Patrick Phillips visits The Context of White Supremacy. A past fellow of the National Endowment for the Arts and the Guggenheim Foundation, Phillips teaches at Drew University in New York. His work has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and numerous other outlets. We'll discuss his first work of nonfiction, Blood At The Root: A Racial Cleansing In America, which was published last month. Phillips explores the 1912 purge of black families from Forsyth County, Georgia. After allegations that black males had assaulted two different White Women, lynchings, maulings and unadulterated White terrorism roamed the Georgia foothills. Black land was confiscated and evidence of this coordinated pogram of was deliberately hidden. Marybeth Gasman visits The Context of White Supremacy. A professor in the Graduate School of Education and director of the Penn Center for Minority Serving Institutions, Gasman holds secondary appointments in history, Africana studies, and the School of Social Policy and Practice at Penn. We'll investigate an essay she recently authored, which explicitly details how Whites intentionally block black people from obtaining faculty jobs at historically White academic institutions. The deceptive use of words is a key component. The essay caused such a kerfuffle, The Washington Post published a follow-up report sharing some of the comments generated by Gasman's piece. Thompson, the first black district attorney of Brooklyn, New York, died this week. He was a husband, a father, and 50 years-old. Regrettably, many have used this time to deprecate Mr. Thompson's work, voicing dissatisfaction with the Peter Liang case. Liang, a former NYPD officer, was found guilty earlier this year for the 2014 killing of an unarmed black male, Akai Gurley. Liang was not sentenced to jail time. Thompson's critics ignore his years of counter-racist work, which includes convicting the White savage who anally raped Abner Louima in 1997. Thompson also stopped prosecuting low level cannabis offenses in his jurisdiction and " agreed to overturn 21 convictions and re-examine more than 100 in one of the most ambitious efforts of its kind." Because of his labor, some prisoners who were caged for decades were released. Mr. Thompson wasn't the only black public servant having a tough time in New York. Black firefighters launched a $150 million law suit against the FDNY, charging racial discrimination. In the Caribbean, Haiti continues to suffer from the calamity of Hurricane Matthew. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the fifth study session on Sam Greenlee's 1969 literary sensationl, The Spook Who Sat By The Door. The bestseller was adapted into a major motion picture in 1973 and remains a treasured examination of Racism. Greenlee died in 2014. The protagonist, Dan Freeman, becomes the first black agent at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Freeman acquires as much knowledge as possible in order to share his training and expertise with terrorized black people so that they can coordinate a counter-violence offensive against White Supremacy. Last week's session provided a well known, painful narrative of a black teen being killed by Chicago police. Freeman and his long time friend and police detective, Phil Dawson, argue over the efficacy of the "riots." Dawson minimizes the System of Racism and argues that "burning and looting" will do no good. Freeman reminds Dawson that victims of oppression always fight back and that Racists think of all black people - education or no - as niggers. Their conversation sounds like many of the conversations concerning Black Lives Matter and the unrest in Ferguson, Missouri, Baltimore, Maryland and Charlotte, North Carolina. Freeman and the Cobras, his revolutionary black gang members, use the conflagration to begin their own campaign of counter-violence. Charlo Greene visits The Context of White Supremacy. A former journalist for KTVA in Alaska, Ms. Greene became a viral sensation when she resigned live on air, chucking her reporting gig to become a cannabis proprietor in Alaska. The state legalized recreational use of marijuana in November of 2014. Ms. Greene dedicated her time and energy to help end cannabis prohibition in her home state. She established the Alaska Cannabis Club to provide safe space for adults to acquire the herb. Unbeknownst, to Ms. Greene, "Detectives immediately targeted the operation, with six undercover purchases and two raids in a five-month period, records show." The former reporter is now facing 14 offenses and could spend more than a fifty years in prison. We're anxious to hear if Ms. Greene thinks she's being targeted for her "uppity" exit from KTVA. Natasha Marin visits The Context of White Supremacy. A writer and interdisciplinary artist, Marin is a mother and Gus's Washington state neighbor. She was born in Trinidad and is a naturalized citizen of the United States and Canada. During the summer of 2016, a social media excercise evolved into the website: www.Reparations.me. Non-whites are encouraged "to ask for what we need to feel better, be happier, be more productive by posting in this space. These may be both material and immaterial requests." Marin then invited "people who