So lay down in your bed and let them melt away, as you anchor yourself in the present moment and allow your body to rest. So let yourself slither around in your bed until you find the sleeping position you love the most. Take a deep breath in when you find it, And then exhale and settle even deeper into your bed. Be here. With the stillness of the night. And allow its cool, calm silence to isolate those thoughts racing through your mind. Those worries, Anxieties, Stresses, Fears. They are the ones in rigorous motion against the backdrop of the stillness. PAUSE… Thoughts. Stories. Emotions. That’s all they are. They are not you. What’s true is this moment. This breath. You. Here on your bed. Alive. Breathing. So allow yourself to separate them from you, All these worries. Inviting them to exit the rapid movement inside your head, And enter the stillness of the night. This moment of presence, Where the worries cannot exist. Watch them dissolve in the space around you, The tiny grains of sand spilling from them until nothing is left. Release the worries into the peaceful presence of the night. LONG PAUSE... Feel the deep relaxation of your body as the worries dissolve. It melts into the arms of the night, Releasing its need to control, Or be ready, Or fight. And instead softens, Trusts, And surrenders. Relax and release. PAUSE… It’s time to sleep. So breathe… In and out, And fall into the depths of the night. LONG PAUSE… Imagine the loving hand of the night, Softly rests on your head. Let your forehead soften as she caresses you. PAUSE… Now imagine the healing touch of the night, Releases all those thoughts inside your head. All the worries. All the unknowns. All the stresses. All the responsibilities. Feel them all lighten, And float away from you, Dissolving into the darkness. LONG PAUSE… It’s all going to be okay. PAUSE… Let yourself unravel, Let all the anxieties melt away. You don’t have to hold onto them anymore. PAUSE… Just be here, Present to this moment. To the movement of your body, To the gentle noises around you, To the touch of the blankets on your skin. LONG PAUSE Allow the stillness to slowly unfold as you become aware of your body. LONG PAUSE Take a deep breath and notice the peace and contentment that follows the stillness. LONG PAUSE As you continue to breath, observe an openness in your body, as if it feels almost weightless. LONG PAUSE Now, as you relax, notice a ball of golden light, brilliant, luminescent, taking shape just below your feet. PAUSE The ball glows and shimmers with a captivating amber light highlighted with hues of orange and red. PAUSE The ball seems to spin in space and to radiate rays of light as it turns, rays that burst forth like the sun. PAUSE The golden ball moves closer to your feet, enveloping them in a warm, healing light. PAUSE And the ball spins and emits tendrils of light– of pure healing– that touch every part of your feet and ankles. PAUSE After a moment, your feet tingle, as the golden light circulates even more healing energy through them. PAUSE You draw in a deep breath, and allow the ball of light to drift to your calves, where its soothing warmth penetrates the muscles. PAUSE The comforting heat of the ball rolls up to your knees and thighs, relaxing them. PAUSE The globe of light sinks into your upper legs healing and restoring at the cellular level. PAUSE As you inhale again, the radiant globe spreads its aura around your hips and lower back. PAUSE You feel your hips release and your lower back ease, melting deeply into the cushiony softness of your bed. PAUSE You pause for a moment, letting the serene warmth flow through you, relaxing you fully and completely. PAUSE Then, the healing ball moves again, and as the warmth expands to your torso, your body feels soothed and calmed. PAUSE You breathe in again and exhale, while the healing orb stations at your back, generating waves of relaxing heat through your back and shoulders. PAUSE The sun-like sphere pauses at your heart chakra absorbing any emotional pain with every beat of your heart. PAUSE As the healing ball rotates its energy through your chest and upper back, there’s a physical letting go of stressed muscles and strained memories. PAUSE The ball of energy rises to your neck and throat, softening the tension and freeing all the unspoken words your voice held back. PAUSE You pause again, basking in the warmth of the orb as it touches your face and head, warming your cheeks like the sun. PAUSE The healing ball gently exits through the top of your head and stops for just a minute above you. PAUSE Its heated spin slows, and the rays of light dim until the healing ball dissolves in the air. PAUSE And when it’s gone, you take a moment and indulge in the incredible relaxation, the incredible peace you feel throughout your body. PAUSE And after a moment, gratitude blossoms within you– a deep appreciation for all the healing, and magic, of the radiant orb– until its next visit. It’s so hard to tune out the noise sometimes, And find just a little peace. PAUSE… But that peace is coming, I promise it’s moments away. Just close your eyes and welcome the darkness, Let your breathing lead the way. PAUSE… Focus on the steady in and out, On the way your lungs do their job. Feel the breath bring you back to life, Its soft energy a gentle massage. PAUSE… Sink into the sensation, To the blissful, floating feeling. Delight in the joy of a calm, tranquil body, Then let your mind follow its lead. PAUSE… Once your mind is quiet, Once your body has stilled. That’s when angels can speak to you. That’s when you’re ready to hear. LONG PAUSE… The sounds are different for everyone. And the names may be as well. Angels, guiding spirits, messengers, A host of energies working for our good. PAUSE… They have much to tell