So relax, And give yourself a moment to adjust and move until you find the most comfortable sleeping position. And when you’ve found it, Take a big, deep breath in, And as you exhale, Release all the heaviness on your heart, And fall deeper into your bed. PAUSE… You are a gorgeous, imperfect being of light. And as you journey through this life, You mess up. You make the wrong decisions, Say the wrong things, Take the wrong actions, And fall down hard. PAUSE… It’s okay. It’s okay to make mistakes, It’s okay to be imperfect. We all are. So be here tonight, One with your breath, And plug into the wisdom of the universe, And forgive yourself. PAUSE… Forgiveness is the first step to accepting what is, And acceptance will allow you to open your heart to the lessons to be learned, So you can hold the mirror in front of you, Without judgements, And unlock the fears, The stories, And the beliefs that brought you here. So breathe and melt further into your bed, And cover yourself with the blankets of forgiveness tonight, Knowing that you are loved, Completely, Unconditionally, Just as you are. PAUSE… There is always a silver lining, Always a lesson to learn that will benefit us, Always cosmic beauty in what seems like chaos. So rest your head with peace in your heart tonight, beautiful, And know that everything will be okay. That you are exactly where you need to be. Breathe out the worries, And let go of the blame, And allow yourself to surrender to deep sleep. PAUSE… Imagine the wand of forgiveness tapping lightly on the crown of your head, Its soothing sparkles of magic relaxing you, As your eyes get heavier, Your cheeks soften, Your jaw releases, And your lips lightly part. PAUSE… Watch as that fairy-like wand travels down your face, And taps your shoulders, Your chest, And your arms, Causing them all to relax, And release. One by one. PAUSE… And as the beautiful wand of forgiveness continues, Feel its warm sparkles touch and heal your belly, Your hips, Your thighs, Your legs, And your feet. And feel them all deeply soften, And relax. PAUSE… Sink deeper into your bed, Covered in the blankets of forgiveness, Comforted by its warmth, Kindness, And grace. You are safe here, my love, Protected from your own inner demons who want to make you wrong, Shame you, And challenge your worth. Safe from others who want to hold you to a standard of perfection, Who want to make you less than, Or withhold grace. You are safe here, In the blankets of forgiveness. It doesn’t want to be still. PAUSE… So I lower my shoulders, And slowly deepen my breath. I expand my chest, Imagining my heart opening, As my body melts into relaxation. LONG PAUSE… So much has felt heavy, Like I’m caught in the middle of a storm. The skies might clear for a moment, But then the rain comes down again. PAUSE… All I see are dark skies, The clouds are eerie. I feel each drop saturate me and weigh me down. I’m cold and lost, And all I see is gray. PAUSE… But suddenly, My eyes are clear, And my body comes alive. I look around and realize, There’s beauty in this storm. LONG PAUSE… I raise my hands to the sky, Honoring the drops of life. Watching the water sink into the Earth, Feeding the plants and animals, And flowing into the rivers. PAUSE… I feel the rain on my skin in slow motion. The sensation awakens me, Thrills me. The wind runs through my hair, And makes me feel wild and free. PAUSE… Soon I’m dancing in the rain. Arms outstretched, Head raised high, Legs moving in rhythm. PAUSE… The thunder, wind and rain, Create music I can finally hear. LONG PAUSE… I am dancing in the rain, Alive, Magical, Free. PAUSE… What was once dark, Is now light. Nothing has changed, Except my sight. Called to the surface by your subconscious, Who was triggered somehow. Though these old wounds are painful, Resist the urge to push them back down. For this is an opportunity to heal deeply, To transcend the pain, And become more you in the process. So rest now, dear one, Falling gently into your bed. Give yourself the freedom to move around a bit, Until you find that sleeping position that feels so good. And then take a deep breath in, And as you breath out, Melt further into your bed. Deeper, Ready for sleep. PAUSE… Let your body relax, As you find the soothing rhythm of your breathing. Breathing in the fresh air of the night, Breathing out the movement of the day. Breathe in, Breathe out. PAUSE… Let go of all those thoughts, Plans, Tasks, And emotions that linger inside. Now is not their time. PAUSE… Let them release from you as you exhale, And fade away into the darkness of the night. PAUSE… Sink deeper, With every breath out. And come home, With every breath in. Breathe and relax, Breathe and release. LONG PAUSE… Feel the gentle hand of the night, Place itself upon your heart. Feel the heat as her hand rests here, Touching you with love, And sending warm healing deep into you. PAUSE… Her hand glows softly with the golden light of love, Compassion, And wisdom. PAUSE… Open yourself to her healing touch, And imagine the soft golden glow seeping deeper and deeper into you, As your breath travels deeper and deeper. PAUSE… Invite the night’s golden hand of love to drench you with healing, Finding those holes that have been buried inside of you for so long, And filling them up. LONG PAUSE… Feel the warmth spread from your heart, Out from your chest, And into your right arm. Then into your left arm, Down the entire length of your back, And down into your belly. PAUSE… Watch as the healing glow lights you up, Down your left leg, Then your right. Let it heal you, Let it absolve you, Let it transform you. LONG PAUSE… Feel the healing hand of the night gently lay upon the crown