The C.O.W.S. Gil Scott-Heron THE LAST HOLIDAY Part 5
The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 5th study session on Gil Scott-Heron's memoir, The Last Holiday. A poet, author, musician and victim of White Supremacy, Scott-Heron died in 2011. He wrote and performed music that explicitly discussed black lives and how the System of White Supremacy devastates black people. Legendary selections like "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" encourage many to list Scott-Heron as one of the pioneer of hip-hop music. Last week's session explored Gil's leadership of a campus-wide boycott at Lincoln University regarding inadequate health facilities for the students. Gil mobilized black veterans and approximately six hundred HBCU students to forgo classes until the white president and administration vastly improved the school's medical resources. The biography discussed a sizable amount of alcohol and cannabis consumption by Gil and his friends; in fact, alcohol may have contributed to a potentially leathal car crash involving Gil and his friends. In his early 20's, Gil published multiple books and albums, obtained a college degree, and traveled the globe playing music that candidly addressed Racism. We'll compare The Last Holiday to the other biographies inspected on our book club - Maya Angelou, Assata Shakur, Malcolm X. #AnswersForMiriamCarey INVEST in The COWS - http://paypal.me/GusTRenegade CALL IN NUMBER: 641.715.3640 CODE 564943#
The C.O.W.S. Workplace Racism 07/06/17
The Context of White Supremacy hosts our Thursday weekly forum on Workplace Racism. The reason for this program is to refine non-white people's problem-solving ability and to bolster how black people think, speak, act and control emotions while on the job. Any listeners who've unearthed the best way to keep down disputes with White and/or non-white co-workers, avoid demotions, write-ups, terminations or other aggression we experience under Racist labor conditions should promptly call in with particulars. We always welcome the experiences of "black entrepreneurs;" please, tell us how being "self-employed" makes your work experience better. We'll hear counter-racist counsel from listeners as well as individual reflections from your own work history. Gus recommends Victims of Racism write down crucial workplace events. Documenting your thoughts and workplace occurrences is more dependable than memory, and the act of documenting can clarify your thinking. We'll also ask that non-white listeners share important portions of the policy and procedure from your current place of employment. #AnswersForMiriamCarey INVEST in The COWS - http://paypal.me/GusTRenegade CALL IN NUMBER: 641.715.3640 CODE 564943#
The C.O.W.S. Compensatory Call-In 07/01/17
The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly Compensatory Call-In. We encourage non-white listeners to dial in with their codified concepts, new terms, observations, research findings, workplace problems or triumphs, and/or suggestions on how best to Replace White Supremacy With Justice ASAP. We'll use these sessions to hone our use of words as tools to reveal truth, neutralize White people. We'll examine news reports from the past seven days and - hopefully - promote a constructive dialog. #ANTIBLACKNESS During the first full week of summer and days before July 4th, a Mississippi memorial to slain black teen Emmett Till was viciously mutilated. No suspects have been apprehended. Speaking of White Terrorism, the 100-year anniversary of the 1917 East St. Louis "Race Riots" is this holiday weekend. Three years after Ferguson's Michael Brown Jr. was killed, Missourians are reflecting on the improvements in "race relations" one century after Whites slaughtered more than a hundred black females, males and children, according to some historians estimates. Tennis legend John McEnroe provided another brilliant illustration of White culture and the emasculation of black females by comparing Serena Williams to male players. And the dangerous trend of homicidal White motorists continues, as Bianca Nikol Roberson, a black teenager who just graduated high school, was shot and killed by an unknown Race Soldier. The White murderer fled the scene and has not been apprehended or identified. #AnswersForMiriamCarey INVEST in The COWS - http://paypal.me/GusTRenegade CALL IN NUMBER: 641.715.3640 CODE 564943# The C.O.W.S. archives: http://tiny.cc/76f6p
The C.O.W.S. Gil Scott-Heron THE LAST HOLIDAY Part 4
