Del Wilkes, the pro wrestler who found fame as The Patriot...has died. Wilkes was an All-American football player at the University of South Carolina before finding his way into pro wrestling. His career took him to New Japan, WCW...and the WWF...where he quickly ascended to the main event in 1997 as a championship challenger to Bret Hart. Wilkes reportedly died after suffering a heart attack on Thursday. Del Wilkes was 59. (STINGER: WWE) We could get another entrant tonight for the men’s Money In The Bank ladder match. A qualifying match is set for tonight’s SmackDown: Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn in a Last Man Standing Match. WWE officially announced Thursday that it will bring SmackDown to New York’s Madison Square Garden on September 10th. Qualifying matches for the NXT Breakout Tournament will be held on tonight’s 205 Live: Guru Raaj vs. Andre Chase...and Desmond Troy vs. Joe Gacy. WWE announced a new class of international recruits for its Performance Center on Thursday. All three come from Asia. The identity of “Blair Davenport” was revealed on Thursday’s NXT UK. It is indeed the former Bea Priestley. Tyler Bate is still the Heritage Cup Champion. He beat Jack Starz. The first challenger for the new NXT UK Women’s Champ Meiko Satomura appears to be Amale...who ran over Nina Samuels to get face-to-face with Satomura in the ring. Satomura then put down Amale with a forearm. Jordan Devlin submitted A-Kid in the main event...and Emilia McKenzie pinned Isla Dawn. (STINGER: ROH) Shane Taylor Promotions will defend the Ring Of Honor 6-Man Titles at the Best In The World pay per view...against the team of Dalton Castle, Dak Draper and Eli Isom. This weekend’s ROH TV has Jonathan Gresham defending the Pure Title against Fred Yehi. Plus, the Fight On The Farm...between Jay and Mark Briscoe. (STINGER: Impact) Kenny Omega returned to Impact Wrestling last night. He teamed with the Good Brothers in the main event...to beat Tommy Dreamer’s team of Sami Callihan, Moose and Chris Sabin, who took the pin. Dreamer’s team was in disarray toward the end. Rachael Ellering pinned Tenille Dashwood. After the match, Dashwood and Kaleb With A K tried to attack Ellering and Jazz...but Jordynne Grace ran down to make the save...and then embraced Ellering. It appears they’ve mended fences...at least, for now. Chris Bey pinned Petey Williams with the Art Of Finesse. There was a melee after the match, which saw Bey side with Williams and the rest of the good guys. The advertised match between Satoshi Kojima and Eddie Edwards never happened. W. Morrissey revealed he jumped Edwards in the parking lot. So, instead we got Kojima and Jake Something vs. Brian Myers and Sam Beale. Kojima pinned Beale. (STINGER: New Japan) Tonight’s New Japan Strong...has Fred Rosser vs. Bateman. Plus, Lio Rush vs. Adrian Quest. Back in Japan, the final show of the Kizuna Road tour is being held Friday...with the NEVER 6-Man Titles on the line in the main event. It’s a free show on New Japan World. Round 7 of Major League Wrestling’s Open Draft on Thursday revealed that Matt Cross is joining the league under the Azteca Underground banner. Also added to next week’s show - Andrade El Idolo will make his AEW in-ring debut...against Matt Sydal...Inner Circle’s Jake Hager, Santana, & Ortiz face The Pinnacle’s Wardlow, Dax Harwood, & Cash Wheeler...Orange Cassidy & Kris Statlander vs. The Blade & The Bunny. MJF promised that next week he’ll announce the stipulation he wants for another match against Chris Jericho. MJF beat Sammy Guevara in last night’s main event. It was a chair shot from Shawn Spears that made the difference. Miro is still the TNT Champion...after Brian Pillman Jr. passed out while he was in the Game Over submission hold. Jungle Boy submitted Jack Evans with the Snare Trap. It’s Jungle Boy’s 50th win in AEW, the most in company history. After the match Jurassic Express and Christian Cage took out the Hardy Family Office. AEW Women’s Champ Dr. Britt Baker & Rebel beat Nyla Rose & Vickie Guerrero. Britt submitted Vickie with the Lockjaw. After the match. Rose powerbombed Baker through a table. Dark Order publicly confronted Kenny Omega and vouched for Hangman Page as the next challenger for the AEW Championship. Hangman wasn’t with them at the time. And later, he made it clear that he wasn’t too thrilled about Dark Order speaking on his behalf. Brian Cage will defend the