you, And you have much to ask. But we so often forget to quiet the world, Pushing the messages out of reach. PAUSE… If you truly wish to change that, If you really want to hear, Then make your mind a welcoming space, And see what floats your way. PAUSE… Sometimes they bring you wisdom, A new way to see your world. And sometimes they bring you comfort, Remedies for a weary heart. LONG PAUSE… Breathe in and concentrate on what you need. Breathe out and know that the universe hears your plea. PAUSE… Whatever it is you’re longing for, Whatever feels out of reach. These messengers can help you get there, If you’ll just share what you need. PAUSE… I know it’s hard to believe in them, To trust that they would care. But there’s no risk in opening up, And seeing what happens from there. PAUSE… Isn’t it better to embrace the chance, That you’re really not alone? Isn’t it nicer to imagine supportive arms, Waiting to break your fall? PAUSE… What sort of peace does that give you? Does the idea make your heart smile? Can you drift ever closer to serenity, As you release old worries and fears? LONG PAUSE… What are you most longing to hear from your guides? How can they best soothe your soul? What would you ask, if you could ask anything? And how would it feel to understand? PAUSE… All of this knowing is possible, All of the answers can be yours. The key is in the listening, In the willingness to learn something new. PAUSE… New awareness can be scary, But not scarier than staying the same. The opportunity to change is truly a gift, One the universe is holding out to you. PAUSE… You might really have to reach to receive it, To hold that gift in your grasp. But the stretch is always worth the effort, And the motion gets easier every time. LONG PAUSE… You won’t regret the exertion, Nor the knowledge that it brings. In fact, you’ll begin to yearn for it, More and more each time. PAUSE… There’s magic in the silence, In the space you create for yourself. The possibilities are endless, Once you open that mysterious door. PAUSE… It almost feels too simple, Resetting and refocusing this way. We’re so out of touch with abundance, So convinced there’s no way out. PAUSE… But those restrictions are just an illusion, A boundary that shouldn’t exist. Your angels just want to remind you, Of the truths you’ve tucked out of sight. LONG PAUSE It’s time to just focus on you and allow your body to let go and relax. LONG PAUSE Give yourself a moment and become aware of your body as it sinks in to your marshmallowy bed. LONG PAUSE Now, pause, and imagine hearing a gentle ruffling of feathers, and as you sit up, you are greeted by an angel. PAUSE The angel’s face is aglow with light shimmering from it every time she moves. PAUSE Her turquoise robe flows around her like rippling waves teased by a breeze. PAUSE And, her wings are layered with silvery feathers that catch and dance with moonbeams. PAUSE After a moment, you notice that the angel’s hair changes colors from a pearl white to a pale moon blue. PAUSE As you gaze upon the angel, a wave of peace washes over you, and when the angel extends her hand, you instinctively clasp it. PAUSE Together, you and the angel embark on a journey, rising above the houses and trees and piloting past the streets of your neighborhood. PAUSE Moonlight bounces off the angel’s wings in a hypnotic rhythm that soothes your being even more. PAUSE As you rise, the world below fades away, and a deep feeling of peace settles in you. PAUSE After a while, you and the angel ascend a little higher, where the angel gently stops on a white puffy cloud. PAUSE While standing on the cloud with the angel, it jiggles slightly and begins to move. PAUSE The cloud transports you and the angel to a river of stars that radiates pure love. PAUSE You dip your hand in to swish the stars back and forth and are treated to a chorus of beautiful chimes. PAUSE The cloud moves again, bringing you and the angel to a meadow of neon flowers bursting with color and love. . PAUSE Pinks, greens and blues pop before you, with a pleasing aroma, a synthesis of every beautiful flower’s smell gently tickling the nose. PAUSE You draw in a deep breath, and allow the flowery fragrance to fill your soul with love. PAUSE After a moment, the angel reaches for your hand again, and you understand the journey is coming to a close. PAUSE You draw in one more breath of pure beauty and love and drop your hand in the river of stars once more. PAUSE Then, you take the angel’s hand and travel back to the comfort of your room. PAUSE Once in your room, the angel places her hand over your heart, and a rush of peace blossoms within you. PAUSE Then, the angel takes your hands in hers, and you feel a surge of love coursing through them. PAUSE With that, the angel leaves, ascending gently in your room while you thank her with love and gratitude flowing from your heart. PAUSE Now, imagine gazing at your hands, and feeling your heart, as you connect with transformative power the angel has bestowed upon you. PAUSE And as this power of love and peace flows within, you understand that the angel’s divine essence is etched upon your soul. Let’s begin by getting comfortable in your bed, Adjusting your body a bit to release any of the tension of the day, And when you find your favorite sleeping position, Take a deep breath in, Signaling to yourself that it’s time to transition into sleep, And exhale with a sigh, Relaxing your body further into your bed. PAUSE… Be here, And breathe, Calling your attention away from any thoughts or emotions that are lingering, And deeply into your body. Breathe... PAUSE... Let your eyes get heavier, Unclench your jaw and relax your cheeks. Lower your shoulders, Relax your arms and your hands. Soften your stomach, And feel your legs and your feet get heavier