Last night it was another embarrassing performance by the Sacramento Kings. After the game Kings Coach Alvin Gentry apologized to the fans and told them they deserve better. Boy is that ever true! What they deserve is new ownership. Vivek Ranadive has been a failure as owner. Kings fans will never forget him stepping in at the 11th hour to help save the franchise, but that honeymoon is long gone. It's time to hear from Vivek! Houston Rockets guard John Wall is closer to returning to action. There is just one problem though. He wants to be a featured player. The Rockets have just three wins...they are rebuilding. Wall makes a ton of money...trading him is near impossible. It makes no sense for Houston to make the 31 year old injury plagued guard a featured player. Last night NBA ref Tony Brown returned to work as he was a replay official. I talk about Tony and his battle with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. I've known Tony for a long time and he is just a gem. I talk about making someone's life better this holiday season. I also discuss Lebron James having two fans ejected from game in Indiana last week. In my opinion those fans should never be allowed back for a game. The stretch drive of the NFL season is underway and I discuss Lamar Jackson and why i don't trust him in a big spot. Last night Steph Curry scored 37 as the warriors routed the Nets in Brooklyn. How nice must it be to be a Golden state fan and watch Curry every night. He left the floor to chants of MVP last night which is unheard of for a visiting player. Good for him! He is an MVP on the floor and off the floor. The other great aspect was watching the Nets get blown out. I will never root for James Harden after the way he left Houston last year not to mention the self absorbed Kyrie Irving. It has been a rough few weeks for the Las Vegas Raiders. First they had to endure losing Jon Gruden and then two weeks ago Henry Ruggs lll was cut after being charged with a DUI causing death. I thought the Sacramento Kings identity this season was going to be defense. That's all I heard from coaches and players during the pre season. After last night's loss to the Phoenix Suns the Kings have the 5th worst defense in the conference. On August 19th, 2020 Thom Brennaman was announcing the Cincinnati Reds game. He uttered a gay slur over a "hot mic" seconds before coming back to "live" action. He was subsequently fired by the Reds and Fox Sports. Brennaman's apologies were ridiculed by many and on this episode he talks about what his life has been like since that night. Sacramento Kings are 5-5 thru the first 10 games of the NBA season. That's pretty good when you look at their schedule. What's not good is their 4th quarter play and that of DeAaron Fox who currently looks like the most overpaid player in the NBA. That needs to change soon if the Kings expect to be a playoff team. The Cleveland Browns are a mess right now. They are last in their division, and family members are making things worse thanks to social media. Earlier this week it was Odell Beckham's father posting video on social media insinuating that Baker Mayfield is intentionally not throwing the ball to him...now it's baker's wife Emily. Emily who has been very critical of the fans, and defending Baker in the past is now liking tweets from fans blaming other players for the Browns 4-4 start. Yes it is early, but the Kings are off to a pretty good start at 3-3. That's the good news. The bad news is DeAaron Fox looks awful and the team's point differential is minus 2.8. As I said I need more than six games to make concrete observations, but that is a number that must go from red to green if the Kings are to make the playoffs. Learn more about your ad choices. It is difficult to make too many concrete observations after two weeks oh the NBA season, but one alarming trend to me is 3pt attempts and percentage. The game continues to move away from the basket. Do you like that, because I don't! If you are a Sacramento Kings fans there are two things you should be concerned about. The first is point differential. The Kings have a minus 2.8 in that department. That is not good! Generally speaking all playoff teams are in the green at the end of the season. The other is DeAaron Fox and his poor play. You can be an optimist and say the Kings are 3-3 despite his poor start, or you can wonder if he will ever be a consistent shooter. Currently I would choose the latter as the biggest concern! Had you heard of Mike white before yesterday? White started at QB for the Jets and was 37-45 for 405 yards and 3 TD's. White who played in place of the injured Zach Wilson had the fans chanting out his name....a big difference from the boos that Wilson has been receiving.