of your head. The warmth penetrate you, As the healing energy cleanses and restores the precious space of your thoughts. No matter what life may have thrown at you today, there is always so much to be grateful for. And focusing on it will open the doors for even more good to come your way. So close your eyes and settle onto your bed. And go ahead and stretch your arms and your legs out as far as they can go, Imagining your spine straightening and aligning, and inviting any physical discomforts to release. And then release the stretch, bringing your arms and legs back in, And let yourself settle into your favorite sleeping position. PAUSE… Notice your breath, Observe its rhythm, Its consistent and reliable cadence. Feel the air as it fills your lungs and breathes life into your body. See if you can imagine all that oxygen traveling throughout your body, Feeding you, Warming you, Loving you. And let yourself silently whisper, thank you, as you think about how precious each of these breathes are. What a miracle it is for you to be here right now. Feel the glow and the warmth of gratitude inside of you. PAUSE… Now take a deep breath, And see if you can melt your body just a bit more into your bed. And let the following words of gratitude lay over you like a soft blanket, Wrapping you in comfort and covering you as you drift off to sleep. Thank you for this breath. Thank you for my body. PAUSE… Thank you for this place to lay my head, And for the food that nourished me today. PAUSE... Thank you for the people in my life whom I love and who love me, Who are constantly teaching me how I can be a better person. Thank you for the challenges, for all the ways they encourage me to grow. PAUSE... Thank you for my work and the services I get to provide. Thank you for the happenings of the day. Thank you for all the technology and tools I have access to that bring so much convenience into my life. PAUSE… Thank you for the times I’ve been brought to my knees; they’ve taught me how strong I am. Thank you for the help and support around me, I know that I am loved. PAUSE… Thank you for the money I have that keeps me fed and safe. Thank you for the kindness I receive from others. PAUSE... Thank you for my dreams, the visions and goals that keep me inspired. And then release your breath, All the way out. PAUSE… Another full inhale now, Filling up from your toes, All the way up to the crown of your head. Holding it at the top for a moment. And then exhaling with a sigh, Releasing all the air, All the tension, As you melt a little deeper into your bed. PAUSE… Be here, Relaxing into a soothing, slow rhythm, Of breathing in, And breathing out. PAUSE… Inhaling just a bit deeper each time your breathe in, And exhaling just a little longer each time you breathe out. PAUSE… Breathe… And relax. LONG PAUSE… All day long, Little pieces of toxicity have entered your body, And snuck into your mind. PAUSE… The food you ate, The water your drank, The words that landed upon your ears, The visions that played before your eyes, And the thoughts that bubbled up in your head. PAUSE… They’ve accumulated within you, And now you can consciously let them go, Clearing your mind, Cleansing your body, Leaving you light and free. LONG PAUSE… So see if you can imagine a soft, gentle hand hovering over you. She’s warm and kind, And places herself on your heart. PAUSE… Like a magnet, she calls all those pieces of toxicity to her, And one by one, They come. Releasing their hold on you, And landing in this gentle hand. PAUSE… Your heart immediately feels lighter, Cleaner, And whole. LONG PAUSE… The gentle hand finds her way to your belly. You feel the warm energy of her touch, And see her calling all those pieces to her. PAUSE… One by one they leave you, Leaving everything in this area clean, And clear. LONG PAUSE… The soft hand places herself on both your legs, And the toxins are in her pull. PAUSE… Feel them gather up and release their hold, From your toes, Your feet, Your ankles, Up to your knees, And all the way to your hips. PAUSE… Your legs are clean, And clear. LONG PAUSE… The gentle hand now hovers over your back. Watch as all the toxins detach from your lower back, Slowly up your spine, All the way up to your neck, Releasing their hold, Helpless against the magnetic pull of the detoxifying hand. LONG PAUSE… Now feel the warmth on the crown of your head, As the soft hand rests here. Millions of toxic pieces swim in your mind, And one by one, They are pulled into the palm of the loving hand. PAUSE… Let her absorb them all, Releasing the toxins from your mind, Leaving you clean, And clear. LONG PAUSE… Rest now, dear one, And float through the land of dreams. Clean, And clear. PAUSE… Think of words you already hold dear, The ones that stir you to action. Create a list of aspirational choices, And then trust your gut to decide. PAUSE… Perhaps you’re looking to take a stand, To make your needs and boundaries clear. Or maybe you want to set yourself apart, Determined to shine. PAUSE… You may have a much quieter desire, To keep the world’s influence out, While you do your best to stay grounded. PAUSE… You might be looking to show extra kindness, To seek out others who may need help. Or perhaps you’re ready to have some fun, To cut loose and make new friends. PAUSE… No matter which yearning sits in your heart, It’s valid, necessary, and worthy. Give yourself permission to go after it, Knowing you’ll be grateful in the end. PAUSE… It’s a small step, and yet so monumental, To let a ‘power’ word lead the way. Belief begins with a single choice, A recognition of your own priority. PAUSE… Take charge of what you do today. All those thoughts, All those