S3 Ep 127127: Kick Shame to the Curb
#127: Kick Shame to the Curb In this mindset episode, we are diving into all of the extra emotions we are carrying around during this time of isolation. I am hearing dozens of messages from people who are feeling all kinds of self-shame, doubt, fear in general, and fear of the judgment of others. All kinds of statements of, "I am not doing enough", "I should be doing x, y, z., etc." Let's dive into all the topics that are holding us down while we are in the isolation of COVID-19. In this episode, we discuss: Brené Brown said: Shame is a painful emotion that responds to a sense of failure to attain some ideal state. Shame encompasses the entire self. Shame is the feeling that "I am bad". Self-shame means that we are continually feeling that we are bad…and all that stems from the way we judge ourselves, hence "self". We are the only ones who can change these words that we are telling ourselves. It takes work and commitment and freeing ourselves from these "labels" will help to free us from feeling stuck and improve our self of worth. Brene Brown said: Guilt involves a negative evaluation of a specific behavior. Guilt is, "I did something bad." Feeling shame and guilt during a time of isolation where we have so little control, actually no control over what is happening in our external world is setting us up for failure. We must take back control over the things that we can control, and that is ourselves. Our choices, our actions, our decisions, and how we choose to respond to what we have right to deal with right now. Carrying all of these other emotions is not helping us deal with this time of isolation. Give these emotions a voice, and watch the shame disappear. Giving shame a voice is the only way to move through it and release it. We are the biggest project we will ever take on. It is our responsibility to make ourselves a priority, especially during this time. What if instead of being hard on ourselves, we dedicate this time to working ON ourselves like we are a top priority in our life because we are. We can come out of this time with a whole new set of life skills, habits and rituals in place. When we focus on taking radical responsibility for ourselves, we own what is ours to own, and ultimately, we become more powerful. This is how we step into our leadership potential and this is what the world is calling on us to do now. S3 Ep 125#125: Stop Being the Bull
#125: Stop Being the Bull In this Monday mindset episode, released on a Tuesday (thank you technology), I am sharing some tips about embracing change. We can choose how we respond, no matter what our circumstances. Learning how to reframe our situation is a powerful tool to shift our mindset when we are stuck in our stories. In this episode, we discuss: Embracing change can be challenging. We always have a choice in how we react, respond or what we do next. Focusing on the why questions keep us stuck and looking at ourselves and what it is doing to us. When we ask the what questions it changes how we see what we are facing. We open up our mind to what is possible. We don't have a playbook, or a rule book which also means there is no right or wrong way to do this. We have to be willing to try multiple ways of trying to find a solution. Frustration, resentment, fear, scarcity are all part of being a human, we have to shift it when we are in this space, as we can decide how we are embracing these challenges. Learning how to back to our inner compass is so powerful. We always know the answers, yet we spend a lot of time resisting what we can't change or cannot control. So we can be the bull or we can laugh at ourselves and realize that we are the bull that pushes through and sometimes life is not that scenario. It just is right now. Yes an Eckart Tolle moment! S3 Ep 124#124: Radical Responsibility - What the Heck is it?