The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 4th study session on Gil Scott-Heron's memoir, The Last Holiday. A poet, author, musician and victim of White Supremacy, Scott-Heron died in 2011. He wrote and performed music that explicitly addressed black lives and how the System of White Supremacy brutalizes black people. Iconic selections like "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" and "White on the Moon" encourage many to list Scott-Heron as one of the founders of hip-hop music. Last week's session described how Gil's mother adjusted to being diabetic and how his mother's health scare made him leave his interview for the exclusive white high school in New York. Gil was accepted to the new school and declared that not one of students or faculty was Racist. He did take time to vividly detail a White instructor who hoped to have Scott-Heron tarred and feathered, or at least stuck with a week of detention, for playing "boogie woogie" music on the expensive school piano. After high school, Gil matriculated to Lincoln University, an HBCU in Pennsylvania. With a White president at the helm, the school became coed one year before Gil's 1967 freshman year. Gil said he was partly motivated to complete his first book, The Vulture, so that he could showoff to all his black classmates, friends and family members - corroborating Mr. Neely Fuller Jr.'s concern about the prevalence and worthlessness of showing off to other black people. We'll compare The Last Holiday to the other biographies covered on our book club - Maya Angelou, Assata Shakur, Malcolm X. #AnswersForMiriamCarey INVEST in The COWS - http://paypal.me/GusTRenegade CALL IN NUMBER: 641.715.3640 CODE 564943#
The C.O.W.S. Workplace Racism 06/29/17

The C.O.W.S. w/ Dr. Tommy Curry Part 9
Dr. Tommy Curry returns to The Context of White Supremacy. An associate professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Texas A&M, Dr. Curry's research interests include philosophy, jurisprudence, Africana Studies, and Gender Studies. His primary area of study is Critical Race Theory and Africana Philosophy. We're eager to investigate Dr. Curry's new book, The Man-Not: Race, Class, Genre, and the Dilemmas of Black Manhood. The text examines how the suffering of black males is disregarded and minimized. Dr. Curry writes that contrary to claims that too much attention is given to plight of black males - at the expense of Black females, centuries of sexual violence, economic exploitation, and incarceration are poorly understood and buried. Deviating from popular theories, The Man-Not posits that the System of White Supremacy denies Black males the chance to engage in patriarchy. As such, popular models that insist black males are in cahoots with White men to persecute all women, fail to recognize the infinite ways white women and men neutralize black agency in all area of people activity. #AnswersForMiriamCarey INVEST in The COWS - http://paypal.me/GusTRenegade CALL IN NUMBER: 641.715.3640 CODE 564943#

Officers had knowledge that Lyles had mental health issues, but were unable (unwilling) to use nonlethal force. Like Ferguson, Missouri and Newark, New Jersey, the Seattle Police Department has been under consent decree for excessive force and allegations of racism. Across the country, a black Muslim seventeen-year-old, Nabra Hassanen, was bludgeoned to death with a baseball bat after leaving a mosque. Her accused killer, Darwin Martinez Torres, was arrested and could face hate crime charges for the the slaughter. More than a year after three black female University of Albany students reported being assaulted by a drunken gang of white college kids only later to be themselves charged with filing a false report of racial abuse, a judge sentenced the students to probation, community service and a fine. In England, the death toll for the Grenfell Tower fire is "officially" at 79, but residents and skeptics suspect "emergency services and the media are deliberately downplaying the number of dead and missing." #AnswersForMiriamCarey INVEST in The COWS - http://paypal.me/GusTRenegade CALL IN NUMBER: 641.715.3640 CODE 564943# The C.O.W.S. archives: http://tiny.cc/76f6p
The C.O.W.S. Gil Scott-Heron THE LAST HOLIDAY Part 3
The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 3rd study session on Gil Scott-Heron's memoir, The Last Holiday. A poet, author, musician and victim of Racism, Scott-Heron passed away in 2011. He composed an impressive body of music that directly addresses black lives and how the System of White Supremacy tortures black people. Iconic selections like "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" encourage many to list Scott-Heron as one of the creators of rap/hip-hop music. Last week's session emphasized the many deaths Scott-Heron experienced as a child. His grandmother Lily Scott and Aunt Sissy died while he was a child in Tennessee. He was in school when President John F. Kennedy was killed. He also dealt with the trauma of being one of the first black children to be allowed to attend an all white school in his town. After Whites annihilated the black town in Tennessee by constructing a highway, Scott-Heron and his mother moved to New York. Once in the Big Apple, his mother advocated to get him the best education possible - her work included confronting Racist teachers who thought of her son as a Frankenstein.

