WCPEver Episode 276 - Creatures of October: Frankenstein's Monster

Without trying to jinx ourselves, we hopefully have seen the last days of summer and can now fully embrace the fall season, specifically October. Some people are here for the pumpkin spice, but the guys from the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! are here for the monsters. Over the next four weeks, we are going to be looking at the legendary monsters of comic books (as well as movies, television shows and classic novels). And to get things started, we will take a look at Frankenstein's Monster from writer Mary Shelley. Frankenstein's Monster has been depicted in many ways over the years. Surprisingly, many takes are very true to the original Shelley novel, but we see variations of the theme across multiple eras. Whether he is a mindless beast or an Agent of S.H.A.D.E., Frankenstein can be dropped into almost any story with minimal introduction. We also have our weekly Pick 3 choices. Jerry throws the guys a curve by choosing a book outside of his normal reading list. This isn't just any random book - this pick will be going into the Guinness Book of World Records. Seriously! John has another updated on Titans, Cullen talks about a new comic initiative from Axel Alonso, and Jerry has been taking advantage of his local library. With all of this FREE goodness this week, finish reading and start listening! We would love to hear your comments on the show. Let us know what you've been reading or watching this week. Contact us on our website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or by email. We want to hear from you! As always, we are the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! and we hope you enjoy the show. The Worst. Comic. WCPEver Episode 275 - The Joker

"Some people call me the space cowboy yeah... Some call me the gangster of love... Some people call me Maurice... 'Cause I speak of the pompitous of love..." Finally, the guys from the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! sit down to discuss the Steve Miller Band's hit from 1973, The Joker! See, we can make a joke. We're funny guys, right? Why so serious? With his first solo movie just a week away, the guys sit down this week to talk all things Joker - favorite comic stories, the nature of the Joker, big-screen takes on the character and more. We are sure our conversation will put a smile on your face. If it doesn't, we've got some Joker gas for you to make things right! We also have our weekly Pick 3 choices. John is hosting so we try to guess his pick. And there is a Legion of Super-Heroes book coming out. Hmmmmm, whatever will he pick? We would love to hear your comments on the show. WCPE Episode 274 - Rose City Comic Con Recap

Cullen is back! Fresh off his appearance at Rose City Comic Con last weekend, Cullen has stories of people he saw, comics he bought and the incredible people he encountered at the convention. John is back! Giving the new season of Titans another look, John was very impressed with the second episode and feels that the second year show is back on the way up. Jerry is back! After a trip downtown to Clint's Comics, Jerry sat down for an interview on the Technically Drinking podcast. What's more, he brings back a challenge to WCPEver and our loyal listeners. WCPEver Episode 273 - 50 is the New 49

While Cullen is taking care of things in Portland for Rose City Comic Con, John and Jerry sit down for our weekly comic chat. And this week, we talk about it all. New books, old books, print books, digital books. Plus some TV and Con talk. We have two Kickstarters going on by friends of the show, and we would love you to take a look and consider supporting the projects: Cat & Mouse #2 from Silverline Comics. Roland Mann and his team is back with the follow-up issue to last year's Kickstarter. Check out the interview we did for that Kickstarter with WCPEver Episode 204. Demons in the Darkness is a look at school bullying told as a horror comic. Creator David Doub has crafted a story set in 1990s Texas, and mixed together a fantasy story using real-life experiences from his days in high school. For our Pick 3 this week, we had Cullen provide his selection in advance. So we turned things around this week, with Jerry guessing John's pick and John guessing Jerry's pick. So you got to ask yourself, how well do these guys know each other's reading habits? John got a chance to watch episode 1 of the second season of Titans on the DC Universe app. He has a lot of thoughts to share on this episode, so get comfortable. We also talk about the "new" releases on the Marvel and DC digital platforms for your reading pleasure. What could you be reading this week that came out six or twelve months ago? This is your final reminder! Cullen can be found at Rose City Comic Con this weekend. He will be at booth 1003, a.k.a. the Hero Initiative booth, with special guests Ryan Sook and Liam Sharp. WCPEver Episode 272 - November Solicits and WCPEver 5.0