and melt into deeper relaxation. Feel your body here...warm. Relaxed. Soft. PAUSE… Imagine yourself as a little girl. Look at her hair, her body, her eyes. Notice her position, her attitude, her expressions. Take it all in...this vision of yourself as a child. What sounds do you hear her make? What scent is around her? What is her demeanor? PAUSE… Now see if you can imagine a giant bubble on one side of her. A dark, scary, smokey bubble. As you look closer at it, you recognize what’s inside...sadness, pain, hurt and fear. So many dark memories inside of this bubble. Maybe you’re seeing within it flashes of those dark memories, mini movies from your childhood. Or maybe you’re simply seeing the emotions floating within it and feeling their heaviness. The disappointment, rejection, or fear. Relax your body and just observe this bubble. PAUSE... This incredible little girl created stories about each one of those memories or emotions. Maybe she created a story called I’m not good enough. Or I’m not worthy. Or I don’t matter. Or even I can’t trust others. Or I can’t have everything I want. She’s not wrong for doing this...it’s what all of us do. But there are stories she created that are not allowing you to live as vibrant as you would like. PAUSE… So take a deep, cleansing breath in, And as you exhale, release the heaviness of these stories, PAUSE... And then reach out to this little girl, And embrace her in your arms, holding her close with love...pure love. And watch as that dark, smokey bubble diminishes, little by little. Hug her. Love her. Hold her. Accept her. And watch the stories evaporate away. PAUSE… You’re a beautiful being of love, And only this moment exists. You can’t change the past, But you can gather its lessons in your arms, And continue walking. So release the guilt, beautiful, And invite in forgiveness. PAUSE… Forgive yourself for the mistakes, Forgive yourself for the imperfections, Forgive yourself for the consequences of your actions. Feel the warmth of forgiveness release you from the chains of guilt. LONG PAUSE… Nothing you’ve done can take away who you are, You are love. And you are here to express love. So release the pain and suffering of guilt, As you absorb the lessons to be learned, And continue onto the path before you, Lighter, And wiser. All those worries, concerns or stresses you may be feeling about whether or not you’re being a good mom. All those judgements that may be coming at you - whether they’re from others or yourself...let them all go. Even those quiet whispers that wonder how your kids will turn out as adults...let them go. And instead, sit in this truth. You’re doing a great job, mama. And you are a phenomenal mother. And your little ones are so blessed to have you. No matter how many mistakes you make. No matter how unique your style of parenting. No matter how many times you’ve broken down. You are doing a great job. So the intention of today’s meditation is to give you the space to swim in the greatness of your mothering. So you can embrace the beauty of its imperfection and honor yourself for showing up every day. Close your eyes and settle into a position that’s comfortable for you. Slow your breathing down, Inhaling just a little more, And exhaling just a little longer. Feel the air come into the lungs and fill your belly. Relax your cheeks, Let your lower jaw release and let your tongue drop from the roof of your mouth. Lower your shoulders, Soften your stomach, Relax your legs. Feel your body melting into your position. And breathe. PAUSE… This time is for you mama. To honor you. To remind you that you are doing a great job. And that your kids are blessed to have you. Breathe deeply, Exhale completely. PAUSE… I want you to imagine yourself sitting in your favorite spot in your home. You feel so comfortable here. You are safe and cozy. Take a deep breath in, filling your belly with air, And as you exhale, relax yourself further into your favorite spot. PAUSE… Now imagine that your child walks into the room. They’re 20 years older than they are now, An adult in the world. And they’re here in front of you, coming home to visit you, mama. Notice what you see on your face as you look at your child. Joy. Pride. Gratitude. Intense love lighting you up. Your heart is full and you hear your inner voice whisper, you did a great job, mama. Notice your chest expand with air as you drink in the sight in front of you. Your child is here, Healthy. And authentically themselves. PAUSE… Notice that in this space of appreciation for the child you have raised, As you watch your beautiful kid in front of you, There are no judgements. No guilt. No worries about your parenting or even about your child. They do not exist here. All that exists is this incredible human in front of you. And a deep knowing in your gut that you have done a great job. And you continue to do a great job. PAUSE… Now take a deep breath in, inhaling oxygen deep into your body, Feeling it nourish and cleanse you, And breathe out completely, letting yourself sink deeper into relaxation. PAUSE Another white streak of light fans out across the sky like the branches of a celestial tree. It’s beauty radiates With a relaxing glow. PAUSE A cloudburst of rain drums rhythmically against the roof while the thunder gently grumbles again. PAUSE A ribbon of light dangles in the sky before fading into the velvety darkness of the rainstorm. PAUSE After a few moments, the rainshower slows to a melodic patter on the windows and roof. PAUSE The thunder abates to a hushed reverberation softly rumbling in the distance again. PAUSE A few more flashes of light set the horizon aglow before dimming into the heart of the night. Become aware of your mind slowing down, And then let yourself feel your breath. Feel the oxygen