One of the most critically acclaimed directors of all time, Woody Allen is a New York City and entertainment icon. In addition to his flicks, he's written books, Apropos of Nothing being his most recent. Published in 2020, the text examines his life and "romance" with Soon-Yi Previn. In addition to being non-white and decades younger than Allen, Previn was Allen's stepchild. Despite a damning Child Protective Services investigation and years of allegations of child rape and sexual abuse of children, Allen remains beloved my hoards of Whites. We examine this work for what it reveals about White culture. Last week's opening session saw Allen recount his youth as a competent baseball player and his love of girls at school. State Attorney General Letitia James, a black female, announced the findings, which were followed by President Joe Biden and many others demanding the governor’s resignation. Cuomo says he has more governing to do. Speaking of dastardly conduct, Missouri’s Derontae Martin, a 19-year-old black boy, died under suspicious circumstances, but was ruled a suicide victim. This week a court rejected the idea of Martin dying from self-inflicted injury, and turned suspicion to Martin’s “White friends” who were with him at the time of his death. In the U.S., the eviction moratorium, enacted to keep people from being tossed into the street amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, was allowed to expire this week. Like many whippersnappers, he did grasp the danger of his situation. 7 months later, his housemates have ditched safety protocols, hosted strangers, and contracted an illness that may be Covid-19. This broadcast is intended to encourage participation from non-white people in different parts of the world and Victims of Racism who are not able to join during the normal broadcast time. In Europe, English fans cheered the ball club all the way to the Euro Cup football championship game. The sportsmanship and British good cheer was trashed once the team lost and White Supremacists assigned blame to three black players for missing penalty kicks. White ball games were quickly forgotten when the historic flood struck Germany, leaving dozens dead. In Cuba and South African, non-white protests have disrupted both respective countries. On the Spanish speaking island, Cubans have railed against food shortages and power outages and Covid-19 infections. Internet access was briefly restricted to help quell disturbances this week. In South Africa, former President Jacob Zuma turned himself in to faces charges of corruption during his time in office. The book club just concluded Geronimo Pratt's biography, which examines how the very same LAPD and Los Angeles district attorney's office conspired to keep an innocent black male caged for 25 years - where he could have easily been killed. Importantly, the former Black Panther and COINTELPRO victim Pratt was Shakur's godparent. Last week Sullivan explicitly demonstrated his disdain for black people and, likely, his dedication to White Supremacy by describing Christopher Wallace as a character out of a "minstrel show." The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Brian S. Bentley. A former LAPD officer, Mr. Bentley worked as an enforcement officer during the turbulent 1990's. He's written books about his experience and done multitudes of interviews over the years. The C.O.W.S. Book Club began our study of 1990's Los Angeles with the study of O.J. Simpson's 1995 double murder trial. Perhaps the most important trial in the history of U.S. jurisprudence, led us to examine the wrongful conviction of Geronimo Pratt, who sat in a California prison for more than 25 years. Johnnie L. Cochran Jr. worked the defense for both Simpson and Pratt, and earned a heap of scorn from Whites around the world. During the midst of all of this, formed LAPD officer Brian S. Bentley protected and served the citizens of Los Angeles. We'll discuss how the beating of Rodney King and the subsequent riots as well as the Mark Fuhrman tapes impacted police conduct and training. We'll also discuss the explosive revelations that followed Simpson acquittal, including the killing of black LAPD offcer Kevin Gaines by White officer Frank Lyga. Bentley reports that he worked with Gaines and rejects the "official" position that Gaines was a gang-banging, rogue cop who should have been killed. Importantly, Gaines was murdered 9 days after the execution of entertainer Christopher Wallace (Notorious B.I.G.) and two months after the murder of Ennis Cosby. The magazine also credits Olsen with writing one of the best biographies on boxing icon and attempted counter-racist Muhammad Ali. Last week, Cochran thrashed Julius Butler on the stand during the 1996 hearing. The Victim of White Supremacy and FBI/LAPD informant started off polished and professorial, but got flustered and became foul-mouthed after Cochran's questioning. Butler provided one answer that resulted in even Judge Dickey wondering if the prosecution had provided specific answers they wanted the witness to repeat. It appears that four of the victims may have been classified as non-white. Reports indicate that the White killer, who worked with the VTA for nearly a decade, allegedly told others that he "hated" work, and it seems he may have targeted specific coworkers. Dr. Bliss describes how this trauma is personal to her family, where members were displaced with the construction of highways in Michigan. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 11th study session on Jack Olsen's Last Man Standing: The Tragedy and Triumph of Geronimo Pratt. Olsen is a White man, and a prolific author. He wrote for Sport Illustrated during the turbulent 1960's, and penned a celebrated series examining black athletes and Racism. The magazine also credits Olsen with writing one of the best biographies on boxing icon and attempted counter-racist Muhammad Ali. Last week, Olsen detailed the CBS "60 Minutes" interview of Pratt. The piece aired in 1987, and seemed like it was probably edited by FBI enforcement officials. Pratt's White female prison counselor (L. Atkinson), continued to advocate for Pratt against her fellow co-workers wishes. Flexing her White might, Atkinson sued the Department of Corrections for $100,000 for workplace abuse, ditched the penitentiary and became pen-pals with Nelson Mandela. Before exiting, she severely admonished Pratt for not holding a grudge against Huey P. Newton. The White woman called Newton a "dickhead" and chided Pratt to recognize his "enemies." Newton was shot and killed shortly after being released from prison.