The C.O.W.S. w/ Esther Stanford-Xosei: Grenfell Tower Fire
The Context of White Supremacy welcomes the return of Esther Stanford-Xosei live from the United Kingdom. A globally acclaimed Reparationist, Jurisconsult, dynamic community advocate and radio broadcaster, Mrs. Stanford-Xosei has tirelessly advocated for reparations for black people. Most recently, she was a guest on the BBC's The Big Questions, where they examined if white people can be victims of racism. Mrs. Stanford-Xosei did a superb job explaining why whites are not victims. We're anxious to get her thoughts on the catastrophic Grenfell Tower fire in London, England. As of Sunday, June 18th, the police report that 58 people are presumed to have died. However, it's already been reported that establishing an accurate tally of the victims could be challenging. We'll get her views on Racism is being omitted from the coverage of this disaster. The C.O.W.S. Global Sunday Talk On Racism 06/18/17
The Context of White Supremacy hosts our monthly Global Sunday Talk On Racism. This program is specifically egnineered to encourage participation from Victims of Racism outside the United States and/or non-white people who are not able to call in during our usual broadcast time. We'll discuss the Grenfell Tower Fire in London, England. The twenty-four story tower was quickly razed by fire. As of Sunday, June 17th, 58 deaths have been attributed to the blaze, and authorities expect the final number of fatalities to be higher. "Gentrification" has significantly lowered the number of black residents in the area, but a high number of black people continue to live at Grenfell Tower. Many of the residents had decried the unsafe living conditions of the complex and predicted a tragic fire for years. This incident calls to mind, the 1981 New Cross fire, which sparked the infamous Brixton Riots when black Britons and police clashed. We'll also make time to discuss Theresa May's dreadful showing in the recent election. #AnswersForMiriamCarey INVEST in The COWS - http://paypal.me/GusTRenegade CALL IN NUMBER: 641.715.3640 CODE: 564943# The C.O.W.S. archives: http://tiny.cc/76f6p

Rep. Steve Scalise, who in 2014 admitted to having addressed a White Supremacist organization, was shot in the frenzy. He survived. Deliberations in the Bill Cosby criminal trial have concluded, and the mostly White jury is allegedly deadlocked. The Judge ordered them to continue seek a unanimous conclusion. A black male, Jeremy Jerome Jackson, was found decapitated and set on fire in Mississippi. As of yet, no one has been arrested for this terrorist crime. While Whites claimed "progress" with the 50-year anniversary of the Loving Supreme Court decision, which legalized "interracial marriage," the law suit for the 2013 death of Kendrick Johnson was dismissed. The C.O.W.S. Gil Scott-Heron: THE LAST HOLIDAY PART 2
The Context of White Supremacy hosts the second study session on Gil Scott-Heron's autobiography, The Last Holiday. A poet, writer, musician and victim of Racism, Scott-Heron died in 2011. He composed an array of songs, poetry, and books that directly address black lives and how the System of White Supremacy terrorizes black people. Iconic selections like "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" cause many to list Scott-Heron as one of the creators of hip-hop music. The first week's session stressed the value of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as well as black genius Stevie Wonder's vigorous commitment to securing a federal holiday for the assassinated preacher. Scott-Heron detailed how his early childhood years were with his grandmother in Mississippi. He branded Mississippi the most racist state, a place where he "felt Black and mistreated." 14-year-old Emmett Till and Medgar Evers were murdered while Scott-Heron was a Mississippi resident. He also described his "fair-skinned" grandmother Lily Scott who sassed Whites and highlighted the importance of education. The first week of Bill Cosby criminal trial concluded. The prosecution completed their argument, and there's speculation the former entertainment mogul may testify. Speaking of comedy, chaos reigned at the White House, as former FBI director Jamey Comey testified before the Senate. His workplace docuementation became key evidence. One of Gus's BFF's, Bill Maher, spent the week backpedalling and apologizing after he referenced himself as a "house nigga" while talking to Republican Senator Ben Sasse. Victims of Racism like Dr. Michael Eric Dyson, who's repeatedly been a guest on the white comic's late night show, have been voluntary character witnesses and insist Maher is not a Racist. Again spotlighting the attention to social media, Harvard University rescinded admission to at least a 12 students charged with posting racist commentary online. These Ivy League-bound White teens demonstrated supreme awareness of White Supremacy. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the debut study session on Gil Scott-Heron's memoir, The Last Holiday. A poet, author, musician and victim of Racism, Scott-Heron passed away in 2011. He composed an array of music that directly address black lives and how the System of White Supremacy terrorizes black people. Iconic selections like "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" encourage many to list Scott-Heron as one of the founders of hip-hop music. We begin his 2012 biography, which details his childhood in the South and his migration to New York. One of the core motivations for writing this book is to describe his effort to help erect a federal holiday in honor of late activist and minister Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scott-Heron describes how musical genius Stevie Wonder was also a fierce advocate to officially recognize Dr. King's sacrifice. LeBron James' California residence was targeted with racist vandalism - nigger was scrawled on the property. On the eve of his seventh consecutive appearance in the championship round, James took the opportunity to discuss the challenges black people face - even those who have money. James reviewed the 1955 lynching of Emmett Till and the importance of honestly addressing White Supremacy. Speaking of lynching, a White terrorist, Anthony Hammond, assailed an unarmed black California resident. Hammond was arrested and charged with battery and assault and could face "hate crime" charges - he was heard shouting racist insults before his violent attack. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 10th and final study session on the 2017 autobiography of the late Coretta Scott King, My Life, My Love, My Legacy. Mrs. King passed away in January 2006. Before her death, the civil rights heroine worked with accomplished journalist Rev. Dr. Barbara Reynolds to record her life and times. The New Orleans Tribune recommends everyone study this memoir, calling it a timely read for the current climate of hostility and "emboldened" White Supremacy. During last week's session, Mrs. King provided a myriad of personal details about mothering her four children without Dr. King. She described how each child managed with the trauma of losing their father to white violence. All of the children invested time supporting the King Center and protecting their father's legacy. The text continued to dogmatically promote non-violence as the only means of eliminating White Supremacy, echoing sentiments of the forgiveness commanded by White Supremacy-saturated christianity. The C.O.W.S. w/ William Willimon: Who Lynched Willie Earle?
Professor William Willimon visits The Context of White Supremacy. "Professor of the practice of Christianity" at North Carolina's Duke University, Willimon served as dean of Duke Chapel and professor of Christian ministry for two decades. He's written over 60 books and holds honorary degrees from more than ten institutions. We'll investigate his 2017 publication, Who Lynched Willie Earle? Confronting Racism through Preaching. Professor Willimon writes about the 1947 lynching of twenty-four-year-old Willie Earle. White terrorists blamed him for the death of a White taxi driver and abducted the unarmed black male from a South Carolina jail. Earle was tortured and mutilated before being murdered. No one was convicted for the crime. Willimon's book explores how the religion of White Supremacy encouraged the lynching and enslavement of black people. Like convicted mass killer Dylann Storm Roof, Willimon is a White man and a South Carolina native. He also uses the book to examine his own culpability for the system of White Supremacy. #AnswersForMiriamCarey INVEST in The COWS - http://paypal.me/GusTRenegade CALL IN NUMBER: 641.715.3640 CODE 564943# The C.O.W.S. archives: http://tiny.cc/76f6p

There were 22 reported casualties. Richard Collins III, a Bowie State student and member of the armed services, was murdered by a White domestic terrorist. Christopher Urbanski has been charged with first degree murder and may face additional hate crime charges for killing Collins, who was days from graduating. Speaking of terrorist villains, former entertainer Bill Cosby's criminal trial began this week. 12 jurors were selected for Cosby's sexual assault hearing. 10 of the 12 jurors are likely White, which sparked OJ Simpson-like controversy and accusations of "the race card" being played. In New Orleans, Louisiana, Mayor Mitch Landrieu and city officials successfully removed four monuments to various Confederate icons. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 9th study session on the 2017 autobiography of the late Coretta Scott King, My Life, My Love, My Legacy. Mrs. King died at the beginning of 2006. Before her transition, the civil rights icon reviewed her life and accomplishments with acclaimed journalist, Rev. Dr. Barbara Reynolds. The New Orleans Tribune encourages everyone to read this memoir, calling it a timely read for the current climate of hostility and "emboldened" White Supremacy. Last week's session detailed Mrs. King's counter-racism work in South Africa and here in North America. She disclosed frustrations with reports that Randall Robinson and Jesse Jackson were disatisfied with her involvement in the anti-apartheid effort. She charged that the two attempted to discourage South Africans from meeting with her. Mrs. King persevered, forged a bond with Winnie and Nelson Mandela, and stood with Madiba when he was elected president of South Africa. The C.O.W.S. Workplace Racism 05/25/17