regrets, All those upsets and fears. They dance together in your mind, Weaving their stories and haunting you with each scene. Your stomach is in knots. And your adrenaline is pumping. So begin with a deep breath in, my love, So those demonic thoughts can disappear once and for all. Breathe… Deeply, Fully. Extracting your attention from those thoughts, And bringing them here onto your breath. Following the air in through your nose, Down your chest, And deep into your belly. PAUSE… Feel your inhale expand your body, As you breathe just a bit deeper with every breath in, And extend your exhale with every breath out. Slow it down. PAUSE… You are perfect right here. Just the way you are. Exactly where you need to be in this moment. Breathe, And as you breathe out, Relax your body deeper into your bed, Falling heavily into the sheets beneath you. PAUSE… Gather up those fears, Those worries, Those regrets, Those upsets and discomforts. All of those ghostly thoughts haunting you, And gently blow them away with every full exhale. Breathe… And blow away the thoughts. Breathe… And let go of it all. PAUSE… Let go of your anger. Let go of your fear. Let go of your self-judgments, Let go of your discomfort. Let it all go, As you breathe out fully, And sink further into your bed. PAUSE… Forgive yourself, my love, And set yourself free. Forgive others, So you can truly heal. PAUSE… Tomorrow you can lean into the lessons learned, Or the logic of it all. But tonight, Right now, Fall back into the comforting arms of sleep, And let her protect you here in the night, Shielding you from those thoughts, And dissolving them all away. PAUSE… Relax deeply, And watch those haunting thoughts float further and further away from you, Releasing their hold on you, And you releasing your hold on them. PAUSE… Pause and breathe, And remember who you are. Pause and be, You shine like the stars. LONG PAUSE… As love begins to reside, Within you and all around, Your eyes can finally see, The blessings that abound. PAUSE… The sun, moon and stars, The wind, sunshine and rain. The soft Earth below your feet, All that seems so mundane. PAUSE… Your body and your mind, That function rather well, The laughter and love that surrounds you, The ways in which you excel. PAUSE… Like flowers painting the field, Wild with colors and sweet scents, Your blessings are innumerable, Your gratitude is immense. PAUSE… So pause and breathe it in, The fragrance of your life. PAUSE You draw in a breath and immerse yourself in a distant galaxy, gently sliding around and around on its spiral until you land in its heart. PAUSE And there is light all around in the heart of the galaxy, twinkling brightly against the inky sky of the cosmos. PAUSE Then, through the silence you hear a voice in the distance. It’s a far off whisper at first and then it becomes slightly louder. PAUSE You open your ears, and focus your attention To hear the cosmic whisper say, “You are beautiful.” PAUSE As the words echo in you, your inner galaxy lights up, touching and comforting you. PAUSE You bring your awareness back to your mind’s eye beholding all the cosmic beauty expanding within you. PAUSE After a moment, you feel yourself being lifted to another galaxy, one that is elliptical in shape. PAUSE Instinctively, your feet skate around the ellipses until you’re ready to softly jump into the galaxy’s center. PAUSE This galaxy hums and purrs like a factory of blinking stars and whizzing comets. PAUSE You feel the life of this galaxy as it thrums within you, energizing you with a confidence you’ve not felt before. PAUSE After a few moments, you catch a calling from the far reaches of the galaxy, A calling that says, “You are powerful.” PAUSE You breathe in the words, as they hover in and around you. The words stir feelings of strength and renewal. PAUSE Slowly, you’re lifted out of the galaxy and transported to a new galaxy, one that is asymmetrical with red, white, and purple colors pulsing throughout. PAUSE You wait for a moment and breathe, taking in the Universe’s magnificent art, and allowing yourself to float into the galaxy’s core. PAUSE The galaxy is filled with stars and matter that form a gauzy web all around. PAUSE Lights flicker in and out in a hypnotic rhythm that calms and comforts you. PAUSE Then a celestial wind begins to blow, a swell of cosmic dust that flows before you like a river. PAUSE And in the wind, your name is whispered, again and again, until you hear it say, “You are loved.” PAUSE The Universe then elevates you above the galaxy and carries you to another– a spiral galaxy with two tail-like streams of stars. PAUSE While floating in the galaxy, a pair of interstellar clouds shaped like two fingers pointing upward stretch out before you. It warms you to the perfect temperature, balancing the brisk air around you. PAUSE An incredible sense of comfort and safety envelopes you, as if all is well with you and with the Universe. PAUSE You take a deep breath letting the security and tranquility expand within you. There is peace and comfort beaming from inside you. PAUSE You gaze at the sky, and watch as the thousands of stars look like they're moving, and only you can see. They’re your magic stars. PAUSE Deep relaxation envelopes you wraps you in a soft blanket of love and coziness. PAUSE You snuggle deeper into the soul of the blanket, as a fresh chill in the air arrives. PAUSE A pillow appears behind you head, soft like a swan, and you rest your head and neck on it, letting the pillow gently cradle them. PAUSE Your eyes are heavy now, so you close them, and just continue listening to the gentle sizzle and snapping of the fire. PAUSE You snuggle more with the