You need to do something every day in order to be great at it. Meditate, use gratitude, practice a skill, work on a relationship, tell somebody that you love and appreciate them. Each of those activities can take as little as 30 seconds a day, if you are efficient, and will make a resounding impact in your life.

Learning to Love Failure

I hate failure because it can cause momentary frustration, but I also love it because building something using blocks of failure helps you step up to success. Without failure, you can’t learn and move forward as a decision-maker. Don’t fear it. Welcome it. Failure is as certain as taxes. And it definitely is as certain as death. So, why fear it? You’re wasting energy being afraid of failing or you’re attracting what you don’t want: failure. Know that as you’re failing, you’re learning.

The Cobbler's Kids Have No Shoes | Road to Revenue #83

What does “the cobbler’s kids have no shoes” actually mean? The idea behind this phrase is that someone with a specific skill, knowledge, or desire is often so busy assisting others that their own affairs go unattended. They fail to apply their expertise to the situations that they face and experience some consequences as a result How do we reconcile this concept with the saying “the more we give the more we receive”? To start, you can’t give to others what you don’t have for yourself. Forgiveness is a great example of something that you need to have for yourself first, in order to be forgiving of others. When it comes to receiving, our focus should be on appreciation and acknowledgment. When I say appreciation, I mean that you should try to add value to everything that you receive. You should also acknowledge what you’ve received and share your gratitude freely, especially for the things that others do not have. 3 Habits of Every Successful Leader

Be a courageous leader who illuminated flaws instead of hiding them. The ability to be vulnerable is such an important aspect of life that I switched the two words sitting on my nightstand from "Thank You" to "Radical Humility," as a reminder to be humble and allow myself to be vulnerable. And it's not simply being vulnerable as a person at home with your family; it is essential to also be vulnerable as a leader in business. Vulnerability is simply the courage to be yourself, "warts and all," a core component of effective leadership. Leaders who try to portray themselves as invulnerable or perfect will soon find that their message does not resonate with their team. Not only that, but a façade of invulnerability is a defense which attracts attacks from others. Vulnerability means living in authenticity.

Living in the World of More Than Enough | Road to Revenue #81

Be considerate about what you are asking for in business or your personal life. Take the perspective that one person’s crumbs are another person's cake. When I was five years old, I told my mom that I wanted to make a million dollars. I just wanted to buy her a house and a car, thinking that I would never work again. Looking back at that now, it’s obvious that I was only asking for crumbs at the time. I (unknowingly) held beliefs that were holding me back from achieving more. Limiting beliefs are simply assumptions about your reality that come from your perceptions, life experiences, or your energetic or genetic inheritance. If you look closely at your most common negative behaviors, you might discover that the underlying cause is limiting beliefs. A scarce approach instead of an abundant one is what interferes with you and your infinity. We each have our own infinity, infinite possibilities for our future. Rather than simply setting goals to reach (and stop), let’s continually look to expand our perspective and set milestones to go past. A Simple Solution To Managing Your Time

This Daily Habit Changed My Business and My Life 1. Study the things you have planned for the day. Look to create efficiencies with your habits. For example, I have a 5/20 Rule, where I try to schedule five- minute phone calls and keep my in-person meetings to 20 minutes, which ultimately promotes a more productive conversation. 2. Study the white space of your calendar. How can you schedule more of those five-minute calls or 20-minute meetings? How can you be more accessible to those who might need you? And don’t forget to ensure you schedule downtime for activities that you enjoy, which I call “activities you don’t get paid for.” 3. Study your sleep. It not only is the restorative process, but it enhances your immune system, which is of the utmost importance. You need to build a consistent sleep routine that helps restore not only your physical being but your mental health, as well.

How to Stay Inspired

One of the most common questions I receive is, “how do I become inspired”? We are all already INSPIRED! We are all connected to the greatest source of inspiration possible. However we’re using such a limited amount because our ego is corroding our connection. So what do we do when we feel disconnected? Stop! If you entered the freeway going the wrong direction, you wouldn’t speed up and continue accelerating the wrong way. You’d slow down, get off on the next exit, turn around and go the right way. So why in our lives when we are upset, fearful, anxious, defensive, etc.. do we step on the gas and continue accelerating the wrong path? We need to stay focused on cleaning our connection that that which inspires us. When you feel you are acting out of ego, stop, identify it, and ask yourself “why do I feel this way?” The quicker you can identify you’re corroding your connection, the faster you can connect back to what inspires you the most!

Intrepreneurship vs Entrepreneurship | Road to Revenue #79

The main difference between an Entrepreneur and an Intrapreneur is that an Intrapreneur is an employee, and an Entrepreneur is the founder who designs, launches, and manages a new business, which almost always starts out as a small business. Entrepreneurs risk everything when they start. Intrapreneurs normally have corporate career risks (Salary, Expenses, Benefits, Equity) that arise from launching their business, but they often have many more resources at their disposal. Being an intrapreneur provides you with the opportunity to see if entrepreneurship is the right fit for you without the risks of leaving your job, investing your own money, and starting from the ground up. You can test the waters with a safety net, while having access to more resources and a larger platform afforded by the company that you are with. Intrapreneurs used to be employees of a company who are assigned to work on a special idea or project. They were given the time and freedom to develop the project as an entrepreneur would. Now, intrapreneurs are individuals who are finding new ways to generate growth with the vast number of tools they have available, due to their company’s platform. Reach Your Goals Faster

Choosing to detach from an outcome, can seem extremely conflictual, and it is hard for people to understand. One of the common questions I get is this: “How do you have goals yet remain detached from an outcome?” The truth is, I’m very driven toward the goals I set. I try to take my ego and time, two driving factors for many, out of my goal setting. What I do is this: I set a goal, and at the same time, I detach my happiness from the goal. I do not create an immediate plan to get to my goal. My plan, when I start out, is simply to provide value toward that overall goal every single day, making sure I put forth a minimum amount of effort toward the achievements I want and “raising the bar” each day as I proceed, in order to build momentum.

The Key to Making The Right Decisions

Taking inventory of your values everyday is the key to making the right decision. 1 - Know your personal giving and receiving values. Evaluate those four things every day. 2 - Learn to ask a series of questions to learn how you can provide value to every person in every situation. 3 - Learn a series of questions with which you can ask for help—which is the most difficult and radically humble thing. I lost over $100 million by not asking for help, and my world changed when I learned how to ask the right questions. 4 - Study with a lens of productivity, accessibility, and gratitude what you are doing every day. Study your sleep. Study your calendar and figure out what’s urgent, and what you can delegate to someone else. 5 - Practice ending fear. When you feel like you’re on fire, stop, drop, and roll. Figure out why you feel that way. When we do these things, we’re more successful and happier.