Welcome to WCPEver 5.0! Very quietly over the summer, the podcast entered it's fifth year of comic talking, which according to our top-notch research team, makes us the longest-running lowest-rate show in our demographic. We are proud to be the Worst. And we are pleased that you, our loyal listeners, come back for the Worst each and every week. Now, to add to the numbers of year five of podcasting, the odometers for each of us are going to roll over to 50 over the next nine months. John leaves the 49 club behind in a matter of hours as this podcast is posted, with Jerry following in two months. The youngster of the bunch, Cullen, will join 50 next June. (And yes, he still gets carded!) We are all excited for the new opportunities being 50 gives us, such as additional medical exams and those sweet AARP discounts. We wanted to mark year 5 & year 50 on the podcast in some way, and we came up with WCPEver 5.0. Special thanks as always to friend of the show and Photoshop wizard Brent Kincade for the new updated logo for us to use over the next year. We will find some more ways to celebrate 5.0 over the next year, and we want you to be part of that. Now, on to the show. We are taking a look at the November 2019 solicits, so you can start planning now for books to be picking up ahead of your Thanksgiving holiday. Give it a good listen. If there is a book that sounds interesting, be sure to tell your local comic shop so they can order you a copy. We do have our Pick 3 selections for next week, sponsored by the great people at Clint's Comics. Our picks for next week come from the big two publishers, which doesn't really narrow down the list that much as Cullen and John attempt to guess Jerry's selection. Remember, you can find Cullen at Rose City Comic Con in September next weekend. He will be at booth 1003, a.k.a. the Hero Initiative booth, with special guests Ryan Sook and Liam Sharp. We would love to hear your comments on the show. Let us know what you've been reading or watching this week. Contact us on our website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or by email. WCPEver Episode 271 - Disney+, Take My Money!

Cullen, John & Jerry are back in the recording studios this week, ready to spread the wonderful message of comic books to the masses. Or maybe we're just hanging out in our basements chatting like we normally do on a Wednesday night. Either way, our loyal listeners are the big winners, so let's get going with the show. Obviously, the big news from the past week was the D23 convention in California. Disney made up for the lack of trailers and announcements at San Diego Comic Con earlier this summer with a wide range of show news, sneak peeks and more info on the rollout of Disney+, the new streaming service that will begin service in November this year. We review the new show announcements for Disney+, such as Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, Moon Knight and (FINALLY) an Obi-Wan Kenobi show starring Ewan McGregor. Take our money now! But wait, there's more. Did you see the trailer for The Mandalorian? What about the Star Wars Episode 9 trailer? Disney, we will give you our bank account information, along with our mothers' maiden names, RIGHT NOW! Sadly, we have to wait about 10 more weeks for the official rollout. While we are waiting, it gives us the opportunity to catch-up on some other shows. John has been watching the first(/last) season of Swamp Thing on the DC Universe app, while Jerry has finished the most recent season of Supergirl. We do have our Pick 3 selections for next week, sponsored by the good people at Clint's Comics. Cullen and Jerry had to guess John's pick for next week, not that it was much of a competition. It was a no-brainer that John would be choosing Legion of Super-Heroes Millennium #1 for his pick. But what did the other guys pick? Tune in and find out. Remember, you can find Cullen at Rose City Comic Con in September in just two weeks. WCPEver Episode 270 - Mail Call!

It's another week with just two of the guys in the studios. But do not fear! This does not mean that your listening experience will be 33% less spectacular. It does mean that you get more Cullen and Jerry this week. (No worries, though! You can rest assured that the dulcet tones of John will be coming to you next week via your earbuds!) As always, we start out the show with our Pick 3 selections, sponsored by the fine people of Clint's Comics. Jerry is tasked with guessing Cullen's pick for the week. Let's just say it didn't go well.... Next up, we get into the surprising news from this week, as Sony and Marvel Studios announced the end of their partnership of using Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We share our thoughts, but quite honestly, no one believes this story is completely finished yet. As we are quick to point out, the answer to most every question in life these days is MONEY. If there is money to be made, and there is, then a deal will eventually be worked out. We hope! Next up is a mail call! Cullen and Jerry each got some comic goodness in the mail this past week, and held off opening up the packages until this recording. Because nothing, absolutely NOTHING, is better for an audio-only podcast than people opening packages. We give you the best each week on the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! You'll also get some updates for Rose City Comic Con in September, like where you can find Cullen at on the show floor. Hint -- it's table 1003 at the Hero Initiative booth with special guests Ryan Sook and Liam Sharp. We would love to hear your comments on the show. (Truthfully, we know that many of our listeners love us! But it doesn't hurt to remind us every now and then via email.) We also discuss the passing of artist Ernie Colón. WCPE Episode 261 - Legends Summer Reading Part 1