entering your body, expanding your chest and belly. Imagine she’s sitting in her favorite chair, A smile on her face, ready to be with you. You feel special. Loved. Grateful. PAUSE... I love you, you hear yourself say. And you see her face soften and light up. So you continue… You have shown me what love is. You’ve shown me love through your tenderness, your toughness, your discipline and your play. You’ve modeled for me what it means to be a woman, And that foundation has helped me blossom into my own version of womanhood. I’ve come to see how imperfect you are, Yet still have oceans of love for you. Thank you for being you. I’m so grateful I am your daughter. PAUSE… Now take a moment to look at her. And for the next little bit, invite yourself to say anything else you’d like with her, wrapped in this safe space of love. LONG PAUSE... Now come back to your breath. It’s time to close your eyes and release the day. PAUSE… Every day we live is a day we struggle, Every choice we make is one we can regret. Every voice we hear can sound like a critic, Every message to ourselves can break us into bits. PAUSE… But sleep is the perfect door closer. Sleep is the way we clean the slate. Sleep is the way we release yesterday. Sleep is the way we prepare to start again. PAUSE… So, if you’re ready to find forgiveness. If you’re ready to cut yourself some slack. PAUSE… Go through the words one by one, Absorbing what each means to you. Add pictures, colors, stars, and lights, Until each wish glows and shines. PAUSE… Think about how you get there, How you manifest each desire. Think about which needs matter most, And which ones just make life fun. PAUSE… Imagine what your smile looks like, On the day these wishes come true. Visualize yourself in your very best place, And know you can get there soon. LONG PAUSE… Forgive yourself as you inhale, acknowledge you make mistakes. Accept yourself as you exhale, remembering that mistakes allow us to grow. PAUSE… Who is tomorrow’s person? Who do you want her to be? Does she speak her mind, or start the trend, Or simply smile at everyone she sees? PAUSE… Does she take a big career risk? Does she speak her love out loud? Does she draw a line to protect herself? Does she listen to the voice of her muse? PAUSE… Do others start to take notice? Or does she keep her transformation to herself? Does she hold her head up higher, Or slip on her new confidence like a sweater? PAUSE… The ‘she’ is you, remember. The ‘she’ is who you long to be. And now that you’ve made your wish list concrete, It’s time to set that ‘she’ free. LONG PAUSE… Take a steady, knowing breath, feel the deeper you within. Release that breath into the world, giving life to your new plan. PAUSE… A day is such fleeting thing, Like a sliver of a life. A mistake is even tinier than that, One leaf on a towering oak. PAUSE… Though a tree relies on leaves to survive, There’s a time to let them go as well. Think of day’s end as your personal autumn, And let the leaves that don’t serve you fall. PAUSE… Sweep away what you do not need, Lean into what you’ve learned. Whether you smell burning leaves or sneeze chalkboard dust, Progress fills the air. PAUSE… It’s exciting to think about who waits for you, On the other side of dawn. It’s exhilarating to imagine setting her free, To walk the path that’s been hers all along. LONG PAUSE Now, imagine relaxing in a pool with turquoise water on a summer afternoon, while slate-colored clouds cluster above you. PAUSE The clouds billow and pile on top of each other like popcorn popping. Wisps of ale sunlight surrounds them and the rest of the sky. PAUSE After a moment, the air smells sweet with rain, and a pea-sized raindrop touches your cheek, followed by another, and another. PAUSE You peek up at the sky and realize that clouds have gathered into one rain cloud, and that it’s this one gray cloud that now sheds tears. PAUSE Looking over the pool, you notice that a handful of raindrops are dropping in the pool. PAUSE The raindrops are fat and heavy, and each time one drops in the pool, it bounces into a tiny explosion like a fountain surging with water. PAUSE Around the pool, dozens of miniature fountains explode with the beauty and precision of a ballet. PAUSE A breeze kicks up, and like a magic carpet, carries a petite pink blossom into the pool. PAUSE The blossom swirls and sashays through the water. PAUSE After a few moments, the petals of the blossom separate and float toward the corners of the pool like delicate lotus flowers. PAUSE A stray leaf lands in the pool, bobbing up and down before being picked up and tossed around by the breeze. PAUSE Leaning against the side of the pool, you let the cool rain skip on your face and listen as the breeze sings in the trees. PAUSE After a few moments, the raindrops slow their dance, and an arm of the sun cuts through the gray cloud above. PAUSE Soon, the sun reaches fully through the rain cloud and sends it floating away in innocent pieces. PAUSE The breeze quiets, and its song is replaced by a pair of chirping cardinals. PAUSE The delicate blossoms have sunk to the bottom, one of them next to a child’s forgotten mask. PAUSE The sweet smell of rain has dissolved from the air, replaced with the weight of humidity that clings to everything. PAUSE And, as you gaze toward the sky, the last raindrop pooling on your cheek dries, and you feel the warm kiss of the sun as the rest of the day unfolds. LONG PAUSE And with each breath in and out, feel your body gently sinking into the folds of your bed. LONG PAUSE Visualize a soft glow quivering in the darkness, a glow that draws your gaze. PAUSE In the middle of the room, a candle flickers, a white pillar candle with a dancing flame. PAUSE Colors dart in and out of the flame, as the candle bends and leans from