Live & UnCatfished: It's a Love-Fest!
With Jamal Adams out due to 'injury,' Seahawks fans got to see Julian Love go up against a quarterback he got to play twice a year during his time with the Giants. Love's two interceptions helped keep the Eagles from putting up points in the fourth quarter and allowed Drew Lock the opportunity to pick up a stat. Ken Walker helped lead the way on a touchdown drive where Seattle just kept running and running, while Lock aired it out to DK and JSN to close out an emotional comeback. What If?...The Seahawks Slide Stops Here
What if we STOP IT!? What if we stop the slide? What if we stop the tush push? What if we play an entire game? What if high paid stars get benched??? What if we don't stop believin' in our Seattle Seahawks!? Mr. Phil asks the tough questions and Brandan and Clinton preview this upcoming Monday Night Football match between two teams that are on their own kinda slides. Who comes out on top? What do we predict? Tune in and check out the most unique Seahawks preview show in the multiverse!
Ep 426426: The Coach's Attitude Has Shifted
Just one month ago the Seahawks were 6-3 and looking like a relative lock for the playoffs, and considering the Niners had also lost three games to that point it looked like the division title was also within range. One month later, the division title is out of reach, Seattle has a losing record and the playoffs are in question. A week ago, Pete was on the radio talking as if the playoffs were a certainty and this week he's blowing off questions about whether or not his message is getting through to players. What will it take for this team to take a turn? How the Seahawks play against Philadelphia may well determine how the rest of the season plays out. Can they cut out the 'easy' mistakes from some of the previous weeks? The Eagles defensive line may be a formidable force, but a former Seahawks defensive coach is struggling with a similar problem that Coach Hurtt has been concerned with this year. Let's say things work out over these next few weeks. Is there one thing to possibly look forward to that a playoff berth can provide? We believe there is. Part of the reason is because Kyle Shanahan needs to Do Better along with a Bay Area reporter who seemingly couldn't wait to pile on DK Metcalf rather than approach the end of the game with any kind of objectivity about the role of one Niners player at the end of the game. Better at life honors go out to a PNW company for bringing us into the future and to a Seahawks player who was honored for his work in the community. 2023 Podcast Pick'em League Support the show Get in the Flock! 3 IN, 3 OUT: All is Not Lost
Clinton and Brandan discuss the latest loss to the 49ers, the big blow ups and the micro-moments of hope that have Clinton screaming that this season is NOT over and to not lose faith in our Seahawks. However, there are some significant issues to overcome that showed up in the loss to the Niners. Can Pete Carroll shake up his guys on defense, or sit down the guys who aren't getting the job done? Live & UnCatfished: Seahawks vs 49ers Postgame Reaction
Heading into the second game against the 49ers, there was a sense of impending doom, especially when the word went out that Geno may not play. Early on in the game Drew Lock rallied the Seahawks offense and even had Seattle up by 3 points on the Niners. Between the Seahawks defense getting exposed and continued struggles on the offense on third down, it made it difficult to come back once they fell behind. What were some of the biggest areas of concern coming out of this game, and is there still an opportunity to cheer for a possible playoff run? We react following the Seahawks 28-16 loss to the 49ers. PNW Prop Stars: The JSN Progression
Feeling emboldened from last week's offensive showing, Wilson, Adam, and Clinton all lean into some more favorable Seahawks bets and props... but is it a trap? While Adam and Wilson continue to bet on our kicker, Clinton seeks overs and for the progression of JSN to keep on keeping on. And for the first time in PNW history, all three Fail Mary's come in at exactly +1200 ... that's gotta be a sign, right? Support the show Get in the Flock! Can we avoid the Re-Pete of Thanksgiving? Our Seahawks best be much more prepared for this rematch vs. our storming rivals, the San Francisco 49ers. They're coming in HOT and we are on a big losing streak. Can Christmas come early in Santa Clara for our Seahawks? Ep 425425: History is on the line for the Seahawks
