New President Donald J. Trump spoke about the crash near the nation's capitol that resulted in 67 deaths and blamed so-called "DEI" hiring practices for the tragedy. I'm not sure if the president gave a shout out to Danasia Elder, a North Carolina flight attendant, or Kiah Duggins, a newly hired Howard professor. Both black females perished in the crash. Elsewhere, some of the Whites Terrorists pardoned by Trump have used their new freedom to continue their violent clashes with law enforcement officers. Suspected Racist soldier and recently pardoned Matthew Huttle was shot and killed in Indiana after allegedly resisting arrest during a traffic stop. A tragic aviation collision resulted in 67 deaths when an army helicopter collided with an American Airlines passenger flight which plunged both aircraft into the frigid Potomac River. Before the victims could be identified or fully retrieved, our new president blamed the horrific incident on failed "DEI" policies and the antics of our former president. This week, Trump held a spicy press conference where he insisted that air traffic control is a demanding job that requires "geniuses," not unqualified lamebrains who are signed on to fill quotas and diversity objectives. President Trump lamented the Federal Aviation Administration's work to hire people with disabilities, and, without evidence, suggested these hiring goals contributed to the crash. We also hear how black entrepreneurs are impacted by the calls to boycott Target department stores in the wake of the corporation's decisions to renege their "DEI" commitments. These vulnerable business owners think they may lose out if black people don't walk the aisles to find their products. The Katherine Massey Book Club @ The C.O.W.S. hosts the 6th study session on the late Dr. Maya Angelou's The Heart of A Woman. This is a rare "double dip" for the book club, as we read I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings in the summer of 2014 just after the transition of the famed author and Wake Forest scholar. Gus T. was inundated with the life and literary work of Dr. Angelou during his recent Golden State sojourn. And it took Gus seeing the documentary film Soundtrack to a Coup d'État three times to accurately write down the title Heart of a Woman. The extraordinary film on the assassination of Patrice Lumumba is "receipt-heavy," and Andrée Blouin and Dr. Angelou's respective memoirs are just 2 of the many books in the project. Last week, the late poet an Victim of White Supremacy told us about how she, Abbey Lincoln and other black females of the Cultural Association for Women of African Heritage helped to coordinate a rally on the New York United Nations building. This was in response to the assassination of Patrice Lumumba. Dr. Angelou grabbed a random black "thug" to help escort her into the building. NPR's Terry Gross, a Racist Suspect, interviewed Dr. Angelou in 1981 and confessed that she feared this privileged black "thug" was going to assault and "rape" our heroine in the UN stairwell. Thankfully, everyone kept their pants zipped. The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Matthew D. Taylor. A White Man and California native, Taylor “is a religious studies scholar and expert in independent charismatic Christianity and Christian nationalism. He is the creator, writer, and narrator of the Charismatic Revival Fury audio-documentary series on the Straight White American Jesus.” Gus T. heard about Taylor’s 2024 publication, The Violent Take It By Force: The Christian Movement That Is Threatening Our Democracy,” during the 2024 US presidential election campaign. Reports once again predicted that White evangelicals would be a solid, White rock of support for Trump’s third try at the White House. Taylor’s work explores how the White evangelical bloc became such staunch, violent allies for our current, less than pious president. He highlights how many of the now-pardoned White Terrorists who stormed the Capitol on January 6, 2021 believed they were soldiers in the army of White God who were battling against “dark,” satanic forces opposed to Trump’s second term. Gus is amazed The Peoples Temple’s Jim Jones was not mentioned in this book, as he’s is sterling illustration of the dangers of White evangelicals who deceptively use religious rituals to support the violence of the System of White Supremacy. Trump - who invoked the name of Dr. King throughout the services to officially mark his return to the White House. Before Washington, D.C. could clean up from the festivities, President Trump was shredding the Equal Employment Opportunity acts as well federal employment related to so called "Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion." Additionally, a number of people have voiced concern if not fear that because of Trump's threats to deport undocumented non-white immigrants, many jobs staffed by Victims of Racism who lack proper paperwork may go unfilled. The Context of White Supremacy makes time on the federally recognized holiday for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to study the work of Dr. Frances Cress Welsing. During Gus's Counter-Racist California Sojourn, he located a number of audio recordings of Dr. Welsing debating Dr. William Shockley as well as her giving lectures to groups of black people. One such recording is of a 1982 presentation the Grandcestor gave in Compton, California. She spoke at Compton Community College in April of '82, which is just over three years removed from the Jonestown massacre - which involved a large number of black Californians. Dr. Welsing makes time to mention the Peoples Temple in fact. She also discusses the sacrifices made and lessons that must be learned from the life and murder of Dr. King. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s federal holiday will be officially recognized by White people this coming Monday. Gus says expect some sort of tackiness from White co-workers over the next few days. #RacistJokes California is experiences nightmares as the death and property loss from the Southern California wildfires is still being calculated. Numerous non-white workers throughout the region lost their residence and/or their job because of the blazes or have had their health impacted by having to work in the midst of apocalyptic air pollution. And here in Gus T.'s Seattle, Washington state, King County Metro Workers honored non-white operator Shawn Yim who was stabbed to death by a White passenger earlier this year. Metro Transit operators, many of whom are classified as non-white, rallied to address the lack of safety for King County employees. According to reporting by Seattle's KING5 News, Yim allegedly exited the bus to confront his suspected killer who had pepper sprayed him before exiting the vehicle. While Dr. Angelou is globetrotting and drinking with White Men, her son is threatened by a gang of "worthless" black males. Her son Guy seems to insist with every other sentence that he: "Is a man." The Context of White Supremacy hosts a Counter-Racist Review of the ongoing wildfires in the Los Angeles, California area. It's very likely Gus T. would not be hosting this broadcast and would have had substantially less to say if he skipped the recent visit to the "Golden State" and the "City of Angels" specifically. It's poignant that Gus's primary problem with Los Angeles was the air pollution - which agitated his sinuses for the duration of his time there. Also, Gus sat on the beach in Malibu - close to where some of houses have burned to ashes - and proclaimed that climate change would destroy all the White people's beachfront mansions and property in the area. He was thinking of the encroaching sea level and gave no thought to the routine and devastating wildfires. We'll review the impact of the Palisades, Eaton and other blazes that have killed at least 24 people and razed tens of thousands of acres. A half million children - many of them classified as non-white - missed school this week. And nearly a thousand convicts, again, many of them classified as non-white - have been deployed to battle the deadly blazes while being paid (roasted) peanuts per day. The National Guard has been deployed to detain and discourage "looters" and to restrict access to still smoldering properties. We'll also make time to review how the uncontrolled infernos have further poisoned the Southern California air - which was far from pristine for starters. There were mandatory evacuations in areas of Los Angeles County where Gus T just visited (Santa Monica, Malibu). Gus' number one gripe while visiting SoCal was the toxic air quality. What's better than breathing? With the devastating fires, the air quality is even worse now. And if all this wasn't enough, there are widespread reports of "looters" ransacking evacuated houses. Dr. Angelou chose to honestly divulge her shortcomings when offered a job early in her career. A number of non-white listeners shared their own view on this matter, and they chose to remain quiet while learning as much as possible while in the new position. We also hear a number of reminders about why non-white people should avoid wearing headphones/earbuds while in the workplace. It's vital to be cognizant of what's being said and happening around you in your work area. We'll also review the sentencing of Major Michael Stockin who, according to FOX13 Seattle news, "Pleaded guilty in military court Tuesday to a total of 41 specifications." This including groping the genitals of numerous male soldiers. Dr. Angelou was so touched by their words she began thinking of how she could act to support their efforts. She's strikingly candid about the widespread tendency of she and most other black people to be "uncle toms" and the necessity of telling her black son about "the power of White power." A reported Terrorist attack in New Orleans, Louisiana hours into 2025 resulted in15 people being killed when a motorist drove a truck over a pedestrian path in the French Quarter. The attacker, Shamsud-Din Jabbar, engaged in gun fire with the police and is reported to have had explosive devises as well. Hours later, a Tesla cybertruck exploded in front of a Las Vegas, Nevada Trump hotel. The White motorist may have been deceased prior to the detonation. President Joe Biden announced that at this moment, there's no evidence linking the Nevada and Louisiana attacks. A black male, Shamsud-Din Jabbar, is suspected of acting alone in New Orleans and of being influenced by the terrorist group ISIS. The Nevada attacker is reportedly a Colorado Springs White Man and former Green Beret who has not been connected with ISIS. Both suspects have military experience and spent time at North Carolina's Fort Bragg. Gus T. emphasized the number of black male veterans who've engaged in recent acts of mass violence. This is a rare "double dip" for the book club, as we read I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings in the summer of 2014 just after the transition of the famed author and Wake Forest scholar. Ironically, when The C.O.W.S. last read Dr. Angelou, she was frolicking as a young lady in San Francisco. After spending over a month in the "Golden State," Gus T. debriefs on his California Counter-Racist Sojourn. We hear details on Gus' November 18 visit to Evergreen Cemetery in Oakland, the mass burial cite for the Victims of the Jonestown slaughter. Gus also details the experience of visiting the special collections libraries at Stanford University and the University of California at Berkeley. We also heard a fascinating investigation into the motivating factors for teens utilize vaping products. President Obama joined the campaign trail to chastise black males for lacking enthusiasm for VP Kamala Harris. Gus can't recall any candidate exclusively chastising the political views of White Women, White Men, Black females or other group. Most White people did not vote for Obama in 2008 or 2012, but no former president excoriated them for their Racist rejection of a non-white person with a White parent. From Florida to Tennessee, power outages, devastation and flooding been apocalyptic. As of today, at least 200 deaths are attributed to the Helene, making this the deadliest hurricane since Katrina. Like Katrina, some have used this moment to criticize the presidential administration's response to the disaster - which could influence next month's voting. We'll also pay respects to the late humanitarian and Victim of White Supremacy Dikembe Mutombo, who died this week at the age of 58. Born in the Congo, Mutombo used his NBA wealth to build a hospital in his native Congo. Tens of thousands of dockworkers in the US went on strike this week for better compensation and, importantly, prohibitions against automated technology. Some of the dockworkers took issue with even the use of automated gate at one of the shipping facilities. Apparently, automation or not, the US ports operate at one of the slowest rates in the known universe. Last week, a postal worker was attacked in a dispute over political paraphernalia for the coming presidential election. The United States Post Office made a warning about potential staffing and service problems as the November election nears.