Welcome to our summer reading program with the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! This year, we are looking at DC's Legends event from 1986. From the creative team of John Ostrander, Len Wein, John Byrne and Karl Kesel, this first company-wide event post-Crisis has Darkseid trying to destroy the heroes of Earth, both literally and figuratively. This event ran 28 issues, so we are going to break this up over four sessions. For this week's reading, we will be covering the following issues if you want to follow along at home. Batman #401 Detective Comics #568 Legends #1 The Green Lantern Corps #207 Legends #2 Cosmic Boy #1 Justice League of America #258 In addition to our comic reading, we also get a report on a con Cullen attended last weekend in Washington state; the celebration in St. Louis of the Blues winning the Stan Lee Cup; and a monthly visit to Clint's Comics. We also have our Pick 3 for new books coming out next week. John and Cullen attempt to guess Jerry's pick, which ends up surprising the guys. Remember that John and Jerry can be seen this weekend in Hutchinson, KS, for the Smallville Con. We are excited to once again be hosting the celebrity panels throughout the day on Saturday. Attend one or attend all six, we would love to see you there. We would love to hear your comments on the show. Let us know what you've been reading or watching this week. WCPE Episode 260 - Summer Convention Preview

It's time, loyal listeners! We are taking the show on the road, so to speak, for the next two weeks. First up is a visit to Hutchinson, KS, for the Smallville Con. In fact, for the weekend, the town will rename itself Smallville. This is one of our favorite cons to hit each summer, and this year will be no exception. Look for a Superman (or Atom) sighting with an appearance by Brandon Routh. Other guests appearing include Richard Brake, Judith Hoag, Claudia Christian, Stacy Haiduk, Neo Edmund and many more. Jerry and John will be hosting the panels throughout the weekend, so please make plans to attend some of them. This con runs June 22 and 23 are the Kansas State Fairgrounds. The following weekend, John will be flying solo as he heads up to Omaha for the O Con Expo. Entering it's fifth year, this show is a fun event for the whole family. Seriously, how many other cons have Corgis? And how many other cons have Sam Jones, Mark Russell, Kate Flannery, Gigi Edgley, Ant Lucia, and more? You can find John moderating panels throughout the weekend. This con runs June 28, 29 and 30 at the MAC Center in Council Bluffs, IA. But before we go all Con talk for an hour, we have to get our selections made for next week's PIck 3 for new books coming out June 19. John throws us a curve ball and does not pick a DC book. WHAT?!?!? He left the guys speechless and stumped, until we found a "new" book from a creator who has been interviewed on this incredible podcast. Put your guesses in now! We would love to hear your comments on the show. Let us know what you've been reading or watching this week. Contact us on our website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or by email. WCPE Episode 259 - Impossible Jones Kickstarter with Karl Kesel

Who's ready for the IMPOSSIBLE? Who's JONES'in for a new Kickstarter to support? Well, if you can answer YES to either question (or any question, really!), then we have the book for you this week. Check out the Impossible Jones Kickstarter, as we sit down to talk to Karl Kesel about his new project. Impossible Jones is the co-creation of Karl and artist David Hahn. Impossible Jones is a super-villain that gets mistaken for a super-hero, and decides to run with that. With equal parts Harley Quinn and Plastic Man, you'll consider breaking the law to get your hands on this book. But trust us, you don't have to do that! Go out to InpossibleKickstarter.com to find out how you can support this project and steal.... we mean, take home some incredibly cool swag. Now, you have until July 2 to make your pledge, but seriously you do not want to wait until the last minute to sign up. You want to do that today! Right now! Well, listen to the podcast first, THEN go out and make your pledge. In addition to talking all things Impossible Jones, Karl was also so kind to tell us about working on DC's Legends mini-series from 1986. As loyal listeners know, we have selected Legends as our summer reading event. After talking to Karl, we are all ready to get started reading this event! As always, we make our weekly Pick 3 selections for new books coming out on June 12. We try to guess Cullen's pick for next week, and you can probably guess how well that played out. WCPE Episode 258 - Summer Movies, Summer Reading, and Summer Weather

School's out for the summer! Time to figure out which movies to watch over the upcoming months, and to figure out what we will be reading in between showings at the multiplex. We run down some of the movies that will be taking our money in the weeks ahead. From Dark Phoenix to Spider-Man: Far From Home to The Kitchen and more, we have plans to see some flicks this summer. In addition, we will be taking on a summer reading project. We will be taking advantage of John's subscription to the DC Universe app, and run down some of the events available on the service. Be sure to listen carefully when Cullen figures out how many books would be involved with a Crisis reading. You can hear the switch being flipped to turn on the light bulb above his head. For our weekly Pick 3 selections for new books coming out on June 5, the guys manage to name John's choice on our first guess. How well we know each other's reading choices. WCPE Episode 257 - July Solicits and Cotton Fitzsimmons