side-to-side. PAUSE Sometimes, the candle gives off yellow and orange, colors that warm and spread through the soul. PAUSE At times, the flame teeters back and forth, creating a rhythmic pulse that connects more deeply with you. PAUSE With each flutter of the light the candle’s glow settles within you, sparking warmth from the inside and opening your own soulful light. PAUSE As you behold the candle, you feel the flame gently leading you to a still space within, a space of pure peace and total serenity. PAUSE And while basking in this space of peace and calm, the shimmering candle takes you to a deeper level of understanding and self-discovery. PAUSE The more the candlelight glimmers in the room, you quietly become more self-aware, as beautiful hidden truths are revealed to you. PAUSE These truths may be wonderful parts of yourself that you’ve denied, or kept away from others– or perhaps not even have realized. PAUSE Go back to your breath, Hear it without listening, Follow it without questioning. Gratefully go where it takes you. It knows what you need, Even when you’re not sure. LONG PAUSE Take a long, slow breath, feel it fill your chest. When you’ve taken in all you can, exhale what you don’t need. PAUSE Peace is near now, Hovering just ahead, Waiting for you to claim it. Relaxation is yours now, Flowing through your muscles and tendons, Easing you toward sleep. PAUSE Peace comes to us in pieces, A chain of moments or decisions, Each one breaking ground for the next. You feel it like a soft cascade, Like rolling waves of serenity, Sent from a benevolent ocean of calm. PAUSE At first peace feels separate, Like a small target on the horizon, But the deeper we sink, The closer it appears, Until we can reach out with our minds And let it pull us into its arms. PAUSE You’re a different person in that space, A scattered soul returned to self. What seemed impossible just moments before Is now free to bloom and grow. Body, heart, and mind unite, Their shared pulse a lullaby. PAUSE So close your inner eye as well, The most watchful one of all. Thank it for its diligence, For keeping your essence intact, And remind it of tomorrow’s promise, Waiting beyond the solace of night. LONG PAUSE Pull in a deep breath and feel yourself expand. Let your energy come inward, Away from the photos, emails, posts or shows that are keeping you awake. It’s time to put down your phone, beautiful, And come to sleep. So go ahead and snuggle into your favorite sleeping position, Close your eyes, And exhale a big, loud sigh. Releasing the day and signaling to your body that you’re ready to rest. PAUSE… Go ahead and adjust yourself if you need to, Relieving any kinks or tension you may have. And then take a deep breath in, And as you exhale, feel yourself melt into your bed. PAUSE… With your eyes closed, the noise inside your head may seem loud. Maybe it’s reminding you about something needed for tomorrow. Perhaps it’s giving you a vision of something that happened earlier today. Maybe it’s nudging you with subconscious worries or anxieties. Or maybe it feels just like the feed you see on your phone, One story after another popping up for you to digest, Layering you with information, Leaving you feeling heavy and even a bit chaotic. It’s okay… Your brain’s job is to make thoughts. And all you have to do, Is let them go, Releasing them into the night, And coming back here to sleep. PAUSE… So as we go through our meditation tonight and you hear any of these noises in your head, Just imagine each one existing your body through your exhale, and disappearing into the night. PAUSE… Now feel the gentle movement of your body, The beautiful waves of breathing moving through you, Expanding your chest and belly as you breathe in, And contracting everything as you breathe out. Over and over again, In a perfect rhythm, Breathing in, And breathing out. PAUSE… Let your forehead soften, Your jaw release and your cheeks relax. Allow your shoulders to drop And your arms get heavy, Feeling your chest melt into your bed. Breathe it all out, Releasing the day, the thoughts, the visions and the emotions. And come back to your body to rest. PAUSE… Feel the heaviness of your belly, Your hips, Your legs And your feet surrender their weight into the support beneath you. Breathe. PAUSE… There is nothing more for you to do, Nothing more for you to see. Nothing more for you to figure out. Everything left undone will be here for you tomorrow if you choose it. The nighttime has come and in this moment, You are safe. And you are loved. Allow the calmness of the night to embrace you. Breathe. Float into deep sleep, beautiful. And if thoughts arise, let each of them dissolve into the night every time you breathe out. And feel the lightness and the spaciousness inside of you, Sinking you deeper into restorative rest. Feel your heart, Peaceful and calm, The place for love, Kindness, And compassion. This place, For self-love. PAUSE… This reiki energy fills your belly now, Your stomach area, Feel it calm. PAUSE… Feel surrender. PAUSE… Observe and notice your hips, Feeling your hips settle. Letting go of your long day. PAUSE… This energy fills your knees. And down your legs. LONG PAUSE Notice your shoulders melting in relaxation and your neck as it softens comfortably. LONG PAUSE Bring your awareness to your back and feel it opening and any knots or tension unraveling. LONG PAUSE And now, become aware of your lower body, your hips, legs, and feet as they release and unwind from any tension. LONG PAUSE Take a moment, and indulge in feeling relaxed and centered with a feeling of peace both inside and out. LONG PAUSE Now, see if you can imagine standing in the center of an old, native village. PAUSE And all around you there are huts with dried palm fronds as roofing, and