#124: Radical Responsibility – What the Heck is it? In this Monday mindset episode, we are diving into Radical Responsibility and what the heck it actually means. I am sharing daily messages on social media for the month of April and supporting my friend, Samantha Kris' #365daysofclarity challenge. Today I am breaking down what I will be covering this month and how I will be diving into this topic to help you to learn how to take Radical Responsibility in your life. Follow the # on Instagram and if you are ready to create change, follow along every day and let us know how you are implementing these changes in your life. In this episode, we discuss: In order to learn how to take Radical Responsibility in our lives, we must start by breaking down the stories, the shame stories and the limiting beliefs that we are holding onto. We must be able to break down and figure out what story we are buying into in order to write a new story. We are truly in a time and space where we are coming face to face with having very little control over what is happening to us with covid19. We never had control with our outside world, it is just a time where we are experiencing that we can only control ourselves and that includes how we handle and react to what we are given. Our response is under our control. Recognizing what we do have control of as ourselves, what are the things that need to change in your life as of today? What do you need to add or take away? In times of chaos, everything is changing constantly, so it is even more important that we focus on what is our responsibility to control. When we focus on taking radical responsibility for ourselves, we own what is ours to own, and ultimately, we become more powerful. This is how we step into our leadership potential and this is what the world is calling on us to do now. S3 Ep 123#123: Impact Yourself. Impact Your World. with Hilary Gauld Camilleri
#123: Impact Yourself. Impact Your World. with Hilary Gauld Camilleri In this episode, I am speaking with my friend and incredible photographer, Hilary Camilleri. Hilary has taken my photos for the past 5 years and she truly has captured my emotional journey, including the picture for the cover of my book. I am so grateful to have Hilary on the podcast and give her an opportunity to highlight her story of impacting others. Following a rewarding career as a Sales Representative and Territorial Manager at Labatt Breweries Canada, Hilary transitioned to a career in photography, opening One for the Wall in 2008. Since then, she has used her considerable knowledge of business and sales to grow a very successful enterprise, photographing over 3,500 families in Southwestern Ontario in the last 11 years. In 2011, she began to branch her business into commercial and corporate photography, creating imagery for promotional and marketing purposes, as well as executive and professional profile portraits. Hilary has quickly become known in the thriving local business community as the first choice for both natural light and studio light photography. Alongside her corporate work, she has also created a strong portfolio of actors, singers, speakers, and other arts and entertainment professionals, who are drawn to her dramatic lighting and creative composition. In 2018 she was awarded the K-W Oktoberfest Rogers Woman of the Year in Arts & Culture. Hilary loves living in the dynamic community of Waterloo Region and is proud to share her passion for entrepreneurship, volunteerism and community involvement In this episode, we discuss: Embracing all of our traumas and difficult experiences we have had in our lives and learning how to use them to become more enlightened human beings. When we do the internal work on ourselves and commit to the process of learning and loving ourselves, we can truly step into our gifts to create an impact in the world that we are capable of creating. How society can lean into this pause and experience of covid19, and how can we come out of this time as stronger leaders and humans. When your work is tied to your purpose, you are standing in your gifts and that is when you can make the biggest impact in the world. Everything happens for a reason. We aren't necessarily supposed to understand or make sense of the reason, yet there is always something we can make of our challenges and our story. Hilary recently created an Instagram page called, My Four Walls and it is a global diary on thoughts and spaces during isolation in the 2020 pandemic. S3 Ep 122#122: Raise Your Standards Not Your Expectations