blanket, shifting it slightly to find the perfect position. PAUSE The fire crackles again, releasing a tiny orange flame that shimmies and bounces before falling back into an ember. PAUSE Take a breath and feel the cool air touch your chest and core. You don’t need permission, it’s more like a decision, One that belongs to you alone. PAUSE… It’s often difficult to claim what we own, Even when we desperately want to do so. We think we owe others more than ourselves, And we pay the price without question. PAUSE… In truth, your allegiance must be to you, For you are your greatest ally. When you need affirmation of your own importance, Your heart and soul will gladly comply. PAUSE… Though things get cloudy in the outside world, Making it tough to see what’s real, The view is always crystal clear, When you peer out from deep within. LONG PAUSE And breathe in deeply again, letting the cool, comfort of your bed relax you as you sink deeper into it. LONG PAUSE And as you breathe, let your breath form a rhythm, gently moving in and out and lulling you into a deep, restful calm. LONG PAUSE Now, imagine the breath lightening your body, so that it feels more open, almost weightless. PAUSE And with this beautiful, relaxed feeling, notice the sheets of your bed transforming into fluffy clouds beneath your body. PAUSE After a moment, the clouds lift you up out of room and above the house, sailing slowly and gently through the air. PAUSE The air is like satin around you, giving you a wonderful level of comfort as you float along. PAUSE Now, imagine the cloud taking you to a wooden door with a arched frame and iron spikes all around like a gate… a door that leads to a garden. PAUSE The door creaks open and the cloud lets you down, and you are amazed at the lushness of the summer garden before you. PAUSE There are white and yellow daisies, purple geraniums, pink peonies and brilliant magenta hibiscus blooming everywhere. PAUSE You breathe in and catch the scent of lilac blossoming in a corner, Its beautiful purple stocks bending in the breeze. PAUSE As you stroll through the rows of rainbow colored flowers, one of the hibiscus flowers catches your attention: A tiny pink and green hummingbird is sipping its nectar. PAUSE You draw closer to the flower, and the bird doesn’t seem to mind, as you watch its tiny wings beat so fast you can barely see them there. PAUSE After a satisfying drink, the little hummingbird lifts in the air and leaves the garden. PAUSE Moments later a honeybee lands on a daisy, buzzing like a violin. PAUSE Safely, you watch the bee as it goes right to work gathering its food and then flitting to another flower, pollinating it and giving the garden continued life. PAUSE Moments later, a dragonfly flutters by, pausing briefly in the air and then on the ground, its stain-glass wings shimmering in the sunlight. PAUSE A tiny black and gold chipmunk pokes it head out from behind a shrub, and a bushy-tailed squirrel shakes a pine tree bouncing from limb to limb. PAUSE In the center of the garden, you notice a fountain carved from stone with two cherubs dancing on top. PAUSE Water tunnels out from the heart of one of the cherubs, splashing gently into the water below. As you draw near, you notice two large koi fish swimming in the fountain, Their golden scales slimmering in the water. PAUSE You pause, and sit on a stone bench near the fountain, so you can take in all the beauty of the garden. PAUSE After a while, you notice the sun slowly fading, and the azure blue sky turing to midnight blue. PAUSE A few fireflies light up the garden, and you watch their hypnotic lights before noticing the fluffy cloud has returned. PAUSE It’s time to leave the summer garden but you now carry its beauty with you, day and night. Every day. Over and over again, Settling into its cycle. LONG PAUSE… Now take a big, deep breath in, Imagining the air clearing out what’s inside. Hold it for just a moment. And then breathe out, Releasing the air, and everything not needed inside. PAUSE… Breathe in deep again, This time letting the air stretch your spine straight, From the bottom of your tailbone, All the way up to the crown of your head. And then let the air go, Exhaling and softening your body into comfort. PAUSE… Relax your breathing, And let it find a nice, easy rhythm. And then let it go, Releasing all the air, All the worries, All the thoughts, All the plans, Into the space around you, Watching them dissolve and disappear. PAUSE… Now hold yourself up straight as you breathe in one last big breath, Expanding your spine and releasing the tension within, Imagining all that air rising to the top of your head, And then exhale, Releasing your breath, Calming your mind, And relaxing your body. LONG PAUSE And as you lavish in the covers, feel your body melting in relaxation. LONG PAUSE And as you feel your body relax, let your mind open to visions and dreams. LONG PAUSE Take a moment and find yourself in an art gallery, with magnificently high ceilings, and hundreds of paintings adorning the walls. PAUSE It’s the middle of the night and you can see thousands of glistening stars through the glass ceiling. PAUSE You’re standing in the center of a large hall, next to marble statue of a discus thrower, a young Grecian man, bathed in soft moonlight. PAUSE The statue is milky smooth on the surface, with fine, pristine details of the face and body, and muscles sculpted with perfection. PAUSE The discus thrower looks as if he’s coiled up and ready to release all of human kind’s potential in a single throw. PAUSE You close your eyes and imagine the discus player coming to life and releasing his discus. PAUSE The discus is unleashed into the night