the buttery scent of fry bread wafts through the air. PAUSE As you stroll through the village, you notice women with copper skin and black eyes that sparkle with stories. PAUSE The women glow in skirts and ponchos woven with intricate, banded designs in bright colors that call out to you. PAUSE After a moment, you see the women gather in a circle sitting on the ground, each with sweetgrass, palm fronds, and pine needles. PAUSE In unison, the women pick up the materials, and begin weaving them together. PAUSE Like a symphony, their hands sweep in and out, and around the basket bringing colors and geometric designs to life. PAUSE The women talk, weaving connections in the baskets and connections between themselves. PAUSE While watching the women wave, a woman with lively eyes and a soft smile sees you and beckons you to join the circle. PAUSE You plant yourself next to her, and stare in wonder at the partially made basket before you. PAUSE The woman takes your hands, and together, you begin dancing with your fingers, moving in and out and around the basket. PAUSE Colors like berries appear in the basket: reds, blues, and blacks. and diamonds and triangles come to life with each row of weaving. PAUSE While weaving, daughters of the women in the circle come with plates of piping hot fry bread stuffed with meat and sweet fillings. PAUSE You take a bite that melts in your mouth, and a harmony of tart and sweet flavors plays on your tongue. PAUSE As you delight in your fry bread, you notice the circle changes, and the women come closer to you and your basket. PAUSE Hands reach out and take your basket, adding layers of weaving and passing it on to the next pair of hands like a tribal dance. PAUSE When the basket circles back to you, there is one row of weaving left to add, PAUSE Gingerly, you thread the strands of sweetgrass into the basket, and when you finish, one of the women takes the basket and finishes the edges. PAUSE When the basket is complete, it is gently placed in the center of all the women, and each one gives it a blessing. PAUSE Take a moment and thank the women of the tribe as you ready to leave. PAUSE You begin to walk away when the woman with the lively eyes who helped you start the basket hands the basket to you. PAUSE Gratitude swells within you, and you thank the woman, who seems to understand you. LONG PAUSE And, then imagine a vase appearing that can hold all the beautiful thought flowers while you relax and rest. LONG PAUSE Now, see yourself in a room where you can safely put away the vase, and gently close the door. LONG PAUSE The thoughts are safe, for now, tucked in the vase until you’re ready. Now, you can turn your attention to you. PAUSE In this moment, being ever present with your mind, body, and soul, envision a warm mist collecting at the end of the bed. PAUSE And staying with the mist, you feel its gentle heat skimming the bottoms of your feet. PAUSE And after a few moments, the mist moves slowly toward your feet and toes, blanketing them with a gentle warmth and deep, healing relaxation. PAUSE The mist warms and heals the strains on your feet and toes, bringing you comfort. PAUSE After a few moments, the mist moves to the ankles, encasing them in soft heat that eases the pressure on and around them. PAUSE The mist then travels to the calves sinking into the tight muscles and releasing them, relaxing you even more deeply. PAUSE When the mist reaches your knees, it forms a slowly spinning circle of warmth, healing and easing away any tension or pain. PAUSE As the calming warmth touches the thighs, both of the legs unwind into relaxation and melt into the bed. PAUSE Now, take in a cleansing breath and feel the mist as it dissolves into the hips and lower back. PAUSE Here, the mist takes its time gently massaging every muscle and wrapping them in mellow warmth. PAUSE As you breathe, each breath Intermingles with the mist and loosens the lower back and abdomen. PAUSE After a few moments, the mist moves up to the mid back, gently swirling through it, unlocking any tension and calming the muscles completely. PAUSE The mist softly rolls through the back to the core, opening it, and freeing it from any stress or tension. PAUSE Gently flowing into the chest, the warm mist expands the chest, filling it with deep, wonderful relaxation. PAUSE The mist slides into the upper back between and around the shoulder blades. As the mist gently penetrates the muscles, it takes the pressure off the back with gentle warmth. PAUSE The warming cloud settles around the neck and shoulders for just a minute, to soak into them and soothe them. PAUSE As the warmth rests in your neck, it unwinds the knots ever so gently and completely. PAUSE The mist moves up to the jaw, loosening it, so the jaw lightly drops in a wonderful release. PAUSE Now, envision the mild warmth caressing your cheeks and forehead, softly rubbing away the tension and stress.. PAUSE And the caressing moves to the top and back of your head with all the muscles giving into to the healing warmth of the mist. LONG PAUSE Let the stillness take over as you go deep inside, with tension dissolving and peace as your guide. LONG PAUSE Follow the peace as it spreads from head to toe, relaxing your shoulders and your back, your body as a whole. LONG PAUSE Now, envision a rosebud, straight and tall, waiting to blossom with its red velvet petals. PAUSE The rosebud travels deep to your inner garden; it reaches the heart where it wants to get started. PAUSE Slowly, the petals peek out, just a little at first, until the rose opens with a splendid burst. PAUSE Love cascades in your heart, when the rose bursts forth. You can feel it growing in your body all the way through your core. PAUSE You notice your skin takes on the fragrance of rose, and the feeling