#122: Raise Your Standards Not Your Expectations In this Monday mindset episode, I am sharing the lessons I learned this past week. There is a very specific distinction between standards and expectations. One is based on fact and one is based on fiction. I have always been one to set very high expectations for myself, and as a person who has always been driven and pushes towards goals, I am learning to let go of or shift the meaning of expectations. In the weeks following isolation and physical distancing of coronavirus, I went full speed ahead into my online business, only to realize I was setting ridiculous expectations for myself. Instead I had to learn to understand what my standards were and to raise them accordingly. I promise I am always learning and always a work in progress. In this episode, we discuss: A standard is a fact. It is a level of quality that is accepted by the norm. Standards are based on our current needs, what we are doing, the actions we are taking, and the environment that we are surrounding ourselves with. These are the standards we choose to live with in our life. An expectation is a strong belief that something is going to happen in the future. It is fictional and based on our internal beliefs of what we think we should be attaining. As soon as the word should is part of the sentence, seriously run. It is time to shift away from "should'ing" on ourselves. Expectations are based on beliefs, our willpower, our biased premonitions and tend to lead to anger, frustration, resentment and disappointment. Our expectations don't always align with our personal needs. In order to create change, we must focus on raising our standards. One example of standards is our environment and who we choose to surround ourselves with. As Jim Rohn said, "we are the sum of the 5 people we spend the most time with". If we want to create change we must raise our standards of the people we choose to surround ourselves with. As Lori Harder said, "our environment will always be stronger than our willpower". We must raise our standards for our environment as this will always take us further than expectations any day. Looking at where we can raise our standards in our life in such areas as self-care, owning our choices, setting our sights on our new normal. We are not going back to normal, we are creating a new normal by raising our standards. S3 Ep 121#121: Fighting Cancer Through Vulnerability with Beau Whitman
#121: Fighting Cancer Through Vulnerability with Beau Whitman In this episode I am speaking with Beau Whitman, a Personal Trainer and Motivator to so many people. Beau is one of seven siblings in the Whitman family. Growing up with two younger brothers and four older sisters – all of whom are supportive, passionate, and wildly competitive – shaped who Beau is as an athlete, coach, trainer and person. His athletic career began at Parkettes National Gymnastics Training Center where he trained as a competitive gymnast for twelve years. After retiring, he competed as a five-sport varsity athlete in high school, participating in Soccer, Diving, Wrestling, Lacrosse, and Track & Field. With its close ties to Gymnastics, Pole Vaulting captured Beau's heart and led him to join the Lehigh Mountain Hawks Division I Track & Field Team at Lehigh University. After college, Beau accepted a position at New York University as the Assistant Jumps Coach for the Track & Field Team. Here he uncovered his passion for coaching and helping other athletes. Beau became a trainer and CrossFit coach so that he could further help people achieve their goals, compete, and recover from injuries. Having experienced six major reconstructive procedures during his athletic career, Beau understands the physical endurance and restraint, as well as the positive mentality necessary to successfully recover from an injury. Following the mantra, "rebuilt to inspire", Beau works with injured athletes to make full recoveries and motivates them to come back both physically and mentally stronger. In this episode, we discuss: Everything happens for a reason. We aren't necessarily supposed to understand or make sense of the reason, yet there is always something we can make of our challenges and our story. Vulnerability is something Beau truly embraces as he challenges himself and others to go 5 layers deep in our questions. Allowing ourselves to be vulnerable is what truly connects us to each other. Beau's mantra, "rebuilt to inspire", is a mantra that he truly lived and continues to live on a daily basis. We always teach what we learn. That is what makes us powerful human beings and authentic in our message. Beau openly shared and documented his cancer journey online to offer support to others and this connected him with so many people that he became an inspiration for.
S3 Ep 120#120: Controlling What We Can Control
#120: Controlling What We Can Control In this Monday mindset episode, I am sharing the lessons I am reminded of week #1 of the coronavirus. We are always learning and relearning our own lessons. That is why we can teach them. Week #1 has been a massive change for all us. Seriously that is an understatement. It has impacted our outside world as much as our online world. We still always have the ability to choose how we respond. WE can choose the BE the change in this world, in our world. In this episode, we discuss: We must focus on controlling what we can control. Our response, our choices, our thoughts and our actions are all our choices In times of unknown we must do the things to take care of ourselves, self-care, boundaries and letting go of what we can't control all become a top priority. It is the only way we can handle the daily stressors and challenges. What if we use this time to breathe, slow down and decide if we are actually doing what we want to do? What if evaluate what we are doing in our life and maybe decide it is time to make some changes? The time to learn how to lead ourselves is now. The world is calling for us to step up and be leaders so we can continue to light the way for others. My lesson on repeat is to BE the change we want to see in this world. S3 Ep 118118: Leadership & Ownership – Now is the Time
