of women experience daily symptoms due to hormonal imbalances. Some of these symptoms are irritating, like insomnia, sugar cravings, fluid retention, moodiness, and headaches, while others can be more devastating, such as infertility. Often, many of these symptoms are written off as “normal” and just a part of a woman’s cycle or transition into menopause, but the truth is that there are many things we can do to reverse them to live each day more comfortably. In today’s episode, I talk with Dr. Elizabeth Boham and Dr. Sara Gottfried about how many women’s health issues can be resolved using a Functional Medicine approach. This episode is brought to you by Rupa Health, ButcherBox, and Pendulum. Autoimmune disease is, by far, the most widespread chronic health condition today, with a prevalence greater than heart disease, cancer, and diabetes combined. It is staggering! Sadly, however, conventional medicine is making numerous mistakes when it comes to treating patients with autoimmune disease by attempting to manage symptoms rather than resolve the root cause and heal the body. In this episode of my Masterclass series, I am interviewed by my good friend and podcast host, Dhru Purohit, about what’s really behind the rates of climbing autoimmune disease. We discuss environmental and dietary changes, reduction in quality of food, and much more—and then what we can do to heal. Ep 517How To Choose Quality Meat
This episode is brought to you by Rupa Health and Athletic Greens. There’s no doubt that factory farming should be illegal, but that is a far cry from stating that all meat is bad. Ep 510Improve Your Relationships For Better Health
This episode is brought to you by Rupa Health, Athletic Greens, and InsideTracker. Community is medicine, just like food or sleep. Without community, we can become isolated, which has been found to be connected with inflammation and can even negatively impact immune response. Moreover, whom you choose to be in community with also matters. Your immediate social circle—the four-to-five people you surround yourself with the most—has the greatest influence on your health. In today’s episode, I talk with Radha Agrawal, Dan Buettner, and Dr. Vivek Murthy about why community matters, what we have learned from cultures that prioritize community in their population, and how to take care of our needs first before giving to others. Radha Agrawal is the Co-founder, CEO, and Chief Community Architect of Daybreaker, the early morning dance and wellness move-ment. Daybreaker currently holds events in 25 cities and more than a dozen college campuses around the world and has a community of almost half a million people. She is also the author of the book, Belong: Find Your People, Create Community, and Live a More Connected Life. Dan Buettner is an explorer, National Geographic Fellow, award-winning journalist and producer, and New York Times bestselling author. This episode is brought to you by Thrive Market, Rupa Health, and Eight Sleep. For the past two years, we’ve been flooded with Covid-related information. We’ve heard conflicting recommendations on everything from how to prevent the spread, reduce the severity, and recover, but many people are still unsure of which actions make the most impact. To me, a key underlying issue of the pandemic is that we aren’t addressing the health of the host. With the virus actively looking for a new home, it’s within our power to make our bodies the least appealing place for it to settle down. Today on The Doctor’s Farmacy, I talk to Dr. Roger Seheult about giving our bodies the best inputs to stay resilient against Covid and other infectious diseases. Dr. Roger Seheult is currently an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of California, Riverside School of Medicine, and an Assistant Clinical Professor at the School of Medicine and Allied Health at Loma Linda University. Ep 508The 6 Foods You Should Never Eat
This episode is brought to you by Rupa Health and Vuori. Eating ultra-processed foods—made primarily from wheat, corn, and soy—increases your death rate by 75 percent. How’s that for a sobering statistic! Unfortunately, American grocery-store shelves are monopolized by foods that contain ingredients that you should never eat, like partially hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, and more. These foods have been scientifically proven to cause disease and death, so why do we still keep reaching for them? In this episode of my Masterclass series, I am interviewed by my good friend and podcast host Dhru Purohit about foods that you should never eat again, foods to limit, and the food industry’s role in why these foods are so pervasive in our supermarkets. Dhru Purohit is a podcast host, serial entrepreneur, and investor in the health and wellness industry. Ep 507How The Weedkiller Glyphosate Affects Your Body And How To Avoid It
This episode is brought to you by Athletic Greens, Cozy Earth, and Eight Sleep. Glyphosate is a popular pesticide that has a big downside—it’s destroying our health. It damages our good gut bacteria and may lead to leaky gut. Glyphosate also depletes glutathione, our master antioxidant and a cornerstone of our biology, and it dramatically impacts our sulfur, methylation, and detoxification pathways that have many essential roles for our health. And not only is glyphosate harming human health and the health of our future generations, it’s also destroying our ecosystems. In today’s episode, I talk with Dr. Stephanie Seneff, Ken Cook, and Dr. Zach Bush about why it’s important to be aware of the effects of glyphosate and make choices that reduce our exposure as much as possible. Stephanie Seneff is a Senior Research Scientist at MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She has a bachelor's degree from MIT in Biology with a minor in Food and Nutrition Science, and a master’s degree, an engineer’s degree, and a PhD degree, all from MIT, in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Her recent interests have focused on the role of toxic chemicals and micronutrient deficiencies in health and disease, with a special emphasis on the pervasive herbicide, glyphosate, and the mineral, sulfur. She is the author of Toxic Legacy: How the Weedkiller Glyphosate Is Destroying Our Health and the Environment. Ken Cook is president and co-founder of the Environmental Working Group, a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to protecting human health and the environment. He is widely recognized as one of the environmental community’s most prominent and influential critics of industrial agriculture and the nation’s broken approach to protecting families and children from toxic substances. Dr. Zach Bush is a physician specializing in internal medicine, endocrinology, and hospice care. He is an internationally recognized educator and thought leader on the microbiome as it relates to health, disease, and food systems. Dr. Bush founded Seraphic Group and the non-profit Farmer’s Footprint to develop root-cause solutions for human and ecological health. His passion for education reaches across many disciplines, including topics such as the role of soil and water ecosystems in human genomics, immunity, and gut-brain health.