FTW Title on Dynamite on July 14th...against Ricky Starks. Last night’s Dynamite was the last at Daily’s Place for a while. But AEW did announce they’ll return on August 4th. AEW will run three straight shows in Chicago in September. All Out on Sunday, September 5th will be preceded by episodes of Rampage and Dynamite in the same arena. (STINGER: New Japan) We have the first match announced for New Japan’s Resurgence show in Los Angeles on August 14th. It’ll be Jay White defending his NEVER Openweight Championship against David Finlay. Back in Japan, New Japan is running shows on back-to-back days Thursday and Friday. Both shows are FREE on New Japan World. Friday’s show has a NEVER 6-Man Title match in the main event. Hirooki Goto, Tomohiro Ishii & YOSHI-HASHI defending against Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Satoshi Kojima and Yuji Nagata. The Good Brothers are returning to New Japan. Dok Gallows said they always wanted to leave that door open. (Gallows NJPW Impact Contract) That clip from Gallows from an interview posted on New Japan’s YouTube. The Good Brothers say they plan to wrestle in Japan again. Before that, they’ll be part of a tag team tournament in the U.S. that’s airing on New Japan Strong. Plus, Raw Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley tags with Mandy Rose & Dana Brooke against Charlotte Flair and the women’s tag champs Natalya & Tamina. Roman Reigns will defend his Universal Championship against Edge at Money In The Bank. That match was officially announced over the weekend. (STINGER: AEW) Dr. Britt Baker’s first defense of the AEW Women’s Championship will come on Dynamite on July 21st...when she’ll defend against Nyla Rose. JD Drake & Ryan Nemeth vs. Billy & Colten Gunn… Matt Hardy & Private Party vs. Dark Order’s Alex Reynolds, Alan “5” Angels & Colt Cabana… Plus, Riho, Hikaru Shida and Thunder Rosa are all in singles action. Kenny Omega is still the AEW Champion. He turned away the challenge of Jungle Boy on Saturday night’s Dynamite - pinning him with the One Winged Angel. Omega was looking to do more damage after the match, but Christian Cage ran out to cut off Omega. Next out was Matt Hardy and Private Party. Christian was close to getting the better of them before the Young Bucks put him down with a double superkick. Hangman Page pinned Powerhouse Hobbs with the Deadeye. Ricky Starks and Hook tried to interfere...but Brian Cage ruined those plans. Also on the show, Kris Statlander pinned The Bunny with the Big Bang Theory. Results from the big shows in Japan over the weekend. Jake Lee won the vacant Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship in All Japan over the weekend. Edge got the better of an attack on Reigns, set up for the con-chair-to...but Jimmy Uso cut him off. Reigns fled. Jimmy got speared by Edge through a barricade for his troubles. Earlier, Jimmy Uso pinned Dolph Ziggler with a superkick. Big E is in the men’s Money In The Bank ladder match. He qualified by pinning Apollo Crews with the Big Ending on last night’s SmackDown. Sami Zayn will have a chance to qualify on next week’s show - but he’ll have to beat Kevin Owens in a Last Man Standing Match. Carmella was announced as an entrant in the women’s Money In the Bank match. Liv Morgan wants in the match too, but she apparently has to earn her way. So, Morgan was put in a match with Carmella...and beat her. Bayley & Seth Rollins beat SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair & Cesaro. Bayley pinned Belair with the Rose Plant after Rollins ran into Belair. WWE announced four live event dates in the United Kingdom coming up in September. (STINGER: New Japan) FILTHY Tom Lawlor is still the Strong Openweight Champion. He pinned Karl Fredericks with a PK on last night’s Strong. Lawlor and his Team Filthy partner JR Kratos beat up on Fredericks after the match, but were run off by Satoshi Kojima, who declared himself the next title challenger. Also on the show, Clark Conners scored a big win over Rocky Romero. New Japan announced Friday that it will have live fans in attendance for New Japan Strong tapings on Monday, August 16th. The next challenger for the NEVER 6-Man Titles appears to be the veteran team of Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Satoshi Kojima and Yuji Nagata. In a late change to the card, they were inserted into a 10-Man Tag opposite the champs Hirooki Goto, Tomohiro Ishii and