Giving and Receiving with an Abundant Mindset | Road to Revenue #92

The holidays are a time for giving, any many of us experience issues with giving, receiving, (or both). But, if you take the time to look a little deeper at your attitudes toward abundance and scarcity, you’re likely to shift your perspective. This is a “season of giving”, but there is a scientific basis for the importance of paying it forward, as well. When you give to others, “feel-good” chemicals are released in your brain, as well as that of the person you are giving to. Not only that, but anyone who witnesses an act of giving has the exact same reaction in their brain! Operating with an abundant mindset, believing that there is more than enough in the world to make everyone happy, and living a life of service will not only help you to pay it forward in the coming year (and beyond), but will encourage others to do the same. Why It's Hard to Create New Habits (and Stay Consistent)

CONSISTENCY- Meaning Do It Every Day Consistency is massively important because it allows you to focus on what you want. Focusing on a goal and working toward it every day allows you to utilize the power of intention. That focus yields exponential growth and results. You need to do something every day in order to be great at it. Meditate, use gratitude, practice a skill, work on a relationship, tell somebody that you love and appreciate them. Each of those activities can take as little as 30 seconds a day, if you are efficient, and will make a resounding impact in your life. 5 Daily Practices | Road to Revenue #91

People often ask how I am able to get “so much” done and stay productive, accessible, and grateful in the process. There really is no big secret...I simply work to be consistent and persistent with the Five Daily Practices that I follow. It is these five practices that have helped me to transform my habits and unlock more of my potential. The 5 Daily Practices “A priority is the concern, interest or desire that comes before all others.” Our priorities are the areas of our lives that are meaningful and important to us. They're usually activities, practices, or relationships that we want to put genuine effort and time into. The system that I use in order to organize my priorities by day, week, month, and year is something that I call my 5 Daily Practices. The Secrets To Scaling Your Business

When we get new interns or employees, I make sure to set the tone by telling them that we do not teach about working in the industry. Instead, we teach four things that are applicable to all aspects of life: gratitude, empathy, accountability, and effective communication. To get everyone aligned, reinforce your company values in all three stages of scaling your business, and use different strategies to instill them. Phase 1: Learning Stage During the learning stage, introduce your values to new members of the team. It is vital that all employees are aligned with the values of your business. Help your team connect to what inspires them, and they are more likely to live by your business’s values. Phase 2: Execution In the execution stage, employees learn to maintain proper balance in achieving the company’s mission. Having a motto or mission to guide employees during this stage is important for success in a values-based business. Think about your overarching goals and what you want to accomplish. How can you make your mission into your story? Phase 3: Partnership (Equity) Once an employee shows commitment to these values, that opens up the door for the partnership/equity phase, where employees are rewarded for their dedication, success, and the revenues they have brought into your business. The partnership stage allows you to reinvest in your most successful (and aligned) employees and also helps to retain these individuals. Why You Need To Be Kinder to Your Future Self

The biggest rule I have in life is to be kind to my future self and to do good deeds. So throughout my life even though I made tremendous mistakes, financially as well as other mistakes, I have always been kind to my future self and done good deeds. I always try to be the best person I can be with good intent. Even when I was a salesperson, a manipulator, a scarce person in a competitive space, I still was a good person and I still was kind to my future self and did everything that I could do to help elevate others, to elevate myself. Those types of activities can really enhance you and create endless opportunities for yourself. Tweet me your takeaway from today’s episode @davidmeltzer Email Me! Patience & Persistence | Road to Revenue #86

What is the difference between patience and persistence? By itself, patience is just the ability to tolerate the passing of time. Don’t sit at home dreaming about what you want high on your mom’s couch, broke, sick and alone. What you really want is to blend patience with persistence. Persistence is the ability to push and push and push and push. It's the ability to be stubborn in the best possible sense of the word. These people are consistent and persistent in the pursuit of their potential, even if they aren’t always enjoying it. Defining Patience, Persistence, and Perseverance Patience is the ability to accept or tolerate delay, difficult situations, or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious. Basically, the ability to find the light, the love, and lessons within those challenges. Persistence is a fairly simple concept revolving around the ability to continue on. Meanwhile, perseverance refers to one’s determination. Those who are determined can maintain steady belief or efforts in spite of discouragement or difficulty. Those individuals pursue learning those lessons rather than quitting, finding the light and love in what others might deem “failure”. While these terms are linked, there are subtle differences. Some will say that the words persistence and perseverance seem to indicate action, while patience is inaction. I am here to tell you this is absolutely not true! One-on-One Coaching | Road to Revenue #85

There is one aspect where the best coaches are united, and that is through consistency. A good coach is consistent in the time and interest they devote to their “team”, as well as their behavior, feedback, and the suggestions they give. These coaches don’t let their own issues impact their ability to lead, they can keep these issues separate from their role as a coach. No matter what area of life you are working on improving, a coach is able to help you bring your best on a day-to-day basis. They can inspire you and motivate you as they help you progress towards your goals. What Skills Make a Good Coach? Just like there are myriad types of coaches, there are also a variety of skills that make them great. Some common skills of effective coaches include: Taking their “leader as coach” role seriously - You can’t be a good coach if you’re don’t care enough to be a leader. Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and self-awareness - Not only do great coaches understand what drives their team and are able to manage egos and emotions effectively, but they are also self-aware enough to admit mistakes and make adjustments to their plan. Preparation - A good coach prepares for each coaching opportunity with specific examples or ideas to share and discuss. Knowing the strengths and weaknesses of their employees or team - Thebest leaders maximize the strengths and can turn weaknesses into strengths by putting their team in the right positions. Two-way communication - Not only are good coaches able to make expectations clear to those they work with, but they also listen to others and try to understand their points of view. Optimistic and motivational perspective - A good coach can find the right amounts of encouragement and optimism to connect with their team when things are easy, and well as when they are hard.
