Creating a Happy Relationship With Your Significant Other | Road to Revenue #99
The basis of my love for others is simple: I have faith in something bigger than myself. I believe that there is something out there that loves me more than I love even my wife and children, it keeps me protected and promoted at all times, rather than punishing me. When you hold this belief, it helps you pay attention to coincidences in life, including the people that you are meant to be with. Tweet me your takeaway from today’s episode @davidmeltzer Email Me! This is How You Should Be Setting Your Goals
This choice, choosing to detach from an outcome, can seem extremely conflictual, and it is hard for people to understand. One of the common questions I get is this: “How do you have goals yet remain detached from an outcome?” The truth is, I’m very driven toward the goals I set. I try to take my ego and time, two driving factors for many, out of my goal setting. What I do is this: I set a goal, and at the same time, I detach my happiness from the goal. I do not create an immediate plan to get to my goal. My plan, when I start out, is simply to provide value toward that overall goal every single day, making sure I put forth a minimum amount of effort toward the achievements I want and “raising the bar” each day as I proceed, in order to build momentum. 5 Steps to Selling Anything | Road to Revenue #98
Simply put, sales is a process to ultimately reach an agreement or understanding where all involved see the vision as beneficial. No matter what we are selling to others, whether it is a product, service, company, or yourself, mastering these five steps will lead you to the successes you desire. 5 Steps To Sell Anything 1. Stimulate Interest: Stimulate interest for availability first, meaning practice getting people to respond to your calls, texts, emails, and social media messages first. Then, focus on stimulating interest for your business or services. 2. Transition the Interest: Emotionally connect with who you’re targeting. Then, transition their interest through professional collateral and a clear explanation of true value. Use the 100/20 Rule: be able to articulate that your customers will receive $100 of value for every $20 they spend. 3. Share the Vision: Share the vision of true value. You want to demonstrate the value you’ll be providing in relation to the customer’s personal values, experiential values, giving and receiving values. Make them see the win-win situation in doing business together. 4. Manage and Develop the Vision: Manage and develop a vision by providing the value that you promised. Don’t oversell, rather help them manage and develop their expectations. 5. Thrive: When you’ve done all four previous steps correctly, consistently, and persistently, you thrive. Thrivation is, in essence, getting your customers or other people outside of your organization to sell your product or service for you. This means that you make a lot of money, help a lot of people, and have a lot of fun! Tweet me your takeaway from today’s episode @davidmeltzer Email Me! Your Habits Will Make or Break Your Success
A stable routine is always helpful, which is why having a habit machine is essential for those who are trying to maximize efficiency with their time. Your habit machine, which is simply a system to help you build positive habits, will help you to begin adding more value to your daily routine. The first step is a little counterintuitive to some: lower the bar. Tell yourself, "I'm going to do this a minimum of one minute today, two minutes a day tomorrow." Set the bar low, but continually raise it to build momentum, which grows and accelerates when you are consistent and persistent. Tweet me your takeaway from today’s episode @davidmeltzer Email Me! The 12 Lessons of Life | Road to Revenue #95
Studying human nature is an essential part of life, as human nature is something that never changes. One of my favorite pieces of literature that discusses this comes from ancient Sanskrit, and it lays out the twelve rules that apply to all of our lives, no matter who you are and where you live. Understanding these rules will help you to identify resistance in your life and then push past it. Sanskrit’s 12 Lessons of Life 1. You will receive a body – Part of being human is being born into a human body. 2. You will learn lessons – This is an essential part of life. Without learning, we cannot progress. 3. There are no mistakes, only lessons – Take the perspective that there are no mistakes, they’re just lessons that we need to absorb and implement. 4. A lesson will be repeated until it is learned – If we do not learn a lesson initially, the universe will keep teaching us that lesson. 5. Learning lessons does not end – As long as we are alive, lessons will keep coming to us. 6. ‘There’ is no better than ‘here’ – Taking a grateful perspective about where you are in life is essential. 7. Others are merely mirrors of you – We cannot see outside of us what is not inside of us. Often, we are simply projecting our thoughts about ourself onto others. 8. What you make of your life is up to you – Be accountable for the results of your decisions. 9. Life is exactly what you think it is – Your perspective is what shapes your reality. 10. Your answers lie inside of you – You already have everything you need; you just have to learn to access it. 11. You will forget all of this – Nobody is perfect, and we will all forget these lessons at some point in our life. 12. You can remember it whenever you want – While we do forget all of these lessons, we also have the capability to remember them. Tweet me your takeaway from today’s episode @davidmeltzer Email Me! The #1 Thing Holding You Back From Success
