Ep 105: What A Six Figure Business *Really* Feels Like
EEver since I started my blog in August 2013, building a six-figure business has been a dream of mine. Since my business will be crossing the six-figure mark this week, I thought now would be the perfect time to chat through what it feels like to finally be here. Like most people, I believed that having a six-figure business would mean more happiness, more time and feeling more organised - but this hasn't quite been the case! I'm so grateful for where I am but also wanted to share what can happen mentally when we achieve our big goals. I hope this episode inspires you to continue goal-setting and reminds you that there's no need to rush because you'll always be on the journey. In This Episode You'll Learn: My exact month-by-month revenue from July 2018 to now The biggest misconceptions I had about having a six-figure business Why I'm starting to focus on building a team in Brisbane, even though I could work from anywhere in the world What 'marketer math' is and why you shouldn't believe all of the revenue figures you read The problems I'm facing in my business at the moment Why I'm not yet full-time in my business and how I'm planning to make the transition Featured In The Episode: Figure Your Life Out - Join the waitlist here Get Out Of Your Own Way - join the waitlist here 1:1 Coaching Services Episode 58: 5 Signs You're Scared of Success Episode 79: The Final Update On My 2018 Impossible Goal + My 2019 Goals

Ep 104: My Money Mindset Routine + How I Manage My Finances
EThe way you think about money determines how you feel about money and therefore what you do with money. More money doesn't solve money problems (because fear of not having enough turns into fear of losing it). It's an abundant money mindset that solves money problems and I LOVE sharing what I learn as I do the work to create my own. One of the things I do to create an abundant money mindset is my money mindset routine. This inspired by Kathrin Zenkina's 'Money Mondays' but I've put my own spin on it. I can get a little nerdy with numbers (I do have a finance degree after all) but I've done my best to make this easy to understand! I hope this gives you some inspiration to be more intentional with your finances and a few ideas about what you can do to upgrade your money mindset. In This Episode You'll Learn: How my money mindset routine changed my life My exact money mindset routine, step-by-step from start to finish Simple journaling exercises that will transform your money mindset How I manage my personal finances and stay out of debt How I manage my company finances including what I use an accountant for The two metrics I track each and every week in my business Why I don't recommend creating an 'emergency' account and what to call it instead Featured In The Episode: Figure Your Life Out - Join the waitlist here 1:1 Coaching Services Manifestation Babe Podcast with Kathrin Zenikna Rich Babe Academy The Life Coach School Podcast with Brooke Castillo For The Love of Money Podcast with Chris Harder Abraham Hicks/Esther Hicks Chillpreneur by Denise Duffield-Thomas Episode 67: 4 Practical Ways To Transform Your Money Mindset
Ep 103: How To Escape Indecision Fatigue
EBeing indecisive is costing you more than you realise. It's not just stopping you from creating your dream life - it's also draining you of precious mental energy! In this episode, I'm sharing why we stay in confusion (even though it's so frustrating) and giving you a practical exercise you can use to create massive amounts of mental clarity today. It's time to start creating the life you deserve. In This Episode You'll Learn: What creates indecision fatigue Why indecision and confusion keep us safe Why you can never make the 'wrong' decision How to use personal rules to reduce indecision fatigue Helpful frameworks for decision making (beyond the pros vs cons list) A simple exercise you can do today to escape decision fatigue Featured In The Episode: Get Out Of Your Own Way - join the waitlist here Figure Your Life Out - join the waitlist here 1:1 Coaching Services Episode 97: How To Upgrade Your Habits Using Personal Rules The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson

Ep 101: How To Rest Without Feeling Guilty
EAt the beginning of my personal development journey I had some serious resistance around rest. I've always wanted to feel busy. And because of that, I've been experimenting with it for just as long (see this blog post from 2014). I feel like I'm now in quite a healthy place with rest - i.e. I actually allow myself to do it, without the guilt! I recently had two weeks completely off my business and was able to do so without even a twinge of regret. And my business continued to grow while I was away! Not only has forced downtime allowed me to create an identity for myself outside of my business but I've become WAY more productive and successful. When I have less time to get shit done I can't be as sloppy with it! In this episode, I'm sharing why perfectionists hate to rest, how to skyrocket your productivity levels and my own journey with guilt-free downtime. In This Episode You'll Learn: Why you believe that unproductive moment is a moment wasted What 'productive procrastination' is and why perfectionists love it The unexpected consequences of not allowing yourself to rest Why perfectionists self-sabotage with busywork How I build guilt-free rest into my busy schedule My recommendation for how to ease into rest Featured In The Episode: Episode 84: How To Escape The Self-Pity Cycle The 4-Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss Episode 39: The 4-Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss Episode 99: Personal Growth Update March 2019 Episode 100: The 5 Biggest Growth Mindset Mistakes Perfectionists Make How To Stop Feeling Guilty About Not Studying On Weekends Ep #248: Superthinking on The Life Coach School Podcast