sky, flying higher and higher until it’s out of sight. PAUSE As you gaze the discus thrower, the milky smooth marble softens into skin, and the discus thrower takes your hand and pulls you onto the platform. PAUSE He smiles, brushes a tuft of chestnut hair from his brow and raises his arm. PAUSE With his arms in the air, figures from the paintings gingerly step out and onto the floor. Sculptures unwind and walk about. PAUSE The air is perfumed with the fragrance of sweet wildflowers and freshly baked bread as well as dusting powder and cologne, all from the figures in the artwork. PAUSE A barmaid stops by the platform sharing goblets of wine with you and the discus thrower. She moves about the gallery offering her elixir to all. PAUSE You sip the wine enjoying its taste and the warm feeling of relaxation it brings. PAUSE Then, a woman with resplendent honey-color hair trots a dapple gray mare through the hall, proud and stately. PAUSE The women smiles and pauses to tap goblets with the discus player, then with you, before trotting off to somewhere else. PAUSE Around the hallway, you notice that figures from the art, are now real people, that stop and chat with one another, embrace and laugh just like dear friends. PAUSE Two fishermen walk by with a casting net in their arms and the discus thrower asks where their boat is. PAUSE The fishers laugh and point to a wall where a brown wooden boat with sails like canopies sits in the middle of a painting. PAUSE In the distance, you notice a man with a gray bowler hat and pinstripe suit waltzes with a woman with pink ribbons in her hair and dress. It’s so beautiful. PAUSE And while watching the figures from the art come together, there’s an understanding of community of how everyone contributes– how everyone gives something back. PAUSE After a moment, you notice the discus thrower standing up on the platform, and his discus slowly returning to his hand. PAUSE The discus thrower gently leads you off the platform then repositions himself just as he was when you first saw him. PAUSE Gradually, then, the other pieces of art quietly reassemble themselves, blending back into paintings, and recreating their poses as sculptures. Prepare yourself to go within, Make renewal your goal. PAUSE… Think about the way you speak to yourself, The language you hear in your head. The words are likely different than those you select, When talking to others instead. PAUSE… In life, we talk about love languages, Meaning the way others’ gestures impact us. But in a very real way, the words we use, Create a pattern to which we adjust. PAUSE… If you tend to speak kindly, both inside and out, Then your love language is already in place. But if you’re snappish and dismissive, to yourself if not others, Then it’s time for a change of pace. PAUSE… Think of the words you use most of all, Then think about how they make you feel. Though a harsh word here or there can be harmless, A pattern makes the pain real. PAUSE… It’s no secret we’re usually hard on ourselves, And there are times to be held to account. Tough mental love isn’t the answer though, Especially in generous amounts. PAUSE… Imagine having a secret code, A list of words that buoy your spirit. Using them often might change everything, Making your self-love transparent. PAUSE… Maybe it helps to be reassured that you’re safe. Or that your intentions matter most of all. Perhaps you need to hear that your dreams have value, And you’re worth loving just as you are. PAUSE… Whatever the message, if it makes you okay, Practice saying what you need to hear. The world may agree, or the world may not, But it doesn’t matter if your own belief is sincere. Take a deep breath and make yourself a promise, vow to be an encouraging voice. Release that breath and feel the weight of that gift, the gift of compassionate choice. LONG PAUSE… Words are not just pebbles to toss around. They’re not just vague placeholders. The way you speak to yourself matters a lot, Turning small stones into great boulders. PAUSE… By contrast, if you begin to cast sunshine, Instead of repeatedly throwing shade, The light you shine on a wounded soul, Can make that grave pain fade. PAUSE… Once you’ve mastered being kind to yourself, You can change things for others as well. The words you send out into the world, Can bring the troubled out of their shell. PAUSE… Just as your own self-talk makes you feel seen, Like your presence is both required and enjoyed, The gentle and caring things you say, Can pull others back from the void. PAUSE… Though we often hear mixed messages, Hear that love is what you do, not what you say, If you align those goals and speak tenderly, Your words make everything okay. PAUSE… But instead, here I am, Trying to find peace, Believing the chaos will fade. I have to be willing, To sit in the fire, Without feeling dismayed. PAUSE… So breathe with me now, Slower and slower, Let your breath calm you down. Feel your mind ease, From all of that stress, Feel yourself melt in the ground. LONG PAUSE… Layer after layer, Slowly peels away, Releasing the mountains of pain. Layer after layer, Slowly reveals, The vulnerable me that remains. PAUSE… Right here in this space, Naked and raw, I see what I need the most. And just then I feel, The arms of the Divine, Hug me like a beautiful ghost. LONG PAUSE… She whispers her words, So I can feel loved, There’s comfort that she’s here to bring. When you’re falling apart, I’m right here with you, I’ll gather up everything. PAUSE… I let myself cry, I let myself go, I release it all out with each tear. The more that I free, Everything inside, The more I feel light and clear. LONG PAUSE And, as you breathe in, feel the