The Traits of a Great Leader
Building yourself into a leader who inspires others to follow is no simple task, especially during heightened times of uncertainty. However, the best leaders have a firm grasp on the values that they believe in, and those values are what resonate most when building relationships, both in business and in life. As the head of an organization, you must also learn to listen to the input of others, filter advice (especially from mentorship) in order to gain a better awareness of your surroundings, and leverage that heightened awareness to improve your decision making.

The #1 Way to Increase Your Chances of Success | Road to Revenue #149
There are two simple ways to get what you want in life or business: 1. You can ask for it. 2. You can attract it. ASK: A piece of information or content with a specifically designed “ask” built in for the target market that will inspire them to take action. Ask people for help or ask people if they know somebody who can help. When you ask people if they know somebody that can help, you have exponentially more success, because everyone has hundreds of connections to other people on average. ATTRACT: A piece of information or content with no clear ask but that instead has the goal of drawing the target audience’s attention to a brand or inspires them to take some action, whether defined or undefined. An attract’s result comes when you are focused and put both your attention and intention on what you want in life, whether personally or professionally.
A Guide to Becoming More Productive With Your Time
Contrary to popular belief, people that schedule or have many meetings during the day are not busier than other people. There are only two determining factors, whether you're busy or whether you're accessible, and how productive you are. You want to hone in on your accessibility and productivity when you look at your calendar. Leverage Your Calendar A calendar is a tool that can change your life. It’s there for a reason, but people often think of using it as a chore. One of the most compelling reasons to be a student of your calendar is that while the amount of time spent on scheduling grows with the amount of appointments that people have, the time needed to actually schedule meetings decreases. This means that the more meetings you schedule, the better you get at scheduling them. Understand that there is a vast difference between being busy, which is filling up those 24 hours you have in a day, compared to productivity, which is being efficient with those 24 hours. A busy person always has something going on, whether that is work or simply sleeping on the couch. They aren’t necessarily productive with the time they are busy, though, and they are often inaccessible. Understand Your Activities A productive person knows how to maximize two things: the activities they get paid for and the activities they don’t get paid for. This delineation is important to make when maximizing your productivity and accessibility, so you can prioritize the activities you get paid for, as well as those activities which you enjoy the most.

There is No Such Thing as “Big Problems”
All problems are the same size. All that matters is the amount of energy you give each problem. The easiest way to shift your perspective on this is to change the framework of each problem in your life. It may be a little extreme but what if someone told you, “if you don’t solve this in 6 months then you’ll lose your mom.” There would be nothing that would stop me from finding a way to solve the problem. It’s all about framework and energy. Look at every problem, challenge, and resistance you face in your life as something that you didn’t have planned. All it takes is faith to believe that everything will come in the right way at the perfect time.

Stop Manifesting What Other People Want For You
The most common way that faith works is that we place our faith in what we want to manifest in our lives. Just like a credit card, the higher the limit of your faith, the more you can manifest and make into reality. Of course, simply having faith is never enough to get what you want. You need to take the right actions, with the right energy and the right mindset. The less-understood way that faith works comes when we put our faith into what others want for us or things we don’t want for ourselves. What happens when we put our faith in what others want for us is that often if we achieve it, we feel some sort of resentment. There is a massive difference between accomplishing a goal you set for yourself and a goal that others have set for you (or convinced you to set for yourself). Often times, we are limiting ourselves by putting faith in what others want for us. We are also limiting ourselves by putting faith in things that we don’t want in our life.