YOSHI-HASHI. Ishii pinned Tomoaki Honma to get the pin and the win. Another notable incident from the show, Taichi booted Hiromu Takahashi off the ring apron before an LIJ vs. Suzuki-Gun 8-Man Tag. Takahashi has been out with a shoulder injury. The upcoming Kizuna Road shows on July 2nd and July 3rd will be FREE to everyone on New Japan World. (STINGER: AEW) A couple new matches were announced for Saturday night’s AEW Dynamite: Kris Statlander vs. The Bunny. Plus, a rematch from earlier this month: Matt Sydal vs. Top Flight’s Dante Martin. Sydal beat Martin on a recent episode of Dark. Tokyo Joshi Pro announced that Yuka Sakazaki will return to the United States and AEW next month. (STINGER: ROH) Max The Impaler finally got her ticket into Ring Of Honor’s women’s championship tournament. During ROH’s Women’s Division Wednesday show on YouTube, Max beat Allie Recks in an impromptu match...just moments after Recks had lost a match to Angelina Love. Major League Wrestling says its Battle Riot III show coming up on July 10th at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia is sold out. MLW announced another show for the same venue...coming up in October. MVP found his way inside the cell after the referee was knocked out. McIntyre battered MVP inside the cell. But later, it was MVP who made a timely grab of McIntyre’s ankle and Lashley rolled up McIntyre for the pin. Also last night, Charlotte Flair beat Rhea Ripley...via disqualification. So, Ripley is still the Raw Women’s Champion. Bianca Belair pinned Bayley with a KOD onto a ladder...INSIDE Hell In A Cell...to retain the SmackDown Women’s Championship. The match between Alexa Bliss and Shayna Baszler included Alexa apparently hypnotizing Shayna and Nia Jax, who was at ringside. The apparent mind control over Nia caused her to strike down Reginald. Anyway, Bliss ended up pinning Shayna with the Twisted Bliss. Sami Zayn pinned Kevin Owens with the Helluva Kick. Thanks to Sean Ross Sapp for pointing this out - that was Zayn’s first pinfall win in a one-on-one match since last October. Seth Rollins reversed Cesaro’s giant swing into a rollup for the pin and the win. Natalya submitted Mandy Rose with the Sharpshooter on the Kickoff Show. (STINGER: AEW) Tonight’s AEW Dark: Elevation has Jungle Boy vs. Cezar Bononi...Matt Sydal vs. Jack Evans. Plus, FTR is in tag team action. As well as the team of Eddie Kingston & Penta El Zero Miedo. COVID-19 related issues are wrecking plans for a promotion in Japan once again. The dominant, top title holder in All Japan - SUWAMA - vacated the Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship over the weekend...after he tested positive for COVID. SUWAMA was set to defend the gold against the Champion Carnival winner Jake Lee in less than a week. Both Kento Miyahara and Yuma Aoyagi stated Sunday they want to challenge for the title. But There’s no official word from All Japan on what it plans to do about this. (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan has announced its first show in front of live fans in the U.S. since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Resurgence will go down on Saturday, August 14th at The Torch - a 5,000 seat outdoor venue at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Among the names scheduled to appear - Jay White, Jon Moxley, the Good Brothers, FILTHY Tom Lawlor and Shota Umino. The show is to be broadcasted live with Japanese commentary on New Japan World...and on FITE TV with English commentary. Back in Japan, the Kizuna Road tour resumes on Tuesday...with the NEVER 6-Man Tag Titles on the line in the main event. SmackDown ended with Reigns powerbombing Dominik from the ring to the floor...though the impact was not shown on camera. WWE announced on its social media late Friday night that Montez Ford suffered a partial rib fracture and a cartilage injury...due to a post-match attack by Otis last night. He interrupted a one-on-one match between Ford and Chad Gable...and also attacked Angelo Dawkins backstage. The battle over the crown of King Corbin could be settled next Friday. Corbin and Shinsuke Nakamura will meet...with the crown on the line. Those two faced off on last night’s SmackDown...and Nakamura rolled up Corbin for the pin. Kevin Owens and Big E beat Apollo Crews and Sami Zayn. Owens pinned Zayn with a stunner. And then, Commander Azeez laid out Zayn after the match. Liv Morgan avenged her