Last night the Kings were blown out by the Pelicans 125-95. Sane story for the Kings! After the game DeAaron Fox talked about how it was a big game because they are chasing the Pelicans in the standings. Maybe Fox needs to look at the standings. The Kings are chasing all but five teams in the standings. And maybe Fox should learn how to shoot from three in the off season. Once again, he was awful from downtown hitting just 1-6 last night! So much for baseball starting as scheduled. MLB and MLBPA could not agree on a deal, so the first two series of the season has been cancelled by commissioner Rob Manfred. Yesterday I went to a Walgreen's to buy a few things. I am blown away by how many basic items are locked behind a glass partition. It is so damn frustrating. Even half of the toothpaste was locked up. I don't get it. Is it because of shoplifting? How does that stop shoplifting? The policy regarding Covid, vaccination status, what you can and cannot do remains beyond comprehension. Beginning March 7 New York City is removing the vaccination requirements for indoor dining, fitness and entertainment venues. That's great news for the Nets Kyrie Irving, right? Nope! The new mandate doesn't apply to private businesses. Roger Goodell became commissioner of the NFL in 2006. In the past two years he has made more than 120 million dollars. He makes a ton of money for his 32 bosses, the NFL owners, but one must wonder if his time is coming to an end. Goodell's record on policing his league has been wildly inconsistent and under his watch the league has failed miserably regarding minority hiring. Do you trust Goodell leading the NFL? Do you have confidence in him to make the right decisions? I think the answer to those questions by many is no! In today's episode I read a series of articles and headlines about Goodell pointing out his inconsistencies as commissioner. I also discuss the leaked emails from the Washington Football Team investigation that cost Raiders coach Jon Gruden his job. Do you know about Jalen and Jacoby? Jalen Rose and David Jacoby...they have a show on ESPN 2. Their commentary regarding the Kings-Pacers trave was embarrassing. Jacoby said the trade was so awful for Sacramento that the league should have nixed it. I guess he is unaware that Sabonis is a two-time all-star. Not as unaware as Rose though. Domantas Sabonis made his Kings debut last night and what a debut it was. The two time all-star scored 22points with 14 rebounds and 5 assistes enroute to the win over the Timberwolves. Yesterday on First Take, Smith said this to former Giants running back and now host at WFAN in New York: " I know a lot of stuff about you my brother, that I would never say because I have the decency not to say those things". It has not been a good few days for the NFL. Last week former Dolphins coach Brian Flores filed a class action lawsuit in Federal Court in Manhattan. Sunday Saints running back Alvin Kamara was arrested and charged with battery resulting in significant bodily harm. Subsequent surveillance video does not paint a favorable picture for Kamara. These arrests continue to be alarming for the NFL.. While the league has enjoyed excellent TV ratings it may be time for a new commissioner. Roger Goodell has made a lot of money for the owners, but his track record on social issues, domestic violence punishments among other things hasn't been good. I also talk about the reckless and absurd Stephen A. Smith of ESPN who yesterday on First Take pretty much threatened former NY Giant Tiki Barber, now a talk show host at WFAN in New York.