The Seahawks have a couple of major milestones on the line and history is on the Seahawks side. Considering the way the San Francisco 49ers have been playing, it would make a victory that much sweeter if past trends hold true. However, if we can't count on historical trends, what would need to change for the Seahawks to be able to compete at the 49ers current level? Is coaching or personnel more of the problem, particularly when we focus on the defense? We take a look back at the Cowboys game and talk about some of the moments that still stick with us a week later. NFL officiating as a whole continues to be a topic of conversation, especially after a big call went against the Chiefs in a game that helped the Packers join the playoff picture. A Seahawks blog can do better for suggesting that it's time to move on from one of the Seahawks most prolific players and Rich Eisen left a key team out of the playoff conversation this past week. Better at life honors go out to a legendary rock band and a podcast that provided some insight into some of Washington state lore. 2023 Podcast Pick'em League Support the show Get in the Flock! 3 IN, 3 OUT: S.O.S.S. - Save Our Seahawks Season
In this week's recap of the Cowboys game, we discuss what it might take to keep the great, ditch the lame, and save our Seahawks season. Who gets the out for the final play of the game? Who put Seattle in position to get the victory when they were up by 8 points in the third quarter? Or the more important question, what kind of preventive maintenance needs to be done on the 3D printer, while we go through a drought of MVC trophy creation? Live & UnCatfished: Seahawks vs Dallas Postgame Reaction
As one area of the team seems to improve and play well, another one takes a step back or fails to make plays in key moments. It's a story of nearly all the losses from this season. The officials made us all know that they were there on the field, too. For a good stretch of the game, we expected to see a flag on the field after every play. Maybe, in part, due to the two most heavily penalized teams playing one another. Were the improvements on offense enough to hold out hope the Seahawks can close out the seasons strong, or did this game tell us all we need to know about who this team is this season? PNW Prop Stars: All Dak or The Seahawks Strike Back
The boys are back . . . but perhaps a little broken? Wilson goes conservative, Clinton is clamoring for a comeback and Adam is starring in a hobo-shack inspired interpretation of Interstellar. What If?...The Seahawks are still ALIVE!
Could this be another LONG Thursday night for our Seahawks? What if we create a mix tape 90s style so good we can beat these Cowboys? Maybe we can relax our eyes and enjoy a more complete game on both side of the football. What will it take for our Seahawks to get our groove back and capture a W in Jerry World? Can the Seahawks press their luck? Will the price be right? Or will we see a potential chain reaction this week. Support the show Get in the Flock! Ep 424424: The NFL's best are good at ONE thing the Seahawks are avoiding
Fans are frustrated and looking for answers after back-to-back losses to division rivals. With the prospects of a playoff push now dimming, should the Seahawks start the firing spree? With that type of move unlikely to happen, we dig into some of the statistics of the NFL's best offensive teams and look at some of the ways the best offenses in the league are scoring the most points, leading in DVOA and also creating explosive plays. Plus, it's something the Seahawks might actually be good at if they just choose to do more of it. If the Seahawks are going to maintain their playoff hopes, one win over the next three games should keep them in the running. The matchup against the Dallas Cowboys may present their best opportunity. The downside is that Dallas has been one of the NFL's best teams playing at home this season. They've been destroying bad teams on their home turf. If the Seahawks truly are bad, this Thursday's game should tell the story. The Arizona Cardinals didn't do anything to help our Seahawks with the Rams spot in the NFC West standings. We also may be seeing why they were ok with moving on from Josh Dobbs who had a disaster of a performance against the Chicago Bears. A pair of writers from the Athletic and a legendary actor find themselves in the crosshairs to Do Better. We close with a discussion on why both society and YouTube Premium are better at life than Skip Bayless. 2023 Podcast Pick'em League Support the show Get in the Flock! Live & UnCatfished: Stewing in Waldron's Cauldron
