Tony Romo of CBS gets paid a ton of money. I for one don't understand the infatuation with the guy. He never stops. He doesn't let the game breathe and steps all over the big moments. Wow! What a weekend in the NFL! Many people are criticizing the Bills for not doing a squib kick with :13 left in regulation. Here's the bottom line. A team should not be able to go from their own 25 to the other team's 30 in two plays....just awful!!!! But not as awful as Bucs Defensive Coordinator Todd Bowles and his decision to call an all-out blitz which allowed the Rams to set up a chip shot game winning FG. Dallas QB Dak Prescott was fined $25K by the NFL for his remarks about the officials following Sunday's loss to the 49ers. Prescott called the fans throwing debris at his teammates as "sad". When he was informed that the fans were throwing stuff at the officials Dak replied, " credit to them, then". My question is why did it take two days for Prescott to apologize? The Sacramento Kings hosted the 10 win Detroit Pistons last night. The Pistons had also played the night before while the Kings had been off since Sunday. When you discuss the MVP this year in the NFL who has been more valuable than DeAndre Hopkins of the Cardinals. He suffered a knee injury when the Cardinals were 10-2. On Sunday Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott made a very disturbing remark about the officials after his team lost to the 49ers. MLB and the MLBPA met via Zoom for the first time in 42 days yesterday. The word is they are still very far apart in reaching a labor agreement and the players were less than impressed with the owner's new proposals. Talk about a league being out of touch with reality! Do they really think fans are going to be sympathetic? Spring Training is in serious jeopardy and once again it is the little guy on the food chain who will suffer the most from this work stoppage. Yesterday the Houston Texans fired head coach David Culley. This makes Mike Tomlin of the Steelers as the league's only Black head coach. I talk about the constant messaging by the league such as end racism and inspire change....the league has fallen way short when it comes to Black coaches in the league. I read a list of all the Black head coaches since 2000 and talk about the negative reaction by so many. I then talk about the labor impasse with MLB and the Player's Union. What a disgrace! Yesterday the Philadelphia 76ers met with Ben Simmons agent. Simmons has yet to play in a game this season and there appears to be no resolution in sight. Sixers President Daryl Morey said he isn't trading Simmons unless he receives fair market value in return. In the meeting Simmons agent Rich Paul said that his client is dealing with mental health hurdles. What the hell does that mean? On Sunday it was a gutty effort by 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo who helped get his team into the postseason. Lebron James is at it again. This time King James is calling for the head of Washington Wizards broadcaster Glenn Consor. Last week during the Rockets game Consor made a mistake regarding Kevin Porter Jr's father. Consor said after Porter hit a game winning shot, " Kevin porter Jr., like his dad, pulled that trigger right at the right time." Porter's father pleaded gulity to first manslaughter in a 1993 shooting death of a 14 year old girl. Consor thought Porter's father was former NBA player Kevin Porter. That didn't stop James from putting out a series of tweets calling for Consor's job. It never ends with James and his reckless behavior on social media. So, Antonio Brown releases text messages he had with Bucs Head Coach Bruce Arians showing that Arians knew of his ankle injury. Here is the bottom line, Brown's actions Sunday vs the Jets was an embarrassment. There is no defending his actions. It was one of the worst moments in recent memory for the NFL.
