Does motion provoke the person's symptoms? Does your sciatica patient have pain only with walking? Or may walking is fine, but returning to full sprinting has been troublesome? Ep 181Fear Of Movement Conversation
I've had a few patients over the last year I wish I had made this for as they were starting care. The reason being is that being afraid of certain movements (knowingly or not) can create certain types of pain. Establishing a clear line of communication is helpful to get these patients to their goals. Communication is needed with all relationships but in my experience, these types of cases require a little more trust-building. Teamwork!