The Context of White Supremacy hosts our Thursday weekly workshop on Workplace Racism. The purpose for this broadcast is to improve non-white people's problem-solving abilities and to fine-tune how black people think, speak, act and manage emotions while on the job. Any listeners who've unearthed the ultimate strategy to reduce conflict with White and/or non-white co-workers, avoid demotions, write-ups, terminations or other abuse we experience under Racist labor conditions should be first to dial in with particulars. We always welcome the experiences of "black entrepreneurs;" please, share with us how being "self-employed" alters your contact with Whites on the job. We'll hear counter-racist suggestions from listeners as well as individual reflections from your own work environment. Gus encourages Victims of Racism to write down vital workplace events. Documenting your thoughts and workplace occurrences is more dependable than memory, and the act of documenting can clarify your thinking. We'll also ask that non-white listeners share important segments of the policy and procedure from your current place of employment. #AnswersForMiriamCarey INVEST in The COWS - http://paypal.me/GusTRenegade CALL IN NUMBER: 641.715.3640 CODE 564943# The C.O.W.S. archives: http://tiny.cc/76f6p
The COWS w/ Pam (The Interracial Con Game)
Pam returns to The Context of White Supremacy. The founder of Trojan Horse Publications, Pam has been one of C.O.W.S.'s listeners' favorite guests. She co-authored phenomenal counter-racist literature including, Black Love Is A Revolutionary Act and The Interracial Con Game. Pam also operates the RacismWS.com website. She last spoke with us the day after the unsettlging November presidential election results. We anticipate hearing her assessment of the first four months of Trump's tenure in the White House. We'll ask Pam for suggestions on how she manages her own self care while besieged with the strain of White Supremacy. We're also eager to ask for her thoughts on the bounty of new television programs and films that explicitly discuss Racism. Charles Barkley and W. Kamau Bell have new primetime television segments, the film Get Out continues to draw attention, and Dear White People has become a television program. #AnswersForMiriamCarey INVEST in The COWS - http://paypal.me/GusTRenegade CALL IN NUMBER: 641.715.3640 CODE 564943# The C.O.W.S. archives: http://tiny.cc/76f6p
The C.O.W.S. Global Sunday Talk On Racism 05/21/17
The Context of White Supremacy hosts our monthly Global Sunday Talk On Racism. This broadcast is specifically engineered to encourage participation from Victims of Racism outside the United States and/or non-white people who are not able to participate during our usual program time. We'll discuss the French presidential election, where Marine La Pen, widely accused of being Racist, was defeated. We'll also review Canadian journalist Desmond Cole, who resigned from the Toronto Star newspaper after White editors admonished him for his activist work against Racism. We'll ask our international listeners to share how US politics are being discussed in their part of the world. President Obama received a noteworthy level of admiration in the international press during his eight years in office. Coverage seems notably different with President Trump. We'll also see if our international listeners have a code for requesting increased compensation from their place of employment. #AnswersForMiriamCarey INVEST in The COWS - http://paypal.me/GusTRenegade CALL IN NUMBER: 641.715.3640 CODE: 564943# The C.O.W.S. archives: http://tiny.cc/76f6p

#ANTIBLACKNESS Providing a historic illustration of White victimhood, President Donald J. Trump claimed to the be the target of a "witch hunt" after gorwing accusations of wrongdoing. Speaking of allegations, former entertainer Bill Cosby gave a rare public interview and asserted that Racism motivated charges of sexual harassment against him. This "OJ Simpson" moment calls to mind the numerous times Cosby admonished Black people for blaming their troubles on whitefolks. Texas A&M's Dr. Tommy Curry hasn't been persecuted like Cosby, but the author and professor has been subjected to racial terrorism and threatened with lynching as a result of his 2012 review of the film Django Unchained. Betty Shelby, the White Race Soldier who killed unarmed black male Terence Crutcher in the summer of 2016, was exonerated of any wrongdoing. As of Friday, May 19th, she's still employed with the police department. And Richard Spencer, media darling and vanguard of the so called "alt-right," lead torch-wielding Whites in protest of the removal of confederate monuments in Virginia. #AnswersForMiriamCarey INVEST in The COWS - http://paypal.me/GusTRenegade CALL IN NUMBER: 641.715.3640 CODE 564943# The C.O.W.S. archives: http://tiny.cc/76f6p
