Ep 670670: Master your personal presentation - Q&A

Have you ever, for your work or personal life, practiced and/or gotten coaching for a presentation? For sales, a live and on-stage presentation, for getting a date or a job, anything? This is the question we posed to the Ziglar audience. Zig Ziglar starts us with a five minute lesson on mastering our personal presentation, whether for sales or in our personal life. Zig mastered sales, then the stage, but even more, he realized all of life is a presentation and how we are perceived is up to us and how we choose and work to present ourselves. Michelle Prince joined me to talk through the many comments on how people have worked to hone their work and life presentations. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Ep 668668: What have you achieved that others thought you could not? - Q&A with Richie Norton

Having confidence in yourself and faith and support from others is priceless. Yet, there is also something sweet about achieving something others didn’t think you could. Maybe you weren’t so sure either, or maybe you absolutely knew you could do it. The greatest stories are made from the “stupid” ideas that worked, and many worked like magic. What Richie Norton helped us understand in show 663 is that for any new idea to be truly valuable and viable, it must by proxy be “stupid” in that it should be very or at least fairly different than what already exists. If it’s the same as something that already exists and “reasonable”, how can it really be invaluable. Thus I asked this question on Facebook, “Who has achieved something other’s didn’t think was possible or a “wise” move, and you proved them wrong?” And, “What is a business or life idea you’ve had that you or someone else thought (or thinks) might be a stupid idea?” Great, fun responses of course, and Richie joined me to talk through your comments! Ep 667667: Michael Hyatt - Achieve More (of what you want) by Doing Less (of what you really don't have to do)

You are overwhelmed. You have too much to do. So I have a question for you - if you could wave a magic wand, would you rather get more done or have less to do? Productivity messages generally focus on getting efficient to get more done. But the greats of our present day and history don’t...do more. They figure out ways to spend more time doing what only they can do. Their art, in essence. Michael Hyatt joins us on The Ziglar Show for the third time, our first guest to do so. His new book is titled, “Free To Focus” - Achieve More By Doing Less. Want the punch line? The primary problem for most of us is we take on too much and don’t eliminate, automate or delegate enough. We spend time doing tasks that relegate us to a low paid, hourly worker. Why? Michael steps on my own toes by stating it’s often because we think it takes longer to explain it to someone else than to just do it myself, and I don’t think someone else can do it as well. Both may be true, but if I accept that, I’m quickly plateaued in what I can do. And there I sit. Forever under maximized. Friend, this is a convicting and compelling message. From it you will do one of two things: cut down on the things YOU don’t have to do. Again, they may need to get done, but do YOU have to do them. And then spend more time on the important things that you do best. Or you will decide to change nothing, and anchor your progress to where you are now. And since I know you won’t do the latter, then there is nothing more important than listening to and digesting this message! If you don’t know Michael...he’s one of the most influential voices in business. He’s a bestselling author, one of the most successful bloggers...ever. And in truth is a primary leader of...leaders. It’s unreal how many of the people we interview on the show look to Michael for mentorship. Ep 666666: Fighting the enemy - Q&A

Show 666, “The number of the beast!” While I don’t fear a number, I know this number has some weighty baggage that I do not discount. I decided to take the opportunity to hit some hard things head on. Recent headlines cited, "The number of deaths from alcohol, drugs and suicide in 2017 hit the highest level since federal data collection started in 1999." I posted this on Facebook and asked…”Why? What's your take on why this tragedy continues to increase about 4% per year?” The responses were profound and hit on things like, disconnection, hope, social media, relationships, health, higher power, opioids, breakdown of the family, isolation, self-image, loss of identity, tolerance and love. And the question or belief of...is there an enemy? The devil? Corporate greed? Is anything at work against you? Sounds negative, doesn’t it. But knowing what you are up against is necessary in order to come out on top. That’s the focus of this show. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Ep 665665: Richie Norton’s financial advice: learn how to make money - Habits with Richie Norton

What are the habits of a guy whose fame comes from doing stupid things? Pretty stellar, and showcases how Richie Norton is defining stupid as the New Smart. My favorite spoke on the Ziglar Wheel of Life from Richie? Number four, Financial. Richie says, “Better than budgeting, learn how to make money.” With number six, career and business, his opportunity requirement is he must be able to do it all via his cell phone so his family can stay flexible and mobile. Number five is spiritual and of great interest to me that we unpacked more was Richie’s perspective of loving God...unconditionally. That’s a twist on the norm. Ep 664664: How are you coping with emotional strife? - Q&A with Miles Adcox

