Ep 70MNS - Branton Blount
Our guest on the Movers and Shakers podcast is Branton Blount. Like many who discover real estate investing mid-life, Branton found himself squarely entrenched in the “E” quadrant at age 37, having spent close to two decades becoming highly specialized within military and federal law enforcement. What for so long had been the “goal”, now became his greatest challenge. Passionate about untethering himself from a single source of income, and short on available funds to invest, Branton immersed himself in real estate podcasts, books, and local networking events, while finding creative ways to leverage the skills acquired from his law enforcement career to the real estate investing realm. Discovering Jake & Gino’s Wheelbarrow Profits platform in early 2018, Branton knew multifamily was the way forward. Branton is founding principal of AOM Enterprises, focused on acquiring and stabilizing value-add multifamily properties throughout primary and secondary markets in Texas. He and his two business partners recently completed a full reposition of a 16-unit property in north Texas, successfully implementing all stages of the Buy Right, Finance Right, Management Right process, while overcoming the many challenges of investing remotely. Branton resides in Las Vegas, NV with his wife and one year old son. In addition to family life, w-2 job, and military reserve duty, Branton works tirelessly to scale AOM Enterprise’s holdings in an effort to reach his goal of matching his w-2 salary from passive sources by the close of 2020. Welcome to the Multi-FAMILY zone podcast, where business meets family. The hosts of the show, Julia and Gino Barbaro, have been married for over twenty years, and have six children. Julia homeschools the children, and recently became a marriage and life coach to help couples become better communicators and help enrich their lives. The couple is constantly asked about how they balance their entrepreneurial & real estate journey while raising their kids. The Multi-FAMILY zone was created to address. In this episode, the couple interviews their good friend Jim Sheils. Motivated by what he saw as one of the most tragic challenges of modern life—the disconnection of busy entrepreneurs from their families—Jim developed the Family Board Meeting process to help business owners bridge the gaps between themselves and their loved ones. Since then, both Jim’s message and his book, the Amazon best-seller “The Family Board Meeting,” have spread around the globe. Often called “Crazy Glue” for families, Jim’s popular and simple frameworks now reach thousands of parents worldwide, helping them feel more connected with their kids, be happier at home and leave a lasting legacy. Jim is the founder of 18 Summers, which specializes in live events, workshops and private consulting for organizations looking to strengthen their family lives while still succeeding in business. He’s an in-demand public speaker, and owns a private real estate company that has done more than $200 million in transactions. Jim is an avid surfer and enjoys traveling with family and friends, especially his beautiful wife Jamie and their four children, Alden, Leland, Magnolia, and Sampson. His greatest adventure to date?