Earlier in the season, we were overlooking some of offensive coordinator Shane Waldron's play calling issues in the game. In part, it was because the Seahawks were doing well on their scripted plays earlier in the game. With that no longer working, we're left with an offense that continually stalls because they abandon the run game in favor of passing to the perimeter. Are the Seahawks a bad team? Ep 423423: A Thanksgiving feast…and the NFC West lead
It's a short week, which means there isn't a lot of time to dwell over a loss to the Rams. And why are we dwelling on a loss to the Rams anyway? It's not like we haven't experienced multiple losses to stupid inferior Rams teams in a season before anyway. Even though the Seahawks defense held Stafford and the Rams to just 17 points, is there some blame to be shared by that position group? Shane Waldron seems to struggle situationally, but does it mean he should be fired? We talk about our preferred alternatives. Even with the loss, the Seahawks are in prime position to take over the NFC West with two matchups against the division rival San Francisco 49ers in the next three weeks. This will be a big challenge and there are similar concerns in this matchup as we saw with the game against the Baltimore Ravens earlier this year. We get into the areas of the game the Seahawks are going to have to improve if they're going to come out ahead versus Frisco. After the game this week, Geno Smith talked about not getting a play in via his headset. It was part of the reason they chose to run the football in the final seconds. Was there really an issue? Did a play get called or not? One Seahawks defender in particular gets called out to Do Better for a major penalty and Better at Life honors go to a pair of Seahawks for some exceptional moments in Sunday's game against the Rams. 2023 Podcast Pick'em League Support the show Get in the Flock! Live & UnCatfished: Yet another annoying one
Another game against the Rams, and Pete Carroll and the Seahawks find yet another annoying way to lose. It had set up for a storybook ending. Geno Smith, after taking a hit from Aaron Donald in the third quarter, shed the tape and ice from around his elbow to come in for the final drive of the game. He dealt strikes to Tyler and DK to put the team in position for a great ending (despite a dismal second half of football). Unfortunately, it didn't work out. PNW Prop Stars: Betting on a DK Metcalf explosion
A healthy-ish Stafford, a fully healed Cooper Kupp... and the boys just want to talk DK, K9 and a man named Mafe! Sure McVay has had our number, but you can imagine if he hadn't! This week on PNW Prop Stars we're laying out our favorite nine bets, props, and parlays for Seahawks at Rams and many of us are feeling these DK Metcalf props! Ep 422422: Whose House? The Communal House!
The Seahawks got the win against the Washington Commanders, but did they get "back to basics" like players and coaches said the team would? What do we think the team meant by basics? The running backs combined for about 30 touches, but Geno Smith also threw nearly 50 passes. Maybe getting back to basics is winning the turnover battle and really taking care of the ball on offense. Because those things were also true. Will they be able to keep it going as they travel to LA to take on the Rams? Matthew Stafford is back after being sidelined with a thumb injury. Will the Seahawks defense make an adjustment if the Rams QB isn't able to push the ball down field? Or will McVay continue to have his way against Pete Carroll and the Seahawks defense? With the way Pete was stewing about the loss, it feels like it's time that he'll dig deep to get this win. The Arizona Cardinals got a win in Kyler Murray's return to the team, but did they give away the better quarterback option for next to nothing in the trade with the Vikings? NFL and their All-22 deserve a call out for Do Better along with an anonymous sports betting site. Better at Life honors go to DK Metcalf and to a group of Flockers. 2023 Podcast Pick'em League Support the show Get in the Flock! What If?... The Seahawks Roast the Rams
The rack, the roast, even the shepherd's pie... We dive into all the ways the Seattle Seahawks might cook the Los Angeles Lambs (Rams) this Sunday. Last time Stafford was on fire and the world met a boy named Puka. But this Seahawks team is quite different than what the Rams saw Week 1. 3 IN, 3 OUT: The Seahawks Hidden Heroes
