Your Habits Are Holding You Back From Success
ZERO EFFECT- A negative impact on your progress associated with inconsistency. Without consistency and persistence, it is difficult to maintain your momentum toward your goals. The impact of the Zero Effect comes from the exponential growth factor that consistency provides. If I do something every day, the first day I’ll have some progress. If my starting point is at number 1, I’ll be at some number greater than 1 (I call it “X” in the example below), whatever variable it is that I’m working on. Day 2, you get the exponential improvement, with that number X increased to the power of 2. You still get that exponential benefit on days 3, 4, 5, 6, and more, as long as you keep working on that sub-goal every day. What happens to people is that somewhere along the line, they think that their inspiration and persistent attitude are enough to keep going— and eventually, they forget. Their momentum is gone, due to what I call the zero effect. Tweet me your takeaway from today’s episode @davidmeltzer Email Me! 3 Habits of Every Leader
Be a courageous leader who illuminated flaws instead of hiding them. The ability to be vulnerable is such an important aspect of life that I switched the two words sitting on my nightstand from "Thank You" to "Radical Humility," as a reminder to be humble and allow myself to be vulnerable. And it's not simply being vulnerable as a person at home with your family; it is essential to also be vulnerable as a leader in business. Vulnerability is simply the courage to be yourself, "warts and all," a core component of effective leadership. Leaders who try to portray themselves as invulnerable or perfect will soon find that their message does not resonate with their team. Not only that, but a façade of invulnerability is a defense which attracts attacks from others. Vulnerability means living in authenticity.
The Reason Why It's Hard to Create New Habits & Be Consistent
Consistency is massively important because it allows you to focus on what you want. Focusing on a goal and working toward it every day allows you to utilize the power of intention. That focus yields exponential growth and results. You need to do something every day in order to be great at it. Meditate, use gratitude, practice a skill, work on a relationship, tell somebody that you love and appreciate them. Each of those activities can take as little as 30 seconds a day, if you are efficient, and will make a resounding impact in your life. How Do You DEFINE HAPPINESS?
I used to define happiness as the enjoyment of the pursuit of your potential. Now, I have found that it's not only the enjoyment of the pursuit of your potential — but the consistent and persistent enjoyment of that pursuit of your potential that helps you to crush your goals. The Difference Between Motivation & Inspiration
Motivation Know that motivation doesn’t have longevity to it. It’s temporary. There is a difference between the performance of an employee who seems motivated and an employee who is engaged and inspired. Your goal as a motivational leader should be to understand how to best motivate your individual team members, as people react differently to different stimuli and situations. Fear and Motivation - People think that you need to be afraid or experiencing fear to be motivated. Understand that fear only provides you momentary focus, not motivation. Inspiration goes two ways, but first know that you are accountable for your own inspiration. When you are inspired, you are empowered to invest more (not sacrifice more) to get what you want, if you truly want it. Take accountability for yourself. Find what you love to do and align it with what must be done. Then, work to surround yourself with the right people. When I say, “the right people,” I mean the parts of the people you are most attracted to— the parts of others that bring you confidence, make you feel happy, or empower you to be your best self. The second part of inspiration comes from helping your team clear their connection to that which inspires them. Encourage them to participate in activities and philanthropy that they enjoy. Prioritization | Road to Revenue #124

How to Build a Community
The first step of branding a person, product, or service is to find its frequency. What does that mean, “to find your brand’s frequency”? Whether it’s building a brand that is a person, place, thing, product, or service, it’s essential to find out what the “woo-woo” person in me describes as a “vibration”— in other words, an emotional appeal meant to reverberate with your target audience or market. What You Need to Know Before Making an Investment
The last recession impacted stocks for several years, so it is natural to expect this bear market to react similarly. One good rule of thumb to help you create a financial plan is to assume that your stocks and funds could drop 50 percent overnight and stay down for a very long time. This will help you to better determine your timing and risk tolerance, in terms of investing in stocks. Understanding your timing and risk tolerance when investing is essential but that does not mean that you can win by avoiding taking any risks. As previously mentioned, I tend to lean towards a more conservative approach with stocks and bond investments, and make sure that is aligned with the ever-increasing costs of living. Remember that when the stock market recovers, it tends to recover quickly, which can lead to decent returns if you are patient. Tweet me your takeaway from today’s episode @davidmeltzer Email Me! Stop Letting Other People Determine Your Life
While voting for what you want, you’ll get a lot of advice along the way. One of the best ways to handle this advice, especially from loved ones, is to treat others' advice like a handful of sand. We should be grateful for people who give advice and take time to think about it, be appreciative. And if you don't like their advice or it isn’t aligned with your values, let it run through your fingers like a grain of sand. The Key to Finding The Right Coach
What Attributes Make a Good Coach? There is one aspect where the best coaches are united, and that is through consistency. A good coach is consistent in the time and interest they devote to their “team”, as well as their behavior, feedback, and the suggestions they give. These coaches don’t let their own issues impact their ability to lead, they can keep these issues separate from their role as a coach. No matter what area of life you are working on improving, a coach is able to help you bring your best on a day-to-day basis. They can inspire you and motivate you as they help you progress towards your goals. Tweet me your takeaway from today’s episode @davidmeltzer Email Me!