#118: Leadership & Ownership – Now is the Time In this episode, I am diving into my thoughts of this drastically changing world as we are all dealing with the COVID-19 Virus that is impacting everyone worldwide. In this episode, we discuss: When life challenges us our first reaction tends to be to retreat, yet this only isolates us even more. We can only choose to feed fear or faith. Feeding the fear keeps us stuck. Feeding the faith allows us to see each other, to connect and to support each other through this difficult time. The world is requiring us to step up and show up as leaders to make a difference. Taking ownership and taking radical ownership for ourselves is how we create change in our lives. S3 Ep 117117: Your Voice is Powerful - International Woman's Day 2020
117: Your Voice is Powerful - IWD 2020 In this Monday Mindset Episode, I am celebrating International Woman's Day 2020 by saying thank you to all of the women who have gone before me to pave the way for what I am creating. I share some tips that have created an impact in my life and I hope that they will do the same for you. In this episode, we discuss: Going back to the beginning (5-6 years ago) when I felt so alone, isolated and had no idea what to do next. I knew I didn't want to feel the way I did but didn't know where you start. I joined facebook groups, I hid in the background watching, observing until I could find the courage to speak up and trust my voice. Eventually I started attending events, hiring coaches, and joining programs to learn how to change my circumstances. These were all lead by incredible women who went first! When you are feeling stuck, alone and not sure what to do next, how can you BE the change you wish you could see in the world? Who can you support, who can you give back to without any expectation in return? Who can you celebrate, because when your sister wins, you win too! Where can you speak up and use your voice, even and especially when you are scared? My biggest advice is to stop doing it alone. That is never the way. We always go further together. S3 Ep 116#116: Finding the Courage to Change with Kelly Thorne
#116: Finding the Courage to Change with Kelly Thorne I am thrilled to be speaking with Kelly Thorne, Speaker, Author and Advocate. Kelly and I connected online almost 3 years ago. She has continued to be my reminder to show up and share my story, we never know who is listening and ready to hear our story. Kelly is one of the authors in the upcoming collaborative book, Own Your Choices. Kelly is an advocate for families living alongside addiction. Her mission is to help families find freedom in their own lives, remove guilt, and empower themselves on their journey of self - discovery. In addition to being a spouse living alongside addiction, Kelly has her own personal story of addiction and recovery. She uses her journey to deliver an educational and informative talk that is warm, lighthearted, and engages her audience to think. Kelly has been an educator for twenty years with the District School Board of Niagara. She facilitates workshops, has spoken at events in Southern Ontario, and offers online support to families through her facebook page Finding Freedom from an Addicted Loved One. In this episode, we discuss: Living with shame stories can lead us to living a double life as we work hard to hide our stories from everyone. We tend to want to avoid judgment as much as possible. We always have a choice with what we choose to accept, tolerate or decide to change in our life. The decisions can be hard but they are always still a choice. Learning to own and share our stories can truly be the freedom we are searching for. We are the solutions that other people are searching for. The lessons we learned can be shared with others when we embrace and grow our courage to change and embrace what is possible. It's ok to be scared when we learn to share our story. S3 Ep 115#115: Breaking Through Your Energy Blocks