You are not emotionally perfect. Neither am I. You have had some level of emotional strife in your life. Me too. So how are you coping with it? That is the question I posted on Facebook. I asked, “What in your life has most affected your emotional health, and how are you coping today?”Trauma, abuse, codependency, addiction, stress, burnout, childhood wounds, shame, family dysfunction, negative labels, other? The responses came in immediately and right off the bat hit issues such as Divorce, angry households, negativity, childhood trauma, birth defects, death of loved ones, domestic violence, addiction, codependency, bullying. But what you want to hear is...how ARE people coping? How are they healing and overcoming and finding success anyway. The topic came from my conversation with Emotional Fitness guru Miles Adcox, our muse in show 659. I’ll admit I am not equipped to address most of these issues and it was a pure gift to have Miles field them with his humility and experienced insight. Learn more about your ad choices. Ep 663663: Richie Norton | Your stupid idea is way smart

Not just a catchy title folks. In this show we are going to equip you to do something stupid, maybe something you’ve had in mind for a while. Stupid by the world’s standards, that is. Stupid compared to the norm, the conventional and the mediocre. It’s amazing to consider so many of the products, services and empires we all use and believe in, were initially called stupid. Literally. But how do we deal with the critics and doubts and vet the idea to make sure it isn’t truthfully...no good? My guest today is Richie Norton. Richie is a guy who it seems everyone I respect...knows and reveres. At face value he’s a guy that can help you with your business. But that’s like saying like saying a Ferrari can help you get to the store across town. Well, sure. But that’s not even the tip of the iceberg. Richie has a dramatic story that entails the roots of why he wants to help people live the life they believe in, now. Not later. It’s not just motivation folks, it’s from the trenches of hardship and reality to come to terms with the fragility of our lives. Richie’s book is “The Power Of Starting Something Stupid.” You can find it and more at his website, but I encourage you to get a free guide he has called the 76 Day challenge. Richie has three sons today. But a fourth son lived...76 days. That gives you insight into Richie’s muse and heart. Get it at www.richienorton.com/76daychallenge Learn more about your ad choices. Ep 662662: Is admitting really the first step? - Q&A

What is a negative truth about yourself you would like to change? We hear a short clip from Zig Ziglar about his past. A past where he referred to himself as, and had his kids call him, fat boy. Why? Because he was overweight. He then talks about how we see ourselves. From This I asked on Facebook, “What is a negative truth about yourself you would like to change?” It was a question I was concerned would not get much response. Instead I got inundated with incredibly frank responses. Here is a sampling: I'm impatient, I react emotionally to everything, I keep reacting poorly to my wife, I'm waiting for things to be perfect, I create too much drama, I procrastinate, I struggle to balance optimism vs reality, I build a wall and don't know how to have meaningful relationships...it keeps going. The struggle truly is real.” Those are just clips, you will want to hear the details of what people shared. Just tremendous. From this the question that arose was this, “Is admitting really the first step?” That’s the age old cliche’, isn’t it? So now that you are aware and actually admit, are you a step closer to changing? I had Michelle Prince join me to talk through your comments and this issue. Learn more about your ad choices. Ep 661661: Repairing relationships - Habits with Miles Adcox

What are the healthy habits of an emotional fitness sensei? I was curious too. Miles Adcox is our guest today, and after our main conversation with him in show 657, I was eager to walk with him through the seven spokes on the Ziglar Wheel of Life. Longtime show listeners know I find great peace and roots in the outdoors. Miles recently posted this in Instagram regarding the outdoors, “It’s been in my blood for generations and I’m thankful for Mother Nature and her unique way of taking me back home.” I was also intrigued to hear he has four guys he meets with three or four times per week to workout with. But not just a physical workout, they also give focus to the emotional and spiritual aspects of their lives. Regarding his habits to keep relationships well, he does "a lot of repair work." Meaning, he realizes "rips" are going to happen and his priority is making sure he makes adequate reparations. These and other inspirations, in this show. Ep 660660: How self-aware are you? - Q&A with Alan Stein