It's another fun roundtable discussion this week on the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! We get to sit around and talk about comics, the weather, and even recall the glory years of the Kansas City Kings. We discuss the news coming out on the Falcon & Winter Soldier series, which will be on the Disney Plus platform. Casting news and a director have us all very excited to see where this series goes. The hot topic of the day was rumor/announcement that Tom King would no longer be the writer on Batman, falling about 15-20 issues short of his 100-issue goal. We speculate on the reasons for the change, and what could be next. Of course, we have our weekly Pick 3 for new books coming out on May 29. Cullen and John struggle to name Jerry's selection before finally naming the correct title. Finally, we review the July 2019 solicits from the major (and some minor) publishers. Now, if you hear us talk about a book that really interests you, please make sure to tell your local comic shop so they can make sure to have it on hand for you come July. We would love to hear your comments on the show. Let us know what you've been reading or watching this week. Contact us on our website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or by email. WCPE Episode 256 - Trekker Kickstarter 3 with Ron Randall

All good things come in increments of three, right? Just think about it. There's Charlie's Angels, and Earth, Wind & Fire, of course. Heck, you could even put the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! trio of Cullen, John and Jerry on that list -- maybe! But what will soon be added to the great lists of three is the third Trekker Kickstarter from creator Ron Randall. This new Kickstarter will launch on May 28, running for a full month until June 27. This project is to help fund a collection of all-new material featuring everyone's favorite bounty, Mercy St. Clair. (Say, that reminds me... favorite bounty hunters - Mercy St. Clair, Boba Fett, and Dog.) So far, Ron is 2-for-2 with his Kickstarter projects, and he aims to keep that record perfect with this new launch. Expect lots of great incentive prizes to get people bidding early and bidding often. We will share a link to the Kickstarter once it launches later this month. However, we're not done running the "great things come in threes" joke into the ground. Because we lead off the show with our Pick 3 selections for next week. John and Jerry do their best to guess Cullen's selection. Be sure to listen carefully, because we have a FREE giveaway going on with our friends at Fenix Comix in Peculiar, MO. Hopefully you saw John and Jerry's guest appearance on their Facebook Live show last week. While we were there, Jerry found a copy of one of his all-time favorite comics in the back issue bins - Showcase #100 from 1978. You could get this comic for FREE, but you have to listen to the show to find out how! Only one of you will win - who will it be? (Man, I wish we had three copies of Showcase #100 to give away.) WCPE Episode 255 - Let's Play with Leeanne Krecic

The Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! is proud to be joined by Leeanne "Mongie" Krecic, the creator of the Eisner-nominated webcomic Let's Play. Over the last 18 months, Let's Play has become one of the most popular webcomics, with thousands of readers looking forward to the weekly updates of game programmer Sam Young and game reviewer Marshall Law. We are sure that you will be hooked once you read the first episodes, all of which are completely FREE on the Webtoons site. Mongie recently completed a Kickstarter to create a print edition of Let's Play Season 1. With a very modest goal of raising $10,000, that was exceeded in the first day. Tune in to find out how well the campaign went. And if that wasn't enough good news, Let's Play was nominated for an Eisner Award for best webcomic. Before we get started with our interview, John and Jerry go over the Pick Three selections for next week. WCPE Episode 253 - Solution Squad with Jim McClain

We are so excited to share our latest interview with you, as we sit down to talk with Solution Squad creator Jim McClain. Jim's day job (for now) is as a middle school math teacher. Several years ago, Jim started a project to combine his love of comics with teaching math, and came up with the Solution Squad, which features a team of math-based superheroes. Each story allows the team members to showcase their abilities to find the solution. From the initial first issue to a hard cover collection and more, Jim has found ways to get his books into students' hands around the country. He has spoken at comic conventions and education forums about using comics as a learning tool for young adults. Jim has a new project in the works, Poe and the Mysteriads, which you should take a look at too. Keep an eye out for Jim at upcoming shows - you can find him at the Cherry Capital Comic Con in Traverse City, MI, at the end of May. Before we get started with our interview, we have our friendly banter, discuss some recent reads, make our selections for Pick Three for next week and more. WCPE Episode 252 - Books With Pictures Kickstarter

