This new divide may be permanent for some, as a number of powerful workers will be allowed to continue to remain at home for all or a substantial portion of their work week. C.O.W.S.'s listeners have reported this exact dynamic - their White supervisors have "Zoomed" in their pajamas, offering remote (often, useless) managerial support. He wrote for Sport Illustrated during the turbulent 1960's, and penned a celebrated series examining black athletes and Racism. The magazine also credits Olsen with writing one of the best biographies on boxing icon and attempted counter-racist Muhammad Ali. Last week, Olsen detailed Pratt's frustration with being caged while his wife Ashaki struggled to parent two children by herself. Pratt's hopes were repeatedly dashed when White judges rejected his appeals for a new trial. Their dismissals generally included insistence the Julius Butler was not an FBI informant, and that Pratt had received a "fair" (although not perfect) trial. Of the 11 fatalities, 5 were black children. Speaking of killing black people, the FDA announced a move to prohibit menthol in cigarettes and tobacco products. White Supremacists have deliberated poisoned/targeted black people with menthol cigarettes - which are reportedly highly addictive. He wrote for Sport Illustrated during the turbulent 1960's, and penned a celebrated series examining black athletes and Racism. The magazine also credits Olsen with writing one of the best biographies on boxing icon and attempted counter-racist Muhammad Ali. Last week, Olsen described a minor victory for the Pratt team when the Vietnam veteran was released from years of solitary confinement and allowed to return to general population. Pratt detailed being astonished to have a toilet as well as access to plates, utensils, and entrees other than sliced bread and gruel. Apparently, many of the younger non-white inmates held Pratt in high regard and invested their time improving his living quarters and preparing him special meals. Unfortunately, the wins were minuscule. Pratt was denied a new hearing by Judge Kathleen Parker and was left to face the prospect of being caged for life. Johnnie L. Cochran Jr., while working for the LA District Attorney's office (the same division he would later trounce during the O.J. Simpson trial), announced to his White colleagues that Pratt was an innocent man. The jury convicted Chauvin on all counts, and he'll be sentenced later this year. While many labeled this a watershed moment in stopping police terrorism against black people. There were a number of black people killed by police during the waning days of the trial. As Chauvin's jury deliberated, Daunte Wright was executed by a White female officer in Minnesota. In Columbus, Ohio 16-year-old Ma'Khia Bryant was killed by enforcement officials. In Florida, Governor Ron DeSantis helped usher in new laws that add draconian punishments for public protests. And contrary to theories that black male rappers marinate in their riches and fame, in the last 10 days, former hip-hop icons DMX (Earl Simmons), Shock G (Gregory Edward Jacobs), and Black Rob (Robert Ross) all died. Additionally, Gus strongly recommends that non-white people seriously consider requesting a presentation on workplace safety and protocols for a violent event. Things got so bad, fellow inmates like Charles Manson and members of the Aryan Brotherhood alerted Pratt to threats on his life. The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Charles “Chip” Jones. A Pulitzer-Prize-nominated journalist and author, Jones is a White man who’s worked and written about the Commonwealth of Virginia for a number of years. We’ll discuss his more recent text, The Organ Thieves: The Shocking Story of the First Heart Transplant in the Segregated South. The book describes how a black male, Bruce Tucker, died under peculiar circumstances in 1968. As opposed to having his family notified, so they could comfort Mr. Tucker in his final moments, no one was contacted until Tucker was deceased and his heart stolen. The heart was later “found” inside a White man as the state bragged about the first successful heart transplant in the region. We’ll place this in the context of the “coonman” Governor Ralph Northam, who graduated medical school in Virginia, and the current Covid-19 health crisis. Last week's massacre in Colorado (10 casualties) and the seemingly "ancient" slaughter in Atlanta, Georgia (8 casualties) were eclipsed by fresh butcherings. A gunman opened fired in Orange County, Southern California (4 fatalities). A 9-year-old was among the victims. In Washington D.C., a black male, Noah Green, is reported to have rammed a security barricade near the White House. He allegedly killed a Capitol Security officer and lunged at an official with a knife. Gus encourages that this incident - like all others - be careful scrutinized as many inaccuracies were reported in the 2013 killing of Miriam I. Downtown Seattle has a reputation for all manner of hooliganism, thuggery, and drug trafficking. Last week in Georgia, Robert Aaron Long killed 8 (6 asian/non-white females). This week, 21-year-old Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa killed 10 people at a Colorado shopping store. The incidents prompted a fresh round of yammering about gun laws and reminders of the many White terrorists who've selected Colorado as their killing field over the years (Columbine 1999, Aurora 2012). A NPR reported noted that black people have suffered most from the increase in mass shootings since the beginning of the Covid-19 crisis. In Virginia, Governor Ralph "Coonman" Northam made history abolishing the 400 year history of the death penalty in the commonwealth. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly forum on Neutralizing Workplace Racism. Federal unemployment numbers suggest the lowest unemployment applications since the Covid-19 pandemic began. However, this does not signal the end of the economic catastrophe and workplace disruption associated with the pandemic. Last week we discussed a black male delivery driver who was terrorized by an off-duty White enforcement official, Pierce County Sheriff Ed Troyer, in Washington state. Sheriff Troyer is being investigated, but these type of incidents are a daily occurrence because of White Supremacy. He stopped to view The Seattle Times, and noted the cover story featured a black male, being terrorized while delivering papers. 24-year-old Sedrick Altheimer was accosted by an off-duty White man, Pierce County Sheriff Ed Troyer, while delivering papers earlier this year. To make matters worse, the white officer lied and told dispatchers that Altheimer threatened to kill him. In the 12 months since the coronavirus strangled the planet, there have been a plethora of incidents where black drivers have been threatened, attacked and detained by random White citizens. It is imperative that any non-white people who work as delivery drivers create a high-quality code to neutralize these sort of violent encounters. Pratt, a black male, is described as having a "hybrid," "Eurasian," or "Byzantine" complexion, while his scalp produces "white man's hair." Hanlon, the White attorney, brags about his "Jewfro." Cochran explains to his White co-council that the evidence supports the complete innocence of his client, but Pratt was still convicted and restricted to years of solitary confinement. Hanlon begins to learn about Pratt's upbringing in mid 20th century Louisiana - much like Cochran. Pratt describes his mother Eunice's light complexion and non-black heritage - like her "blue-eyed Irish grandmother." He also shares definitive moments of his childhood: Witnessing the Klu Klux Klan brutalize his brother and being arrested after a teenage White girl reported he and his friend for saying "hi" to her. Toobin also pops up in the ESPN documentary: Made In America - which is intense White Supremacy propaganda. Toobin compiled more than a quarter century of journalism, spawned from his coverage of the Simpson trial. Speaking of NFL thugs and criminal conduct, former Kansas City Chiefs assistant coach Britt Reid is accused of driving under the influence and hitting two parked cars. He injured several passenegers of the two vehicles - including a 5-year-old non-white girl. Ariel Young remains in a coma, while her 4-year old cousins recovers from a concussion and a broken nose.