We are holding up self-awareness as a holy grail of success. I often say the most dangerous enemy of our life is what we don’t know. What we are blind to. And it’s even worse if we’re talking about an area we think or assume we are good at, and are actually not! In show 655 my guest was high performance coach Alan Stein and we spent a majority of our time talking about the value and necessity of self-awareness. The reality that even with high profile NBA pro basketball players, the number one ingredient for their long term success is, self-awareness. So I wanted to put the issue to you. I posted this question on Facebook, “What is something about yourself you were once unaware of, and now are gratefully "self-aware"? How has it benefited you?” Then, I had Alan himself join me to review your comments. I’ll tell you, I feel oftentimes these candid question and answer sessions with you, the Ziglar Show audience, are as profound if not more, than our main interviews where we initially dig into the issue. Special: Choose To Win Release - Transform Your Life, One Simple Choice At A Time

On stage in front of a crowd of people, Tom Ziglar was spontaneously asked what he believed to be the fastest way to success. His knee jerk response, "Replace a bad habit with a good habit." Daily? Weekly? Monthly? Yes. This concept is the seed from which his new book grew from, "Choose To Win". This is the first book to come from the Ziglar legacy years, and in many ways is a first encapsulation of an authoritative look at the legacy of Zig Ziglar passed down to his son and the world. Ep 659659: Miles Adcox, how to be emotionally fit

Are you emotionally fit? We dig into this, a topic directly related to how everyone perceives you, especially those closest to you. It is something you are acutely aware of in regards to everyone you know, though you may not really be conscious of it. What you will find out is how critical this root issue is to you very well being and overall success. I’ve heard of EQ for years, but never like this. The ability to understand and healthily deal with your own emotions, as well as others is something we are all flourishing or suffering from. A leading expert in this area is Miles Adcox, CEO of Onsite. Miles runs Onsite, an internationally-acclaimed emotional wellness lifestyle brand that delivers life-changing personal growth workshops, inspiring content, leadership retreats, and emotional treatment. I had heard about Miles but didn’t know him first hand. I happened to start reading Donald Miller’s book “Scary Close”, a memoir, and right off in the book he enrolls himself in an Onsite retreat with Miles. That had me hooked. From there I started researching emotional fitness. The question is, where is your emotional health and how is it helping or hurting you? Let’s hear from the master, Miles Adcox. Ep 658658: Tracking your daily activities will increase your results - Q&A

How does simply tracking your daily activities affect your overall success? It’s massive. As with most positive improvement, actually, all...the point is brain training. Trying to get our brains to make the right decisions, do what we truly want to do...so we’re all looking for ways to manage ourselves. So here with daily tracking, We’re not talking massive goals planning here, we’re dumbing it down to the ridiculously simple, that none of us can deny is easily possible. Anything in your life where you want health and success, if you will just make a daily note of what you did in that area, you will improve. Why? As you’ll hear in the show, it increases your awareness, accountability and motivation. Again, just simply...noting down what you did. Even if it’s...nothing. You’ll see it and it will give you conscious and subconscious fuel to do something, the next day. So I kick this discussion off with a clip from Zig Ziglar on this issue. The clip is not even a minute and a half and me quickly mentions how to increase your sales and weight loss! From the message I posted this question on my Facebook page - “In your goals and pursuits and growth, how are you measuring or tracking your progress and results?” Zig Ziglar’s son, CEO of Ziglar and my dear friend Tom Ziglar joined me to talk through all your comments. Ep 657657: Being mentally tough - Habits with Alan Stein

Is being mentally tough a healthy habit for success? This is our Habits show where we walk through the seven spokes in the Ziglar Wheel of life and hear the healthy habit of our guests. This time we’re with Alan Stein, high performance coach known for his work with pro basketball players and author of “Raise Your Game”. In show 655 we dug into his message and primarily focused on the massive value and necessity of...self-awareness. On that note, reviewing his healthy habits was profound. I was intrigued with his commentary on mental toughness and the reality that all we can control is our attitude and effort, and that goes even for NBA pro athletes. Ep 656656: Do you really know how to listen? - Q&A with Oscar Trimboli

Welcome to The Ziglar Show, I’m your host, Kevin Miller. Do you really know how to listen? I asked this question on Facebook,” What have you been taught regarding...listening? Being a good listener? Do you think you are a good listener?” We received about 50 responses, but while a lot of people shared things they had heard in regards to being a good listener, most also admitted...they weren’t so good. This comes from my recent series on listening, brought to us by Oscar Trimboli, don’t miss his show #651. And for this Q&A session, I asked Oscar to join us! I think I learned more from hearing his responses to your real life questions that I did in my main interview with him. And as you’ll hear, he was listening. To me. Watching me. And you’ll hear first hand how he employs deep listening skills in the moment. I’ve had so many people say they went to his website at oscartrimboli.com and purchased his book. Ep 655655: Alan Stein, high performance secrets from renowned pro basketball performance coach