loss to Carmella last week with a win in the rematch. Cesaro returned to SmackDown to ambush Seth Rollins - during his appearance on Bayley’s “Ding Dong Hello?” talk show. (STINGER: AEW) The wheels came off Team Taz in the main event of last night’s Dynamite. Hangman Page & Dark Order’s #10 beat Brian Cage & Powerhouse Hobbs. #10 pinned Hobbs. Ricky Starks and Hook tried to pass the FTW Title to Cage behind the referee’s back...but Cage once again refused their help. Starks slapped Cage...and Cage then stalked Starks to the back. That left Hobbs alone to take the Buckshot Lariat from Page...and be pinned by #10. Also last night, Miro submitted Evil Uno to retain the TNT Championship. Nyla Rose pinned LEGIT Leyla Hirsch with a Beast Bomb from the second rope. Eddie Kingston, Pac & Penta El Zero Miedo beat the Young Bucks and Brandon Cutler. Pac pinned Cutler. The Good Brothers tried to jump Kingston, Pac and Penta after the match but they were cut off by the ELITE HUNTER Frankie Kazarian. Darby Allin declined to find a tag partner other than Sting. He said he’ll accept a handicap match against Ethan Page & Scorpio Sky on next week’s Dynamite...and Allin told Sting to stay home for it. In an Instagram post Tuesday...Rush said he separated his AC joint during the Casino Battle Royale at AEW’s Double Of Nothing pay per view. Rush said the injury gave him time to think...and come to this decision. He said he will make his contractually obligated appearances for New Japan after he’s healed...and then, he’ll be done with wrestling. (STINGER: WWE) Sunday’s NXT TakeOver: In Your House will see the NXT Tag Titles and the North American Title defended...in the same match. MSK & Bronson Reed will face all three members of Legado Del Fantasma in a 6-Man Tag. The winning team gets ALL the gold. The TakeOver match between Cameron Grimes and LA Knight will now be a Ladder Match for the Million Dollar Championship. Io Shirai returned to NXT last night...introduced by Poppy. Also last night, Ember Moon beat Dakota Kai via disqualification...after NXT Women’s Champ Raquel Gonzalez got involved. Oney Lorcan pinned Austin Theory. Johnny Gargano and Pete Dunne brawled at ringside during this match. That distracted Theory and opened the door for Lorcan to hit a uranage for the win. Isaiah SWERVE Scott pinned Killian Dane. The rest of Hit Row beat up Drake Maverick. (STINGER: ROH) We have a new match added to Ring Of Honor’s Best In The World pay per view. It’ll be Silas Young vs. Josh Woods in a Last Man Standing Match. Tony Deppen will defend the ROH TV Title in 3-Way against former champions Dragon Lee and HOT SAUCE Tracy Williams. That match will be shown on ROH’s weekend TV in two weeks. The latest wrestler to advance in the Survival Of The Fittest tournament is… The end saw Sledge knock Johnson for a loop with a forearm...but Johnson collapsed right onto Sledge’s knee - and injured him. Johnson rolled up Sledge and got the pin. After the match, PJ Black showed up to congratulate Johnson...but Johnson didn’t seem too happy to see him. Ian Riccaboni tweeted that ROH will return to Philadelphia for a show “with fans”...and “information will be communicated shortly”. The NWA will run pay per views on back-to-back days in St. Louis...coming up in August. The first will be an all-women pay per view, with Mickie James serving as executive producer. The pay per view on August 29th will be the NWA’s 73rd Anniversary show. Also announced on last night’s Powerrr...there will be a tournament to determine the next holder of the NWA National Title. (STINGER: AEW) On last night’s Dark… Aaron Solow pinned Sonny Kiss...after Kiss was distracted by QT Marshall standing at ringside. The Factory beat up on Kiss after the match. Joey Janela was nowhere to be seen during all this. Former NWA TV Champion Zicky Dice made his AEW debut on last night’s Dark. He was dispatched in a matter of minutes by Lance Archer. Also, QT Marshall beat Bear Bronson...and Matt Sydal beat Dante Martin in the main event. No Dynamite tonight. It’s pushed back to Friday night again this week. (STINGER: New Japan) The dates for some upcoming title matches in New Japan are now set. Hirooki Goto, Tomohiro Ishii & YOSHI-HASHI will defend the NEVER 6-Man Tag Titles against EVIL, Yujiro Takehashi & Dick Togo on the Kizuna Road show on June 22nd. (STINGER: WWE) WWE will hold SummerSlam in Las Vegas...at Allegiant Stadium - the home