Ep 540540: Skip Prichard - Make your future success
Today we talk with Skip Prichard, author of “The Book of Mistakes - 9 Secrets To Creating A Successful Future”. Skip is the former CEO of Ingram Content Group and Harvard Business Review labeled him as a rare social CEO and a “relentless giver.” But check this out...how Skip grew up is incredibly interesting. Both parents attended seminary. Told they could not have children, they were headed to the mission field in a Third World country. Skip's mom became pregnant, eventually having six children, so they made the mission their home. Taking in people who were abused and addicted, and Skip's fascination with success began. He was intrigued with...Why would one person succeed while another would fail? Wouldn’t you love to know the answer to that question? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Ep 539539: What problem do you solve?
We are talking about serving others through Sales. If you have a product, service or idea, something that benefits people in any way, then you have a service to offer them, and there should be no sales pressure, only an appropriate desire to understand their need and discern if you really can help them. If you can help them, how do you effectively say so? The clip of Zig’s presentation is two minutes. To know how to serve someone, we need to be able to stand in their shoes and understand the problem they perceive. So, I posted on a question to my facebook page at agentkmiller.com, “What problem does your product, service or idea solve for people?” We got some great responses of course, some folks who laid out well the problem their products/service/idea solves, others who told us what their’s did and provided, but missed the problem perspective, and Michelle Prince and I offered some direction. If you’re a sales professional, business owner, entrepreneur, digital marketer, author, speaker, platform builder, or anyone who wants to build an audience, then you have to check out the all-new Secrets of Closing the Sale Master Class with Zig Ziglar and Kevin Harrington. Ep 538538: Habits - Mark Timm leading from humility
Today we talk with Mark Timm, Amazon rockstar and Executive Vice President of...Ziglar. We just had an incredible show with Mark and Kevin Harrington of Shark Tank fame on the new Secrets of Closing the Sale Masterclass, hear that in show 537 and get access at zigsecrets.com/enroll. In this show, we talk with Mark Timm on his habits for success. Mark was incredibly candid and openly shared his struggles in the 7 spokes of The Ziglar Wheel of Life, as well as the habits he employs for health. Some highlights: He’s learned not to go overboard with his tendency to be extreme with exercise and nutritional strategies, but focus on sustainability. He quit watching TV to better guard what went into his mind. He became a millionaire by age 30, then went a million in debt. It took him twice as long to pay back the million as it did to make the million. He learned the hard way that he must lead with humility, and he went deep into this issue. Ep 537537: Kevin Harrington - Secrets of Closing the Sale 2.0
This is a significant event. Zig Ziglar has influenced over 250 million people worldwide. His two best selling books are See You at the Top and Secrets of Closing the Sale. This second book on sales, in our interview with Seth Godin he says he listened to the recording over 70 times...he wore out the old cassette tapes and had to buy new ones. But the point is, as with all of Zig’s books, it wasn’t just about the topic on the front cover. It was about achieving a great life! In today’s show, I talk with two business superstars and I’m submitting you’ll hear the best sale ever - on sales. Zig has always claimed that we are all in sales. You can’t make any forward progress in life, in any area, unless you can sell someone on yourself. And in business, you won’t get anywhere without selling your skills, your product, your service or your idea. You’ll never get a date or get married without selling your value to another. You’ll never succeed as a parent if you can’t sell your kids on good choices. It’s about influence. Mark Timm is a wildly successful businessman with a company that is a top 100 Amazon reseller with over 59,000 products and growing. He’s executive VP of Ziglar, Inc and CEO of Ziglar Family. He’s partnered with Kevin Harrington, the guy who invented the infomercial and was one of the original four investors on Shark Tank, the guy with a net worth of 450 million dollars...to bring us Zig’s message from his foundational book, Secrets of Closing The Sale. Folks, it was an incredible look behind the scenes with these two guys and how they used Zig’s teaching to launch them not only into massive business success, but massive success in their lives overall. This one is a must listen. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Ep 536536: Do you really have power to change your life?