We love supporting projects from our friends, so it was a big thrill for us to sit down to discuss the Books With Pictures Kickstarter. Cullen and Jerry spoke to Katie Proctor with BWP and Sean Wynn with Strange Solutions about the project. Books With Pictures is a mainstay in the Portland comic scene, providing a wide selection of books promoting inclusivity and diverse representation. With weekly events, BWP is more than just a bookstore - it's an anchor in their community. An opportunity presented itself for Katie to relocate BWP to a larger historic building just down the street from their current location. That part is done, but the real work comes with finishing the store relocation. The Kickstarter will cover the remodel costs, new store fixtures and other relocation expenses. In return, there is some INCREDIBLE reward packages, from enamel pins to original art to a custom-made Captain Marvel sweater. Tune in to find out all of the details and how YOU can help support this project, which runs until May 7. But before you can tune in to the interview, we have our Pick 3 selections for books coming out next week. John and Jerry try to guess Cullen's pick for next Wednesday. Much like the classic TV show Name That Tune, we see how few guesses we can use to name that book. We would love to hear your comments on the show. WCPE Episode 251 - Con Crud Edition

We are back in our home studios this week, safely isolated from the outside world. See, the Kansas contingent of the WORST. COMIC. PODCAST. EVER! came down with the con crud following Planet Comicon. While we don't believe we are still contagious, we are playing things safe and staying safely apart from each other. Now before the con crud took us down, we had a spectacular time at Planet Comicon. Our panel (which you heard last week!) was a spectacular success, in our very humble opinion. In addition, we got to host some incredible panels with the main creator guests of the con. We give you the details of our time at Bartle Hall. We also did a lot of hustling for the Hero Initiative. With donation buckets on creator tables, our raffle of the DC Trinity statue and some great Hero Initiative merchandise, we raised over $5,000 for Hero. That's two years in a row that we have topped $5,000. Thank you, Kansas City! THANK YOU! We have our Pick 3 selections for books coming out next week. John and Cullen try to guess Jerry's pick for next Wednesday. Can they pick the right book? In addition, we talk about the first appearance controversy with Major X at Marvel, and Superman putting a lot of faith in the Wonder Twins. We would love to hear your comments on the show. WCPE Episode 250 - LIVE From Planet Comicon 2019

You are in for a real treat today, loyal listener! For you are about to experience in your ears the 250th episode of the WORST. COMIC. PODCAST. EVER! This episode was recorded LIVE at the 2019 Planet Comicon in Kansas City, MO, on March 30 before the best panel audience ever assembled. Before we could even get started, we had to debut our brand new THEME SONG! We have had this in development for a while, but we saved it for this anniversary celebration. Big thanks to Brent Kincade and Steve Ames for their help with the tune! John put together a fun Spider-Man-themed game, coming up with future movie titles for the Tom Holland franchise. Then we answered audience questions, that ranged over who would win in a fight (we picked Cullen because he climbs mountains!), what are other interests outside of comics include (seriously, ask Jerry about his proposal story), and our guilty pleasure comics (John loves the TRaSh-80s). Now, we couldn't get to 250 episodes without some thanks along the way. From the con, big thanks to Chris Jackson and the Planet Comicon crew for hosting the best party in Kansas City. As always, a huge thanks to the podcast sponsor, Clint's Comics, located in the heart of Kansas City at 3941 Main St. We would love to hear your comments on the show. WCPE Episode 248 - Con Air

On this week's episode of the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER!, the countdown is on to Planet Comicon. When this podcast goes out, we will be just one week away from the biggest Planet Comicon EVER! But before we can talk PCC, we have to talk some comics with our Pick 3 selections for next week. As much as we would like to run down a lot of new books, all of the talk for next week is Detective Comics #1000. We make our picks based on the many variable covers available for this issue. John and Jerry got the opportunity to see an early screening of Shazam!, a welcome addition to the DC Cinematic Universe. Holy Moley! This was a FUN movie. It does get dark at times, but the vast majority of this film is family friendly. We keep our discussion spoiler-free, as hard as that was for us to keep the secret reveal at the end of the movie.... Now, you should know by now where to find us at Planet Comicon. We will be manning the Hero Initiative table at #1030. We will also be hosting out WCPE panel at 10:30 AM on Saturday. WCPE Episode 241 - Section Zero with Karl Kesel