Nothing is More Important Than What You Think, Say, Do, and Believe | Road to Revenue & Happiness #148
Every so often I like to bring on some of my friends to help out with my Free Weekly Training so I can figure out what you are all listening for. It’s important to have people listen to you, but it’s even more important to figure out what your audience is listening for when you’re building your own brand. So I brought on three of my friends to discuss 3 different topics. Joining me for today’s episode is business consultant, Nick Cavuoto, to discuss the big things we’re going to do at AlignCon on February 2nd & 3rd, EPIC Financial Strategies founder, Rob Gill to talk about how you can better understand financial literacy, and Kathryn Ficarra, to discuss all things marketing and finding your own frequency when building your brand.
The #1 Mistake Most People Make “Chasing Happiness”
There is one truth I believe holds true for all entrepreneurs, the reality of achieving your goal, no matter how much effort it takes to reach it, will not make you happy. Michael Jordan said, “Winning isn’t always championships.” Attaching emotional success to achievement or believing that achieving your goals is the path to happiness is what leads to unhappiness. Unfortunately, we tend to attach our happiness as business leaders to the results we achieve. We tell ourselves things phrases like: “Once I get the funding, I’ll be happy.” ”After I land that client, I’ll be happy.” “Once I make my first million dollars, I’ll be happy.” Guess what never comes, even if you achieve those goals? Your happiness.
One Mindset Shift That Will Accelerate Your Success
I hate the word sacrifice. It carries a scarce energy. You don’t sacrifice anything, you invest in yourself. If you don’t invest in yourself, what are you ever going to invest in? If you want to immediately shift your mindset, stop call it a sacrifice and start calling it an investment and see how much different it makes you feel.
The Life Changing Lessons I Learned From Losing Everything
When I experienced bankruptcy for myself, I knew that I had a strong foundation to fall back on: my values. Take inventory of the values (personal, experiential, giving, and receiving) that make you who you are now and then imagine the person you want to become. Build around the values those people have in common. When you start from a strong foundation, whatever your core values may be, you will have to find people to help drive you forward in your goals. Having a set of principles and standards will attract the right people around you, and it will also empower you to cut ties with associates who aren’t a great fit. It will prepare you to foster beneficial relationships with family, friends, business associates, and even develop mentoring relationships. We must not only think, say, and do the right things to attract the right people. We must also believe the right things and even carry the right energy. This can happen only if we incorporate our values into every aspect of our life and business. If we want to live a grateful life for example, we cannot only think grateful thoughts. We must take grateful action as well, show this gratitude for ourselves and others consistently and with persistence.

How to Pursue Your Potential
There are three pillars of success that you can choose to focus on, rather than attaching your happiness or fulfillment to a specific end goal. When you are able to effectively combine passion, purpose, and profitability, that is when you are getting closer to your true potential as a leader.

5 Steps to Becoming a Better Salesperson | Road to Revenue & Happiness #147
5 STEPS TO THRIVE IN YOUR BUSINESS: Stimulate Interest: Stimulate interest for availability, then stimulate interest for your business. Transition the Interest: Emotionally connect with who you’re targeting. Then transition through professional collateral and an explanation of true value. Share the Vision: Share the vision of true value. You want to demonstrate the value you’ll be providing in relation to the customer’s personal values, experience values, giving, and receiving values. Make them see the win-win situation. Manage and Develop the Vision: Manage and develop a vision by providing the value that you promised. Don’t oversell, rather help them manage and develop their expectations. Thrive: Make a lot of money, help a lot of people, and have a lot of fun!
Simple Steps to Increase Your Cash Flow
I’ve always said that in order to thrive as a business leader you need four core fundamentals: a great product, an understanding of your fnancials, a good grasp on operations, and the ability to sell and market your business. Te ability to choose the right path, take the right risks, and implement the new skills or knowledge you gain along the way is solely dependent on your decision making. This begs the question: “How can we set ourselves up for successful decision making?” Realize your talents, gifts, and competencies, and determine how those show a clear path to making money or not.

Klitsner and I discuss a variety of topics including the mindset required to be a successful entrepreneur, how Klitsner created Bop It for Good to spread happiness and joy to more people, and the challenges of looking for the “next big idea”.
Want to Reach Your Goals Faster?
Once you identify people who sit in a position you want to be in (or can help you get skills/knowledge/desire), reach out and ask for help. To me, mentorship is the accelerator of all accelerators. Having three mentors will help you avoid paying “Dummy Tax” yourself. Don’t be afraid to ask them for help, or input on your plan. Asking for help not only provides you with advice and insight, but it helps you stay accountable and stick to your goals.