Kevin Miller and Tom Ziglar cover the topic of, what power do we have to make things better in our lives, immediately? We listen to a 2 minute clip from Zig Ziglar where he deftly points out how we all understand there are things we can do, right now, to make our lives worse. But what we don’t often conceptualize near as much is, there are things we can also do, right now, to make our lives so much better. He tells it in a compelling way, of course. From the message we asked this question, “Your life is what it is today. What is a change you could make, pretty quickly, that you think would improve your life for the better? Any answer is relevant.” We got a great array of answers, from things people espoused were overall good habits, to people who had specific things they wanted to do to make their lives better, but were struggling to actually do. It was a very real conversation. Join us! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Ep 535535: Habits - Jonathan Fields does not separate mind and body
Normally say we are going “behind the scenes”, but with Jonathan Fields of ‘The Good Life Project’, he was so authentic and personal in our main interview in show 534, it feels like we were behind the scenes with him the whole time. But in this show we walk through Jonathan’s personal life and the healthy habits he consistently walks out to maintain his - Good Life. A preview - He’s not a morning person, he puts big emphasis on meditation, he doesn’t miss his morning coffee, he’s not a fan of indoor exercise, his biz partner is his wife and they are nearly always together, he works to keep himself sharp mentally by being physically healthy, his career efforts are wrapped around the question, “Will this opportunity allow me to spend as much time as possible with people I can’t get enough of?” And he loves making stuff and just signed up for a month long course on guitar building! Ep 534534: Jonathan Fields - How to achieve your good life
Do you want a “good life?” Goofy to ask, but in truth, does that not sum up what we are all working towards or at least hoping and dreaming of? To have a truly good life? One of the top podcasts on planet earth is “The Good Life Project” hosted by Jonathan Fields. Jonathan has truly done something profound. In the pursuit of a good life - in the personal development industry worldwide - amidst everyone globally desiring to make individual progress, Jonathan has brilliantly boiled things down to three buckets. It’s really tremendous. We of course talk through these points which are the essence of his podcast and his bestselling book of the same name, “The Good Life Project”. But I also just dig into Jonathan himself and what got him to this point to embrace this movement and become the leader he’s become and is becoming to so many people. It’s incredibly intriguing and gives us all a lot to think about in regards to how we are living, loving and leading. Ep 533533: Howard Partridge - the vital power of community
We are talking about something that is just - vital. Community, and specifically, the power it has for our lives, and the handicap we all have without it. This is actually a special installment in place of our normal Q&A, but we recently had a chance to talk with Howard Partridge about his new book "The Power of Community - How Phenomenal Leaders Inspire Their Teams, WOW Their Customers and Make Bigger Profits.” I just spent time in Nashville, TN with Howard and got a copy right from Howard’s hand. This is a timely, timely book. We are suffering as a culture by being uber connected digitally, but under connected personally with real relationships. The book comes out Jan 25, 2018 but you can Pre-order now at http://www.howardpartridge.com/community. When I asked him what the catalyst was for his devotion to this topic, he cited it was church. And the LACK of real community and relationship there. Pretty interesting. If you don’t know Howard, he knocked it out of the park in business and is now an international business coach with coaching members in over 100 industries in 9 countries. He is a best selling author of seven books and the exclusive business coach for the Zig Ziglar Corporation. Howard has a story, he grew up on welfare in Mobile Alabama and left home at 18. He arrived in Houston, Texas on a Greyhound bus with only 25 cents in his pocket. He started his first business out of the trunk of his car over 33 years ago and built it into a multi-million dollar enterprise. He has owned 9 small businesses altogether and owns 4 companies at the time of this recording. He is the proud president of Phenomenal Products, Inc. which helps leaders and business owners inspire their teams using the Power of Community. Learn more about your ad choices. Ep 532532: Habits - Dave Ramsey still budgets