What is your key to success? Well first, there isn’t one, there will be a bunch of keys. The best way to find them? Discover the keys that successful people use in their lives! Which I bet is a main reason you listen to The Ziglar Show. But we can’t listen to any one person’s success keys and adopt them for our lives. We are unique and will need a unique batch of keys to unlock our own potential. SO...the tagline for this show is “Inspiring Your True Performance”. I received a book titled “Raise Your Game - High performance secrets from the best of the best.” I was intrigued initially, then much more when I began reviewing the book. Alan Stein, Jr. is the author and our guest today. Here’s what I think is of such great value though. Alan didn’t just survey successful people, he worked directly alongside them. Long term and intimately. Specifically, NBA superstars. Alan is a world-renowned performance coach who spent most of his career working with pro basketball players. Now he’s a sought after speaker, podcast host and author. But before you get visions of his guidance being how to high jump and dribble, the first chapter of his book, the anchor in my opinion, is based on my current, favorite word: AWARE. Chapter one in his book is Self-Awareness. Do you get that? The testimony is that the first key ingredient they are looking for in a world-dominating basketball player is not height, reach, endurance, physical strength or even mental grit. It’s self-awareness. In my years of working as a professional in the personal development industry, after 362 Ziglar Show episodes and over 100 interviews with highly successful and influential people, I wholly agree. Chapter two of the book? Passion. Like self-awareness, passion is something anyone can have folks, that’s available to all of us! So you can see why I’m excited about this message! You can get the book and connect with Alan at raiseyourgamebook.com/ or wherever you buy books. Ep 654654: Choose your own label

Got labels? In this show, we’re going to talk about labels. The ones we want and don’t want. There are labels, positive and negative, we are given. That we often believe. There are many leaders who say “Deny any negative labels, reject them!” However, we sometimes get labels that we know...have some truth to them. And we just accept them. Even...when we change. Then what about the labels we want? Can we not become those? I have a message about this from...Zig Ziglar. He tells what is actually a fairly disheartening story of testimonies of how negative labels dramatically affected people’s live, of course, primarily for the worse. As you know, he doesn’t often spend time communicating anything negative. But to drive home his point, he did in this clip. But as always, he uses it to empower us. From the clip I posted this message to the Ziglar audience: QUESTION: 1. What negative label (from others or yourself) do you strive to reject? 2. What positive label do you strive to be? I asked Michelle Prince to join me to talk through your comments, we got through as many as we could. This is a very tangible and often sore issue in our lives, but getting it out on the table to deal with is really, really significant. We ultimately got far more comments about the positive labels people are striving for, embracing and becoming. Very inspiring discussion. Learn more about your ad choices. Ep 653653: First listen to yourself - Habits with Oscar Trimboli

What are the healthy habits of a professional listener? Though Oscar Trimboli actually says he’s not, he’s striving like we all are. But he’s a professional listening teacher at the least! This is our Habits show where we walk through the 7 spokes on the Ziglar Wheel of Life, this time with...Oscar Trimboli, our guest in show 651 where are topic was Deep Listening. I just received a requested case of his little book, Deep Listening, to give to those closest to me. I’d really, really encourage you to get yours, go to oscartrimboli.com. Of interest to me, in discussing Oscar’s personal habits, as you heard in the intro clip, he realizes that a person he often needs to listen to, is...himself. Ep 652652: Revealing the enemy of your peace

What is the primary enemy of your ongoing peace? This is the question I posed to our listeners. I’m referring back to my interview with Rick Hanson in show #647 where we talked about being Resilience. And I wanted to hear from you. And asked that question on Facebook, “What is the primary enemy of your ongoing peace?” I feel like I keep saying this, but it was a near record number of incredibly candid responses. Most people seemed well aware of what the consistent culprits are that can easily derail them if they are not diligent and aware, which is excellent, because getting them out on the table is half the battle. Tom Ziglar joined me to talk through them and it was convicting for us all. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Ep 651651: Oscar Trimboli, how to succeed by listening, deeply

