This is How The Universe Rewards Your Faith

Choosing to detach from an outcome, can seem extremely conflictual, and it is hard for people to understand. One of the common questions I get is this: “How do you have goals yet remain detached from an outcome?” The truth is, I’m very driven toward the goals I set. I try to take my ego and time, two driving factors for many, out of my goal setting. What I do is this: I set a goal, and at the same time, I detach my happiness from the goal. I do not create an immediate plan to get to my goal. My plan, when I start out, is simply to provide value toward that overall goal every single day, making sure I put forth a minimum amount of effort toward the achievements I want and “raising the bar” each day as I proceed, in order to build momentum.

How to Find True Happiness

There is one truth I believe holds true for all entrepreneurs, the reality of achieving your goal, no matter how much effort it takes to reach it, will not make you happy. Michael Jordan said, “Winning isn’t always championships.” Attaching emotional success to achievement or believing that achieving your goals is the path to happiness is what leads to unhappiness. Unfortunately, we tend to attach our happiness as business leaders to the results we achieve. We tell ourselves things phrases like: “Once I get the funding, I’ll be happy.” “After I land that client, I’ll be happy.” “Once I make my first million dollars, I’ll be happy.” Guess what never comes, even if you achieve those goals? Your happiness.

The #1 Way You're Wasting All Your Energy

One of the biggest keys for any business leader comes from an understanding of the ego and how it tends to put us on a trajectory in the wrong direction. Ego Edges Goodness Out of your life. Why? The ego has illusionary needs, which can create a waste of your time and energy. The ego also has the need to be right or to be offended. It can cause you to feel a need to be separate, inferior, or superior. Ego can cause fear, guilt, or shame. It will have you searching for recognition for your achievements, instead of simply being happy with what you have achieved. One of our biggest problems comes when we get caught living in this ego-based consciousness and accelerate into the negative emotions we are experiencing. Our ego causes fear, which is followed by fear-based reactions. Those fear-based reactions are what cause us to end up off-track.

The Reason Why You Aren't Seeing Results Right Away

One of the things I stress about why you shouldn’t quit is that you need to press and keep pressing everything to get the most out of the opportunities afforded to you. An analogy I like to use to explain this is a blade of grass pushing through the soil to enjoy everything the sun has to offer. The fragile bit of grass is beneath tons of soil and stone. It doesn't know if it is getting nearer to the surface and the sun, it only knows the direction it must keep pushing. Not until the instant it breaks through the cold soil into the light does it know the effort will be rewarded. A blade of grass, of course, doesn't suffer from the doubt and second thoughts that make our path seem harder as we get closer to our objective. In fact, so many times when we are just about to succeed and grow free in the light is when we quit because the dirt is just too hard. That isn’t what you want to do. In order to break through and become the person you want to become, you have to weather the layers of uncertainty and get through the “rocks” of life. Bet on yourself and the abundance of the universe with confidence knowing that when all is said and done everything the “Sun” or “light” has to offer will be worth the effort and trials. Everything will come in the right way at the perfect time ... just don’t quit.

Understanding This Made Me Rich

When striving for increased profitability, I like to look at it from a perspective of receiving. I want to receive as much as possible, so that I can give as much as possible. Recognize that one is not possible without the other, and you need to receive something first in order to give it. Power of 64 - Make productivity a prime focus of your career or passion. Look to increase your efficiency, effectiveness, and statistical success whenever possible. Buy Low and Sell High - Create a profit margin in order to become more profitable, its a straightforward approach. The key here is not to waste too much time or energy trying to buy at the lowest point and sell at the highest point. Pre-Sell - Consider how you might be able to use your skills, knowledge, and desire in order to broker a deal for others and create additional profit with less effort. Identify Your Timing and Risk Tolerance - Be clear (and reasonable) with the investments you make, taking into account how much risk you are willing to take and when you expect returns on that investment. Take Emotions Out of Spending - Have a plan for the profits you make and stick to it. It can be helpful to predetermine percentages ahead of time for how the money will be spent (or invested), taking emotion out of the equation. Save and Then Save Some More - Make sure that when you are predetermining what you are spending, you are also planning for savings. Referral Agreement - Another way to make a profit with minimal effort comes from effective use of referral agreements. When you are making profitable introductions for others, ensure that you have a system in place to be compensated fairly. Tweet me your takeaway from today’s episode @davidmeltzer Email Me! How to Avoid Burnout and Stay Inspired