How to Stand Out in a Crowded Market
Standing out is one of the toughest things to do in a crowded market. How do we go about it? I believe there are two simple steps to stand out when making yourself equal and making yourself different. Step 1: Make Yourself Equal The first thing we have to do when marketing something, is make that product/service/individual equal to its competitors. This means identifying the ways that we are the same, whether we provide the same service, similar features, or solve the same problem. What you want to do is to make yourself equal and then distinguish yourself. This is not meant in terms of superiority, but in making a solution better than it was before. By this, I mean you’re providing extra-value or something extraordinary. This holds true whether you are talking about a competitive product or yourself. Make yourself equal to their value and then create a higher Penn Value. It is important to ask more open- and closed-ended questions because the more you can understand and align with the consumer’s value system, the better the certainty of success. Simply saying "I'm different" does nothing to convince others of your value. Prove it. Show them that you have the same benefits as your competitors. Show how you solve the same problem. Then, show them how different you are from the rest. Step 2: Make Yourself Different Challenge others to re-evaluate their perspective on what you are with the unexpected, as catching someone by surprise allows us to make a bigger impact on those with set expectations. Use this surprise in your favor by making it into a competitive advantage. Competitive advantage is typically broken down to two simple things: being cheap and being different. What will you be known for? With a differentiation strategy, a person seeks to be unique in an industry, selecting attributes that others in the industry perceive as important and positioning themselves to meet those needs.

The Most Important Lesson You Need to Learn in 2023 | Road to Revenue & Happiness #146
The More you forgive yourself, understand forgiveness and can learn to love those who attack you and create interference in your life, the better your life will become. In order to forgive yourself, you have to use your gratitude to give you perspective on what happened. Gratitude will tell you that your life is about lessons, and lessons will keep coming until you learn them. Reframe your problem with a grateful perspective and your feelings toward the situation will undoubtedly change for the better. To reframe your current situation, can think about the countless people who are worse off than you or consider the ways that you could be faced with an even more difficult challenge.
Efficiency Tips for Boosting Productivity and Saving Time
100% of the things you do now get done, which is why you should practice a Do It Now strategy. a) Create a repository – Have a place where you can organize and plan tasks that you are unable to do right now. This document, folder, or list is something that should be reviewed and updated daily. b) Focus and refocus – Treat focusing and re-focusing like two separate muscles that need to be exercised. Give tasks your full intention when working on them and practice refocusing when switching from one task to another. c) Try not to use deadlines – Telling yourself “X needs to be done by X time” creates resistance for you in accomplishing the task. Dedicate a minimum amount of time to the task each day (as needed) until it is done. Remember that prioritization is the antidote for procrastination. People procrastinate because they haven't figured out their What, Who, and How, so they don't know what to do Now.
The Biggest Misconception People Have About Making Money
There is more than enough of everything for everyone. The people who live with this perspective are those who see their past, present, and future as being more than enough. They are grateful, and they are forgiving. They see opportunity around every corner, allowing them to say, do, think and experience that the universe is in their favor. In this world, everything unravels in your favor. Those who believe in this principle will pursue their dreams without focusing on a self-imposed timeline to achieve them. This belief allows them to persistently and consistently enjoy the pursuit of their potential.
Strategies for Success & Mastering Your Potential
How do breakthroughs happen? One of the things I stress about why you shouldn’t quit is that you need to press and keep pressing everything to get the most out of the opportunities afforded to you. An analogy I like to use to explain this is a blade of grass pushing through the soil to enjoy everything the sun has to offer. The fragile bit of grass is beneath tons of soil and stone. It doesn't know if it is getting nearer to the surface and the sun, it only knows the direction it must keep pushing. Not until the instant it breaks through the cold soil into the light does it know the effort will be rewarded. A blade of grass, of course, doesn't suffer from the doubt and second thoughts that make our path seem harder as we get closer to our objective. In fact, so many times when we are just about to succeed and grow free in the light is when we quit because the dirt is just too hard. That isn’t what you want to do. In order to break through and become the person you want to become, you have to weather the layers of uncertainty and get through the “rocks” of life. Bet on yourself and the abundance of the universe with confidence knowing that when all is said and done everything the “Sun” or “light” has to offer will be worth the effort and trials. Everything will come in the right way at the perfect time ... just don’t quit.