Who were the Seahawks hidden heroes from Sunday's win against the Washington Commanders? Clinton and Adam break down the micro moments from the game and discuss some of their overall feelings after going back through and watching the game again. Of course, "it wasn't all roses" as Clinton often says -- we get into some of those moments, too. How was the screen game a factor versus Washington, and did it come at a cost or compliment the run game? Damien Lewis finds his way onto the highlight reel. Live & UnCatfished: Seahawks Lack Consistency Against Commanders
The Seahawks defense played well for at least a half. The Seahawks offence played well for about a half. But neither played well togehter at the same points during the game. It was a wierd one. So even though the team came out ahead, there are still some questions and criticisms about Geno Smith, Shane Waldron, and what is missing on defense. PNW Prop Stars: A Washington Bonanza
Game 9 and we've got 9 top bets, parlays, and props for Seahawks vs. Commanders just for you... and you. While Clinton believes in a 2nd year wideout from Penn St., Brandan goes with a "scarier" WR option. The boy prince, Wilson, sees bounce back and back to basics meaning it's time for K9 to re-wind to earlier season success. And some how, some way, we've got 2 Fail Mary bets starring 1 Seahawks TE. 421: The Geno Smith Apology Tour
Win or loss (even when we get mullered), this show has been about coming on each and every week to talk about what we saw from the previous week. Even a few days out, a loss like this is frustrating. We discuss the frustration, because one team clearly had a plan for what they wanted to do and the other didn't. Or maybe they did have a plan, but it was completely out of order. Why does the rest of the team owe Geno Smith an apology? Adam breaks down, drive-by-drive, where the fault lies in how each drive got killed. One of our long-time listeners calls in to ask what we'd need to see from Geno Smith to know when it is time to move on in the middle of the season. There is a distinction between elite, very good, and everyone else and the pieces around the player that can have an impact. With the Commanders up next, it's a get-right game and Seattle needs to show they can get the run game going. With Geno among the top quarterbacks when running play action, the best opportunity for the Seahawks to finish strong is to do it with Ken Walker and Zach Charbonnet sharing the workload. But Washington could apply pressure to this Seattle defense based on the number of offensive weapons they have. The Seahawks weren't the only NFC West team with a limited amount of offensive production this week. With their backup quarterbacks playing, the Cardinals and Rams struggled to score points. Can Sean McVay get Carson Wentz to return to his former MVP form? A curse wheel and the ex-wife of Earl Thomas need to do better. Better at life honors go out to a team for closing out an historic rivalry in a fun way and for all the 12s hanging in there after a rough game. 2023 Podcast Pick'em League Support the show Get in the Flock! 3 IN, 3 OUT: 99 Problems and Geno Ain't One
Three positive moments from the Seahawks loss to the Ravens? Is it possible? It may be hard to believe, but we've dug into the nooks and crannies and found enough positive moments to balance out the negative. K9 joined the left side of the line in giving up a 3-on-1 sack. But that wasn't the only time that Charles Cross was on the OUT side. Boye Mafe and Jordyn Brooks were a couple standouts on an otherwise rough defensive day. Support the show Get in the Flock! By the end of a game like this one, the only thing you really want to say is, "make it stop!" The national feed even cut away with around 10 minutes left on the game clock because they wanted to take pity on viewers. Yet, here we re-live some of the moments as we stuck around for the end of the game and stuck around for the aftermath to talk about where things went so badly. Ep 420420: Seahawks boost the defense at the trade deadline