identify as White to offer services or contributions." The cite has generated extraorinsary attention from around the world. A number of non-white people have been able to ask for and receive constructive assisatance. However, non-white people requesting help and Ms. Marin have been terrorized; Suspected Racists have labeled them "whores," "bloodsuckers," and racial slurs. Tellingly, this is the same town where Whites intentionally closed their schools for five years to keep black children away from White kids. Continuing the pattern, Sunday's pending debate between Hillary R. Clinton and Donald J. Trump will take place in St. Louis, Missouri; the candidates will spar down the road from where Michael Brown Jr. was killed by Ferguson police. The drama won't be restricted to politics, as Nate Parker and Ava DuVernay each have new films addressing Racism premiering this week. Parker's The Birth Of A Nation hits the silver screen after months spent thrashing the actor and filmmaker for rape accusations nearly two decades old. DuVernay's acclaimed film, 13th, deconstructs how slavery has been refined, not abolished. Her film makes known how decades of deliberately Racist laws have caged generations of black people. The political performances, box office debuts and the launch of Luke Cage obscured the destruction Hurricane Matthew delivered in Haiti. The bestseller was modified into a major motion picture in 1973 and remains an acclaimed critique of Racism. Greenlee died in 2014. The main character, Dan Freeman, becomes the first black agent at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Freeman acquires as much knowledge as possible in order to transfer that intelligence to terrorized black people so that they can organize a counter-violence offensive against White Supremacy. Last week's session stressed how members of the Cobras, a black Chicago gang, became motivated scholars. Freeman articulates his rage about the waste of black genius that White Supremacy guarantees. Freeman also demands that the Cobras follow logic and knowledge as opposed to worshiping an individual; his reasoning sounds identical to Mr. Neely Fuller's concept of "united, independent" codification. Trump wranggled during the first presidential debate of 2016. The brouhaha was the most watched presidential debate in history, rivaling Super Bowl ShondaLand ratings. Many outlets crowned Clinton the victor - even praising her straightforward articulation of Racism. However, the "liberal" New York Times' Tuesday (Sept. 27th) edition made the debate front page news, but parallel to the debate photo was a report detailing the spike in murders during 2015. This seemed to substantiate Trump's demands for "law and order" and intensified police surveillance. Upstate from the throw down in Hofstra, Oral Hillary, a 42-year-old black male, was acquitted during the trial for a murdered white 12-year-old in Potsdam, New York. Hillary was previously invovled in a sexual relationship with the child's White mother. Many White residents seethed having to endure another black male walk free. Black scholars from Missouri to Nebraska to Michigan to Pennsylvania continue to have a hard time walking the halls of higher learning. The authorities released video of Keith Scott's execution by enforcement officers in North Carolina - and simultaneously reminded us that Scott was a no count, dangerous negro. The greatest tennis player of all time, Serena Williams, revealed her fears about driving under White Terrorism. Kelly Freeman visits The Context of White Supremacy. During last week's chaos with the killing of Keith Lamont Scott in Charlotte, North Carolina and the ensuing outcry, Ms. Freeman took to social media to announce her "pro black" leanings. She expressed her solidarity with black people and that she feels a greater devotion to black people than to "most of these White folks." Ms. Freeman is suspected of being involved in a sexual arrangement with a black male. It seems they may have children. We're excited to hear if she's willing to speak truthfully about White Supremacy and her status as a person classified as White. Marcus Rediker. visits The Context of White Supremacy. The Distinguished Professor of Atlantic History at the University of Pittsburgh, Mr. Rediker is an award-winning author and historian with a research focus on the enslavement of black people. He's invested years of time in the campaign to abolish the death penalty. On a previous C.O.W.S. broadcast, Dr. Frances Cress Welsing referenced his 2007 publication, The Slave Ship: A Human History. The book offers a comprehensive study of the experience on a slave vessel. Rediker provides information on the construction of the ships, the formation of the ship's crew, and the theft of Africans. He consistently reminds readers that slave ships were equivalent to a moving prison and mandated that the stolen Africans be subjected to unending terrorism. Interestingly, Rediker writes that the slave ship crystalized the creation of the White race. Mr. Rediker was also a consultant on this summer's re-boot of Roots. Ahmad Khan Rahami engaged in a shootout with enforcement officials before being captured alive; he's a primary suspect in New York's Chelsea explosions