Last week we discussed a black male delivery driver who was terrorized by an off-duty White enforcement official, Pierce County Sheriff Ed Troyer, in Washington state. Sheriff Troyer is being investigated, but these type of incidents are a daily occurrence because of White Supremacy. This week in New York, a White Woman, Queens, New York's Stephanie Denaro, refused to wear mask and proceeded to verbally berate a black bakery worker. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 4th study session on Jack Olsen's Last Man Standing: The Tragedy and Triumph of Geronimo Pratt. Olsen is a White male, and a prolific author. Olsen wrote for Sport Illustrated during the 1960's, and penned a celebrated series examining black athletes and Racism. The magazine also credits Olsen with writing one of the best biographies on boxing icon and attempted counter-racist Muhammad Ali. Last week, the book detailed the numerous charges filed against Geronimo Pratt and other members of the Black Panther Party. Olsen explained how COINTELPRO antics kept Panther members squabbling with each other, and sometimes other black people. These disputes led to Pratt being expelled from the party and a prohibition against any members testifying on behalf of Pratt. This caused witnesses like Kathleen Cleaver, who could verify that Pratt was not in the same area code at the time of the so called tennis court murder, to remain silent. Pratt wondered if BPP co-founder Huey P. Newton's substance abuse problems contributed to his unpredictable and sometimes irrational thinking. He stopped to view The Seattle Times, and noted the cover story featured a black male, being terrorized while delivering papers. 24-year-old Sedrick Altheimer was accosted by an off-duty White man, Pierce County Sheriff Ed Troyer, while delivering papers earlier this year. To make matters worse, the white officer lied and told dispatchers that Altheimer threatened to kill him. In the 12 months since the coronavirus strangled the planet, there have been a plethora of incidents where black drivers have been threatened, attacked and detained by random White citizens. It is imperative that any non-white people who work as delivery drivers create a high-quality code to neutralize these sort of violent encounters. She disclosed that Prince Harry's family voiced consternation over the skin complexion of the children and discouraged her from seeking support for mental health. Since the interview, Piers Morgan resigned from his broadcast position after being accused of minimizing Markle's charges of Racism. In the states, attention is focused on Minnesota as jury selection begins for the trial of Derek Chauvin. Many reports emphasize that no White officer in the history of Minnesota has been convicted for killing a black person. Olsen employs a number of significant descriptors when depicting the physical appearance and phenotypical features of these males. Pratt, a black male, is described as having a "hybrid," "Eurasian," or "Byzantine" complexion, while his scalp produces "white man's hair." Hanlon, the White attorney, brags about his "Jewfro." Cochran explains to his White co-council that the evidence supports the complete innocence of his client, but Pratt was still convicted and restricted to years of solitary confinement. Hanlon begins to learn about Pratt's upbringing in mid 20th century Louisiana - much like Cochran. Pratt describes his mother Eunice's light complexion and non-black heritage - like her "blue-eyed Irish grandmother." He also shares definitive moments of his childhood: Witnessing the Klu Klux Klan brutalize his brother and being arrested after a teenage White girl reported he and his friend for saying "hi" to her. Pratt said he did not understand Racism as a child. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 14th and final study session on Jeffrey Toobin's The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson. This 1996 New York Times bestseller enjoyed 2 different waves of success. It was critically acclaimed during the initial mid-90's publication and enjoyed a second boon following the award-winning and widely adored 2016 FX miniseries - which is based on Toobin's work. Toobin also pops up in the ESPN documentary: Made In America - which is intense White Supremacy propaganda. Toobin compiled more than a quarter century of journalism, spawned from his coverage of the Simpson trial. He wrote beloved books on the Supreme Court and authored a scathing indictment of President Donald J. Trump. Things were triumphant until the year of the rona. While participating in a live Zoom conference with prominent White journalists, Toobin brandished his penis and began masturbating. He was initially suspended by the New Yorker. After an investigation, Toobin was terminated. We'll keep this in mind while reading his account of the most well documented, most watched court trial of all time. Last week's installment described the testimony of Robert Heidstra. Called by Simpson's defense, Heidstra testified to hearing a fracas around 10:30pm at Nicole Brown Simpson's residence. Although he did not see any of the speakers, Christopher Darden repeatedly asked Heidstra to specify the racial classification of the voices. Johnnie Cochran objected and charged Racism, while Heidstra emphatically denied being able to distinguish the racial identity of the voices. All of this became trivial after the discovery of audio tapes where detective Mark (GED) Fuhrman says nigger continuously and brags about manufacturing evidence and choking suspects. Importantly, Fuhrman returned to the stand and refused to answer any questions to prevent self-incrimination. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 8th study session on Jeffrey Toobin's The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson. This 1996 New York Times bestseller enjoyed two different waves of success. It was critically acclaimed during the initial mid-90's publication and enjoyed re-newed success following the critically acclaimed and widely adored 2016 FX miniseries - which is based on Toobin's work. Toobin compiled three glorious decades of journalism, spawned from his coverage of the Simpson trial. He wrote beloved books on the Supreme Court and authored a scathing indictment of President Donald J. Trump. Things were triumphant until the year of the rona.