#115: "Breaking Through Your Energy Blocks" In this Monday Mindset Episode, I am sharing my tips on the power of energy blocks in our life. Energy is our GPS that is trying to direct us towards potential opportunites and away from things that are not working for us. When our energy is poor or low, it becomes this massive block in our life that stops other opportunites from reaching us. The opposite is that every time our energy is high, we become a magnet for opportunities that we couldn't see before. We are the ones who can change our energy. It is truly our responsibility! In this episode, we discuss: Identify where our energy is high and low in our life. Where can we listen to the signs our energy is giving us? Where can we trust what our energy is telling us? Where can we take ownership of what is and is not working in our lives. This is where we have the ability to create change. #113: "One of My Fav Brene Brown Quotes" In this Monday Mindset Episode, I am sharing one of my fav Brene Brown quotes: " I now see how owning our story and loving ourselves through the process is the bravest thing that we will ever do." ~ Brene Brown In this episode, we discuss: Embracing change and everything that life is trying to bring to us, yet we are blocked by our "stories" or our shame of what everyone else will think of us. Ownership literally changes everything. We cannot change anything if we don't own it first and if we don't own it, it owns you. Loving ourselves with compassion and grace through our difficult stories is truly the only way to live. It takes tremendous practice to learn how to do this, yet it is such a powerful lesson. Learn to accept and maybe eventually love the lessons your story is teaching you. Don't make it about the trauma of the story, shift it to be about the lessons you've learned. S3 Ep 112112: "You Are Your Best Teacher"
#112: "You Are Your Best Teacher" In this Monday Mindset Episode, I am sharing my thoughts on recognizing that you are your best teacher. I completely believe, support and practice investing in ourselves with coaches, mentors and people who are successfully doing what we are working toward. Coaching with others can literally shorten our learning curve and help us with the challenges that will be in our path. I do also believe that we are our best teacher! We are being guided by our future self, by our intuition, and learning from all of the experiences that we have lived! We are literally our best teacher! In this episode, we discuss: Accepting that in order to create change we must recognize that we must commit to doing the work. Coaching with mentors is important, yet we have to do the work too! Ask yourself the hard questions: Am I happy? If no, what needs to change to change this? What do I need more of or less than in order to change this? Do my choices line up with what I want to create or where I want my life to go? Recognize that you have made a number of choices that have brought you to here and you truly have overcome a number of obstacles and challenges. You are truly stronger than you think and you have been a teacher somewhere in your life to get to here. S3 Ep 103#103: The Energy of Making Decisions
#103: "The Energy of Making Decisions" In this Monday Mindset Episode, we are diving the energy we expend in making decisions. I am sharing a lesson I recently learned, regarding how much energy we waste in contemplating decisions without ever making them. Not making the decisions is actually blocking you from the opportunities meant for you. Today I am sharing the 5 tips to helping you make a decision faster and from a place of ownership and never blame. In this episode, we discuss: Being conscious of how much energy are you wasting on one decision without ever making it? Focus on the energy you are feeling when you are contemplating the decision, the scenario and what you want to do next. Energy never lies. It is always directing us to the path to follow. If you are feeling stuck and stagnant, where can you make one choice to get into action. That step of action can start the path of potential momentum. Where can you listen to your intuition and trust the process? When you make a decision how can you speak from a space of ownership instead of blame? Stop trying to control all of the possible outcomes that are unpredictable and outside of your control. Focus on what you can control and that is always yourself. S2 Ep 92#92: "Where is Your Emotional Home?"
#92: "Where is Your Emotional Home?" In this Monday Mindset Episode, I am sharing my experience from attending The Power of Success Event in Toronto where I had the pleasure of hearing Tony Robbins, Rachel Hollis, John Gray, Gary John Bishop, Molly Bloom and many other speakers. One message in particular from Tony Robbins hit home for me. He spoke about acknowledging where our "emotional home" is. This is the place that we continuously go back to, most times without even thinking about it. It is so subconscious that we our thoughts, mindset, energy and beliefs drift back to our old patterns and our old ways. If we are going to make a change in our lives, we must recognize our patterns, our normal ways of sabotaging ourselves and come face to face with our emotional home. Attending events in personal development, hiring the coaches and committing to bettering ourselves is great. The intentions won't be long lived or successful if we don't address some of these issues. The quality of our life is determined by where we live emotionally. In this episode we talk about: 1. Acknowledging what our emotional home is. Is it stress, worry, anxiety, fear, paralysis, inaction, judgement etc.? We cannot change anything if we do not acknowledge and accept what our old patterns are. This is where all change starts. 