On this week's episode of the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER!, Cullen and Jerry sit down with legendary comic creator Karl Kesel to discuss his book Section Zero. But wait... There is no Section Zero! Karl and artist Tom Grummett first launched Section Zero on an imprint label with Image Comics. The project was put on hold due to other commitments by the creators, until finally it was brought back out last year with a very successful Kickstarter campaign. Section Zero reads like a love letter to Jack Kirby, reminiscent of the comics filled with adventure and action. A government team tracks down the unusual, from UFOs and dinosaurs to aliens and monsters. You know you want to read this, right? Well, good news for you then, as Image Comics will be releasing (or is that re-releasing?) Section Zero beginning in April. Be sure to tell your local comic shop to hold a copy or two for you! We have our Pick 3 choices for books coming out next week at your local comic book shops. John phoned in his pick for the week, and Cullen struggled to guess Jerry's pick despite a lot of clues. WCPE Episode 240 - George Pérez and March Solicits

On this week's episode of the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER!: We discuss the retirement announcement from legendary creator George Pérez. Due to his ongoing health issues, George announced over the weekend that he will be stepping away from future comic work. All three of us have grown up reading his comics, and we all have had the pleasure of meeting him in person multiple times. We share our thoughts on his career, our favorite runs, and even our favorite covers done by Pérez. We have our Pick 3 choices for books coming out next week at your local comic book shops. It doesn't happen often, but we did not pick a single book from Marvel or DC. Instead, we have picks from Dark Horse, IDW and Image Comics. Can you guess our picks? We finish things up with a look ahead at the solicits for books coming out in March. It's not too late to let your local shop know what you want to pick up. We give you our highlights of books we want to read this spring. Remember you can find Cullen at the Hero Initiative table at Wizard World Portland, which runs February 22-24, 2019. WCPE Episode 239 - Jerry Didn't Get John His Books Again This Week

So you may not have seen this on your calendar this week, but Wednesday, January 16, was National Nothing Day. Completely true. Couldn't make this up if we tried. It was very appropriate, because as we did a check in our group chat, the general consensus was that we had nothing to talk about this week. Nonetheless, we persisted in talking about something for well over an hour. Of course, you will get your Kansas City and Portland weather updates. We skipped over the old man aches and pains section of the show -- sorry to disappoint all five of you who enjoy hearing about our ailments. We know who you are! We've got our Pick 3 choices, sponsored each and every week by Clint's Comics. This week, Cullen & John try to guess Jerry's pick. It took a couple of tries, but they finally succeeded. Yay, team! We run down some recent reads. Jerry bunkered down during the first storm of January with both his new books and John's new books, and did a lot of reading of paper comics. John and Cullen opted for some digital reading on Comixology and Marvel Unlimited. We all got to watch the Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer that debuted earlier in the week. Given Spider-Man's last appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he seems to be feeling much better. We are already counting down the days to the release of the movie in early July. We have another giveaway this week! Who wants a copy of the new Conan the Barbarian #1 signed by Jason Aaron? Well, tune in for the question and be the first to respond. We wrap things up with a look ahead to the AFC Championship game being played at Arrowhead Stadium for the first time EVER! We are concerned that first-fan-of-the-show James Taylor appears to be rooting for the team from New England. Our best guess is that James has been kidnapped and replaced with a Skrull. We would love to hear your comments on the show. Let us know what you've been reading or watching this week. Contact us on our website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or by email. WCPE Episode 238 - Goodnight Paradise with Joshua Dysart

On this week's episode of the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER!, we sit down with writer Joshua Dysart to talk about his new book, Goodnight Paradise, from TKO Studios. Goodnight Paradise is a traditional murder-mystery set within the homeless community of southern California. From the book: "When down-and-out Eddie stumbles upon the body of a murdered teenage runaway, he vows to bring her killers to justice. His investigation brings him into the darkest truths of his beachside town, where he finds he may be the only one who cares enough to solve this murder." In our discussion with Joshua, we find out that this story has been years in the making. We get the insights into what brought this all together now. We learn how artist Alberto Ponticelli and colorist Giulia Brusco brought their incredible talents to this project. Now, if you are wanting to check this out, go to the TKO Studios site to pick up this story however you want to read it. You can get it as a trade paperback, as six individual issues, or as a PDF download. You can even read the entire first issue of this series (and all other TKO titles) for FREE! Seriously, try it before you buy it. How can you lose? In addition to our interview, we have our weekly Pick 3 selections for next Wednesday, January 16. We try to guess Cullen's pick this week, and make some interesting choices. We also have an exciting announcement for Planet Comicon coming up in March.