of Raiders! It’ll be the largest venue to host the event since London’s Wembley Stadium...all the way back in 1992. The stadium can hold as many as 72,000 fans. The date for the show was already set for Saturday, August 21st. Police are searching for a man who broke into the home of the ThunderDome - the University of South Florida’s Yuengling Center. Police shared security camera images - showing an unidentified man stealing several items - a gym bag and what appears to be a title belt. The United States Champion Sheamus shared a picture of himself in the hospital over the weekend - apparently, he needed surgery to repair facial injuries he suffered last Monday. It’s not clear how much time he’ll miss - if any. The next challengers for the Raw Tag Team Titles could be decided tonight. There will be a Tag Team Battle Royal. Five teams will be involved: Randy Orton & Riddle...Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods...the Viking Raiders...the Lucha House Party...and T-Bar & Mace. The winner gets to challenge AJ Styles & Omos. Also on tonight’s Raw...WWE Champion Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre will sign the contract for their title match at Hell In A Cell. And Shayna Baszler returns to Alexa’s Playground (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan has its Dominion show this morning. The main event is Kazuchika Okada vs. Shingo Takagi for the vacant IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. Plus, El Desperado defends the Jr. Title against YOH...and Kota Ibushi vs. Jeff Cobb. Keiji Muto’s reign as the top man in Pro-Wrestling NOAH is over. He lost the GHC Heavyweight Title to Naomichi Marufuji...in the main event of Sunday’s Cyber Fight Festival. (STINGER: AEW) At least ten matches are announced for tonight’s Dark: Elevation. The Varsity Blondes battle Ryan Nemeth & JD Drake. Former AEW Women’s Champ Hikaru Shida returns to action against Diamante. The Acclaimed vs. Dark Order’s Alex Reynolds & Alan “5” Angels. Mark Sterling will be in the corner of Jade Cargill as she faces Rache Chanel. AEW announced another live date - in Charlotte - on Wednesday, July 28th. Tickets go on sale Friday. There’s a new NWA World Women’s Champion. Kamille pinned Serena Deeb to win the gold at Sunday’s When Our Shadows Fall pay per view. Nick Aldis managed to hang on to the Worlds Heavyweight Championship - but this one was controversial. Trevor Murdoch locked Aldis in a submission hold after delivering some shots with a steel chair. The referee called for the bell, but it was NOT a submission win for Murdoch. It was a disqualification victory for Aldis. Tyrus used a foreign object to win a non-title match against the NWA TV Champion Da Pope. Kylie Rae made her NWA debut. She and Taryn Terrell beat Thunder Rosa and Melina. Rae rolled up Melina for the pin. It was stated during the broadcast that Rae has signed a contract with the NWA. Sunday’s GCW show ended with Nick Gage being attacked by a masked man...who hit Gage with a double-arm DDT...and then revealed himself to be...Matt Cardona! He appeared live during a special Friday Night Dynamite last night...standing alongside Vickie Guerrero. QT Marshall & Anthony Ogogo beat Cody Rhodes & Lee Johnson. QT pinned Cody after Ogogo delivered a right hand to Cody’s jaw. Dustin Rhodes beat Nick Comoroto in a Bullrope Match - hitting a bulldog from the second rope and then tying up Comoroto’s legs to get the pin. The Young Bucks opened the show with a win over Pac & Penta El Zero Miedo. Pac was rolled up for the pin after interference by Brandon Cutler. The Bucks’ plans for a post-match beatdown were interrupted by Eddie Kingston. Jungle Boy & Christian Cage beat Private Party. After the match, Matt Hardy dropped Christian with a Twist Of Fate on the entrance ramp. Red Velvet served up Just Desserts to beat The Bunny. Miro will defend the TNT Championship on Dynamite next Friday night...against Dark Order’s Evil Uno. Jake Hager challenged Wardlow to an MMA Cage Fight on Dynamite in two weeks. Kenny Omega will defend the AEW Championship against Jungle Boy on a special Saturday Night Dynamite on June 26th. (STINGER: WWE) The location of SummerSlam will be revealed on Saturday. It’ll be announced during the Belmont Stakes pre-race show on NBC. We already know the show is set to be held on Saturday, August 21st. Bayley will get another shot at Bianca Belair’s SmackDown Women’s