The C.O.W.S. Coretta Scott King: MY LIFE, MY LOVE, MY LEGACY PART 8
The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 8th study session on the 2017 autobiography of the late Coretta Scott King, My Life, My Love, My Legacy. Mrs. King died in January 2006. Before her transition, the civil rights icon discussed her life with acclaimed journalist, Rev. Dr. Barbara Reynolds. The New Orleans Tribune encourages everyone to read this book, calling it a timely read for the current climate of hostility and "emboldened" White Supremacy. Last week's session detailed Mrs. King being deceived by White politicians like George McGovern and former president Richard Nixon. Recognizing the political clout the civil rights icon had with many whites and a number of black people, politicians hoped for PR opportunities and the possibility of obtaining Mrs. King's endorsement. She also discussed her tremendous appreciation for former president Jimmy Carter - a fellow Georgian who often invoked the name of Dr. King. Mrs. King heavily chided black people for failing to support Carter's bid for re-election in 1980; he was trounced by Ronald Reagan. During the final portion of the text, Mrs. King describes her own considerable record of activism, including her labor to combat apartheid in South Africa. We'll compare this text to other autobiographies covered on the book club - Maya Angelou, Assata Shakur, Malcolm X. #AnswersForMiriamCarey INVEST in The COWS - http://paypal.me/GusTRenegade CALL IN NUMBER: 641.715.3640 CODE 564943#

The C.O.W.S. Coretta Scott King: MY LIFE, MY LOVE, MY LEGACY Part 7
The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 7th study session on the 2017 autobiography of the late Coretta Scott King, My Life, My Love, My Legacy. It's been over a decade years since Mrs. King passed away in early 2006. Before her death, the civil rights icon documented her life with legendary journalist, Rev. Dr. Barbara Reynolds. The New Orleans Tribune advises everyone to read this book, calling it a timely read for the current climate of malice and "emboldened" White Supremacy. Last week's session chronicled Mrs. King vigorous campaign to construct the King Center in honor of her slain husband. Demonstrating phenomenal black self respect, she advocated to make sure that a substantial number of black contractors were hired in constructing the center. Mrs. King detailed how Southern Christian Leadership Conference members opposed at her effort to build the center because they felt it siphoned funds from other civil rights organizations. She also described being flattered and amazed at the "love" she experienced while visiting "white European countries!" Tragically, the book also details the murder of Dr. King's mother and the suspicious death of his brother, AD; the deaths suggest the entire King family may have been under direct white supremacist attack. We'll use these sessions to hone our use of words as tools to reveal truth, neutralize White people. We'll examine news reports from the past seven days and - hopefully - promote a constructive dialog. #ANTIBLACKNESS Two years after South Carolina enforcement official Michael Slager shot unarmed Walter Scott to death, the former officer plead guilty in federal court. Like fellow South Carolina native Dylann Roof, Slager remain behind bars for the rest of his life. While one Race Soldier may be criminally prosecuted for terrorizing with a badge, the officers who killed Alton Sterling during the summer of 2016 will not be criminally charged. There were a myriad of responses to the decision in Louisiana, including Louisiana State University's announcement that their student athletes should not wear school paraphernalia if they choose protest or publicly address the non-indictment. Days after whites mandated the recognition of the 1992 Los Angeles Riots, many across the country drew made paralells to Jordan Edwards - an unarmed 15-year-old black boy killed by enforcement officers in Texas. Like the beating of Rodney King, there's video footage of Edwards' final minutes of life. As of Friday, a murder warrant was issued for the arrest of Roy Oliver, the Race Solider who killed Edwards. The C.O.W.S. MY LIFE, MY LOVE, MY LEGACY Part 6