Ep 100: The 5 Biggest Growth Mindset Mistakes That Perfectionists Make
EPerfectionism is created by the belief that if you can do everything perfectly, and look perfect, you won't have to experience the pain of judgement, blame and shame. Perfectionists aren't perfect people, they're people who feel ashamed that they're not perfect. The beliefs that create the perfectionist mindset run deep, which is why catchy reminders like "done is better than perfect" don't tend to change behaviour at a fundamental level. Our human need to avoid the painful emotion of shame can override even our deepest desires and causes us to get in our own way. Growing out of perfectionism requires a willingness to feel vulnerable. Alongside that, I've found that one of the most effective ways to evolve out of perfectionism is to focus on creating a growth mindset. In this episode, I'm going to be sharing exactly what that is, how to create it and the biggest mistakes that perfectionists make when it comes to creating a growth mindset. I hope you find it helpful! In This Episode You'll Learn: What the growth mindset is and isn't, and how it can help you achieve your goals Practical things you can do to create a growth mindset Why you need to have a growth mindset about creating a growth mindset Why detaching from the end result will actually allow you to achieve more Featured In The Episode: My 1:1 coaching services Get Out Of Your Own Way - join the waitlist here Episode 45: 10 Signs You're A Perfectionist Mindset by Carol Dweck Carol Dweck interviewed by Tom Bilyeu Carol Dweck on Perfectionism Episode 59: Daring Greatly by Brené Brown Growth mindset examples in podcast interviews: Aisha Tyler on The Tim Ferriss Show, Katrin Davidsdottir on The School of Greatness, Ellen Bennett on Second Life, Tyler Hanley on Second Life Second Life podcast Losing My Virginity by Richard Branson Episode 57: 7 Differences Between High Achievers and Perfectionists Episode 41: My Fitness Journey + How I Created A Growth Mindset

Ep 99: Personal Growth Update March 2019
EMarch 2019 was an interesting and exciting month for me. The first half was filled with lessons and the second half filled with wonder (and even more lessons). I learned A LOT and am so excited to share the best of it with you in this episode. This month I relaunched my perfectionism course Get Out Of Your Own Way, spent a week in Bali on the Manifestation Babe Retreat and finally gave myself permission to take a break from my business - even if it was only for a few days! Plus there was plenty of other stuff going on too. Tune in to find out what I got up to, the mistakes I made and what I learned. In This Episode You'll Learn: What I thought of the Manifestation Babe Retreat in Bali + whether I'd recommend it My biggest takeaways from the MB Retreat An important lesson I learned while relaunching Get Out Of Your Own Way Why I gave myself permission to have a week off my business + the impact it had The consequence of neglecting my daily journaling practice (feeling stressed) How my goal to read 4 books per month is (or isn't) progressing My personal development experiment for the second quarter of 2019 Featured In The Episode: My 1:1 coaching services Episode 52: The 3 Stages of Personal Growth Get Out Of Your Own Way - join the waitlist here Manifestation Babe Rich Babe Academy Self-Coaching Scholars Tara Brunet Manifesting Your Dream Body by Tara Brunet J.Burrows Black Journal Chillpreneur by Denise Duffield-Thomas Rocket Fuel by Gino Wickman Books read in 2019: Principles by Ray Dalio, Never Split The Difference by Chris Voss, Unstoppable by Maria Sharapova, Still Me by Jojo Moyes, Incognito by David Eagleman, Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin, Losing My Virginity by Richard Branson, The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood

Ep 98: The Power of Daily Creativity
EWhen you have a perfectionist mindset, the temptation is always to only do things you'll be good at or pursue opportunities that might succeed (so that you don't waste effort). While that may sound logical, it's a very limiting way to live life and will only end in dissatisfaction. In this episode, I'm sharing how you can use creativity to get yourself into a growth mindset (i.e. a mindset that will have you achieving more). Even if you don't view yourself as a creative person, I recommend tuning in! In This Episode You'll Learn: How to use daily creativity to get yourself into a growth mindset The things I personally do just for the sake of creativity 3 benefits of daily creativity (beyond what you'd typically think) Why you should do something for yourself before you do something for your boss How to begin a daily creativity practice What I've learned so far from writing every day in 2019 Featured In The Episode: Mindset by Dr Carol Dweck The Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes Episode 79: The Final Update On My 2018 Impossible Goal + My Goals For 2019