Title at Hell In A Cell. Belair challenged Bayley on last night’s SmackDown...and Bayley accepted. We got not one - but TWO - SmackDown Tag Title matches last night! The show opened with Rey & Dominik Mysterio beating The Usos to retain the gold. Dominik reversed Jimmy Uso’s top rope splash into a roll-up. Jimmy actually kicked out, but the ref was out of position and made the 3-count. That led to The Usos getting another shot at the tag belts in the main event. That match ended with Roman Reigns running in to cause a disqualification. Reigns battered Rey & Dominik with the ring steps after the match. That was too much for Jimmy. He walked out on Roman...but Jey was conflicted as the show ended. Apollo Crews pinned Kevin Owens after a Death Valley Driver on the ring apron to retain the Intercontinental Title. Owens was weakened before the match by a backstage attack by Commander Azeez. Sami Zayn showed up after the match to beat up on Owens a little more. King Corbin pinned Shinsuke Nakamura. It appeared Corbin had taken back his stolen crown too. But his escape was cut off by Rick Boogs...and Nakamura made off with the crown yet again. Also last night, Carmella beat Liv Morgan. (STINGER: ROH) HOT SAUCE Tracy Williams is recovering...after he was hit by a car. He tweeted a picture Friday, showing himself in a neck brace. He said he’ll be okay...but didn’t elaborate on his prognosis. Williams is one-half of the Ring Of Honor Tag Team Champions alongside Rhett Titus. They have a title defense against Dragon Lee and Kenny King coming up on next weekend’s ROH TV. Presumably, that match already happened during the last ROH TV taping. The NWA’s When Our Shadows Fall pay per view is coming up on Sunday. Nick Aldis defends the Worlds Heavyweight Championship against Trevor Murdoch. Kamille challenges Serena Deeb for the NWA Women’s World Championship. Plus, Aron Stevens & Kratos defend their tag titles in a 3-Way against Chris Adonis & Thom Lattimer...and the War Kings - Crimson & Jax Dane. Some big shows in Japan are coming over the next fews days. The Cyber Fight Festival is Sunday in Japan. The start time for the show is just before midnight Eastern time in the U.S.on Saturday night. Three promotions are offering title matches on the show. From Pro-Wrestling NOAH...Keiji Muto defends the GHC Heavyweight Championship against Naomichi Marufuji. Pete Dunne, Kyle O’Reilly and Johnny Gargano will meet in a 3-Way #1 Contender Match on tonight’s NXT. It’s already announced that this match will open tonight’s show. Also set for tonight’s show...an NXT Tag Title match: MSK defending against Legado Del Fantasma. Drew McIntyre will get another shot at WWE Champion Bobby Lashley and he’ll get it at Hell In A Cell. McIntyre secured the #1 Contendership by beating Kofi Kingston in the main event of last night’s Raw. AJ Styles and Omos are still the Raw Tag Team Champions. Elias bailed on his partner Jaxson Ryker during the match...and Ryker was pinned by Styles soon after that. When asked for an explanation, Elias simply said he doesn’t want to be around Ryker anymore. The U.S. Champ Sheamus lost a pair of non-title matches. Ricochet rolled up and pinned Sheamus after Sheamus was distracted by Humberto Carrillo making his entrance during the match. Carrillo immediately had his own match against Sheamus...and Carrillo also rolled up Sheamus for the pin...thanks to a distraction by Ricochet. Reginald PINNED Shayna Baszler…with a rollup. Shayna was in control until fire erupted from one of the ring posts…and Reggie was able to take advantage. Later, Reggie was a guest in Alexa’s Playground...where Shayna attacked him from behind. Alexa Bliss informed Shayna that Lilly “really doesn’t like her”. Shayna said she and Alexa will have “a chat” next week...and informed Lilly that she’s “just a stupid doll”. Nikki Cross survived another Beat The Clock Challenge, this time against Charlotte Flair. Randy Orton pinned Xavier Woods with the Bro Derek. Mandy Rose & Dana Brooke beat Naomi & Lana...as the WWE Women’s Tag Champs Natalya and Tamina looked on. Cedric Alexander went after the eyes of Shelton Benjamin to open the door for him to hit the Neuralyzer and get the pin. Mace & T-Bar beat the Lucha House Party. (STINGER: AEW) On last night’s Dark: Elevation… Nyla Rose & The Bunny beat Red Velvet & Big Swole. Rose rolled up Swole after a cheap shot from The Bunny. Thunder Rosa submitted