Jake Bobo did it! An undrafted wide receiver we were all rooting for actually pulled it off. But even though Bobo pulled through, there were some other cuts who we wanted to make the 53-man roster. Drew Lock has played well this preseason and even has some fans wondering if he could be better than Geno. But is there anything that Drew could do at this point to play his way into the starting lineup? Who else could play their way into a roster spot in the game coming up against the Packers? One UDFA wide receiver was highly touted coming out of high school and had a nice showing against the Cowboys. Despite some early mistakes from the Seahawks, we saw some shining moments from Boye Mafe, Devin Bush, and some of the rookies on the defensive line. We also saw poise from Drew Lock as he was able to come back from a 0-10 deficit to take the lead before handing over the reigns to Holton Ahlers. This 2023 season is about to begin! So what do we expect from our Seattle Seahawks this season? First off, the Seahawks have a much different quarterback situation this year than they do last year. We talk about Geno Smith and how our expectations have shifted since this time last year. One of the reasons why we're optimistic about Geno is because of all of the players in the supporting cast. Seattle has a potential star at running back with Kenneth Walker to go with a pair of receivers who don't get nearly enough credit nationally. Reflecting back to last year's defensive performance, there is one area where we want to see a repeat and one thing that has to chance for the team to have success. If the Seahawks can keep their sack numbers around where they were last year, that would be a huge help. But if they can't rebound from being the third worst team against the run, then it's going to be another long year defensively. After the break, we talk about our expectations for where the team finishes this season. Who are their biggest challengers in the NFC? As excited as we were initially with players from the first two days, we became more intrigued by the late round players based off of their interviews. Jerrick Reed talked about giving up video games to dive into the playbook while Olu Oluwatimi talked about the transition from a pro style offense playing at Michigan. In the second half of the show, we talk about how the Russell Wilson trade turned out for the Seahawks now that all of the picks are in.