The Brand Building Blueprint: A Step-by-Step Guide
The first step of branding a person, product, or service is to find its frequency. What does that mean, “to find your brand’s frequency”? Whether it’s building a brand that is a person, place, thing, product, or service, it’s essential to find out what the “woo-woo” person in me describes as a “vibration”— in other words, an emotional appeal meant to reverberate with your target audience or market. A frequency can best be described by talking about it in terms of radio stations. If we want sports talk radio, we turn to a specific channel. If we want rock ’n’ roll, we’ll find a station whose music (and employees) have that vibe. If we want cool jazz, that’s an entirely different frequency. Only the people who are tied into that frequency will seek out or hear that radio station. The same thing holds true about branding. You want a brand that rings true to your audience, something aligned with their beliefs, desires, or aspirations. You also want to find a frequency that enough people listen to, right? To connect to others and take your message, product, service, or solution mainstream to the biggest audience, you first need to fully understand who you are, what you’re selling, how you’re selling it, and the value that it brings to others. You need to understand how your frequency, or that of your product, resonates with others and attracts them to the brand that you’re trying to establish.

The Biggest Realization I Had in 2022 | Road to Revenue & Happiness #145
I used to s*** on the idea of New Year’s Resolutions, but the biggest realization that I had in 2022, was that they are important and we should create New Year’s resolutions. We can’t see the progress or growth we make on a daily basis so we need New Year’s resolutions to keep track of that progress as a baseline for the year. Sometimes, I compare seeing this personal growth to seeing one of your children grow. For you, who sees your kid every day, how fast your children are growing isn’t quite as apparent as it is for someone who only sees that same child every few months. The only times that you clearly see this growth is when you’ve got to buy new clothes or shoes. The other valuable lesson I learned from this realization is, don’t be afraid to be a hypocrite. It just means your values have changed and you’re accelerating in the direction you want.
Setting the Record Straight: My Most Misunderstood Content of 2022
When building your own brand on social media, it’s always important to remember one valuable lesson, it’s not what you say, it’s what they hear. It is important to remember this because not everyone is going to understand the clarity of the message you are trying to convey, and this still happens to me all the time. I went back and found some of my most misunderstood content from this year so that I could practice clarifying my own frequency, and show all of you that I am still learning all of the lessons that I teach. So when this happens, we need to look at the three components of finding your own frequency. (1) Strength - How strong is your signal? What impact does your message have? What can you do to strengthen it and provide more value for your consumers? (2) Spectrum - What’s the spectrum of your signal? What demographics does your brand address, or align with? (3) Clarity - What’s the clarity of your frequency? On what level are people understanding Consider the true purpose behind your brand as you create content, as being authentic helps you to find your frequency. When you understand your frequency, as well as who it works with (and who it doesn’t), you can focus on improving the strength of your signal, its spectrum, and the clarity of your message.