Reka Tehaka...and made it clear she’s coming for Dr. Britt Baker’s AEW Women’s Championship. Matt Hardy & Private Party jumped Christian Cage, who came out to congratulate Jungle Boy for his win in the Casino Battle Royale. Jungle Boy later wrestled in the main event, where he submitted JD Drake. Some notes from the media scrums late Sunday night after Double Or Nothing. Lio Rush’s agreement with AEW is a “handshake deal”, according to Tony Khan...and Rush will continue to work for New Japan. Chris Jericho said he’ll keep working for AEW while Fozzy is on tour later this year. Joey Janela says he’s currently sidelined with an injury. (Janela Injury) That clip from a video posted by Janela on his social media. Janela said he’ll have to withdraw from his scheduled match Sunday at the GCW show in Atlantic City...and he thinks he’ll also miss his match at the GCW show in Wyoming on June 19th.. Cody Rhodes told Comicbook.com he’s “99% sure” the TNT Championship will remain the TNT Championship - after AEW’s weekly TV shows move to TBS next year. (STINGER: New Japan) Will Ospreay shared an update on the injuries that apparently forced him to relinquish the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. On Twitter he said he’s “being referred for another MRI on my lower back as well for fears I may have the same issue in my neck. Things ain’t looking good, but I’m determined to comeback this year.” As for reports and rumors of “gaijin unrest” in New Japan...Tama Tonga isn’t really buying it. (Tama Gaijin Unrest) That clip from the new episode of the Tama’s Island podcast. El Desperado confirmed Wednesday that he was one of the New Japan wrestlers to test positive for COVID-19 this month. Kazuchika Okada and Taichi also confirmed their positive tests earlier this week. Okada made a surprise appearance at the start of Wednesday’s New Japan card at Korakuen Hall. He said he’s going after the vacant IWGP World Title. The main event on that show saw Tetsuya Naito & SANADA beat Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI. After the match, Naito issued a challenge for the NEVER 6-Man Titles held by Goto, YOSHI-HASHI and Tomohiro Ishii. Goto accepted. No word yet on a date for that title match. There’s no word yet on who will replace Virk at the commentary desk on Raw. WWE returns to live touring in July...and tickets to the first three announced events go on sale this morning at 11 a.m. Eastern - those are the July 16th SmackDown in Houston...Money In The Bank the following Sunday in Fort Worth...and Raw the night after in Dallas. Karrion Kross is still the NXT Champion. He choked out Finn Balor in the main event of last night’s show. We should learn next week who Kross’ next challenger will be. Dunne spoiled Bobby Fish’s return from injury last night. He pinned Fish with the Bitter End. Oney Lorcan beat up on Fish after the match. Shotzi Blackheart & Ember Moon beat the NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez & Dakota Kai. Moon pinned Kai...but Gonzalez laid out both Moon and Blackheart after the match. Mercedes Martinez beat Zayda Ramier. But her post-match celebration was interrupted by smoke and lighting effects. When it was over...Martinez had a mark on her hand - implying she’s being targeted by Tian Sha. Santos Escobar made it clear that he wants to be the first to challenge the new North American Champion Bronson Reed. Nick Aldis will defend his NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship against...Trevor Murdoch. That’ll happen at the next NWA pay per view “When Our Shadows Fall”...coming up on June 6th. Murdoch earned the title shot by winning a battle royal on last night’s Powerrr. Aldis’ cohort Chris Adonis relinquished the NWA National Title so he could enter the battle royal - but he ended up being the last man eliminated by Murdoch. The heavily hyped showdown between Thunder Rosa and Kamille...ended in a draw. So, that’s good news for Rosa. The result means she can continue to wrestle outside the NWA. BUT we still do not have a #1 contender for Serena Deeb’s Women’s Championship. Aron Stevens & Kratos beat Jax Dane & Crimson to retain their NWA Tag Titles after a mystery man attacked Crimson. (STINGER: ROH) Ring Of Honor unveiled the field and the brackets for its upcoming Survival Of The Fittest tournament. The first-round matches on the left side of the bracket are: Rey Horus vs. Flamita...Eli Isom vs. Dak