Inspiration goes two ways, but first know that you are accountable for your own inspiration. When you are inspired, you are empowered to invest more (not sacrifice more) to get what you want, if you truly want it. Take accountability for yourself. Find what you love to do and align it with what must be done. Then, work to surround yourself with the right people. When I say, “the right people,” I mean the parts of the people you are most attracted to the parts of others that bring you confidence, make you feel happy, or empower you to be your best self. Building Your Brand | Road to Revenue #132

William Shakespeare was a genius in many ways, but there are two ideas of his which are crucial to building any brand. The first, which comes from the play As You Like It, is something that has become even more important over time: “All the world's a stage”. With the prevalence of platforms like social media, the entire world is truly our stage today, and we must take full advantage of that stage in order to build, grow, and sustain a brand. We can transmit our brand’s frequency anywhere, with countless access points and mediums to connect with others, enabling us to potentially reach billions with our message. Using what I call the Stage Theory allows us to turn moments into content that elevates our brand and spreads awareness for the value it brings others. The other piece of the Bard’s advice comes from the character Polonius in Hamlet: “This above all: to thine own self be true...”. Authenticity is a vital component of branding today, because the truth is what vibrates the fastest. Authentic truth is what connects us to others, logically and emotionally. The more truthful and authentic your brand’s message is, as well as the people sharing it, the better it will resonate with others. We don’t just want people to see or hear about the brand, we want them to feel it.

4 Values That Changed My Life For The Better

Everything in life, from the construction of a building to a relationship, requires a solid foundation, or it will crumble. If certain things are not in place, you’ll not be able to support all of the other things you wish to accomplish. We want that foundation and support to be solid. We want that foundation and support to be concrete with steel rods, not balsa wood. We want to create the best foundation to manifest things faster and more accurately. Values provide that foundation. No matter what you attract in your life, identify, prioritize, and utilize your own values to build the foundation that best will provide clarity, balance, and focus with confidence. Confidence in what you’re trying to manifest will attract what you desire.

Embrace Rejection & Learn to Love Hearing “NO”

For many of us, hearing no can be tough to handle. What I try and do is re- engineer the way that people think about getting a “No”. Think about it this way: What if I told you that you are 25 “No’s” away from getting what you want most? How excited would you be to get the first “No”? How about the 24th? Take the perspective that you are a finite amount of “No’s” away from getting to that “Yes”. We might not always know what that number is, we only know that we are one step closer.

The Life Changing Lessons I Learned From Losing Everything

When I experienced bankruptcy for myself, I knew that I had a strong foundation to fall back on: my values. Take inventory of the values (personal, experiential, giving, and receiving) that make you who you are now and then imagine the person you want to become. Build around the values those people have in common. When you start from a strong foundation, whatever your core values may be, you will have to find people to help drive you forward in your goals. Having a set of principles and standards will attract the right people around you, and it will also empower you to cut ties with associates who aren’t a great fit. It will prepare you to foster beneficial relationships with family, friends, business associates, and even develop mentoring relationships. We must not only think, say, and do the right things to attract the right people. We must also believe the right things and even carry the right energy. This can happen only if we incorporate our values into every aspect of our life and business. If we want to live a grateful life for example, we cannot only think grateful thoughts. We must take grateful action as well, show this gratitude for ourselves and others consistently and with persistence. Tweet me your takeaway from today’s episode @davidmeltzer Email Me! Think About This The Next Time You FEEL STUCK

5 Ways to SELL ANYTHING

1. Stimulate Interest: Stimulate interest for availability first, meaning practice getting people to respond to your calls, texts, emails, and social media messages first. Then, focus on stimulating interest for your business or services. 2. Transition the Interest: Emotionally connect with who you’re targeting. Then, transition their interest through professional collateral and a clear explanation of true value. Use the 100/20 Rule: be able to articulate that your customers will receive $100 of value for every $20 they spend. 3. Share the Vision: Share the vision of true value. You want to demonstrate the value you’ll be providing in relation to the customer’s personal values, experiential values, giving and receiving values. Make them see the win-win situation in doing business together. 4. Manage and Develop the Vision: Manage and develop a vision by providing the value that you promised. Don’t oversell, rather help them manage and develop their expectations. 5. Thrive: When you’ve done all four previous steps correctly, consistently, and persistently, you thrive. Thrivation is, in essence, getting your customers or other people outside of your organization to sell your product or service for you. This means that you make a lot of money, help a lot of people, and have a lot of fun! Tweet me your takeaway from today’s episode @davidmeltzer Email Me!