In this show we get into the personal life of Dave Ramsey. What are the daily, personal habits of America’s most trusted source on money? Some interesting things you’ll hear, he and his wife Sharon get up at 4:45 every morning together to talk, pray and go go over plans for the day. She then works out at the gym while he uses his home gym and some running trails, he still spends time budgeting! Though it’s admittedly looking at bigger expenses and not the grocery budget. He mentors a group of local, young pastors. And he believes recreating is “re-creating” and devotes time to joys such as barefoot skiing at his lake house. It was a fun journey with Dave over the 7 spokes of the Ziglar Wheel of Life. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Ep 531531: Dave Ramsey - Today in America, with money
Dave Ramsey - America’s voice for financial peace and financial health. Or we can just say, money. That thing that dictates far too much of our lives. How can we lead it instead of it leading us? We took a short time with Dave to get a pulse on the state of his views on finances in today’s culture and economy. What is harming us most, what could help us most? What trends do we need to be aware of? Dave is as candid and authentic as ever and also gives us a look inside the workings of his empire. Ep 530530: Let us not take for granted these three things
We are talking about upping your hope, joy, expectations and from that, your behavior and actions. How? By increasing your gratitude. Nothing has to change other than...your awareness of what is happening right in front of your eyes and giving it the value it deserves. We’re going to listen to a two-minute clip from the legend himself, Zig Ziglar. The message was from a presentation he called the “Oh Gosh! Attitude”. From that clip, I asked people at my agentkmiller Facebook page, where you are welcome to join if you want to join these discussions, “What is something you often take for granted that you should, in all truth, be wowed about?” I actually made the first comment to kick things off, and we got some really heartfelt comments that will make you think deeply. The vast majority of comments came under three main focal points? Think you know them??? Listen in. But we got a couple stand-alone comments on topics that were really profound. Michelle Prince and I talk through these. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Ep 529529: Habits - Rich Roll was an artist in a lawyer’s body
Rich Roll is back with us to dig into his personal, daily habits of success following the 7 spokes of the Ziglar Wheel of Life. Some highlights: For a while, Rich journaled what he did over every 15 minute block to discover where he was wasting time in his life, so he could be more efficient. His morning time starting predawn he feels is his most creative time and sets the stage for the entire day. In his early days as a corporate lawyer he felt like an artist trapped in a lawyer’s body. He believes we are spiritual beings having a human experience and there is little in his life he gets more joy from than a bike ride. Ep 528528: Rich Roll - finding the ultra you
Rich Roll was near 40 and in horrific shape. He had a big awakening and transformed himself into not just a fit and well guy, but an elite, ultra endurance athlete. And from that, a guy who is massively inspiring hundreds of thousands of people. You may know Rich from his top ranked podcast, “The Rich Roll Podcast”. Rich is a world-renown, plant-based ultra-endurance athlete, in-demand public speaker, wellness advocate, bestselling author and inspirational hero to a global audience of wellness seekers as a transformative example of courageous and healthy living. The story is, after succumbing to the sedentary throes of overweight middle age, at age 40, Rich made a decision to overhaul his life, adopting a plant-based diet and reinventing himself as an ultra-distance endurance athlete. Just a few years later, Rich stunned the multisport community with top finishes at the Ultraman World Championships, a 320-mile, 3-day double ironman-distance triathlon widely considered one of the most grueling endurance events on the planet. Rich chronicles his journey in Finding Ultra: Rejecting Middle Age, Becoming One of the World’s Fittest Men, and Discovering Myself -- an inspirational memoir of plant-fueled athletic prowess which quickly became a #1 bestseller. In 2015, Rich and his vegan chef wife Julie Piatt released The Plantpower Way – a plant-based cookbook and lifestyle primer for the active modern family. The discussion was, well, Rich! I felt quite a kindred spirit in Rich, and from the authenticity he shares in the struggles he’s dealt with, I think you will too. Ep 527527: Is your reality real? I think not.