Draper...and Bandido vs. Bateman. On the right side of the bracket, the first-round matches are: Brian Johnson vs. Sledge...Chris Dickinson vs. O’Shay Edwards...and Danhausen vs. Rhett Titus. The winners all advance to a 6-Way Elimination Match...and the winner gets a shot at the ROH World Championship. The tournament begins in two weeks. (STINGER: AEW) The simmering issues between Joey Janela and Sonny Kiss may be coming to a head. Kiss was beaten by Brian Cage in the main event of last night’s AEW Dark. After the match, Hook beat up Kiss some more. Janela did not intervene. He just stared blankly for a bit and then walked away. (STINGER: WWE) The NXT Championship is on the line tonight. Former champ Finn Balor gets his rematch against Karrion Kross. Also being promoted for tonight, Bobby Fish’s first match since his return from injury. He’s set to face Pete Dunne. Plus, Raquel Gonzalez & Dakota Kai vs. Shotzi Blackheart & Ember Moon...the NXT in-ring debut of Franky Monet...and Cameron Grimes faces off with Ted DiBiase. Less than a week after he was released by WWE, the former Velveteen Dream - Patrick Clark - posted a lengthy statement on his Instagram. Clark said his termination was the result of Speaking Out accusations against him...that surfaced more than a year ago. Clark gave a detailed account of his version of the events involving two of his accusers...calling their stories “baseless and untrue.” Charlotte Flair will get her one-on-one match against Rhea Ripley for the Raw Women’s Championship...and it will happen at Hell In A Cell. That match was announced on last night’s Raw...not long after Charlotte used a cradle to pin Asuka. As for Ripley, she technically lost a Beat The Clock match to Nikki Cross...who survived two minutes against Ripley without being beaten. It was Charlotte who goaded Ripley into taking the match. Natalya & Tamina are still the WWE Womens’ Tag Team Champions. Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler, appeared to be in position to take back the titles...but Reginald chose the wrong moment to jump up onto the apron. Baszler told Reggie to get lost...but as he walked up the ramp fire erupted from the stage. That distracted Baszler and allowed Natalya to grab a small package and get the pin. Baszler was fuming at Reginald after the match. She grabbed him and demanded he face her one-on-one in a match on next week’s Raw. Also set for next Monday...Drew McIntyre vs. Kofi Kingston. The winner will get the shot at WWE Champ Bobby Lashley at Hell In A Cell. They actually tried to do McIntyre vs. Kingston - with the same stakes - on last night’s Raw...but Lashley and MVP got involved and the referee threw the match out. Sheamus used a handful of tights to pin Humberto Carrillo. Sheamus tried to beat up Carrillo some more after the match, but Ricochet ran out to make the save. Riddle faced off against Xavier Woods...and it was Riddle getting the win...pinning Woods with the RKO. Jaxson Ryker pinned AJ Styles after outside interference from Elias. Cedric Alexander pinned Shelton Benjamin. (STINGER: New Japan) The latest New Japan wrestler to confirm he tested positive for COVID-19 is Taichi. He told Tokyo Sports he started feeling sick after performing at the Wrestling Dontaku shows. Taichi said his symptoms were mild. Meanwhile, some news that could impact foreign talent looking to wrestle in Japan. The U.S. State Department issued a “Do Not Travel” advisory for the country...citing a “very high level of COVID-19 in the country”. (STINGER: AEW) We have a handful of matches announced for tonight’s AEW Dark: Brian Cage vs. Sonny Kiss...Dark Order’s “10” vs. Dillon McQueen...and Nick Comoroto vs. Duke Davis. Some familiar faces to fans of New Japan on last night’s Dark: Elevation. Ren Narita pinned Royce Isaacs with his bridging belly-to-belly suplex. And Rocky Romero pinned JD Drake with a cradle. The Wingmen tried to jump Romero after the match...but Best Friends - including Romero’s former tag partner Trent - ran out for the save. The show ended with them reunited as their old Roppongi Vice theme played. Tonight’s NWA Powerrr is being promoted as a “season finale”...with some big matches, including the one between Thunder Rosa and Kamille. The winner is the #1 contender for Serena Deeb’s NWA Women’s World Championship. There are added stakes for Thunder Rosa. If she loses, the Forbidden Door for her, is closed and locked.