over the weekend. Presidential hopeful Donald J. Trump blamed "political correctness" and reminded citizens that these attacks are possible because of weak immigration laws - which he will correct if elected. Ongoing terrorism against black people continued with the shooting death of Keith Lamont Scott in Charlotte, North Carolina. The 21st century Racist script dictates that whenever possible, showcase a prominent black enforcement official to deflect allegations of White tyranny. Charlotte Police Chief Kerr Putney (black male) has been front and center maintaining that Scott was armed and killed by a black officer. Both of these claims have been disputed by eye witness testimony - there's even a White witness reporting that a White officer executed Scott. Protests in Charlotte have raged throughout the week, and some black people are proposing a complete economic boycott in Charlotte. Down the road, Betty Shelby, a White Tulsa Police officer, was charged with first-degree manslaughter for killing Terence Crutcher in Tulsa, Oklahoma last Friday. Crutcher was black and unarmed. The video footage of his execution has entertained millions this week. President Barack Obama recommended hope, chided black people to put their faith in Hillary R. Freeman exemplifies counter-racist codification: adhering to his well constructed plan, not retaliating when insulted by Whites or blacks, and attempting to learn as much as possible. Early in the text, Greenlee foregrounds the frequency and harm inflicted by Whites sexually exploiting black people. The NCAA cartel launched their own protest by moving all college championship contests out of the state of North Carolina in opposition to the HB2 Bill - which has infuriated the Gay Rights, LGBT division. The loss is estimated to cost the state approximately $50 million. Whites demonstrate much less motivation to address the ongoing violation of black people like Sandra Bland - who died under contested circumstances in a Texas jail last year. The top seller was adapted to major motion picture in 1973 and remains a revered critique of Racism. Greenlee died in 2014. The main character, Dan Freeman, becomes the first black employee at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). The book preceded Ali's death by mere months. Roberts and Smith, both Suspected Racists, provide their study of the genesis and abrupt end to Ali and Minister Malcolm's bond and how their friendship evaporated as Minister Malcolm's exile from Elijah Muhammad and the Nation of Islam became permanent. Unfortunately, Ali was not able to mend things before Malcolm's 1965 assasination. Last week's segment detailed Ali and Minister Malcolm's travels throughout the continent of Africa. They detail Minister Malcolm's meetings with African leaders and citizens and his efforts to conceptualize Racism as a global problem for all black people. They provide a thorough analysis of how the CIA and international enforcement agencies pressured African leaders to distance themselves from Malcolm. The book also detailed Ali's tremendous popularity on the continent, especially his notoriety with Muslims. However, they emphasize his ignorance of orthodox Muslim practices and diplomatic missteps when visiting Nigeria. Most importantly, the book completely ignores Minister Malcolm being poisoned while in Egypt; it seems improbable that Elijah Muhammad and the Nation of Islam were behind this attack. Pastor Johnny Lee Gaddy visits The Context of White Supremacy. At the age of eleven, Mr. Gaddy was remanded to Florida's Dozier Reform School. He attended the school from 1957 to 1961. He was subjected to a constant living hell. Ms. Antoinette Harrell interviewed Mr. Gaddy and many other Dozier victims and ultimately helped Mr. Gaddy write about his experiences in the book, They Told Me Not To Tell: Dozier Reform School Was A Living Hell. He speaks candidly about being raped as a child and witnessing other boys being sexually terrorized with impunity. Mr. Gaddy also details how young black children were enslaved and forced to do grueling farm work that produced a massive profit. Mr. Gaddy reveals "he was in constant fear for his life. Seeing as this month is the 4th anniversary of the police killing of Mark Duggan and the subsequent "London Riots" as well as the Marikana mining massacre in South Africa, no one should be bewildered by these routine disturbances. Another recurring theme on the global plantation is White liars. US Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte is suspected of fabricating a grizzly tale where he and three other athletes were robbed at gun point in Brazil. Video footage of the alleged mugging has been released; however, Lochte has still garnered a high level of sympathy and support. Conversely, film maker Nate Parker, who's feature-length film on counter-terrorist Nat Turner is slated to be released later this year, has been badgered by allegations that he raped a White Woman while attending Penn State University. The Context of White Supremacy hosts a counter-racist review of Sue Africa's recent performance on the broadcast. Sue Africa is one of the few White members of the Philadelphia MOVE collective. She's been with he group for more than