One of the biggest keys for any business leader comes from an understanding of the ego and how it tends to put us on a trajectory in the wrong direction. Ego Edges Goodness Out of your life. Why? The ego has illusionary needs, which can create a waste of your time and energy. The ego also has the need to be right or to be offended. It can cause you to feel a need to be separate, inferior, or superior. Ego can cause fear, guilt, or shame. It will have you searching for recognition for your achievements, instead of simply being happy with what you have achieved. One of our biggest problems comes when we get caught living in this ego-based consciousness and accelerate into the negative emotions we are experiencing. Our ego causes fear, which is followed by fear-based reactions. Those fear-based reactions are what cause us to end up off-track. Tweet me your takeaway from today’s episode @davidmeltzer Email Me! The Best Advice For Anyone Struggling in Business
An analogy I like to use to explain this is a blade of grass pushing through the soil to enjoy everything the sun has to offer. The fragile bit of grass is beneath tons of soil and stone. It doesn't know if it is getting nearer to the surface and the sun, it only knows the direction it must keep pushing. Not until the instant it breaks through the cold soil into the light does it know the effort will be rewarded. A blade of grass, of course, doesn't suffer from the doubt and second thoughts that make our path seem harder as we get closer to our objective. In fact, so many times when we are just about to succeed and grow free in the light is when we quit because the dirt is just too hard. 3 Strategies For Building Your Personal Brand
Look at the frequency held within your own ideas, find that frequency yourself, then test it out with others to confirm you are aligned. Strong brands are built by those who understand that “I am,” instead of those who listen to others who say, “You are” or “You aren’t.” The people who live in the realm of “You are” have trouble finding a frequency, and I see it all the time with products, solutions, and services. You’re asking for trouble, limiting yourself and your brand, when you start listening to what others tell you in regards to who you are. You’ve got to know your frequency and believe in it. Without a steadfast belief, you will also miss the confidence that comes along with a strong brand and frequency. The root of your frequency comes from your core beliefs and values. Time in business is directly related to two things: your productivity and your accessibility. The best way to "bend" or maximize time is to be a student of your calendar. Now, most people think this simply means you need to look at your calendar at least twice a day. In actuality, there are three things to focus on when analyzing your calendar: Study the things you have planned for the day. Look to create efficiencies with your habits. For example, I have a 5/20 Rule, where I try to schedule five-minute phone calls and keep my in-person meetings to 20 minutes, which ultimately promotes a more productive conversation. Study the white space of your calendar. How can you schedule more of those five-minute calls or 20-minute meetings? How can you be more accessible to those who might need you? And don’t forget to ensure you schedule downtime for activities that you enjoy, which I call “activities you don’t get paid for.” Study your sleep. It not only is the restorative process, but it enhances your immune system, which is of the utmost importance. You need to build a consistent sleep routine that helps restore not only your physical being but your mental health, as well.

Stop Setting New Years Resolutions, Do THIS Instead
To be candid, I have never been a fan of “New Year’s Resolutions”, as I believe they create more resistance towards achieving your short-term and long-term goals. We need to be consistent and persistent in pursuit of our potential, which is why I prefer to set New Day Resolutions instead. Rather than a year-long approach, taking things day by day allows us to build coherence. The lesson of coherence has two simple parts: remember to do something, and actually do it. By setting New Day Resolutions and cohering to them, we make prioritization for the day’s goals much easier, and those priorities will take into account our mid-term and long-terms goals, too. I use a system that I call the Five Daily Practices to create this coherence in my life. 1. Know your WHAT... 2. Know your WHO... 3. Know your HOW... 4. Know Your NOW... 5. Apply your WHY...