breath expanding through you, creating healing energy and connecting all of you. LONG PAUSE Keep inhaling and exhaling and envision the breath gently touching all of your body. LONG PAUSE Now, as you continue breathing, bring your thoughts to the present and feel yourself in the now. PAUSE In the present, feel your body comfortably connecting with your bed, sinking into it with deep relaxation. PAUSE And as you deepen your relaxation, imagine the cozy covers of the bed separating and transforming into the softest petal of a flower. PAUSE The petal has a gentle aroma that calms the soul with each breath. PAUSE After a moment, the petal safely lifts you into the air and suspends above your bed before gently sailing out the door. PAUSE You nestle into the petal and its luscious comfort and enjoy the sensation of flying slowly out into the world while wrapped in the petal. PAUSE The moon shines brightly, lighting your way, as the petal rises in the air. PAUSE Slowly, the petal continues to rise until you’re surrounded by a playground of stars. PAUSE Each star shimmers in the inky sky, and you feel their energy resonating with you. PAUSE You take a moment and notice that the stars seem to play with one another, shining messages and dancing in the night sky. PAUSE You imagine dancing with the stars, waltzing slowly through the cosmos, lights trailing your every move like a shadow of diamonds. PAUSE Then, the stardust gathers beneath the petal and ever-so-gingerly moves it along. PAUSE Gently, like the rudder on a rowboat, the stardust guides the petal back into Earth’s atmosphere. PAUSE The petal floats downward until you’re surrounded by mountains standing tall with the glimmer of the moon. PAUSE As the petal wafts toward the ground, a tiny brook catches your eye. PAUSE The brook is small and filled with stones that sparkle like jewels in the moonlight. PAUSE As the petal descends, it makes a cushioned landing in the stream and begins gently moving with the water. PAUSE Along the banks, fireflies twinkle and tease one another as the petal continues to float in the brook. PAUSE A bullfrog sounds a mating call, then splashes in the water. PAUSE A symphony of cicadas sing their songs while the great horned owl’s hoots cut through the dark with their own music. PAUSE Now, imagine a warm breeze cradling the petal, carrying it out of the brook and taking it away. PAUSE You feel comfort and trust as the breeze steers the petal. PAUSE After a few moments, the petal sails back into your room PAUSE The soft petal unfurls and melts into your luxurious bed, leaving you a calmness that wraps around you just like the petal. Move around your body just a bit if you need to, Releasing any tension, Any pain, Or any pockets of energy left over from the day. PAUSE… Now take a big, deep breath in, Letting the fresh air fill you up completely. And as you exhale, release they day, And bring your body into deep comfort. LONG PAUSE… They can bubble up even amidst the quiet of the night, Tapping on your shoulder and wanting your attention. The voices want to remind you of tasks left to complete, Plans to be made, Anxieties to sort out, And pieces of life to organize. But you don’t have to listen to them tonight, my love. You don’t have to let them take over. So breathe them out with every exhale, As you imagine those voices exiting your body with every breathe out. PAUSE... Breathe… And imagine each of those voices turning into a soft, grey mist, Floating out of your body with every outbreath. And then invite your body to melt further into sleep. PAUSE… Let them go, As you feel a soothing warmth on the crown of your head, Relaxing your forehead, Your eyes, Your cheeks, Your lips, And your neck. LONG PAUSE It feels like those days come with so much noise, whether it’s work, or cleaning or picking up kids’ toys. LONG PAUSE So when the sun disappears behind the moon-kissed clouds you retreat to your room to a cushion of no sound. LONG PAUSE And lying on your bed, you connect with a deep peace. You find a comfy position beneath the silken sheets. LONG PAUSE And you open up your breath to feel the air of night and the cool mist enters you with a feeling that all is right PAUSE You choose to be in a place serene away from others where you’re not seen. LONG PAUSE And on those nights when you want to get away, something magical happens at the end of your day. PAUSE From the depths of calm found only in your room, you’re wrapped in love in a spiritual cocoon. PAUSE And before you know it, your cocoon opens up and two gossamer wings elevate you above. PAUSE Your wings are swirling with a kaleidoscope of colors, and as you rise upward, they begin to flutter. PAUSE Neon colors stretch around you from the magic of the wings, and as you float above the house, the chorus of the night sings. PAUSE The cicadas are happy and so is the red fox. The deer are calm and so are your thoughts. PAUSE And you understand intuitively that the animals are free and you want to enjoy your own freedom peacefully. PAUSE And so, like the animals that scurry around in the night, you find this time sacred before the morning light. PAUSE So your filmy, pale wings take you up to the trees where you see the opal moon with total ease. PAUSE And the moon comes alive in a way so enchanting and shares her secrets with you with conscious understanding. PAUSE Your wings flutter brightly and your heart seems to know that the moon’s tip for you is to honor your soul. PAUSE “But it’s hard,” you say in honest protest, and the moon replies, “It will make sense when you rest.” PAUSE The moon continues to share that “Your dreams are your source. Just ask what you want, and you’ll