of love supports your repose. PAUSE And, intuitively, you know that if you touch someone’s hand you’ll transfer the love and feel it expand. PAUSE And then before your eyes, a purple aster blooms and journeys to your heart bringing faith and wisdom. PAUSE And from the aster’s center wisdom and faith are released, and a sense of trusting yourself more comes on with some peace. PAUSE So, take a few minutes and dive deeply inward, you hear “I trust myself” coming to you as a whisper. PAUSE Now, recognize the flowers of love and faith, and notice a daffodil appears gifting you with more traits. PAUSE Yellow daffodils shine light on what is the truth. They also bring forgiveness which can be freeing to you. PAUSE So the daffodil lights up the heart with what is honest and real and cozies up to the rose and aster creating an inner garden you feel. PAUSE So in a moment, the truth of your life becomes clear, and with love, you forgive mistakes and let go with no fear. PAUSE Now, white edelweiss joins in, filling up some heart spaces; it’s a flower of courage and not found in many places. PAUSE As it blooms, you know you’ve been a tower of courage, and you thank the edelweiss and let go of any worry. PAUSE You pause for a moment, gazing at the garden of your heart feeling the power of the flowers and what they impart. PAUSE Then, a marigold appears with orange petals in layers sparking creativity in you that you want to share. PAUSE In your mind’s eye, there’s a painting you paint, the colors swirl together and ignite your creativity once again. PAUSE Then a rose in a yellow that blossoms quite fair Fills your heart with joy, and then some to spare. PAUSE And it’s followed by a lily with peace in its aura bestowing its calm which, of course, you adore. PAUSE Now, your heart is healing with a rich flower bouquet that shares its gifts to ensure you’re more than okay. PAUSE And with gratitude abounding, you wrap up your bouquet, you know it’s there blossoming and ready for you, any day. PAUSE… Notice the bubbles of black, The mini clouds of grey, Spreading across with worry, And stress. PAUSE… Notice it all there, Encapsulated in your mind, This gorgeous, magical entity of color. LONG PAUSE… Now breathe out, Over and over again, And notice the movement of your mind, Slow down, Lighten, And calm. LONG PAUSE… Breathe out, And notice the colors that were sparkling within, The colors that were painted inside, Are lightening, Dissolving, And disappearing. Slowly, Piece by piece, Shade by shade, Drifting away from your mind, And into the nothingness of the night. LONG PAUSE… Look upon your mind from afar, Your body melted deep into your bed, Safe within your sheets. PAUSE… Listen for it, The gentle sounds of silence, Coming from your calm mind. LONG PAUSE Now, allow yourself to relax even more deeply, and as you continue breathing in cool, comfortable air, feel your body calm and become lighter, almost weightless in the sheets. LONG PAUSE The sheets are cool and crisp to the touch and they feel wonderful as they brush against your skin. LONG PAUSE Now, imagine a breeze with just a tiny hint of a chill lightly tumbling over your body, bringing your body to a comfortable temperature to sleep. PAUSE And the breeze lifts you ever so slightly off the bed so that it cools the expanse of your back before gently laying you back on your sheets. PAUSE And while the cool breeze softly blows, imagine a small mountain stream filled with rocks and cool water running alongside your bed. PAUSE After a moment, you move into the stream, allowing the cool water to flow over your feet and ankles, and you’re pleasantly surprised how comfortable this makes you feel. PAUSE While standing in the stream, you reach down and grab a stone that’s smooth and naturally cool from basking beneath the water. PAUSE You hold the stone stone in your hand, and feel its refreshing chill soothe your body. PAUSE You touch the stone against your face and chest, and its smooth surface feels restorative and peaceful. PAUSE A moment later, you reach down and cup your hands, so the cool stream water flows through them. PAUSE You cup your hands again, and this time let the cool water run down your arms. PAUSE Now, imagine as you are cooling off in the stream, that a clear glass and pitcher filled with water appear. PAUSE The cool water has cucumber and lemon slices and ice cubes floating in it. PAUSE So, you pour yourself a glass of the rejuvenating liquid and savor it as it slides down your throat, gently cooling you from the inside. PAUSE You sit on a large rock that juts out of the stream, a rock that’s nestled under the shady canopy of several oak trees. PAUSE And while relaxing on your rock, you dangle your feet in the water and sip the chilled drink. Your whole body feels at peace. PAUSE After a while, the breeze kicks up again, and you can feel it gently lifting you out of the stream. PAUSE The breeze flows in and around you, preserving the beautiful coolness of the stream and the icy drink. PAUSE And when the breeze brings you back to your bedroom, it gently sets you back in your bed. PAUSE And while resting on your sheets, you notice that the breeze is still there, blowing gently across you like a fan tinged with coolness. PAUSE You feel relaxed and comfortable and your whole body is ready to sink into a deep, satisfying sleep. PAUSE You can breathe in the cool air from the mountain stream at any time, and feel the water gently flowing over you, finding all the comfort and peace you need to sleep well and be well. LONG PAUSE Then take your ball and toss it high into the sky, where a passing cloud catches it, and sails it away. LONG PAUSE Now, take a moment to center yourself and breathe. And as you exhale deeply, entirely, snuggle up in your bed and get