Do you hear me? Do you hear anyone? In this show I give focus to a skill that can increase your social stature, influence and overall opportunity...exponentially. A skill that, according to our guest, only 2% of the world is ever, ever taught. A skill few of us ever even think about...though we direly desire this skill in others and adore those who happen to have it. What is the skill? Listening. Why do you care? Wouldn’t you...like to be adored by others? Have influence with them? Have better relationships, with everyone? Your spouse or significant other, your children, you co-workers or employees or business partners and associates...your friends...again, everyone? Please don’t miss this show and this message. It’s not sexy. But neither is saving money. Being debt free forever...everyone wants it. Listening is doing the work, for massive social capital. It’s so easy to stand out and be a hero, because as you’ll hear in this show, few people effectively listen. As you’ll hear, me included. My guest is Oscar Trimboli. He’s an expert in this field and wrote a small, coffee table book titled “Deep Listening” - Impact beyond words. After a short review...I knew I needed to bring him and his message, to you...the Ziglar audience. Oscar is a consultant to organizations such as Cisco, Google, HSBC, News Corp, PayPal, Qantas, and TripAdvisor helping executives and their teams listen to what’s unsaid by the customers and employees. As you will hear in the show, while Oscar began this research on listening in the business world, he is not focused on each of us individually and has the goal of bringing deep listening to 100 million people. Ep 650650: Do you look forward to retiring, or not?

The answer is more important than you’d think. I’m bringing you a two minute clip from Zig Ziglar today on, retirement. I’ll preface by admitting what he says is somewhat controversial. But the point massively valid regarding retirement, if that is your goal and expectation. So I simply asked this question on my personal Facebook page, “Do you look forward to retiring? Why or why not?” Quickly there were over 60 comments, and two distinct sides. The comments were all valuable enough that I changed my format and instead of having one of my regular co-hosts with me, I’m going to read through a majority of the comments, then simply pose some questions to you...and leave you to ponder your own perspective and desire. This will be an interesting show. And as it’s relevant to so many, I’d ask you to share it with others who you feel it would be of value to. Learn more about your ad choices. Ep 648648: Remove your blinders to the main 7 challenges that threaten you

Do you see it coming?! In this show I harken back to show 643 with Carey Nieuwhof where we discussed his message, “Didn’t See It Coming”, Overcoming the 7 Greatest Challenges That No One Expects and Everyone Experiences. We got a lot of great feedback on that show, and realized that half the battle, or more, is simply becoming aware! Thus the title of his message, “Didn’t see it coming.” So I wanted to hear from you, your real life stories. So I asked this question on Facebook:From the list below, which area, that everyone experiences to a degree, do you feel is most challenging for you, and why?And this is the list of the 7 greatest challenges from Carey’s book:CynicismCompromiseDisconnectionIrrelevancePride and NarcissismEmptinessBurnoutThe responses were incredibly candid, and while diverse...overlapping. Ep 647647: Rick Hanson -- How To Hardwire Your Brain For Happiness And Resilience

Do you want to be happy, joyful, at peace? I can’t imagine anyone would say no. But as a human we generally look to our circumstances to provide these things. Something else is being...resilient...meaning ‘able to withstand or recover quickly from difficult conditions’? So in this show we get to what I’m tempted to label a root issue of our personal performance, but that doesn’t feel like it does us justice. It’s Our very selves, our joy, our peace, our very lives. Rick Hanson is a psychologist whose focus is neuroscience. He wrote the book “Hardwiring Happiness” that my business partner who is an MD, said I MUST read. I went to buy the book and saw he had a new book, “Resilient” - How To Grow An Unshakable Core Of Calm, Strength, and HappinessNow folks, this isn’t about merely “feeling good”. You can get a temporary feel good from many things, as i mentioned before...circumstances. But We’re talking the foundation of ourselves. Being Calm in any situation, strong overall, and having true, enduring happiness. Those are not easy things to attain, and few truly have. All you strive for, every day, is for an ultimate goal. What is it? To be miserable, or happy and joyful? To be stressed out and worried, or at peace? So this is not theory, it comes from Rick’s research. It is an eye-opening, profound conversation. In this show we hear a message from Zig Ziglar on Gaining Knowledge, Training Accordingly, Experiencing Growth and Realizing Change. From his message I asked this question to our audience, “What is a recent experience you have had with taking knowledge, and making actual change as a result?” Great comments that Tom Ziglar and I talked through and I believe you will relate to on many levels. Did you know NOT having hobbies or friendships is often a sign of burnout, or that you are heading that way? This is our Habits show where we walk through the seven spokes on the Ziglar Wheel of Life, and today we are back with Carey Nieuwhof. Ep 644644: How to redeem your pain, abuse and hardships

