The C.O.W.S. Ralph Ellison's Invisible Man Part 8

The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 8th study session on Ralph Ellison's 1952 gem, Invisible Man. Gus T's all-time favorite book, Ellison's exemplary novel was selected for the 1953 National Book Award and has been studied and celebrated around the world for 75 years. The book chronicles an unnamed black male as he slogs through the turmoil and terrorism of White Supremacy (Racism). Last week's session covered the eviction of an elderly black couple by a White police officer. The main character attempts to calm the gathering black crowd, but they eventually stampeded him on the way to brutalizing the White policeman. Reinforcements quell the ensuing "riot," but a White organization named the Brotherhood appreciates the protagonist's speech-making, and hope to acquire his services. Working with the Brotherhood pays well, but requires the man character to vacate Ms. Mary's rooming house and to sever ties with his friends and family. This week marks one year since the catastrophic Grenfell Tower fire killed dozens of mostly non-white people. The newly launched inquiry investigates the cause of the deadly fire, while reports admit little has improved over the past dozen months to prevent such a traumatic loss of life from happening again. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the seventh study session on Ralph Ellison's 1952 classic, Invisible Man. Gus T's all-time favorite book, Ellison's extraordinary novel was selected for the 1953 National Book Award and has been reviewed and praised internationally for 75 years. The narrative follows an unnamed black male as he slogs through the turmoil and terrorism of White Supremacy (Racism). Last week's session saw the main character being subjected to medical butchers, who experimented on him after he was knocked unconscious by an explosion in the paint factory. The White doctors subject him painful electrical shocks in order to change him a "new man." This unnamed new man staggers away from the factory jobless, and luckily meets a black female who's willing to nurse him back to health. Ms. Mary reminds the protagonist of his own family and Southern roots that he's left behind to chase a college education and New York fantasies. The LGBT wing of the White Supremacist raged at the response and immediately contrasted the decision to the systematic and centuries long terrorism against black people. White California voters successfully recalled Judge Aaron Pesky, the White official who delivered a scant sentence to a White Stanford student convicted of sexually assaulting an unconscious White Woman. For centuries, White judges in black robes delivered racist decisions that eviscerated the lives of black people. Few if any were recalled. Whites also invested a sizable amount of time recounting the life and 1968 assassination of Robert F. Kennedy; he's regularly referenced as a "good White man" who was definitely not Racist. We'll examine news reports from the past seven days and - hopefully - promote a constructive dialog. #ANTIBLACKNESS Roseanne Barr, a Suspected Race Soldier and television and entertainment icon, used social media to racially assault President Barack Obama's senior advisor, Valerie Jarrett, comparing her to a monkey from the infamous Planet Of The Apes anthology. Following her racist outburst, ABC canceled Barr's eponymous sitcom, which was one of the network's most beloved series and, ironically, depicted a White family with a pro-Trump matriarch who conducts surveillance on her "Muslim" neighbors. Speaking of work stoppage, Starbucks barricaded more than 8,000 coffee shops in the U.S. to devote a few hours to racial bias training. It's uncertain if the effort will have any impact on how black patrons or even black baristas are treated. Demonstrating the global contempt for non-white life, a Harvard study concluded there were nearly 5,000 deaths in Puerto Rico as a result of Hurricane Maria. This is an astronomically higher toll than what was originally reported. The number of black people murdered during the 1921 "Tulsa Race Riots" was also not accurately reported. One of Gus's top five all-time books, Ellison's novel was selected for the 1953 National Book Award and has been circulated and celebrated globally for almost 75 years. Invisible Man recounts an unnamed black male's odyssey through the confusion of White Supremacy (Racism). Last week's segment detailed the narrator's terror after having so much trouble chauffeuring Mr. Norton, a White Man. Before learning his fate from Dr. Bledsoe, the black president of the college, the narrator is ordered to attend a campus sermon by the Rev. Homer A. Barbee. Rev. Barbee explains the origins of the school and how the black Founder of the college invested his spirit in constructing an academy for the betterment of black people. After blind Rev. Barbee's dramatic rendition of school lore, the main character feels a suffocating sense of guilt for in anyway jeopardizing the school. The C.O.W.S. Reneathia Tate: Interracial Relationships Are SADD