Ep 97: How To Upgrade Your Habits Using Personal Rules
ECreating new habits can be challenging, but it doesn't always have to be that with! And the best news is that the answer isn't trying harder - you just need to change the way you're thinking about it. In this episode, I'm sharing the mindset trick I've used to pull myself out of habits that have eluded me for years. The simple strategy I share will have you creating success habits with ease. I'm so grateful to be able to share it with you! In This Episode You'll Learn: The power of personal rules / creating a minimum baseline How to create a personal rule for yourself Why personal rules are more effective than willpower The personal rules I have in my life that keep me organised and make me successful When to use a personal rule and how to choose one to get started with Featured In The Episode: Episode 26: The Power of Self-Image Episode 96: 5 Simple Ways To Feel Better Tom Bilyeu talking about bright lines

Ep 96: 5 Simple Ways To Feel Better
EIf you've been telling yourself that happiness will meet you further down the road (when you get X or achieve Y or marry Z), it will always be further down the road - no matter what your circumstances are. If you're not grateful for what you have, you won't be grateful for what you get. So in this episode, I'm sharing 5 simple gratitude practices that you can experiment with. Some of these I've learned from others and some I've improvised myself. Regardless, I'm sure you'll find one that resonates with you! In This Episode You'll Learn: Why practicing gratitude is one of the most powerful ways to feel better The simple gratitude practice I've been using everyday for 4+ years Uncommon ways to increase gratitude How your gratitude practice can deepen your relationships, even if the other person doesn't reciprocate A powerful gratitude practice you can use when you're feeling overwhelmed How I turn a stressful week around Featured In The Episode: The Five Minute Journal Esther Hicks / Abraham Hicks My blog post from 2014 about the gratitude practice I still use every day Episode 84: How To Escape The Self-Pity Cycle Podcast Episode: Failing on Purpose + Gratitude-Fueled Ambition

Ep 95: The Secret To Waking Up Early
EWaking up early is a powerful routine, but not for the reason you might think! Honouring a commitment to yourself is such an incredible way to start the day - regardless of whether that commitment is to wake up on your alarm at 5 am or 11 am! Over the years, I've heard a lot of advice on how to wake up early. But in my opinion, most of that advice fails to mention the mindset advice that matters! In this episode, I'm sharing how I get myself to consistently wake up early, even though I rarely feel like it. I hope you find it helpful. In This Episode You'll Learn: What being a morning person really means How to wake up early when you don't feel like it The true point of waking up early (it's not what you'd think) What 'responsible alarm setting' is and how to get started Why you find it easy to wake up early on some days but not on others How to create real motivation to wake up early Practical tips that you can start experimenting with today Featured In The Episode: Dream Habit: My habit course for perfectionists My Youtube channel Episode 26: The Power of Self-Image Episode 37: 10 Simple Ways To Optimise Your Morning Routine

Ep 94: Overcoming The Curse of Knowledge
EI've definitely been guilty of procrasti-learning - that thing we do when we want to feel productive but don't want to risk the disappointment that might come if we actually get started. Researching and over-analysing are two things perfectionists are more than familiar with, so I thought I'd dedicate a podcast episode to them. And here we are! In This Episode You'll Learn: Whether you're suffering from the curse of knowledge When to get out of passive action and get into massive action The balance between learning enough and learning too much How to tell when you're procrasti-learning What a low information diet is and how to experiment with it Why I haven't watched the news in years Featured In The Episode: Episode 39: The 4-Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss: Lessons + Takeaways Episode 81: How To Make The Most of Self-Help Books Manifestation Babe Podcast The Life Coach School Podcast

Ep 93: Pursuing Your Potential Versus Protecting Your Potential
EIn school, we're praised for being full of potential. But in the real world, potential doesn't matter - it's what you do that counts. In this episode, I'm shining a light on a seemingly positive belief that is holding SO many perfectionists back - and what to do about it! If you see yourself as someone who's full of potential but you're scared to attempt anything that might fail, this episode is for you. EA student in one of my classes asked me how to tell when you truly believe a new thought. I thought it was such a great question that I wanted to dedicate a podcast episode to answering it! Ep 89: How To Turn Any Goal Into A Realistic Action Plan
EGoal-setting is a powerful personal development tool. It's what allows you to put your hands back on the steering wheel of life and direct it to where you want to go. If you don't take that big, inspiring goal and break it down into achievable daily steps, it's so hard to get anywhere! Ep 87: How I Manage Anxious Thoughts