Got pain? Had abuse? Endured some hardships? In this show, I wanted to visit one more time, our crucibles. In show 639 we talked with Dr James Kelley about harnessing our crucible or trials in essence for gain, instead of handicap. Using our adversity as a strength, not a weakness. I wanted to hear from our listeners, real issues. So I posted this question on Facebook: “Because I experienced and endured ___________, I am now able to _____________, that I otherwise would not be so capable of.” The responses were...deep. I had Michelle Prince join me and we struggled a couple times to keep our composure as we read testimonies about people’s adversities. What really became the focus was whether someone becomes bitter as a result of their adversity...or is able to redeem it. And we covered adversity and crucibles, from hard work environments to death and abuse. This I believe is a profound show for all of us. This show is brought to you by Abby Connect - At a fraction of the cost of hiring an in-house assistant, Abby Connect provides you with a team of U.S. based, professional, courteous receptionists that give your clients the best experience each and every time they call your business. 8-3-3-ABBY-WOW and mention our podcast OR go to abbyconnect.com/ziglar Learn more about your ad choices. Ep 643643: Carey Nieuwhof - How to avoid the 7 key challenges that sneak up on everyone

Don’t get caught by surprise! My biz partner, a medical doctor, says the most dangerous thing is...we don’t know what we don’t know. I find this to be true. It’s what we are blind to that most often takes us down. In this show we bring you a message titled, “Didn’t See It Coming”, Overcoming the 7 Greatest Challenges That No One Expects and Everyone Experiences. It comes from a book by the same title, authored by my guest Carey Nieuwhof a speaker, podcaster and pastor of one of the largest and most influential churches in Canada. So right off you’re wondering what those 7 challenges are? Here you go:CynicismCompromiseDisconnectionIrrelevancePride and NarcissismEmptinessBurnout Of course I get Carey’s personal story that brought him to this message and what he does today, but we get into these challenges, plus 11 warning signs that we are falling into these issues/ Folks, I was really intrigued by the message and our discussion. Nobody sets out to become any of those things, they happen over time, like gaining weight. Carey does a masterful job of opening our eyes with a breakdown of needed Self awareness, a Burnout quiz and just guidance on an overall Personal audit to clarify where we are and where we need to shore ourselves up. It’s a significant discussion. You can connect with Carey at didntseeitcomingbook.com. And of course get the book there or wherever you buy books. Ep 642642: You really can choose your reality

Daunting and empowering, to realize your reality is in your control. In this show we hear a message from Zig Ziglar about our ability to choose. To choose how we’ll make our day, our life...better or worse. We can’t control everything, but we can control what is most important...ourselves. Our actions and responses and perspectives. It’s powerful medicine and it radically affects our circumstances and reality. From the message and with the New Year in mind, I asked listeners this question, “What is a new decision that will make your life better...you are (or considering) making for the New Year?” We got a near record number of responses. Tom Ziglar joined me and we talked through a number of them. So, so inspiring. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Ep 640640: Jet fuel for your self-image

Could a brief testimony radically change your perspective of yourself?? We hear a message from Zig Ziglar on how our paradigm might shift if we got a...special call...to begin our day. A call from someone we respected that testified to our value and worth. From the message I posted this question, "If 1) God undeniably appeared to you and simply informed you...you were currently functioning at about 1/4 the capacity and ability He had placed within you, then 2) you took an IQ test and it scored you beyond genius level, and then 3) three different people you highly respected asked you to join a high level mastermind with them (at no cost, they just wanted you to be involved with them...would you feel any different about yourself? How?" So many different responses we got, not all what you would expect. Tom Ziglar joined me to talk through the comments. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Ep 639639: Dr. James Kelley, how to leverage your trials for your benefit