Your reality. Is it real? Or is it only as you perceive it and can you alter it - right now? Are you limiting yourself and merely need a paradigm shift to dramatically catapult your life for the better in a short amount of time? This is a continuation of show 524 where we listened to a clip from Zig Ziglar on our true potential. If you missed it, go listen to show 524. Today, coming from the same message from Zig, I asked on my agentkmiller Facebook page, “Do you believe reality is in fact, real? That it is concrete and black and white? Or do you believe “reality” is what we make of it?” The Facebook comments really brought up some interesting perspectives about this. Michelle Prince and I take you through them in hopes of helping you alter what you perceive as your reality. I will tell you, it helped us further change our own beliefs! Ep 526526: Habits - Lee Cockerell relies on expert help
Let us go behind the scenes with Lee Cockerell, our guest in show 525. Lee spent 10 years as executive vice president of Disney where he was in charge of the entire magical kingdom, many resort properties, and 40,000 employees! He gave us a great message, don’t miss that interview. But today we walk through his habits for success, going over the 7 spokes in the Ziglar Wheel of Life. Some highlights: He works to maintain the same weight he was in the army at age 20, and he’s 74 today. He has a Starbucks decaf every day, on no medication with great blood pressure. He spends a lot of time with family and stresses to his employees to never miss family time, not even for work! He views his brain as having malleable software and works with experts to help him manage and succeed. He grew up poor and feels it hardwires the brain. Today he is still frugal, driving a decade old car and relies on his financial advisors. Spiritually he needs to do more work, he says. He’s had some rough times, has been the bad guy and wants to be a better person. He built his career on discipline and empathy and admits he loves public speaking because he needs the “people clap”. Ep 525525: Lee Cockerell - creating magic in your life
Imagine running Disney, numerous resorts, and 40,000 employees. Imagine barely making it out of high school, not having a college degree, having a hard upbringing with a mom who married and divorced five times. Being adopted twice. Having the only solid figure in your life being a grandmother who you were taken away from as a child. This is Lee Cockerell. In this candid interview he shares what helped him succeed, even as in his late 60s when his wife almost died, he suffered severe anxiety and depression. You do not expect the humility you will find here, from a guy who ran a small nation. You will be moved and motivated! Here is an interesting tidbit, in his book he talks about the value of staying in touch and accessible to people, and actually gives his personal phone number. Most people don’t believe it’s for real, but he gets calls! How cool is that? Ep 524524: Managing, controlling and changing your attitude
Managing, controlling and changing your attitude; one of Zig Ziglar’s favorite and foundational topics! We play a 3.5 minute, classic clip from Zig Ziglar on changing your attitude, and from it I asked on my agentkmiller Facebook, page, “What are your primary tactics for changing your attitude when you get down, negative, angry, sad, fearful, etc.“ We received nearly 50 comments in less than 24 hours. Ep 522522: Lewis Howes - Get rid of your mask and be free
Lewis Howes is the Best selling author of “the school of greatness” and his podcast of the same name is a top 100 on planet earth. Today we are talking with him about Masculinity. Why? Lewis claims the majority of stress, anxiety, and pressure men feel is due to the masks they wear. Think of it as certain personas we fall or buy into, and get trapped in. Then live from in a limited fashion. I feel the topic may not at first sound like something you’ll be excited to listen to. But the question is, do you HAVE any stress or anxiety? Do you feel any pressure? Would you like to be free of it? If that sounds attractive, then you should be ecstatic to listen to this discussion today. Do you wear the mask of know-it-all, stoic, aggression? And ladies, though the masks may be geared toward the guys, you have your own and will get great value here. Ep 521521: Natural potential needs unnatural work to bring to mastery
What is our potential? I think we’d all agree we have more in us. How much more? 5%? 30%? 70%? That answer is not as important as the reality that whatever potential we have, it will not add up to much if we don’t work hard at it. But in our natural skills, talents, and abilities, we find the potential for mastery. In areas we do not have many inherent giftings, it will be hard, if not impossible, to find that mastery. In this show, we listen to a short message from Zig Ziglar on finding your full potential. From what I asked my facebook page at ‘agentkmiller’, “What is a skill, ability, or talent you have, that you've worked hard to increase and grow?” The comments were significant and pointed to some truths about having potential, and clarified that they are near nothing until we grow and refine them. Ep 520520: Habits - Carrie Wilkerson