David Sharpe, Founder & CEO of Legendary Marketer, talks about his journey from high school dropout and drug addict to becoming an e-learning and marketing expert. Sharpe and I chatted about a wide range of topics including the valuable information that comes from interviewing one client per day, why content creation is a major key for customer conversion, and the importance of taking a long-term approach to building your business.
Why 99% of New Year’s Resolutions Fail
For the first 54 years of my life, I didn’t believe in New Year’s Resolutions. Now I understand why they are important. The end of the year is the best time to track the progress that we’ve made in the pursuit of our potential. It is essential to reflect on our progress at the end of the day, week, month, or year so we can pay close attention to how our habits and progress are compounding, whether it be positive or negative. The best way to track our progress is by taking inventory of our values EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. We must take inventory of the values (personal, experiential, giving, and receiving) that make us who we are now, and then imagine the person we want to become. For me, gratitude, empathy (forgiveness), accountability, and effective communication (inspiration) are at the forefront of everything I do. Taking inventory of our values is helpful when making decisions because we can determine if those decisions aligned with our values. We must also acknowledge that our values tend to change over time. We must not be afraid to be a hypocrite and admit when our values are different from what they were in the past. We are all hypocrites, but not all of us are humble enough to admit it.

How I Lost Over $100 Million Dollars
In this episode, I share my personal story of becoming successful at a young age and the consequences that came with it. I allowed everyone around me to drain me, including my family and so-called friends. I had no one in my life who practiced the balanced give-and-take of the Ben Franklin effect, where I was always helping others but never asking for help myself. Through my journey, I learned about the importance of the Ben Franklin effect, which states that when others help us, they become invested in our success and are more likely to offer assistance in the future. However, if we are not humble enough to ask for help, we will never receive it. My pride and belief that I didn't need anyone's help or advice led to my downfall and the loss of my humility. In this podcast, I share my insights and lessons learned in hopes of helping others avoid the same mistakes.

Creating Your Own “Luck” | Road to Revenue & Happiness #144
There is a very simple equation for life. What we pay attention to (aka what we’re aware of) plus where we put intention in (aka what we think, say, do, and believe) equals the coincidences that happen in your life. Intention has levels, however, which means that we need to further examine how we are utilizing our time and activities. This intentional approach will ensure that we do, speak, think, believe, and feel the right things in order to achieve our desired results.

The 5 Steps of Giving | Happy Holidays
The holiday season is a time for celebrating and giving, but it can also be a time of stress and conflict when it comes to gift-giving and receiving. However, by examining and adjusting your mindset towards abundance and scarcity, you can shift your perspective and turn this time of year into a truly meaningful and fulfilling experience. Science has shown that the act of giving to others releases "feel-good" chemicals in the brain, not only for the person receiving the gift, but for the giver and even those who witness the act. This is often referred to as the "helper's high," and it can bring about feelings of joy and satisfaction. Furthermore, adopting an abundant mindset and living a life of service can have numerous benefits beyond just the emotional ones. Research has demonstrated that volunteering and helping others can improve physical health and overall well-being, as well as foster a sense of community and connectedness. But the benefits of giving don't stop there. When we show kindness and generosity towards others, it can inspire a ripple effect, encouraging those around us to pay it forward and do the same. So, by embracing an abundant mindset and living a life of service, not only can you bring happiness and fulfillment to yourself and those you are helping, but you can also inspire a cycle of generosity and kindness in your community. For the full experience, go watch the full version on Youtube!
My Best Marketing Advice for 2023
In today's episode, I shared some of my top marketing advice for 2023 during my talk at Web Summit. One of the most important things I recommend to people when it comes to marketing is to find your frequency. To do this, you need to make yourself equal to your competitors, but also distinguish yourself by offering extra value or something extraordinary. This can be in the form of a competitive product or even just in the way you present yourself. When communicating with potential customers, it's important to not only emphasize the benefits you offer, but also to demonstrate how you stand out from the competition. To effectively differentiate yourself, it's crucial to understand the consumer's value system and align with it. This can be achieved by asking open-ended and closed-ended questions to gather more information about their needs and preferences. Simply claiming that you're different isn't enough - you need to prove it by showing how you solve the same problem as your competitors in a unique and superior way.

Confidence in what you’re trying to manifest will attract what you desire.