What is your crucible? The definition of a crucible is this - “a situation of severe trial, or in which different elements interact, leading to the creation of something new.” But think of it as...the things that have happened in your life that have shaped you...for better and worse. Wouldn’t you like to take all the things in your life and have them support and propel you instead of handicap and weight you down? Dr. James Kelley is my guest, he’s the author of “The Crucible’s Gift” and host of the podcast, “Executives After Hours”. It’s ultimately talking about many, many people who rose from adversity...in spite of or maybe because of, the crucibles in their lives. It’s a life altering topic folks. So many of the big movies today focus on people with superpowers. Regular people who had a mishap that gave them a superpower. They were bitten by a spider or electrocuted or fell in a vat of chemicals. In the movies, they get some cool superpower. In real life when bad things happen to us like that, we just expect we’ll just...die. Or be critically handicapped. But this concept is so, very real. Tragedy or at least hardship and disappointment is going to happen to everyone! From childhood on. How you deal with it is...everything. So will the crucible in your life make or break you? Help or handicap you? Overcome you or will you overcome it? And you may need to look into your past and consider what crucibles in your past have done to you. How do you perceive them? What is the story you tell about them? Were you equipped and empowered, or just...hurt? We also get into the crippling effect of blame. It gets to the root of our very real...handicaps or strengths. And it may not be black and white for you. Maybe things happened that gave you some strengths, AND weaknesses. We’ll flesh it out with Dr Kelley. Hey, Dr Kelley agreed to give Ziglar listeners the first chapter in his book for free. Get it and connect with him at https://www.drjameskelley.com/ziglarshow Learn more about your ad choices. Ep 637637: Defining your own success - Habits with Abel James

“Define your own success and nurture relationships like a garden!” We are back with Abel James, the fat burning man himself, and he has some great insight for us. Abel was our guest in show 635 where we gave a lot of focus to...our energy. Getting fit and trim and well is great, but the main value is increased energy, and who wouldn’t appreciate that? So do yourself a favor and check that show out. In this show we go through the 7 spokes of the ziglar wheel of life and audit Abel’s habits. Ep 635635: Abel James - How to get your energy back

I have a New Year’s gift for you. I’m going to give you your energy back! How does that sound? I really want you to listen here...do you have the energy and vibrancy you once had? If not, are you ok with this reality? Have you bought into the norm of...that is aging? Are you 30 or 40 or 50 and talking about the things you “used to be able to do” but can’t? Hey, many people are fine with accepting this. I for one, am not. I just turned 48, I have 9 kids and one grandchild already. I run three businesses. One, I feel responsible to my family to be able to help and be there for them...for a long time. You are here because you are not the norm, so I know you will want to hear this message. I’m bringing you Abel James. Author of “The Wild Diet” and host of the wildly popular “Fat Burning Man” podcast. He’s the host of the award-winning Fat-Burning Man Show, which has ranked as the #1 Health Podcast in 8+ countries around the world with more than 25+ million downloads. Abel has starred as a coach on ABC television and has been featured in WIRED, Entertainment Tonight, People Magazine, and many more.Connect with Abel at http://FatBurningMan.com But folks, healthy eating, losing weight...I didn’t bring Abel to us to talk about these things specifically. As you’ll year from Abel, they are just vehicles for...energy. Getting you more energy. The energy of your youth. Why? So you can do and experience and enjoy and create...more. So you don’t have to accept the “normal” and inevitable decline. 50 years old is when most people begin establishing their life’s work, but we’ve gotten to the point where 50 is when we start winding down. What are your limiting beliefs? In show 631 I talked with Mastin Kipp, author of “Claim Your Power” where his primary focus is finding your purpose...and the vehicle is understanding and overcoming...past trauma. Don’t just think tragedy, but any event in your life that helped create limiting beliefs, which we ALL, have. Powerful show, again, #631. I’ve been enamored with the message and have been working through the book in detail. But I wanted to hear more...and hear from you regarding Mastin’s message of hope and turning your trauma and limiting beliefs...into power. So I asked on Facebook, "What is a limiting belief you work to overcome?" I asked it in that way because, you may never totally get rid of it, even if you are able to succeed anyway. Ep 631631: Mastin Kipp, How to dissolve your trauma and move forward

In this show we are talking about a big premise: that all your limits. All the handicaps of your mind, all your anchors and achilles heels and everything holding you back from your full potential come from...a primary source. Sounds too much already, doesn’t it? Just another claim to be the holy grail. I feel you. But then after this talk...well, it’s pretty convicting. If it’s not THE primary thing, I have now come to believe it is one of the TOP...primary things. And it is...unresolved trauma in your life. And before you say, “Hey, I’ve never had any real trauma, I’ve never been abused or lacked for much...you could have come from a privileged home and loving parents and tried to live up to high expectations that became somewhat of an anchor for you that you are imprisoned in or tired of...but the point, you have a limiting factor or belief rooted in your past programming and wiring. And until you get rewired, you will be stuck or at least handicapped. My guest is Mastin Kipp, a number one best-selling author of Claim Your Power and Daily Love, speaker and Creator of Functional Life Coaching™ for people who are seeking rapid transformation in their lives. He has been featured on the Emmy Award show, Super Soul Sunday, and recognized as a “thought leader for the next generation” by Oprah Winfrey. Through his writing, online courses, in-person seminars and international retreats, Mastin has worked with over two million people in over 100 countries around the world. Ep 630630: Living up to or overcoming your labels