The Seahawks made a move at the trade deadline to acquire interior defensive lineman Leonard Williams. Did they give up too much considering some of the other moves made around the league for defensive line? We contrast the move with the 49ers acquisition of Chase Young. The move may have come at the perfect time after watching the Browns attack the middle of the field in both the run and the screen game. The defense came up big when they needed to though thanks to the (intentional?) head assist from Jamal Adams. Which Baltimore Ravens team will the Seahawks face this week? One that dominated the Lions just a couple weeks ago? The one that looked like they barely needed to try hard on offense against the Cardinals? Or will they finally be worn down after multiple road trips in the last few weeks? It's going to be another big test for the defense to face off against Lamar, Gus Edwards and tight end Mark Andrews. The Rams are continuing to make their way to the bottom of the NFC West after a big loss to the Cowboys and there is uncertainty around Matt Stafford moving forward with a thumb injury. But even with those concerns, Adam still likes the Rams to beat the Packers this upcoming weekend in our picks segment. A couple of national reporters need to do better based on a couple of articles written this past week. Of course we get into the INs, OUTs, and the BrandIN along with what YOU said in the Discord. All that plus of course our very real 3D printed MVC - most valuable cranny will be dished out! Live & UnCatfished: Another Geno Smith Stat
The Seahawks put points up early against the NFL's best defense so far this season. It looked like they could've run away with the game early. However, the offense slowed, DK Metcalf and Geno Smith failed to connect on nine different passes, and penalties killed multiple drives. Some fourth quarter heroics helped put the game away, though. A Seahawks header from Jamal Adams to Julian Love helped set up Geno for a fourth quarter comeback and the defense closed it out. We discuss whether the Seahawks run defense was exposed, and the Seahawks clear offensive approach against Cleveland. Support the show Get in the Flock! PNW Prop Stars: Can Geno Outperform Vs. Browns?
After going 8 out of 9 last week with our "regular" bets and props the boys are back in town and we're throwing down the throwback gauntlet vs. this stingy, yet sporadic(???), Browns defense. Adam wears the crown this week and leads us out this week predicting a fast start for our offense. Wilson is convinced a Browns star is gonna eat, at least a little, and Clinton is still fan-boying over Noah Fant props that have proven to make him some cheddar! Support the show Get in the Flock! Cliff Avril on Frank Clark's Return to the Seahawks
Frank Clark has signed with the Seahawks to help fill the void created by Uchenna Nwosu's injury. Can Clark be a difference maker at this point in his NFL career? Cliff Avril joins the show to offer his thoughts and to talk about the Ultimate Seattle Seahawks Fan Room offered through Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Seattle/Lake Union. Before the interview, Adam and Phil join the show to talk about the Clark signing. Support the show Get in the Flock! What If?... The Seahawks Throw It Back!
The 1990s called and they want ... more Bobo??? We go back in time with six rad categories that help us preview this show in a truly unique way. What "Late Fees" must we avoid? Can Clint Hurtt "Dial Up" the heat on PJ Walker? And what kind of "Alternative Grunge" sounds can our offense create to mitigate the Myles and his monsters along with the Browns defensive line? 419: Boye Mafe Needs to Stay on His Feet
Despite three turnovers against the Arizona Cardinals, the Seahawks were able to pull off a 20-10 victory over their division rivals. Pete Carroll didn't sound as concerned about the turnovers as he did about the one play of the game that Boye Mafe couldn't run down the quarterback. He made sure to mention it in front of the media multiple times. The Seahawks are going to need Mafe with Nwosu going down to injury (we found out after recording that Frank Clark is returning to Seattle). A pair of rookie receivers each had a touchdown against the Cards, but does it mean that it is time to consider shopping DK near the trade deadline? With the Cleveland Browns coming into town, Geno Smith is going to be watching out for Myles Garrett. Seattle will need to find an answer to the Browns pass rush to help avoid turning the ball over. The Browns offense has been counting on those defensive plays to help out backup QB P.J. Walker. In the second half of the show, we talk more about the Seahawks offense. Adam offers up his picks for the week after hitting a total of four games last week. The Dolphins and a random 49ers fan need to do better for their antics. Finally, better at life honors go out to a long-time Eagles defensive lineman and to the story behind this week's 12 flag raiser. 2023 Podcast Pick'em League Support the show Get in the Flock! Seahawks Key Stats: Does it Matter OR Doesn't Matter?