2. We can have the best intentions for creating change in our lives, if we don't understand our methods for self-sabotage and come up with some alternatives, the law of familiarity will kick in and bring us back to where we started. 3. We all have potential to create any change we want to create in our lives. If we don't take action steps, potential means nothing. We must get into action to give us results, positive or negative. Either way it is simply feedback for us to learn which direction we want to go next, and this in turn builds our certainty and belief in ourselves. This helps us to build the confidence and courage to use our potential again. 4. The first choice we all have to make is what do we focus on?! What we focus on we feel. That means if it is all negative, scarcity, comparison, doubt and fear, then that is all that we will see. That only drops our energy, drains us of our potential and keeps us stuck in our original space and mindset. Hence, no change happens. 5. If you don't decide what you want to focus on the world will decide for you, and this will not create change either. 6. What are your action steps, your strategic plans for when self-sabotage kicks in? Call it out, see what your normal patterns are and when it happens, and it will, change the pattern instantly in the moment. Change can happen that quickly when we shift that every and change that pattern to one that takes us closer to where we want to go in our lives. 7. You can change your emotional home at any time by following these action steps, and that is when lasting change occurs in your life

S2 Ep 89#89: When the Doubt Creeps In
#89: "When the Doubt Creeps In" In this Monday Mindset Episode, I am openly sharing my thoughts on doubt. Yes, I am being vulnerable and real as doubt is something that can creep into my life and gain a ton of momentum if I let it. I work to catch it before it gets to that stage! In this episode we talk about: 1. Doubt is a normal part of life. We experience doubt multiple times every day because it is based on what we know and what we have already created. Anything that we want outside of that spectrum will require us to expand our thinking, mindset and personal beliefs. 2. We must choose to build contrary evidence that we can achieve, accomplish or attempt something new. It is our belief, so it is up to us to change it! 3. When we overthink, over process, overanalyze everything, we continue to feed the doubt. We must build new practices that negate the power that we are giving our doubts. 4. We must buy into new stories, new beliefs and new possibilities in order to stop the momentum that doubt is building in our lives. 5. Doubt and faith cannot live in the same place. We must consciously choose faith if we want to create a different or a new reality for ourselves. It is always in our hands. 6. Stop resisting doubt or fighting it. This only feeds it and gives it more power. We are the ones that can change that, by writing a new story and creating new beliefs. 7. Name your doubt, recognize that it is just your ego trying to keep you safe and small. Say, "no thank you, not today, I've got this." If the door doesn't lead you in the direction you expected, simply course correct and change direction! 8. You are here for a reason and you are more capable than you know! S2 Ep 88#88: "Challenging the Status Quo" with Carinne Chambers-Saini
#88: "Challenging the Status Quo & Becoming Disruptors in the Period Care Industry" with Carinne Chambers-Saini Today we chat with Carinne Chambers-Saini – Co-Founder, CEO of Diva Cup International Carinne Chambers-Saini is the CEO and co-founder of Diva International Inc. Since 2001, Diva has been challenging the period status quo. Carinne, along with her mother and co-founder, Francine Chambers, have become disruptors in the menstrual care industry, passionately following their dream to create a healthy and effective alternative to disposables. As an operation that started in the Chamber's basement, Carinne and Francine have grown Diva from a staff of two to a team of more than 40 people and is still growing. Their product, the DivaCup, is easy-to-use, cost-effective, eco-friendly, and the number one selling product in its category on Amazon. Carinne is excited to take Diva, as the leader in menstrual care, into the future by continuing to use business as a force for good for customers, the community and the planet. In this episode we talk about: 1. One of the biggest lessons is learning what your limiting beliefs are and learning how to grow past these beliefs. That is how we can become the next version of ourselves and reach our potential. 2. Stay focused on one thing at a time in business, especially in the early stages. Chasing too many things can lead to not reaching any of them. Commit, take action, follow through and make it happen. 3. Listen to your body, continue to make health a priority and tune into what your body needs. Listen to the whispers before it screams at you. 4. We can't do it all by ourselves.
