This infamous mass murder has countless parallels to our recent literary selections - Columbine, Michael Swango, and The Hart murder-suicide. The Rev. Jim Jones, a White man born in a Racially Restricted Region of Indiana, took a thousand people from California to Guyana, South America. On November 18th, 1978, Jones killed nearly all 1,000 of his mostly black followers and orchestrated the assassination of Congressman Leo Ryan. Some were shot, but most were poisoned with cyanide, just like "Double-0 Swango." For nearly half a century, this event has been conventionally understood as a bunch of brainwashed black loons following a White charlatan to their demise in the jungle. Meiers' work suggests something far more nefarious. Last week, Meiers provided historical context for the area known as Guyana - including meddling and disruption by the CIA and White people in the US and UK. Rev. One of the late Pamela Evans Harris's very favorite authors, Tate penned Pieces of A Puzzle: The One Thing Black Females Will Not Talk About! Her book is based on her research of black females and White Men who engage in sexual activity with each other. A student of Neely Fuller Jr., Tate vehemently supports the counter-racist logic of non-white people abstaining from sexual activity with individuals classified as White. Tragically, recent events reveal what can happen when young black boys and girls look for "fairy tails" and "love" from White people. Just last month, 19-year-old Sade Robinson was murdered and dismembered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin - Dahmer-Land. She reportedly had a "date" with a 33-year-old White Man, who's charged with Robinson's death. Authoritied have been unable to locate Ms. Robinson head. In Missouri, Suspected Racist Timothy Haslett Jr. is on trial for sexually terrorizing black people in the Kansas City area. In 2022, a black female escaped from his dungeon slave pen and notified police. Months later, a different black female, Jaynie Crosdale, who was to be witness for the prosecution, was found dead in barrel. In Idaho, prosecutors declined to prosecute a high school student accused of racially terrorizing the University of Utah's women's basketball team during the NCAA tournament. They cited insufficient evidence. In Illinois, John P. Shadbar is facing "hate crime" charges after shooting his White female neighbor who's married to a black male. Neutralizing Workplace Racism 05/10/24 Our beloved "Tumblin' Dice," a privileged black male who's allowed to operate a school bus transporting mostly White children, shared that he has now been charged with unprofessional conduct and terrorizing a White educator. It seems that a black dude questioning a White person about White educators Racially abusing him constitutes a threat - and may portend negro sexual aggression. We'll also revisit allegations of reckless and unsafe workplace culture at Boeing. Last week, we discussed the legal import of the term "whistleblower." This term confers legal protections to a worker who reports misconduct or criminal activity. Theoretically, without the the threat of unjust reprisals, workers will be less fearful about reporting misconduct. However, two White Boeing whistleblowers (Joshua Dean; John Barnett) have died under suspicious circumstances. Gus T. has said for years, the plantation is not safe. And Boeing mass manufactures weapons to kill. A number of courageous listeners shared about the emotional impact their job is having on their mental health. Much like 19th century California, there's gold and the coveted mineral bauxite Guyana soil. And there's a contested bitter border between Venezuela and Guyana. The presence of powerful White people like JIm Jones, helped secure the area. Meiers also highlighted how Jones used animals in his charade. White employed the "Twinkie Defense," alleging that after binging on junk food the evening of November 26th, a sugar stupor the following day caused him to mindlessly slaughter two White elected officials using hollow point bullets. He reloaded between the murders - and waved to future mayor Dianne Feinstein. White gays rioted in San Francisco to display their outrage over the lenient sentence White received - when he could have landed the death penalty. Meiers suggests that Jones was motivated to kill Mayor Moscone because he knew about the Peoples Temple's crimes and might snitch to investigators of the Guyana carnage. The prosecuting attorney, Joseph Freitas, was roundly criticized for his efforts and subjected to daily reminders and suspicion that he deliberately botched the 1976 investigation of voter fraud involving the Peoples Temple (and Mayor Moscone). Listeners and Gus T. think Meiers failed to present sufficient evidence of Jones' involvement in the murders and/or his motivation to kill these 2 White Men. The Context of White Supremacy welcomes the return of Cameron McWhirter, Racist Suspect. An author and reporter for The Wall Street Journal, McWhirter is a White man and Atlanta, Georgia resident. He covers politics and US news for the WSJ. McWhirter visited The C.O.W.S. back in 2011 to discuss his book Red Summer: The Summer of 1919 & the Awakening of Black America. This work examines the myriad of terrorist attacks against black people across the US and how this terrorist start to the 20th century birthed a number of attempted counter-racist organizations. The great Carter G. Woodson was nearly killed by a Racist White mob in the nation’s capitol during this macabre 1919 White pogrom. In 2023, McWhirter teamed up with Zusha Elision to write American Gun: The True Story of The AR-15. The book provides details on Eugene Stoner’s iconic black rifle that changed military and world history. This book mentions so many familiar, tragic