Round two with Carrie Wilkerson, our esteemed guest in show 519 right before this one. We are walking through the 7 spokes of the Ziglar Wheel of Life with her and getting a behind the scenes glimpse at her personal, daily habits for success. Is she just wonder woman incarnate? Well, as you heard in show 519, she digs wonder woman. But no, she is not. She had no leg up more than you or me, but she had the desire and she did the work and she really, truly wants to help you and me. And it comes from daily habits. Some highlights, at 29 years old she was 5’2” and weighed 266 pounds. Today she’s 45 and is 150 lbs lighter. She believes her brain is her biggest asset and eats to feed her brain. She guards her sleep, especially before a speaking engagement. Financially she believes ‘upgrading’ is a disease we have to stop. She thinks multitasking is a myth and her personal vice is musicals. Ep 519519: Carrie Wilkerson - Move from aspiration to achievement
Carrie Wilkerson, back for our second interview (first show was 394 - The labels that bind and free us - downloaded over 52k times). What is the topic of our conversation today? The point? By the fact that you are here listening, we know you are an aspiring person. Carrie exists to take aspiring people to be achieving people. Literally. We all aspire, but do we always do what we aspire to? The actions that will take us from aspiring to actually achieving? Is anyone hearing this ok to always aspire, but never actually achieve? I think not, which is why you want to strap in and hear this discussion. If you don’t know Carrie, she’s been Featured on CNN and Fox Business News, in Success & Entrepreneur magazines and named by Forbes as a top small business influencer, Carrie has consulted with Google and other business thought leaders on growth strategies, productivity and current trends. Ep 517517: Habits - Michael Hyatt believes in radical margin
Here we bring you the successful habits of Michael Hyatt, our guest in the previous show #516 where we talked about making goals actually happen. We will listen to a short clip from Zig Ziglar on stage, talking about marriage. From his message we asked folks at my agentkmiller Facebook page, “If you’re Married, would you share - What intentional investments do you routinely make into your marriage that help strengthen it?” We received more responses than on any other question I believe and was such a rich, rich talk I had with my co-host Michelle Prince to discuss what everyone shared. If you are married or intend to be, hear what is working for people! A note, you will hear me reference a quote from Zig in the show, that afterwards I contacted his legendary assistant Laurie Magers about, and she got me the correct quote, here is what Zig said: “I’m personally convinced our divorce rate would be reduced 90 percent if men and women delivered in marriage what they sold while courting.” Powerful. 512: Changing jobs, careers and starting a business
A significant discussion for anyone desiring of, or contemplating a different job, career or business. My co host Michelle Prince and I asked this question on Facebook, “Is there a challenging area in your life where you are struggling to understand how you can change things for the better”. The responses were almost all around one issue, choosing and going after jobs, careers or businesses that are more fitting and rewarding. So we just made this the focus. If you are not in a job you love, if you are interested in going after self-employment, this show is power packed. The question came from a short message Zig Ziglar gave us, that I play at the top of the show. Thanks to BookBoundByTheSea.com and Ziglar On Demand for supporting this episode. Find out top comedian Michael Jr’s daily habits of success. Catch his main interview out in the episode right before this one, #510, where he charged us to “Be the Punchline”. In this short interview, the habit that most stood out to me about Michael, and has stuck with me, is his morning routine that includes hitting his knees before his feet to say thanks and be grateful. I think about it nearly every morning now. That is why we do these habits shows folks, so that ideas such as these from greats like Michael will resonate and stick with us and change our lives. 510: Michael Jr. - Be the punchline
A world class comedian who is not out to get laughs. He is out to “give people the opportunity to laugh” and help set the stage for meaningful, purposeful content of the heart and soul. His personal mission is to “comedically inspire people to walk in purpose”. He is accomplishing this in massive numbers while on stage with The Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel, BET, Comedy Central, Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday and Tedx Talks. He will shortly be in a movie theater near you in a starring role for the feature film, “Selfie Dad”. Here is a novelty, he is a top ranked comedian who has no need or use for crude and vulgar jokes, imagine that. You will hear in the show how he views all of us, in living our lives, we are preparing and setting the stage. Why? For the punchline of our lives. The deliverable. Without that, it is simply a life of always preparing but never coming to the table with an offering. Nobody in The Ziglar audience desires this. 509: What helps people finally just do it?