Ep 86: Principles By Ray Dalio: Lessons + Takeaways
EPrinciples by Ray Dalio was my business book for January 2019 (I'm reading one business book per month) and I absolutely LOVED it. Ray Dalio is referred to as the Steve Jobs of investing thanks to the innovations he's made in the finance industry, but this book was about so much more than the numbers. Not only were there so many incredible business lessons in it, but Ray epitomises the growth mindset and his approach to love is one that's focused around meaningful work and meaningful relationships at its core. And that's something I truly admire (and aspire to). This episode is not a review of the book, but rather the lessons I learned from it. Imagine that we're sitting down over a chai latte and you said - 'Weren't you reading that book by Ray Dalio? How was it?'. This episode is my answer. Ep 84: How To Escape The Self-Pity Cycle
EI recently coached a client on escaping the self-pity cycle and wanted to bring this topic to the podcast as I know it's something that most (if not all) perfectionists struggle with. What's the self-pity cycle? It looks something like this - snooze your alarm, feel guilty for snoozing your alarm, rush to job you resent, feel sorry for yourself because you feel like a mess, go home and comfort yourself with Netflix and food, feel sorry for yourself because you're too exhausted to wake up early the next day, repeat. I've found myself in this cycle before - both when I was working at my full-time job and also once I'd left. Even though you might be believing that you need to change your circumstances to be able to love your life, that's not true at all. All you need to do is change your mindset. In this episode, I'm sharing a simple 3 step process that will ease you into a new way of life. Featured In The Episode Dream Habit 1:1 Coaching Services Episode 49 - What To Do If You Hate Your Job

Ep 83: 5 Signs You're Not As Good With Money As You Think
EIn this episode, I'm diving into the differences between a scarcity money mindset and an abundant money mindset. And the reason I want to do this is because there's a pretty good chance that you *think* you have an abundant mindset when, in fact, you're living from a place of scarcity. Making more money isn't what will flip you over into an abundance mindset. If you don't intentionally create an abundant money mindset, you will go from being scared that you don't have enough to being scared that you'll lose it all. This work is SO important for that reason. Ep 82: Your Ideal Day + How To Live It Now
EDo you know what your ideal day looks like? Or are you just hoping that everything you're doing will add up to the life you want? For most people, it's the latter! It's so easy to get caught up in the short-term, without taking a step back to determine whether your goals are going to add up to what you want. In this episode, I'm sharing a simple journaling exercise that will help you clarify what you want and how to use this exercise to start living your ideal day now. The incredible thing about this exercise is that, more often than not, it reveals what truly matters - and most of the time, it's not what we'd think. Ep 81: How To Make The Most Of Self-Help Books
EToday I want to go into how to make the most out of the self-help books. I have written a blog post about this before though it wasn't too detailed. I have been getting a lot of questions lately about what I do when I'm reading, how I remember it, and how I apply the self-help books. In the past, I've struggled to make a consistent time for reading. If you're wanting to read more books, I shared how to do that in Episode 31. I created this podcast episode to have as a source of reference for anyone who is wanting to go from feeling inspired by self-help books to experiencing the change that they can create. Ep 80: 7 Simple Steps to Reset + Get Organised

In this episode, I'm sharing 7 simple steps to reset and get organised. You can do all of them, you can do just one of them - but these are the things that will really help you get organised and get some sense of momentum back. EFor 2018, I set myself an 'impossible' goal. And that goal was to make $500,000 in business revenue (which was more than 10X what I'd ever made before). The point of this goal wasn't necessarily to achieve it, but to grow into the kind of person who could achieve, to learn to go after something all-out (even when it's not going to plan), to get comfortable with failure and to see what I'm capable of. And I have to say - setting this kind of goal, and working towards it for an entire year, has been completely life-changing for me! In this episode I'm sharing exactly how I went with my impossible goal. And I'm not just sharing the lessons, but also a behind the scenes look at my revenue, profit and expenses too (down to the dollar). I hope you find it helpful! Ep 71: Surprising Lessons Learned From A Year Without Fake Tan
EI've been a lover of fake tan since I first discovered it as a teenager, but it wasn't until 2017 that I realised that my reliance on fake tan for self-confidence was taking it's toll. In that moment, I decided I wouldn't use fake tan again until I could get myself to a place where I loved my natural skin too - so that's what I did! What I share in this episode isn't really about fake tan, it's about what happens when we stop superficially propping up our self-confidence - which is something we do in SO many ways. Join me as I share 5 surprising lessons learned from my year long experiment without fake tan. EI received an email from Melissa asking for me advice on what to do if you're having a bad week or you just can't find motivation. EOne thing that perfectionists tend to have in common is an all-or-nothing mindset, and goal-setting is no exception. I'm frequently asked for my advice on how to achieve multiple goals at once so I thought I'd dedicate a podcast episode to this topic. In this episode I share what motivates us to set multiple goals, whether or not it's a good thing, how setting multiple goals can actually be self-sabotage and the personal approach that I take when it comes towards goal-setting and working towards a number of things at once. Ep 64: The Hidden Habit That's Holding You Back
EWe've all heard that we're the average of the 5 people we spend the most time with and there's no doubt that the people we surround ourselves with have an impact on our mindset, our goals and our lives. But it's also important that we don't overlook the fact that we spend the most time with ourselves. And that there are subtle things we do that can render even the most supportive community redundant. In this podcast episode, I'm talking about why we look to others for support, how you can start being your biggest cheerleader and a sneaky habit that's holding you back. I hope you find it helpful! Ep 63: What It Takes To Reach Your Full Potential