thirty years, spent time in prison, and was confined to a mental institution as a result of her activities. Ramona Africa said that Sue Africa has suffered as much or more than any other MOVE member. During her visit to The C.O.W.S., Sue Africa agreed that it is logical for non-white people to not trust any White person until White Supremacy has been permanently eliminated. However, she was extremely agitated about being questioned with suspicion as a White Woman. She did share intriguing anecdotes about how she practiced White Supremacy against black members of MOVE; she testified that she used a coat made by a member's black grandmother as a blanket for her hounds. When asked if she continues to practice Racism (White Supremacy) and why she emplys profanity to communicate, she became defensive and accused Gus of being a "cop." To coroberate her point, the Department of Justice authored yet another damning assessment of a United States police department; the DOJ specified how Freddie Gray's Baltimore Police terrorize and molest black citizens of Maryland. And since Whites don't need a badge or license to violate black people, Kouren-Rodney Bernard Thomas, 20, was branded a gun-toting hoodlum, shot and killed in North Carolina. Chad Copley has been arrested and charged with Thomas' murder. Speaking of White killers, the black inmate who allegedly attacked Dylann Roof, the terrorist who killed 9 at Mother Emanuel AME, received enough donations to secure his release from prison. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 5th study session on Randy Roberts' and Johnny Smith's 2016 offering, Blood Brothers: The Fatal Friendship Between Muhammad Ali and Malcolm X. The book hit stores months before the passing of Ali. Roberts and Smith, both Racist Suspects, deconstruct the genesis and dissolution of Ali and Minister Malcolm's relationship and how their friendship degenerated as Minister Malcolm's exile from Elijah Muhammad and the Nation of Islam finalized. Unfortunately, Ali was unable to reconcile things with Malcolm before his 1965 assassination. Last week's session again stressed the massive surveillance targeting Minister Malcolm and the Nation of Islam. The White authors continue to describe Cassius Clay as a master deceiver. The text also revealed how Clay's White handlers became increasingly troubled about his contact with the NOI. Well before Clay became heavyweight champion, he echoed the teachings of Elijah Muhammad and Minister Malcolm X. While Jackie Robinson and other celebrities proudly endorsed the NAACP and the 1963 March on Washington, Clay (and Malcolm X) ridiculed the organization, the tactic of non-violence, and the "Farce On Washington" for being manipulated by Whites and an inadequate solution to White Supremacy. Antoinette Harrell visits The Context of White Supremacy. A Genealogist, Historian, Peonage Researcher and author, Ms. Harrell has dedicated years researching how hundreds of thousands of black people remained formally enslaved for decades following the Civil War. She's investigated thousands of peonage records to demonstrate how Whites maintained domination over allegedly emancipated black people. We'll review her 2013 book, Dark Days of Horror at Dozier: Rapes, Murders, Beatings & Slavery. The text chronicles decades of barbaric, sadistic brutalization of black boys in a Florida reform school. The now deffunct Dozier school received a immense of attention in recent years. There's a new documentary and continued exhumations have unearthed human remains and further evidence of the inhumanity reserved exclusively for black children. Sue Africa visits The Context of White Supremacy. One of the few White members of MOVE, Sue Africa has dedicated years of time and energy in the Philadelphia black liberation collective. Sue Africa was a part of the MOVE organization at the time of the 1985 bombing of group's residence. However, she was in prison at the time of the massacre. Her son, Tomaso Africa, was one the eleven fatalities. We're eager to hear her views on Ramona Africa's conclusion that Sue Africa has suffered more or as much as any black member of MOVE. However, this was not a time of jubilee for black Brazilians, the largest black population on the planet outside of Africa. Massive numbers of discounted non-white people have been racially dislocated to make room for White recreational enjoyment. Riot police were employed to manage demonstrations during the running of the torch. Speaking of peace officers, Korryn Gaines, a 23-year-old black mother, was shot and killed in her Maryland residence this week. Her five year son was also shot. Gaines used social media to submit her perspective of the conflict, which motivated local enforcement officers to ask Facebook to disable her account. Kenneth Walker also found his homestead under siege. A New York volunteer firefighter, Walker was racially threatened days before his residence was set ablaze. A White terrorist, Matthew Jurado, has been arrested and charged for the arson. And there's no shortage of White Terrorists. Thomas Edwin Blanton Jr's parole bid was denied; Blanton was convicted for his involvement in the 1963 bombing which killed four black girls in a Birmingham, Alabama church.