We asked this question, “What caused you to finally start? You were going along, maybe had a wish or desire or need, but time went on and you did not act. Then finally, ___X___ happened and you started forward, took a step, leapt. What was the cause? Why did you finally go forward?” Of course we got a slew of great responses that my co-host Michelle Prince and I are about to share with you. Why? To help you in the next thing YOU want to truly get started on, but may feel hamstrung by something. A better explanation however, comes from Zig Ziglar himself, so we lead off with a two minute clip from him that will drive the message home. 508: Habits - Kevin Harrington of Shark Tank
The original Shark Tank member himself, Kevin Harrington, is back with us. Inventor of the infomercial. His net worth of half a billion dollars he credits to creating relationships with his audience, that was the focus of our main interview in the previous show, #507. Today we find out what the shark does in his personal life. His daily habits. Some points we found out; he’s the same weight at 60 as when he graduated high school, he has a 15-min hotel workout ritual, he believes taking care of his fellow many is most important, he has a 30 year legacy plan for his career that will take him to age 90 and he has fun by attending sporting events. I do not believe there is much Kevin does, ever, that is not fully intentional. Find out what fuels his voracious appetite for progress. Thanks to Texture and Grasshopper for supporting this episode. In this show you will hear why Kevin credits Zig Ziglar’s book ‘Secrets of Closing the Sale’ as a primary tool that spawned his success. Why businesses need investment and capital now more than they used to, how audiences have shorter attention spans and want authenticity, why he considers us to be in a “gig economy” and an “idea economy”, how instead of employing people, he outsources much more these days and he wants to be known as the guy who helps others build their businesses. 506: Your belief’s are not fact
The Ziglar audience grapples with this question we posted on Facebook, “Have you ever had a belief that you could NOT achieve something you desired, that you ultimately overcame and did achieve?” We received some vulnerable testimonials from people regarding work, military endeavors, athletic feats and the biggie, massive weight loss and life change. The topic came from one of Zig Ziglar’s famous presentations called, “flea training”. If you’ve heard it, you need to hear it again. If you have not, then here is a treat! 504: Erik Weihenmayer - overcoming your handicap. And you do have one.
Imagine climbing mount everest and the Seven Summits, earth’s greatest peaks. Then imagine kayaking the Grand Canyon, all 277 miles of it, in one of the most challenging rivers on earth. Sound impressive? Now close your eyes and imagine doing all that - blind. That is what Erik Weihenmayer did. The dynamics involved in doing such a thing equate to someone with a profound experience and ability in things like overcoming fear and discomfort. Faith. Perseverance. Joy. And much more. But it is not just about Erik being a veritable superhero. He does these things to inspire others. All others, as he believes we all have handicaps we must deal with and big obstacles to overcome. His is not a drill sergeant approach however, but one of great faith and compassion. Connect with all Erik is doing at www.touchthetop.com. 500: Q&A - What problem does your biz solve?
The question, "What problem do you help solve? If you have a business, product, service, message, what problem does it solve for an end user or recipient?” We posted this question on show host Kevin Miller’s Facebook page - agentkmiller - and received incredible responses. The question came from our interviews with Don Miller in show 498 where we discussed his book, ‘Story Brand’ - Clarify Your Message So Customers Will Listen. He took us through the structure our business message should follow - “A CHARACTER who wants something encounters a PROBLEM before they can get it. At the peak of their despair, a GUIDE steps into their lives, gives them a PLAN, and CALLS THEM TO ACTION. That action helps them avoid FAILURE and ends in a SUCCESS.” If you have a biz, product or service or hope to, I guaranteed you’ll get wise direction from this show. 499: HABITS - Don Miller’s daily habits of success
A behind the scenes look at renowned author Don Miller, our guest in the previous show 498 where we walked through his new book, “Building a StoryBrand: Clarify Your Message So Customers Will Listen”. Here we walk through his daily success habits in the 7 spokes of The Ziglar Wheel of Life, 1) Physical, 2) Family, 3) Mental, 4) Financial, 5) Spiritual, 6) Career and 7) Personal. You will hear he does not eat breakfast, he reads 2 hours a day and 50-70 news articles, he lives off of 10% of what he makes and puts money where he can not get to it, he seldom prays in public and he recharges by doing lawn work. 498: WORK - Don Miller, how story is the key to your biz success
