Ep 177: Why Perfectionists Burnout + How To Avoid It

E

Most perfectionists are all too familiar with burnout - as well as the overwhelm, procrastination and guilt that surrounds it. I know I definitely am! In this episode, I'm sharing the real cause of burnout and how to avoid it. I hope you find it helpful! Ep 172: How To Start The New Year Strong

E

Lately, I've been getting A LOT of questions about how to make the most of the new year. And I'm not surprised! Perfectionists feel all the feelings at the beginning of a new year… You probably feel determined to make 2020 your best year ever but you're also overwhelmed by how much you have on your plate. You probably feel motivated to create success habits but you're also scared of disappointing yourself. You probably feel inspired to go after what you want but you're also worried about what people will think. If you can relate, you're not alone! In fact, I used to feel the same way. Every new year, I would set myself the same goals - promising myself I'd be more motivated. But it NEVER worked. It even got to the point where I stopped setting goals because I was SO scared of letting myself down (and looking like a try hard). For YEARS I kept trying to figure out why this was happening to me. I was smart and ambitious, so why the hell wasn't I making progress?! But the answer was simple. And once I figured out what I was unknowingly doing wrong, my life started to change before my eyes - I quit my full-time accounting job, found like-minded friends who actually understood me, started a top-rated podcast, got in a groove with my morning routine, became healthier than ever and made six figures in my business... But what's more important is that I started trusting myself again - and I want to help you do the same! That's why I created a free IGTV series to help you start the year strong. And why I've decided to put that 4-part IGTV series here on the podcast. If you want my help to have your most productive year ever, be sure to join our six week Makeover Your Mindset Challenge inside Perfectionists Getting Shit Done. No more hoping, it's time to commit to getting out of your own way and becoming your best self. In This Episode You'll Learn: The 5 biggest new year mistakes perfectionists make Why you believe in yourself and doubt yourself at the same time 3 success habits you must create in 2020 The one thing you need to be successful this year How to become your most productive self Why you should join our six week Makeover Your Mindset Challenge Featured In The Episode: Perfectionists Getting Shit Done - our group coaching program Join us in Perfectionists Getting Shit Done If you enjoy listening to this podcast, I highly recommend checking out our group coaching program Perfectionists Getting Shit Done. Ep 164: Should You Wake Up Early?

E

If you google the phrase "waking up early" you'll find a stream of tips to help you get up at 5am and lengthy articles about the benefits of this habit. On the other hand, if you google the phrase "staying up late" you'll see articles designed to comfort those who feel bad for this habit alongside warnings that staying up late might lead you to an early grave. Interesting, right? In the personal development world, it's often said that waking up early is the key to success. To support this - lists of successful people who wake up early are given as evidence. But is waking up early a habit that everyone should pursue? I personally don't think so! In this episode, I'm sharing some questions that will help you figure out if you should wake up early or if you really shouldn't. I hope you find it helpful and that this gives you permission to feel good about whatever time of day you choose to wake up. In This Episode You'll Learn: Why waking up early might not be for you The thought process behind my personal decision to wake up early 5 questions to help you decide when you should wake up early Why it's so important to have a compelling reason to wake up early The real reasons you find it so hard to wake up on your alarm Featured In The Episode: Perfectionists Getting Shit Done - our membership community Episode 95: The Secret To Waking Up Early Join us in Perfectionists Getting Shit Done If you enjoy listening to this podcast, I highly recommend checking out our membership community Perfectionists Getting Shit Done. Ep 160: How To Be More Productive When Working From Home

E

I used to believe - hand on heart - that it was impossible for me to be productive at home. When I was a student, I went to the library to study. When I was an accountant, I stayed back late in the office. And when I became an entrepreneur, I worked from a co-working space. If I needed to get shit done, I needed to be out of the house to do it. That was, until I changed a few important things that made it easy to be productive from home - even after a decade of believing it couldn't be done! In this episode, I'm sharing 5 ways to be more productive from home. Many of which you probably haven't heard before. Enjoy! In This Episode You'll Learn: Why believing you can't be productive from home is a self-fulfilling prophecy The reason it's so important to create boundaries around when you will and won't work How to say no to people who want to see you during your work hours The power of constraint and why you need to create time for yourself to rest without guilt Why planning your time makes all the difference (even if you feel too busy for planning) Why self-respect will make you more productive from home Featured In The Episode: Perfectionists Getting Shit Done - our membership community Episode 75: How To Stop Working For Work's Sake Myleik Teele's Podcast Join us in Perfectionists Getting Shit Done: If you enjoy listening to this podcast, I highly recommend checking out our membership community Perfectionists Getting Shit Done. Ep 135: 7 Signs You Have A Fixed Mindset

E

There's a difference between intellectual knowledge and actually living what you know. A BIG difference. Which means that knowing about the growth mindset is not the same as having a growth mindset. I've recorded many episodes on this topic before but thought it might be helpful to share 7 signs that you still have a fixed mindset. But just remember - having a fixed mindset is nothing to beat yourself up about. That's not the point of this episode! The point is to help you take your self-awareness to a deeper level so you can create the mindset and the life you want. Enjoy! To escape the all-or-nothing mindset, there are a few important things you must do. One of those things is creating a growth mindset, which I've spoken more about in Episode 41, Episode 57 and Episode 100 of The Perfectionism Project.