S2 Ep 87#87: "I Can't Hear My Intuition"
#87: "I Can't Hear My Intuition" In this Monday Mindset Episode I am sharing my answers to a question I am asked repeatedly, "How do I listen to my intuition?" If we can't hear our intuition, or find a way to tune into what it is telling us, we aren't connected to our internal compass. Our intuition is always working to guide us in the best direction possible, yet we spend so little time connecting to or following that voice. This leads to us becoming so disconnected that we separate completely from what it is trying to tell us. Improving our relationship with our intuition is something we can achieve with repetition and frequency. It starts with something small and with practice we can learn how to tune into the messages that our intuition is communicating with us. In this episode we talk about: 1. Our intuition is our internal compass, it is trying to guide us in the right direction. 2. If we want to develop a better relationship with our intuition, we must start listening to it. We cannot ignore the voice, the messages and then be frustrated that we can't hear our intuition. This is a practice that we must commit to practicing. 3. We must stop giving our power to others. We are so caught up in what others are saying, doing, thinking, accomplishing that we forget to listen to what it is that we actually want to do in our own lives. 4. When we follow the energy, follow joy and what lights us up, what drives us, we get more in tune with what we want to say yes and no to. 5. Start small, we can ask ourselves the questions and listen to the answers. Our bodies are always talking and communicating with us. We can listen to the whispers or we can keep ignoring them until we hear the screams. 6. The more we listen to our intuition, the louder and clearer the voices will get. 7. Tuning into our intuition reminds us of how powerful we truly are when we choose to step into that power. S2 Ep 85#85: "Putting the Armour Down"
#85: "Putting the Armour Down" In this Monday Mindset Episode I am sharing a message I shared during my talk at The Great Canadian Woman's Summit this past weekend in Gravenhurst. I talked about the weight of the armour, how we carry it to protect us, to keep us "safe and protected", and how that armour is holding us back in our lives. When we learn to let go of the weight of that armour, we can truly find our freedom and our army of people who are there waiting to support us. In this episode we talk about: 1. Why do we carry the armour, the weight of it, how we make choices in our everyday lives to lift the armour or put it down. 2. Owning our choices in each situation we face during the day, and that is where we tend to spend or lose our energy. 3. Choosing to show up, allow ourselves to be seen and heard, including all of our imperfections and messy lessons that we learned along the way, that is how we allow others to see us. 4. When we let go of the weight of that armour, we truly realize the feeling of freedom, happiness, joy and how light life can be. 5. Letting go of our armour to finally find our tribe. When we allow ourselves to be seen, beautiful things can happen as our people can finally find us. We realize we aren't alone and that so many others are out there looking for us too! S2 Ep 84#84: "My Journey to Overcoming Fear" with Diane Gies
#84: "My Journey to Overcoming Fear" with Diane Gies Today we chat with Diane Gies– Personal Life Coach & Impactor Diane is an International Best-Selling Author, a Facilitator and Coach who specializes in Personal Development training through custom tailored workshops, lunch and learns and keynote speaking. A graduate of the social work program, Diane has dedicated her life to understanding human behaviour and ultimately creating change where change is needed. She believes that life is a journey and is 'made up of a tapestry of events that culminate in an exquisite, sublime plan'. Every decision we make will place us on a path full of new opportunities and experiences that will bring us closer to our purpose in life. With that in mind, she decided to partner up with some amazing individuals who share her beliefs. She has created a program that will cater to the mind, the body and the soul all while being away at a sunny destination. She is the Founder and Creative Director of Elite Wellness Getaways and beyond excited to help you create the change needed so that you can live the life you deserve! Diane shares her very personal story with overcoming fear, dealing with personal health challenges and how she is determined to pay it forward to others. In this episode we talk about: 1. Life is a series of making decisions, owning our choices, overcoming our fears and making more decisions. Incredible change happens when we learn to face and overcome our fears. 2. Nothing happens to us, it happens for us, even when we can't see or make sense of the reasons at the time. 3. We hear it all the time, learning how to believe that we are truly enough as we are. It is one of the most powerful life lessons! 4. We cannot manifest anything that we cannot graciously receive. THIS message was such a powerful realization! Being in the space of receiving makes us vulnerable and that can be a difficult place to stay, yet that truly is the beautiful space where growth happens. 5. When fear overtakes us, follow the process by Mel Robbins, 5-4-3-2-1 and push forward into action. It is the pause and overthinking where we live in and create more fear to stay stuck. 6. When we surrender we are allowing the process to present itself. It isn't for us to figure out. What we continue to fight or resist only comes back or stays in our life. We must move through the discomfort! 7. When we learn our lessons it is our responsibility to pay it forward to others. We can all make a difference!