Here is my testimony to Don Miller; of books written in the last decade, I have heard more testimony of actual life change as a result of people reading Don’s book, ‘A Million Miles In A Thousand Years’, than any other book. Period. I have purchased three cases of the book and given them away. I attended Don’s Storyline conferences, as have much of my family and friends. Now Don has brought his expertise and insight on story to the business world with unprecedented acclaim. If you want a successful business and life, what you will hear in the following interview and in Don’s just released book, ‘Building a StoryBrand: Clarify Your Message So Customers Will Listen’, is a must read. Why? It flips our perspective of how to promote what we have to offer to the public. It’s not about your product or service, it is about the customer. Don takes us through the structure of a good storyline and how we can and must apply it to our offerings in this format - “A CHARACTER who wants something encounters a PROBLEM before they can get it. At the peak of their despair, a GUIDE steps into their lives gives them a PLAN and CALLS THEM TO ACTION. That action helps them avoid FAILURE and ends in a SUCCESS.” When you listen in, I predict two things - 1) you will realize you are violating some of these principles, and 2) you will have an aha moment you can take action on right away. 497: ZIGBOMB - Can you really do and be anything?
In today’s show, I posted this question on my Facebook page, “We can do and become anything we want to do and become. Do you agree?” The direct answer was almost unanimous, but the perspectives varied greatly. I feel there were three main takeaways - 1) the necessity to know yourself well, your gifts, talents, skills and abilities, 2) the reality that we are all pretty prone to limiting ourselves, and 3) anything worthwhile WILL be overwhelming and require more than we can offer solely in and of ourselves. 496: HABITS - Tom Bilyeu, do not be right, be a learner
Round two with Tom Bilyeu in the show everyone is already raving about…Habits. We take the 7 spokes on the Ziglar Wheel of Life and ask today’s biggest world influences, what their daily habits are in each of these areas. If you didn’t catch the show prior to this one, episode 495 with Tom Bilyeu…gift yourself and go listen. It was one of more harder hitting shows on the nitty-gritty of walking out our personal development endeavors. The highlight for me was choosing to believe..it’s your fault. It’s all…my fault. Sounds terrible, doesn’t it. But it’s a massive freedom. Connect with tom at impacttheory.com or just search Facebook, Instagram, YouTube or iTunes for Impact Theory. In this show, you’ll hear how this legend in the wellness industry hates working out, how he had to stop working non stop for his marriage, how reading is his passion and road to self-improvement and why he loves playing video games with his wife! If you get value, please leave a review in iTunes and tell us why so we can bring you more of the same! 495: MIND - Tom Bilyeu wants us to pull you out of the Matrix
Tom Bilyeu came on this show to help us develop an anti-fragile, unbeatable mindset.” He is the co-founder of 2014 Inc. 500 company Quest Nutrition — a unicorn startup valued at over $1 billion — and the co-founder and host of Impact Theory. Impact Theory is a first-of-its-kind company designed to facilitate global change through the incubation of mission-based businesses and the cultivation of empowering content. Every piece of content Impact Theory creates is meant to underscore the company mission to free people from The Matrix and help them unlock their true potential. Impact Theory exists to inspire the next generation of game-changing companies and creators that will make a true and lasting impact on the world. I really got interested in what Tom was doing after seeing a video of an interview he did with Simon Sinek on Millennial. The video went viral and helped bring a lot of people to Impact Theory. I’ve now watched countless interviews from Tom. If you find him on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook, you’ll see a hard-driving approach to personal development, no excuses and getting the most out of yourself. But in this interview, you’ll hear it comes from a challenging upbringing and a lot of compassion for our humanity. Tom talks at length about how average he is and had to work so hard at learning how to be more. How he built a billion-dollar company in the wellness industry but hates working out…even though he does it every day. You’ll also hear me tackle a controversial video he posted titled, “It’s all your fault” where he charges us to take everything bad that’s ever happened to us and say, “It’s my fault.” Sound ridiculous? Listen in. Connect with Tom at Impacttheory.com or just search Facebook, Instagram, YouTube or iTunes for Impact Theory. 494: ZIGBOMB - Greg McKeown will see you at the top