be given it, and more.” PAUSE And the words of great luna send a ripple of peace running through your neon wings, allowing your calmness to increase. PAUSE And the great silver orb smiles and gives you a wink, and your prismatic wings begin to comfortably sink. PAUSE And before you know it, the wings land you gently in bed, and make sure they tuck a pillow under your head. PAUSE Then the wings disappear as quickly as they came, but you are soon to realize that you are not the same. PAUSE You gaze at the window to catch a silver moonbeam. Then close your eyes to find the moon’s dreams. Sweet dreams. Though your mind is doing its best to help, There’s a time when your thoughts must scatter. PAUSE… Night time is that sacred time, A chance to pause and rest. We all need a break from the give and take, A block of hours away from the stress. PAUSE… Even when we love our lives, The to-do list can be a tsunami. An overpowering cascade of tasks, That batters both mind and body. PAUSE… What’s more, we have expectations, Strict requirements for perfect completion. Little do we know, we’re chasing a myth, Harming ourselves for no reason. PAUSE… Perfection is a room with no door, A cold, unreachable place. We spend years of our lives seeking it out, To then be humbled when our efforts go to waste. PAUSE… Nothing in life can be perfect, When each eye has its own view. There is no ideal to suit every mind, And no perception that’s truly true. PAUSE… We end up driving ourselves crazy, As we chase what we think others want. But just like us, they’re racing in circles, Paying no mind to what we are or are not. PAUSE… Things feel so life-or-death sometimes, Like the world will stop if we fail. But failure is as unmeasurable as everything else, So it’s useless to allow fear to prevail. PAUSE… Instead, we need to change our view, To decide on our own kind of perfection. It needn’t make sense to anyone else, A bit like looking at your own reflection. Breathe in and see yourself as only you can, your strengths, your quirks, your magic. Breathe out and set that essence free, let the world know who you really are. LONG PAUSE… What might you do if you wouldn’t be judged, If no one waited to rate your performance? Would you find a new passion or take a new risk, Or perhaps reassess your importance? PAUSE… The truth is, you can do those things. You can chart a new path right this minute. For the eyes you feel upon you all the time, Only exist when the mind overruns your spirit. PAUSE… Freedom is the antidote to perfection, The path to your own ideal world. You can create your own utopia, When you let your anxieties unfurl. PAUSE… Though it’s hard to know where they come from, These fears show up in us all. We want to fit in, to feel worthy and admired, But instead end up scared and small. PAUSE… It seems so counterintuitive, To go against the grain, To throw out years of effort and worry, In an attempt to relieve the pain. PAUSE… But that’s exactly what it takes, To find your own perfection. Adjust the bar to fit you best, And set out in your own direction. PAUSE… Your life is indeed a marathon, But in truth, there’s just one runner. You’re forever poised to take the prize, When you’re racing to steal your own thunder. PAUSE… You are your only competition. You’re also your very best fan. You have nothing to prove to anyone but you, And you’re the only one in charge of the plan. Inhale and think about what it means to be the person in charge of you. Exhale and know you’re up to the task, that you can make your dreams come true. PAUSE As you stroll through the shelves, titles of thousands of leather-bound books reveal themselves, beckoning you to take a closer look. PAUSE After a few moments of combing the stacks, an elevator with an iron door appears, and safely, you step into it. PAUSE Inside the elevator you’re struck by its beauty– all brass and white marble with no buttons to push for floors; the elevator just knows where to take you. PAUSE The elevator stops on a floor, and the doors open. Curiously, you exit and begin perusing the stacks, eager to learn what wisdom they hold. PAUSE Walking through the shelves of books, a light energy buzzes in you, the energy of learning fills your soul. PAUSE A thick, brown leather book with gold lettering and yellow, dusty pages calls to you, and as you reach for it, the book magically lifts off the shelf and opens on a table where you can read it. PAUSE The yellowy pages hold elaborate calligraphy with vivid color images of royalty and faeries and everyday men from the sixteenth century.. PAUSE Now, imagine the images spring from the pages and holographic characters begin talking in Olde English right in front of you. PAUSE Magically, you understand everything: two sets of lovers quarrel, a king complains about his daughter, and a group of everyday men try to put on a play that is so bad, you have to laugh. Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream comes to life before your eyes. PAUSE After a few moments, the images dissolve back into the book, and another book flies off the shelf to you. PAUSE Before your eyes, Galileo rises, telescope in hand, as he gazes at the stars. PAUSE Galileo is silent at first, looking deep into the cosmos that unfolds around you with twinkling stars and swirling galaxies. PAUSE You see exactly what Galileo sees: the full moon shining, Venus aglow, and Jupiter with its moons. They all light up before you. PAUSE Then, Galileo puts down his telescope and feverishly scribbles something in a notebook. PAUSE Fascinated by his every move, you try to read Galileo’s notes and understand his calculations. Claim your space and prepare to rest, It’s time to take care of you. PAUSE… When you’re ready, let your mind float free. Take your thoughts to a soothing place. Picture a grassy meadow, Wildflowers in every direction. PAUSE… If you study those flowers closely, With an eye toward more than color, You’ll see movement over the flowers’ heads, Something zipping from one to another. PAUSE… Dedicated to their critical mission, Nature’s little messengers spread out over the field. They land on the lovely blossoms, Spreading pollen wherever they land. PAUSE… Moving from bud to bud they fly, Mixing and matching as they go. A divinely beneficial give and take, Good for both bee and flower. PAUSE… Picture the bee’s energetic flight, Its eager, hopeful pattern. See it dart all over that fresh green field, Collecting its essential cargo. PAUSE… The bee knows exactly what it needs to do, And it focuses only on that task. Watch it work with true purpose, Let its dedication fill you with awe. Take a deep breath as you think about the power of your own life’s mission. Exhale and imagine working as hard as the bee to gather what you need. LONG PAUSE… Once it’s finished in the meadow, The bee’s job is far from over. From there it flies back to the hive, Ready to share its treasure. PAUSE… Imagine how satisfying it must be, To return home after a job well done. By following nothing but its instincts, The bee tends both itself and its world. PAUSE… You, too, can live your life that way, Laser-focused on your primary purpose. And just like the bee’s quest to feed its family, You serve others when you honor your nature. PAUSE… Picture a hive of buzzing bees, A community with goals in alignment. Feel the fullness of this cooperative spirit. PAUSE… Let that hive energy fill you, Feel its hope and clear intention. Softening your body, And calming you. LONG PAUSE… Feel the gentle tingling on the bottom of your back. And as your breathing slows even more, Feel your lower back soften, Then your middle back, Your upper back, And your shoulders. Feel your entire back melt into your bed. LONG PAUSE… Feel the warmth gather in your belly, Opening, And softening. Feel it slowly move up to your chest, Relaxing your heart, And your neck. Breathe and relax, Breathe and release. LONG PAUSE… Now bring your attention to your shoulders. Let them drop and relax. And feel the warm energy descend down to your elbows, Your forearms, Your hands, And your fingers. Feel your arms melt into your bed, Relaxing you even further. LONG PAUSE… Notice the warmth of the night, Gathering on your neck, Opening, And softening. PAUSE… Feel it rise up onto your chin, Your lips, Your nose, Your cheeks, Your eyes, And your forehead. Relaxing you deeply, Releasing the day, And calling you into deep sleep. LONG PAUSE Then breathe, just take in slow, deliberate deep breathes that cleanse you. LONG PAUSE And with each cleansing breath, allow the air to spread through your body, relaxing and focusing your attention on you. LONG PAUSE While continuing to relax, give yourself permission to let beautiful, magical dreams come to you. LONG PAUSE Now, imagine your room with the blinds or drapes closed, and with a little pinpoint of light peeking through. PAUSE The light fascinates you, so you go to the window to explore it. PAUSE As you open the blinds, imagine being gently swept into a dream where you stand above a mountain landscape. PAUSE The mountain is laced with emerald green terraces, cut into the mountainside. They look like wide, green steps in a staircase. PAUSE Gently, you descend on one of the terraces and realize you’ve landed in a rice paddy at harvest time. PAUSE Rice grows on each terrace, and men and women with bronze skin, wide-brimmed straw hats and focused expressions harvest the rice. PAUSE The men and women speak In a language like music that you just naturally understand. PAUSE As you draw closer, a woman looks up at you and bids you to come watch her as she works. PAUSE You comfortably bend over and observe how she harvests the rice with intention. Her curved knife smoothly glides through the plant as it separates the golden grains from the main stalk. PAUSE You run your fingers over the stalks and are surprised by the coarseness of the grain. PAUSE The woman then takes you to large flat rock with tubes of bamboo fastened on top; she hands you some stalks of rice. PAUSE Together, you thresh the rice stalks against the bamboo and watch as the rice grains separate and sprinkle like a shower of golden rain. PAUSE The woman gathers up the grains in a basket, and turns to look at you. The soft expression and hint of sadness in her eyes tell you it’s time for you to go. PAUSE You fold your hands, bow and thank the woman before being magically transported back to your room. PAUSE You pause and take a breath, making way for the next dream. PAUSE Again, a tiny light creeps through the blinds, calling you to come see the wonders behind it. PAUSE As you’re pulled into the dream, you find yourself in a lush, tropical world with a majestic volcano in the distance. PAUSE You marvel at the volcano as it spews a small amount of steam like a locomotive coming to a stop. PAUSE Then, a river of lava courses down the side of the mountain with mesmerizing hues of orange, red and yellow dancing as they descend. PAUSE The air hangs heavy with the smell of sulfur and salt while molten lava shimmers and glows, blazing a trail of change down the mountain. PAUSE While watching the distant volcano, nearby, you notice a man with wireframe glasses kneeling down and grasping a handful of black, moist dirt. PAUSE He lifts his glasses and inspects the dirt carefully, and as he does, a wave of understanding washes over you.