The Context of White Supremacy welcomes the return of Reneathia Tate. Author of Pieces of a Puzzle, Ms. Tate uses counter-racist logic to assess the devastating consequences of non-white people engaging in sexual activity with Whites. Ms. Tate's book is a collection interviews with non-white females who engaged in sexual activity with White men. The kickoff was met with huge Palestinian protests where more than 60 non-white were killed. For millions around the world, the conflict in the "Middle East" is significantly less important than the "royal wedding" between Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. This high profile Tragic Arrangement spotlights the incorrectness and tackiness that predictably follows so-called interracial relationships. Meanwhile, a black mother in upstate New York was driven off the road, called racial epithets and violently terrorized by a White gang. The mother's son was also in the vehicle at the time, and so far, none of the Race Soldiers have been arrested. The late Dr. Frances Cress Welsing theorized that this sort of White Terrorism is motivated by individuals classified as White being angered about being less then 10 percent of the global population. Corroborating her genius, new reports indicate U.S. birth rates have fallen to a record low for the second consecutive year. One of Gus's top five all-time works of writing, Ellison's classic was selected for the 1953 National Book Award and has been revered around the world for nearly 75 years. Invisible Man chronicles a nameless black male struggling through the confusion of White Supremacy (Racism). Last week's installment followed our narrator as he chauffeured a White man around a black college campus. Unfortunately, the two drive near residence of a poor black farmer named Jim Trueblood. In a lengthy and dramatic narrative, Trueblood titilates the White man with the story of how he raped his own black daughter. After consuming every syllable of Trueblood's sexual deviance, the White man becomes peaked and is taken to the Golden Day to have a rest. There, a black World War I veteran speaks directly about the System of White Supremacy and the White Man, Mr. Norton's role in that System. Anna-Brown Griswold, MA, LMHC visits The Context of White Supremacy. A psychotherapist and facilitator in Seattle, Mrs. Griswold has been practicing and studying the dharma for decades and uses her practice for "awakenings and social justice." Early this year, Mrs. Griswold hosted a month and a half series titled: "Unpacking Whiteness." The course was intended for people who identify as white to do work around "waking up to racism." After becoming a flood victim, Gus T. began investing more in his mental and physical health. To compensate for the distress of housing dislocation, he returned to a vegan diet and resumed a daily yoga practice. Speaking of predators, Travis Reinking, a White man, murdered four non-white people at a Tennessee Waffle House. He was eventually arrested and charged with murder. Mr. Reinking had a history of terroristic behavior; in 2017, he illegally crossed a White House security barrier and was taken into custody. Unlike Miriam I. Carey, a black mother who was shot and killed near the White House in 2013, enforcement officials did not deem Reinking a lethal threat last year. In the state of Alabama, where J. Marion Sims still has a statue, Bryan Stevenson and fellow organizers constructed "the country's first site dedicated to the legacy of black people lynched in the United States." Gus found it curious that Starbucks didn't institute "racial bias" training for their employees in 2015 when they attracted national attention and scorn for their campaign to encourage dialog between customers and baristas about Racism. Speaking of brute White force, a black 14-year-old Michigan teen was nearly killed by a White man for missing the school bus. Brennan Walker knocked on retired firefighter Jeffrey Ziegler's door in hopes of getting directions to his school. Ziegler's wife allegedly accused the black teen of breaking into the house, and the former fireman grabbed a shotgun and began shooting at Walker. The teen was uninjured, and Ziegler was arrested and charged with attempted murder. In other court news, disgraced entertainment legend Bill Cosby began his retrial facing charges of sexual misconduct. The Context of White Supremacy Satya X. A former New York City dweller, Satya X felt "drained by racist ideology hovering over US culture." She traded in her high heels for sandals and expatriated to Costa Rica, where her pan-afriakn beliefs and spiritual journey blossomed. She founded Women of Color Healing Retreats so that black females around the world could experience the spiritual nourishment that frequently eludes black people. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the fourth study session on Angie Thomas's chart-topping young adult novel, The Hate U Give. Reportedly penned in response to the 2009 police killing of Oscar Grant, Thomas's work "debuted at the top of The New York Timesâ??s Young Adult best-seller list, and has drawn ecstatic praise from critics, librarians, book sellers and prominent young-adult novelists," says The Times's Alexandra Alter. Dr. Robert Jensen returns to The Context of White Supremacy. A Suspected Racist and the author of The Heart of Whiteness, Dr. Jensen is a professor at the University of Texas Austin. Last week, suspected "White Identity Extremist" Mark Anthony Conditt allegedly self-terminated during a standoff with enforcement officials. Conditt is suspected of orchestrating a terrorist campaign in the town of Austin. A series of package bombs were delivered throughout the region, killing two black males and severely injuring four others. We'll ask Dr. Jensen if this surge of flagrant White violence will be stoked and expanded during the Trump presidency. Mark Anthony Conditt, a 24-year-old White Man, allegedly blew himself up during a confrontation with enforcement officials. Conditt's motives for the homicidal attacks have not been officially identified, although the suspected White Identity Extremist reportedly authored a confession. Numerous news outlets and enforcement officials have declined to identify Conduit as a terrorist; some have gone to great length to explain their word choice. South of the equator in Brazil, the assassination of Marielle Franco remains another unsolved act of White Terrorism. Many believe Franco's outspoken critique of police cruelty and Racism lead to her murder. Speaking of Race Soldiers, Samuel DuBose's killer, Ohio officer Ray Tensing, received more than $300,000 from the University of Cincinnati.