events and people in the history of White Supremacy: the Columbine massacre of 1999; the Buffalo, New York TOPS massacre of 2022; the Uvalde school slaughter of 2022; the 2017 Las Vegas music festival slaughter; the 2020 Wisconsin protests where Kyle Rittenhouse killed two White people and wounded another. All these abominable events - except Columbine - involved the firearm of our times, Stoner's AR-15/M16 assault rifle. Gus is curious why there are no pictures of non-white people in this text and why McWhirter and his co-author mostly provide extra details about shooting victims who are classified as White. We learn lots of extra tidbits about a German White Woman who survived the Vegas carnage and the White parents who lost a child at Sandy Hook. American Gun provides no insight to the anguish the AR-15 has wreaked on the family and friends of Katherine Massey and the other TOPS victims or the non-white parents in Uvalde. When asked about this discrepancy, McWhirter highlighted the book went to publishing prior to Gendron's conviction and shortly after the 2022 massacres in Uvalde and Buffalo - which limited their access to information about these still developing cases. Reports allege "non-white" workers used the n-word to brand numerous black mechanical parts needed for air conditioning units. Additionally, black workers claim they were forced to work unpaid overtime hours. This practice is often called #WageTheft Importantly, Gus T. encourages that all non-white people practice Justice in the workplace and refrain from the use of any "racist slurs". The reverend grew so powerful, when Whites investigated the 1975 mayoral election for voter fraud, he had Temple crony Tim Stoen hired by District Attorney Joseph Freitas - also a Jones lackey - to help conceal truth about the electoral malfeasance. Surprisingly, they found no wrong doing, but, shockingly, all records of the voters for the 1975 mayoral elections have vanished. Along with rigging elections, many journalists and Bay Area citizens thought The Peoples Temple was connected to the 1978 assassinations of Mayor Mascone and Harvey Milk. Isaiah Shoels and Kyle Velasquez, two non-white students, were among those killed and being remembered a quarter century later. Thirty years ago yesterday, Race Soldier Timothy McVeigh bombed an Oklahoma City Federal Building, killing over 200 people. McVeigh was motivated by White Supremacy/Racism and his slaughter briefly interrupted the 1995 murder trial of dearly departed OJ Simpson and motivated the Columbine bombing four years later. We also heard an update on the Wisconsin butchering of 19-year-old Sade Robinson. Authorities are still locating and searching for her remains throughout the Milwaukee region. Further east in Ohio, Loletha Hall, a 61-year-old delivery driver, was shot and killed by an 81-year-old Racist Suspect. Meiers suggests that the SLA was a CIA creation and their harebrained kidnapping may have been an elaborate distraction to keep North Americans from paying more attention to the concurrent COINTELPRO and Watergate scandals involving state-sanctioned corruption. Meiers also suggests Rev. This recent publication examines how White Women skillfully use words to shape reproductive policy. However, Gus was able to research further and located Dr. Burdick’s 2023 dissertation, Spectacular Surveillance: Gender, White Christian Nationalism, and Evangelical Women in the Pro-Life Movement. This is a far more comprehensive treatment of the history and evolution of White Women’s Work to shape thinking about and legal restrictions regarding sexual behavior and production of offspring. Dr. Burdick submits that White Women have been the foundation of the White evangelical-backed opposition to abortion. Their "pro-life" rhetoric consciously and subconsciously reifies that White Lives. Matter. Leroy and Lakeisha were two of the names used to suggest that the job seeker was classified as black. Interestingly, the report made no mention of the same sort of impact for people with non-black, non-white sounding names. We also discuss the tremendous increase in young workers entering the trade industry as opposed accruing 4 years of debt and the shaky job prospects of a college degree. We learn a teaspoon about the history of tipping wait staff - which is directly connected to the System of White Supremacy. Female workers in jurisdictions with reduced minimum wage for tipped workers are more likely to be subjected to sexual abuse on the job. Jim Jones, a White man born in Indiana, took a thousand people from California to Guyana, South America. On November 18th, 1978, Jones killed nearly all 1,000 of his mostly black followers and orchestrated the assassination of Congressman Leo Ryan. Some were shot, but most were poisoned with cyanide, just like "Double-0 Swango." For nearly half a century, this event has been conventionally understood as a bunch of brainwashed black loons following a White charlatan to their demise in the jungle. Meiers' work suggests something far more nefarious. Last week, we learned about a number of suspicious deaths of Peoples Temple (PT) members that might be linked to Rev. Jones. The deaths of people like Maxine Harpe and Chris Lewis are often omitted from the standard narratives of Jonestown. Meiers suggests that Jones used his considerable political might in Mendocino County - which included PT members having local government jobs and Rev Jones' own employment as a school teacher and foreman on the Mendocino Co. jury - to squash unfavorably publicity and/or formal investigations of the temple. Gus denounced Meiers for mentioning the murder of 22-year-old Rory Hithe by PT member Chris Lewis, but failing to include that both black males were members of the Black Panther Party. In