The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 6th study session on Coretta Scott King's 2017 autobiography, My Life, My Love, My Legacy. It's been eleven years since Mrs. King's death. Before her transition, the civil rights icon collaborated with acclaimed journalist, Rev. Dr. Barbara Reynolds. The New Orleans Tribune recommends that everyone read this book, describing it as a timely read for the current climate of aggressive and "emboldened" White Supremacy. Last week's session chronicled the Dr. King's Chicago campaign for improved housing and public service for black residents of the "Windy City." Mrs. King describes the abysmal conditions of their shabby apartment, which was a better property than what most black Chicagoans were offered. Mrs. King also documented the unabashed terrorism they were subjected to by northern Whites. Last weeks segment also detailed the April 4th 1968 assassination of Dr. King. Mrs. King provides an unflinching description of her young children finding out that their father had been killed. Harry Belafonte, Andrew Young and others offered generous support and encouragement to the King family. Former Attorney General Bobby Kennedy, who authorized COINTELPRO surveillance of Dr. King, delivered extra phone lines to the King house to help Mrs. King handle the extraordinary volume of calls. Whites made time for documentaries, articles, retrospectives and commentary on the lawless negro chaos that followed the acquittal of four Race Soldiers who bludgeoned Rodney King, who died in 2012. Many submit that the Los Angeles Police Department has improved dramatically over the last 25 years. This is also the second anniversary of Freddie Gray's 2015 death and the subsequent unrest in Baltimore, Maryland. The C.O.W.S. MY LIFE, MY LOVE, MY LEGACY Part 5
The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 5th study session on the 2017 autobiography of the late Coretta Scott King, My Life, My Love, My Legacy. It's been more than a decade since Mrs. King passed away. Before her death, the civil rights veteran collaborated with veteran journalist, Rev. Dr. Barbara Reynolds. The New Orleans Tribune praised the autobiography, calling it a timely read for the current climate of flagrant hostility and "emboldened" White Supremacy. Last week's session chronicled the historic 1963 March on Washington D.C. Mrs. King shared her thoughts on females being ostracized at event and missing out on the chance to meet President John F. Kennedy. Deviating from chronological order, the book transitions from the August march to the November assassination of President Kennedy. Although previously mentioned in the text, the book does not discuss the September bombing of the Birmingham, Alabama church that killed four black girls as a bitter reprisal for Dr. King's "I Have A Dream Speech." Mrs. King exudes tremendous sorrow over Kennedy's death, describing him as 20th century White Jesus and a "friend" to the movement. Similar White Identification is on display when she mourns the loss of the two White Men killed along with James Chaney in 1964 as well Viola Liuzzo, a White woman killed in 1965. Mrs. King also notes that she and Dr. King underestimated the power and danger of J. Edgar Hoover, the FBI and the COINTELPRO operation targeting the black freedom fighters like she and her husband. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 4th study session on the 2017 autobiography of the late Coretta Scott King, My Life, My Love, My Legacy. Mrs. King passed away at the beginning of 2006. Before her death, the civil rights veteran collaborated with acclaimed journalist, Rev. Dr. Barbara Reynolds. The New Orleans Tribune praised the autobiography, calling it an appropriate read for the current climate of explicit animosity and "emboldened" White Supremacy. Last week's session chronicled the international attention heaped on she and Dr. King following their successful bus boycott in Montgomery. Globetrotting to see black people in positions of power as well as the "anti-colonial" campaigns on the continent and India greatly impacted Mrs. King and the myriad of other African Americans who traveled abroad. Mrs. King also explained the daily terror of wondering if her husband would be killed or maimed while being held caged in White southern jails. These fears explain the immense gratitude the King family felt towards John F. Kennedy who helped get Dr. King released from confinement in 1960. Mrs. King and many others think this was a watershed moment when black people abandoned the Republican party. Mrs. King also explained her efforts to balance being a mother, a wife, a civil rights activist and a professional. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 3rd study session on the 2017 autobiography of the late Coretta Scott King, My Life, My Love, My Legacy. It's been 11 years since Mrs. King passed away. Before her death the civil rights veteran collaborated with acclaimed journalist, Rev. Dr. Barbara Reynolds. The New Orleans Tribune highly recommended the autobiography, calling it an appropriate read for the current climate of open hostility and "emboldened" White Supremacy. Last week's installment covered the 1956 terrorist bombing of the King residence after Dr. King took control of the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Mrs. King had only been married to Dr. King for a short period of time when they were terrorized, and they had a 10-week old daughter at the time of the attack. Mrs. King describes refusing her parents' request that they flee Alabama. Listeners emphasized that the text omitted that some black people around King were armed to protect black lives. The book also articulated Mrs. King's fears when Dr. King was first arrested. She knew that Racists could easily kill her husband. The text also includes detailed history on Mrs. and Dr. King's parents - including Dr. King's father being stripped nude as a child and whipped by a White man. We'll compare this book to some of the other biographies we've read on the book club - Maya Angelou, Assata Shakur, Malcolm X. #AnswersForMiriamCarey INVEST in The COWS - http://paypal.me/GusTRenegade CALL IN NUMBER: 641.715.3640 CODE 564943#
The C.O.W.S. Workplace Racism 04/13/17
The Context of White Supremacy hosts our Thursday weekly forum on Workplace Racism. The reason for this segment is to strengthen non-white people's problem-solving skills and to refine how black people think, speak, act and control emotions while at work. Any listeners who've pieced together the best method to minimize conflict with White and/or non-white co-workers, avoid demotions, write-ups, terminations or other racial hostility we experience under Racist labor conditions should be first to call in and share details. We always welcome the experiences of Black "entrepreneurs;" please, let us know how being "self employed" transforms your contact with Whites on the job. We'll hear counter-racist strategies from listeners as well as individual reflections from your own work environment. Gus encourages victims of racism to record your workplace experiences. Documenting your thoughts and workplace incidents is more reliable than memory, and the act of writing can help clarify your thinking. We'll also request that non-white listeners share critical segments of the policy and procedure from your current place of employment. #AnswersForMiriamCarey INVEST in The COWS - http://paypal.me/GusTRenegade CALL IN NUMBER: 641.715.3640 CODE 564943# The C.O.W.S. archives: http://tiny.cc/76f6p
The C.O.W.S. Compensatory Call-In 04/08/17
The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly Compensatory Call-In. #ANTIBLACKNESS It's reported the U.S. military launched a missile assault on Syria this week, which will likely produce immense harm for non-white people. Many observers characterize this attack as signifncant deviation from President Donald J. Trump's campaign promises about abstaining from international military adventures. Speaking of domestic terrorism, the Trump administration announced they would review the Department of Justice's meddling into local police departments charged with bogarting Black citizens. Atlanta, Georgia continues to suffer after a devastating interstate fire late last week. A black male is accused of being a homeless crack addict who caused the wreckage by setting fire to a chair and a shopping cart. #AnswersForMiriamCarey INVEST in The COWS - http://paypal.me/GusTRenegade CALL IN NUMBER: 641.715.3640 CODE 564943# The C.O.W.S. archives: http://tiny.cc/76f6p
The C.O.W.S. MY LIFE, MY LOVE, MY LEGACY Part 2
The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 2nd study session on the 2017 autobiography of the late Coretta Scott King, My Life, My Love, My Legacy. Mrs. King, who died in 2006, told her story to acclaimed journalist, Rev. Dr. Barbara Reynolds. The New Orleans Tribune highly recommended the new book, characterizing it a perfect read for the current climate of open hostility and "emboldened" White Supremacy. Last week's segment detailed the generations of terror Mrs. King and her Alabama family were subjected to. Racists burned down here house when she was 15, her great-uncle was lynched after being suspected of dating a White woman, and her father's sawmill was burned down when he refused to sell to a White man. Mrs. King provides ample detail of the love and black self respect her parents, Obadiah Scott and Bernice McMurry Scott, provided her. Mrs. Scott left Alabama to attend Antioch College in Ohio - the late Dr. Frances Cress Welsing attended the same school. Mrs. Scott describes the hardships of "dating" a White boy and the value she ascribed to having White roommates and making White friends. Even with all of this new found White validation and acceptance, Racist White educators would not allow Mrs. King to complete her course work by training in the Ohio public schools. Just like Dr. Welsing, Mrs. King recalled the White president of Antioch having a dog named "nigger." We'll compare this text to some of the other biographies we've covered on the book club - Maya Angelou, Assata Shakur, Malcolm X. #AnswersForMiriamCarey INVEST in The COWS - http://paypal.me/GusTRenegade CALL IN NUMBER: 641.715.3640 CODE 564943#