Adam is joined by Phil to touch on some Seahawks statistics through the first seven weeks of the season. They hit on some of the recent defensive statistics, Geno Smith's rate of "turnover worthy plays," the inability to run screens on offense, and how the Seahawks can adapt with the loss of a key defender. 3 IN, 3 OUT: A Beautifully Ugly Seahawks Win
Our Seahawks moved to 4-2 taking down the red birds and we're here to set the record straight that ANOTHER dominant defensive performance makes this the most beautiful "ugly" win. Some Seahawks took souls. Some Seahawks played blocking roles. Some Seahawks failed to contain while some Seahawks kept making it rain 1st downs. We get into it all, the nooks, the crannies, the BrandIN, the MVC and of course we hear from you, From the Flock on this week's show. Support the show Get in the Flock! Live & UnCatfished: The Witherspoon Game That Wasn't
Seattle's defense was, once again, smothering!!! Three turnovers kept this one from being a HUGE blowout. Devon Witherspoon would've had a huge game if the refs didn't call back all of his biggest plays. Brandan and Adam talk LIVE about all the good, all the Spoon, all the Adams, Wagz, Brooks, and oh yeah.... MORE BOBO!!!!!!! Support the show Get in the Flock! PNW Prop Stars: Leaning on the Seahawks Defense
Defense wins CLAMpionships and this week both Wilson and Adam dial up some Seahawks defensive props to bank on. While those boys go defense, Clinton seeks refuge in an ole reliable TE bet he believes will hit with ease. Then there's K9 and JSN - tune in to hear how the boys play these props. Ep 418418: Expectations set for a string of defensive performances
The Seahawks offense fell short against a Bengals defense that was smashing up against a second-string offensive line. Geno Smith missed several throws, some due to pressure, and some due to a subpar performance. We go through some of the points of the game that appeared to be the quarterback's fault and other parts where blame could be pushed toward coaching, penalties, play calling and other execution issues. Does DK Metcalf deserve any blame and we wonder if he's hearing any of the criticism that is building for some unnecessary antics? With the loss behind them, the Seahawks head back home for a stretch of two home games. The division rival Arizona Cardinals are only 1-5 on the season, but they've been playing tough and shouldn't be taken lightly (even in spite of their recent effort against the Rams). We discuss some of the players to watch for and the expectations for our Seahawks. Looking ahead to the next few weeks, what are some of the expectations for the Seahawks defense? Adam drops the average number of points he expects this defense to allow over the next few weeks. If it happens, we're going to be taking about a solid record and a defense that should be viewed among the best in the league going into the second half of the season. A mouse and a segment of sports media going after a fan need to do better. Better at life honors go out to the defenders of our quarterback and a segment of the flock who met up in London. 2023 Podcast Pick'em League Support the show Get in the Flock! What If?...The Seahawks shuffle the Cards
Arizona is scrappy but are they good? The Protector of the Seahawks mutliverse - Mr. Phil - asks the big questions as we head into our week 7, game 6 matchup vs. the red birds. What if we shuffle the cards on our offensive line? What if one offensive and defensive unit stand out? What if we can re-establish our calling card vs these desert birds? We discuss six different topics heading into this Seahawks vs Cardinals matchup. Support the show Get in the Flock! 3 IN, 3 OUT: Tight End Love is Blind
Watching back through the game and looking into the nooks and crannies, it's hard to figure out who disliked using tight ends against the Bengals more. Shane the Main Brain limited their ability to hit the field and, when they were there, Geno Smith was throwing to the outside receivers or choosing to take the ball himself. K9 wears an out for his blocking skills and Julian Love helped to save the day on special teams. Support the show Get in the Flock! Live & UnCatfished: Seahawks vs Bengals Postgame Reaction
Our Seahawks drop a defensive battle to the Bengals, but it was an enjoyable defensive display by the Seattle in the second half. Tune in as we reacted live following the game to vent some frustrations and the feeling that we left a lot on the field. Geno struggled, the make-shift o-Line finally buckled, and we wasted a stellar day by our defense. At least the Niners lost. Support the show Get in the Flock!
