The Sacramento Kings named Mike Brown as their new coach earlier in the week. That was before Brown stepped in for Steve Kerr who is out due to Covid. The Warriors looked awful in Game 4 squeaking out a win over Memphis and looked worse in Game 5 getting blown out. StephenA Smith went on ESPN and called Mike Brown the luckiest man on earth. He said the Kings would not have hired Brown after watching him coach the last two games if they hadn't already signed the deal. How about the top seeds in each conference of the NBA? Miami and Phoenix look like two different teams at home and on the road. Last night Miami blew out Philly and Phoenix ran Dallas out of the gym. Speaking of running out of the gym, the Mavs Marquese Chriss and the Suns Bismack Biyombo got ejected and Chriss ran into the tunnel and down the hallway trying to confront Biyombo. Why? Draymond Green of the Golden St Warriors has had a history of misbehaving on the court. Now it has carried over to off the court. Green is now attacking sports talk icon Chris Russo for comments he made on last week's First Take on ESPN. Green basically called Russo a racist for his " shut up and play" comment. Green tweeted a screenshot of a tweet of mine from May 31, 2020 regarding Russo's use of the N word when he was nine years old at my house. Green put above the screen shot, "there's our guy. As you watch Minnesota and Memphis battle it out in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, remember they were both in the lottery in 2020. Yesterday Wimbledon announced that players from Russia and Belarus will not be allowed to participate in this year's tournament due to the invasion of Ukraine. Novak Djokovic who was a war child in his native Serbia called the decision crazy. The last time Wimbledon banned players was post WWII. What's odd about this decision is the same players banned from Wimbledon can compete at the French Open next month as neutral athletes. It seems that our athletes, particularly in the NBA, are having more and more issues with fans at the games. This past week we saw kyrie Irving of the Nets flip off the fans in Boston. Where do we draw the line? What type of behavior is acceptable for the fans and in return how should the players react to fans comments? This issue seems to be becoming more and more prevalent. The Nets Kyrie Irving got into it again with some of the Boston Fans yesterday. Same story...Irving feels like he is justified in giving the fans the finger. Maybe he is, maybe he isn't. He needs to look in the mirror though. He created this situation due to his actions while playing for the Celtics and then stomping on their logo at midcourt last season.