as comfortable as you can. LONG PAUSE It starts with the number one. See if you can imagine it, the number one, rising from the shadows, standing before you. PAUSE Your number one reaches up to the sky, tall and powerful, like the tree of life, the ancient tree of wisdom. PAUSE And as you take a breath, the one, now an ancient tree, grows before you. Its branches stretch and bend and swirl, while its leaves gently unfurl. PAUSE The leaves, like iridescent jewels, glitter in the sun and radiate the power of beginnings for you. PAUSE Now take a moment and notice the trunk of the tree. It’s the color of acorns and owls and clay. The colors of Mother Earth. PAUSE Now, take a minute and breathe in and observe how the tree, plants itself in the ground, unrolling its unseen roots. PAUSE See if you can imagine seeing roots wind and wend, tangle and untangle, holding firm the tree with the wisdom of the past coiled within them. PAUSE Take a pause for just a moment, and gaze at the tree, letting its secret images unfold to you in the bark. PAUSE See if you can imagine a silvery sword appearing in the bark, sharp and powerful. PAUSE As your eyes follow the sword, from handle to tip, you feel its gifts being shared. The sword shines with mental clarity for you. PAUSE Now, see if you can picture the sword spinning, transforming into a golden chalice, that sparkles in the sunlight. PAUSE The chalice moves you, filling your heart with feeling and inspiration and opening your intuition. PAUSE And imagine now that the chalice shifts, and transforms into a magic wand. PAUSE You reach out to touch the wand, and its energy dissolves into you, energy that opens you to act. PAUSE And imagine, now, that the wand trembles, changing its shape into a golden coin. PAUSE Then, if you can, picture yourself moving your hand over the coin, feeling its smoothness and taking in its grounding power. PAUSE Now see if you can open your heart to accept these powerful gifts and to hold them deep in your heart, deep in your soul. PAUSE As you take in these gifts, you step back from the tree to gaze in gratitude at all of it, from its roots to the tips of its leaves. PAUSE There, before you, a tree both old and wise and new and green. Your tree, your number one, blossoming with possibility. PAUSE Now, see if you can imagine silver light covering the tree, silver light like a mirror that reflects your radiant image. PAUSE As you look at your reflection, you see that you are all that is in and around this tree. This tree that grew from the number one is you. PAUSE Slowly, the tree fades, and while it dissolves into the ether, you feel its energies and wisdom grow in you. You are the tree. You are the One. They’re telling you why you’re off, Why you’re feeling weary. PAUSE Your hand is on your heart, The whisper is calling you, To look discomfort in the eyes, So it can move right through. PAUSE So feel into all that’s off, Be brave as you sit with it. You may discover about yourself, Something that’s hard to admit. PAUSE But have no fear, you are loved, And all will be okay. Learn everything you need to now, So you can clear it away. LONG PAUSE Now give yourself some love and grace, As you gather up it all. And with each breath, let it out, All the big and small. PAUSE Breathe and gather, Breathe and release. Breathe the matter, Breathe more peace. LONG PAUSE Now float my dear, within this space, That you have opened wide. LONG PAUSE… Now feel as the hand of love, Slowly moves down your left arm, Your right arm, And then gently glides all the way Down your back. PAUSE… Relax deeper. Breathe deeper. And surrender to sleep. PAUSE… The warm hand of love now caresses your hips, And travels down your right leg, Your left leg, And ends her journey holding your feet. Let your eyes get heavier, Unclench your jaw and relax your cheeks. Lower your shoulders, Relax your arms and your hands. Soften your stomach, And feel your legs and your feet get heavier and melt into deeper relaxation. Feel your body here...warm. Relaxed. Soft. PAUSE… Imagine yourself as a little girl. Look at her hair, her body, her eyes. Notice her position, her attitude, her expressions. Take it all in...this vision of yourself as a child. What sounds do you hear her make? What scent is around her? What is her demeanor? PAUSE… Now see if you can imagine a giant bubble on one side of her. A dark, scary, smokey bubble. As you look closer at it, you recognize what’s inside...sadness, pain, hurt and fear. So many dark memories inside of this bubble. Maybe you’re seeing within it flashes of those dark memories, mini movies from your childhood. Or maybe you’re simply seeing the emotions floating within it and feeling their heaviness. The disappointment, rejection, or fear. Relax your body and just observe this bubble. PAUSE... This incredible little girl created stories about each one of those memories or emotions. Maybe she created a story called I’m not good enough. Or I’m not worthy. Or I don’t matter. Or even I can’t trust others. Or I can’t have everything I want. She’s not wrong for doing this...it’s what all of us do. But there are stories she created that are not allowing you to live as vibrant as you would like. PAUSE… So take a deep, cleansing breath in, And as you exhale, release the heaviness of these stories, PAUSE... And then reach out to this little girl, And embrace her in your arms, holding her close with love...pure love. And watch as that dark, smokey bubble diminishes, little by little. Hug her. Love her. Hold her. Accept her. And watch the stories evaporate away. LONG PAUSE… Now, take a step back and observe her again. This beautiful little girl. Now imagine a big, bright bubble on the other side of her. This bubble is filled with laughter, creativity, dreams and love.