In my interview with Greg McKeown, author of the book, “Essentialism”, he cited his fave Zig quote/concept was, “See You At The Top”, because 1) “There is always more room at top than the bottom" 2)“Life can be of ever increasing contribution" 3) “Our greatest contribution always lies ahead of us, not behind us.” From that I posted this question on my agentkmiller Facebook page: What role does "motivation" play in your real, day-to-day life? There is plenty of baggage associated with the word? I'm asking for some show content, so as always...looking for real feedback, not platitudes. Thank you! We got a wealth of responses that my cohost Michelle Prince and I covered…it was incredibly insightful into this world of personal development and motivation that admittedly has some differing perceptions and values to people. It ended up getting broken down into two parts, 1) motive as the core desire you have to pursue something, but then also 2) what you do to motivate yourself to take action when those times come and even though you want the achievement, you just don’t feel like doing the work. It made me really look at the topic differently. I expect it will for you too. Thanks to all of you who have been leaving new reviews in iTunes! That helps us get seen by more people. 493: HABITS - Greg McKeown’s personal health habits
Let us go behind the scenes with ‘Essentialism’ best selling author, Greg McKeown, for our HABITS show. If you didn’t catch our main interview with him in episode 492, go listen to it now! Today I walk through the seven spokes of success in the Ziglar Wheel of Life with Greg to see what his habits for success are, and I’ll tell you now, I bet you’ll hear some new ones. I sure did. For starters, he keeps a daily food journal, does a lot of trampolining with his kids, is intrigued by all that Jesus didn’t do, he fasts monthly and has compiled a journal of 10,000 items he’s grateful for. He was completely thoughtful, open and authentic. It was a tremendous joy and we shared some fun. I could tell you more, or dive in. Let’s go. He was completely thoughtful, open and authentic. 492: MIND – Greg McKeown, the higher status of essentialism
Greg McKeown is the bestselling author of the book, “Essentialism” - The Disciplined Pursuit of Less. The term best seller is used a lot, so let us clarify this is the real deal. The book was published 3.5 years ago and as of this writing is ranked as the 1,289 bestselling book on Amazon. Overall. That’s a big, big deal. And now having studied the book, we know why. It’s a game changer. A life changer. As you will hear in this interview, it’s not about minimalism. It’s more about making the right and best decisions. Putting decisions to an extreme tests. Being in control. A great analogy that sets a good stage is, Greg says that in an emergency, “Everyone is an essentialist.” We get on task, on target, divest ourselves of non-necessities, and do what is most efficient, effective and successful. So can you really live every moment like that? Listen in and find out. Connect with Greg and his revolutionary work at http://gregmckeown.com. 491: ZIGBOMB – Jordan Harbinger on giving to get
Jordan Harbinger of The Art of Charm podcast and empire was on stage at a live event he was MCing in Las Vegas and he gave us his favorite Ziglar quote, and why. The quote? “You can have everything in life you want if you will help enough other people get what they want.” Then this is interesting, I had been taking our guests quotes and crafting a question around them and posting to the Ziglar Facebook page which has nearly 4.5 million fans. We get many, many comments. This time however, I posted to my personal page at agentkmiller. We’ve never gotten so many in depth, authentic comments. So much that it was really hard to filter through and decide what to bring you, as it was too much to share them all. On that note, you are welcome to friend me at agentkmiller on Facebook, as I’ll be posting a question around our guests’ ZigBomb every week. So what is the question I posted that provoked so many deep comments? I asked, “While the concept sounds all well and great, where have you had success or challenge in living this concept out? What concerns and/or feedback do you have regarding the statement? Be as raw and honest as you will.” And people were just that, raw and honest. I brought in my co-host Michelle Prince to talk through some of the comments. Thanks to Joey who just left a 5 star review in iTunes and testifying to Tom Ziglar, right after some grumpy soul left a stinger about Tom.