We hear a message from Zig Ziglar on how we all succumb to lifetime conditioning. Literally how we all tend to give more attention and value to taller people than shorter, just as an example. And how it affects us all. From this message I posted on Facebook, this question: "Do you have any labels attached to you? 1) What positive labels have you lived up to, and/or, 2) What negative labels have you had to overcome (or maybe want to)?" Ep 629629: Changing up your habits to keep them fresh - Habits with Lori Harder

We are back with Lori Harder. Being a three time fitness champion, you’d of course expect some healthy habits. But physical is just ONE of the spokes, right? Some things she shared...She has a spoken, morning mantra. Her rule for decisions is whether she feels a full body yes or not, and a healthy habit for her marriage is she’s learning to golf for her husband and he’s taking ballroom dancing lessons for her. But what was really interesting is her talking about the need to change her habits frequently to keep them from getting stagnant. Sounds simplistic, but then, so is eating only from the salad bar when you’re at a pizza place...totally abstaining from the pizza. Simple. But diabolically hard. So it’s a significant perspective you’ll want to hear from Zig. From that message I posted this question on Facebook, “1) What are your primary sources of positive input (people, books, podcasts, music, art, etc...), and 2) What are the primary sources of negative input you work to avoid?” So many wonderful responses, you’ll come away with a great list. Ep 627627: Lori Harder - How to create your supportive tribe

We talk with Lori Harder, about the power, necessity and opportunity of having a tribe. It’s just an irrefutable fact that people with strong social circles live longer, happier, healthier lives. But how do you achieve this for your own life? We cover it in a massively equipping conversation in this show. I asked Lori to join me because she has one of the top ranked health podcasts on the planet called "Earn your happy", she recently published a book titled "A Tribe Called Bliss", and she is just massively inspiring a lot of people. She grew up in an unhealthy, uninspiring home and it compelled her to go a radically different direction. She started off in the fitness world and ultimately became a three time fitness world champion. She's been featured on the cover of the world's top fitness magazines as a model 18 times, and published articles in those mags as well. But all that to me seems a small beginning compared to where she's gone from there. She now has two million dollar businesses and is a self-proclaimed personal development junkie. Friends, I read and review a lot of books. Her's...I asked for more of. I took some home. My wife dove in and gave books to HER tribe. Lori has some powerful insights that I'll wager you will find yourself lacking in and massively empowered by Lori to pursue and conquer. Personally she got me looking yet again at my boundaries, or lack of, and how I deal with expectations in my relationships, so I...can have a healthier tribe. Ultimately Lori’s book and message is based off the concept that you become who you are surrounded with! That you become the sum of the 5 people you are closet with! From it I asked this question on Facebook, "What is something in your life right now, you have been blaming? Ep 623623: John Ruhlin, The gifts for success

Let’s talk about gifts. Nope, not your giftings as in talents and abilities, but literal...gifts. But the point is building relationships and standing out. It’s building social capital. It’s loving and caring for other people. John Ruhlin is our guest and he’s on the show because...he wowed me, as he has a sea of other people. Truly. He gifted me beyond the point of just feeling reciprocity, but I felt known and cared for. From it we’ve developed a friendship and will do more business, and hopefully life, together. I mean, hey...here I am telling the world about him! I brought him on folks, because I truly wanted you to hear his message, so you could increase your success as a result. His personal story of how he came to be the most known gift giver and business producer for some of the biggest names in business, like Jeffrey Gitomer, Keith Ferrazzi, Raymond James, Keller Williams, the Chicago Cubs and even Caesars Palace, and more, is tremendous. The point is to help you stand out, grow your relationships and increase business in one of the most fun and profitable ways ever...wowing people with giving. When I asked John what he most wanted to impart to the Ziglar audience, he said, “I want to inspire people to be radically generous with all their relationships. I want business leaders to be aware that if their clients are not actively sending them referrals, they have a loyalty problem.” And folks, let me tell you, he does...just that.