Ep 62: How To Stop Negative Self-Talk + Beating Yourself Up
EUntil very recently I was scared to be kind to myself. I was worried that if I didn't constantly talk down to myself and beat myself up, I'd achieve less and therefore be less. Even though being cruel to myself sucked, I thought it at least served a purpose. How wrong I was. One of the most misunderstood things about negative self-talk is that it helps us achieve more. In fact, it's the opposite that's true. And in this episode, I'm sharing how to develop self-compassion AND achieve all your goals (and then some). In this episode, I'm not just telling you to be kind to yourself because I know you *know* that. In this episode, I'm getting deep into the practical things that you can do to be a little bit kinder to yourself and what I do when I find myself wanting to beat myself up. So, as you might imagine, I've been doing A LOT of personal development work to keep myself on track! I also share the things that have been making me happy and keeping me motivated, as well as what I've been working on behind the scenes. I hope you enjoy the episode! EI haven't shared any law of attraction advice for a while so I thought I'd answer a few questions about how to use LOA to create results in your life. In this episode, I'm sharing how I've been using LOA over the last few months to create success in my business as well as my advice on the most powerful thing you can do to manifest results and whether you can use an affirmation at the last minute to achieve a result. Ep 59: Daring Greatly by Brené Brown: Lessons + Takeaways
EIf you've spent any time in the personal development world I'd be surprised if you hadn't heard of Brené Brown. She's a shame and vulnerability researcher known for her powerful Ted Talks (particularly this one), her best-selling books (like the one I talk about in this episode) and being adored by Oprah Winfrey (there's no better qualification than that). I first read Daring Greatly by Brené Brown a couple of years ago and learned A LOT from it then, but when I found myself recommending the book to one of my readers I decided I'd read it too. And I'm so glad I did! In this episode, I'm sharing the biggest lessons I learned from Daring Greatly and how I'm applying them to my life. If you're struggling with perfectionism, fear of failure or holding yourself back - this episode is for you! I hope you enjoy this episode and it inspires you to pick up a copy of the book. If you've spent a little time in the self-help world, you've probably already heard of this one. But Brené Brown is a queen when it comes to shedding some much-needed light on shame – a feeling that most of us spend a lot of time carrying around but never talk about. Mentioned In The Episode Daring Greatly by Brené Brown How to make the most of personal development books

Ep 58: 5 Signs You're Scared Of Success
EFearing success is actually way more common than you'd think. And that's kinda crazy, right? Even though we're consciously working towards it, we unconsciously stop ourselves from getting it. It's no wonder we can feel so stuck. In this podcast episode, I share why we experience fear of success and my personal struggles with it. I also talk about 5 of the signs that you're scared of success and what to do about it if you do! Mentioned In The Episode: Episode 50 - How To Make Your Goals Feel Normal Episode 56 - How To Handle Uncertainty Tim Ferriss' Fear-Setting Exercise

Ep 57: 7 Differences Between High Achievers + Perfectionists
EI often get asked whether overcoming perfectionism will make a person less successful. When I first started out on my personal development journey, I thought it was my perfectionistic traits that had created my success. I remember feeling worried that if I was kinder to myself and I didn't have crazy expectations, I wouldn't get as much done. What I know for sure is that it was my perfectionism that was actually stopping my success, rather than helping it. Although I could perform well under pressure, it was super stressful, I burned myself out all the time and I needed a deadline to get anything done. Not to mention I was constantly in all-or-nothing mode, terrified of judgement and always holding myself back. In this episode, I share 7 differences between perfectionists and high achievers so you'll feel willing to let go of perfectionism for good. I also give practical advice to help move you away from perfectionism and into being a high achiever. I hope you find it helpful!