fact, Hithe was previously convicted for his involvement in the murder of Alex Rackley, who was reportedly accused of being an "agent" sent to spy on the Panthers. Hithe was released early for "excellent behavior." Lewis was found not guilty for killing Hithe, only to be murdered himself years later. Gavin Newsom, is composed of 80% non-white workers. Some workers experienced this wage boost with a simultaneous reduction in hours, or in some instances, layoffs. Across the continent in the Washington D.C., minimum wages will rise for tip-earning workers. Once again, this low-skill, low-wage employee group is disproportionately non-white. We heard more details about how Jones may have fabricated his medical records to help conceal his death in the massacre and we learned of suspicions that Jones may have been involved in the death of his adopted non-white daughter, Stephanie, and the White superintendent of the church's nursing home, Mable Stewart. Best selling author Yashica Dutt visited the University of Washington to discuss her globally successful book, Coming Out As Dalit: A Memoir of Surviving India’s Caste System. The book was first published in 2019, but an updated US version was released in 2023 that includes Gus' Seattle, Washington and the recent legislation to prohibit "caste discrimination" in the workplace. Dutt is a non-white female born in the area of the world known as India. Her memoir examines her life as a "Dalit," non-white female member of India's caste system. It's been said that this system of mistreatment predates the System of White Supremacy. However, Whites overpowered dark people in this part of the universe too. Gus learned that Vice President Kamala Harris is a member of India's upper caste - which may explain her access to the White House and a White husband. Gus was able to ask Dutt about the role of skin color in the caste system. The bestselling Dalit author had lots to say on this subject! She even detailed growing up with skin bleaching creams. Many non-white females in attendance (classified as Indian) seemed to vigorously relate to the experience of chemically damaging your melanin-rich epidermis. Many non-white people survived another Black History Month of phony acknowledgements and insincere gratitude from White co-workers. Only for March 1st to be hijacked as "Staff Appreciation Day." Some listeners reported that their colleagues brought in food, including specially wrapped donuts, and personalized greeting cards. Don't eat the donuts or drink the Koolaid while at work. We also discuss the St. Louis, Missouri bus mechanics and drivers who called out sick in response to a noose being placed on a bus. Dr. Joy Boulamwini visits Town Hall Seattle (in conjunction with Third Place Books) to discuss her 2023 publication, Unmasking AI: My Mission To Protect What Is Human in a World of Machines. Dr. Joy is a Rhodes Scholar, as in African Race Soldier Cecil Rhodes, and was the focal point of the 2020 documentary, Coded Bias, which examines how the System of White Supremacy is manifest in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence. She discussed some of the more recent cases, including the arrest of privileged black male, 42-year-old Robert Julian-Borchak Williams. The attempted black father of two was snatched from his front lawn and arrested in front of his offspring - just like the character Maverick in The Hate U Give. Detroit, Michigan enforcement officers used facial recognition technology to "identify" Williams as a watch thief. Turns out the technology makes a lot of "false positives" when it comes to identifying dark faces. Dr. Joy also mentioned the case of Porcha Woodruff, who also lives in Detroit. Just like Mr. Williams, Detroit enforcement officials used facial recognition technology to pin a carjacking caper on Woodruff. Ilyon Woo, non-white female, visits Elliot Bay Books in Seattle, Washington to promote her brand new book: Master Slave Husband Wife (2023). Gus T. learned about this book when searching for books published the previous calendar year. Woo's work of non-fiction made a number of lists for best non-fiction of the year. The book examines William and Ellen Craft, a pair of 19th century black slaves in the state of Georgia. Ellen Craft is the product of rape and has a White father. Consequently, she is pale enough to be accepted as a White person - so called "passing." After years of White Terrorism and torture on a Georgia slave plantation, William and Ellen take 4 days to concoct an escape plan. Ellen uses her lack of melanin and a fancy pair of pants to fake being an elderly White Man. William is "his" faithful negro slave, and the courageous pair makes haste for the so called north. Woo gives lots of details - including the northern speaking tours William and Ellen gave with the fellow slaves and orators Frederick Douglass and William Wells Brown. Even once the two were miles from the plantation, they could be stolen at any time. And because melanin deficient Ellen is "White presenting," her being married to dark-skinned William means that northern Whites often think she's a 19th century White Woman shacking up with a negro male. Following her perjury conviction earlier this year, Mosby could be sentenced to 30 years in federal prison. In Kansas City, Daysheion Renee Ponds, a 25-year-old black female, was brutalized by three White KCPD officers while viewing the Chiefs triumph over the Ravens during the NFL AFC Championship game just days ago. Ponds was viewing the football contest at a bar, and a dispute arose about the tab. In New York City, more details have been released about the beheading of Kawsheen Gelzer. The dismembered remains of the privileged black male were kept in a freezer and refrigerator for almost two years.
