#84: "My Journey to Overcoming Fear" with Diane Gies Today we chat with Diane Gies– Personal Life Coach & Impactor Diane is an International Best-Selling Author, a Facilitator and Coach who specializes in Personal Development training through custom tailored workshops, lunch and learns and keynote speaking. A graduate of the social work program, Diane has dedicated her life to understanding human behaviour and ultimately creating change where change is needed. She believes that life is a journey and is 'made up of a tapestry of events that culminate in an exquisite, sublime plan'. Every decision we make will place us on a path full of new opportunities and experiences that will bring us closer to our purpose in life. With that in mind, she decided to partner up with some amazing individuals who share her beliefs. She has created a program that will cater to the mind, the body and the soul all while being away at a sunny destination. She is the Founder and Creative Director of Elite Wellness Getaways and beyond excited to help you create the change needed so that you can live the life you deserve! Diane shares her very personal story with overcoming fear, dealing with personal health challenges and how she is determined to pay it forward to others. In this episode we talk about: 1. Life is a series of making decisions, owning our choices, overcoming our fears and making more decisions. Incredible change happens when we learn to face and overcome our fears. 2. Nothing happens to us, it happens for us, even when we can't see or make sense of the reasons at the time. 3. We hear it all the time, learning how to believe that we are truly enough as we are. It is one of the most powerful life lessons! 4. We cannot manifest anything that we cannot graciously receive. THIS message was such a powerful realization! Being in the space of receiving makes us vulnerable and that can be a difficult place to stay, yet that truly is the beautiful space where growth happens. 5. When fear overtakes us, follow the process by Mel Robbins, 5-4-3-2-1 and push forward into action. It is the pause and overthinking where we live in and create more fear to stay stuck. 6. When we surrender we are allowing the process to present itself. It isn't for us to figure out. What we continue to fight or resist only comes back or stays in our life. We must move through the discomfort! 7. When we learn our lessons it is our responsibility to pay it forward to others. We can all make a difference! S2 Ep 83#83: Get Your Butt in the Seats - The Power of Live Events
#83: "Get Your Butt in the Seats – The Power of Live Events" In this Monday Mindset Episode, I talk about the power of live events! Over the last ten years, I have attended multiple live events, through personal development, work, business and professional development. I have gone to local events, weekend retreats, weeklong events and events on a plane all by myself. All of them have been transformational for different reasons. I choose which ones to attend based on where I am at in my life, who is speaking, who I want to learn from and who is on the path I want to continue to step in, follow and learn from. As I get ready to attend and speak at the Great Canadian Woman Summit in Gravenhurst, Ontario this upcoming weekend, I am beyond excited to share some of my takeaway as to why I think it is so important to attend live events. In this episode we talk about: 1. Live events are a massive opportunity for personal growth, in all areas of our lives. Choose to attend events that are slightly or hugely outside of your comfort zone. These ones hold the largest opportunity for change and growth. 2. Events are a great way to break the stagnation in our lives. Events are a shift in energy, opportunities to push our comfort zone, and see what we are truly capable of. We tend to surprise ourselves when we step into these arenas! 3. This is the opportunity to learn something new. I encourage people to focus on 1-2 tips/strategies or tools that they can take and implement immediately in their lives. It is impossible to take in all of the information and we aren't meant to. Instead focus on the points that resonate and speak to you the most. They are likely the points that are the easiest to implement. 4. This is an opportunity to meet your tribe of people. If you are feeling alone, isolated and not sure what step to take next, step into the rooms of the people you want to learn from, and you will find new people who are walking a similar path as you. 5. This is an opportunity to meet, collaborate and learn from others. As an early mentor of mine, Cathy Savage always said, "a group of women can have the exact same business, yet when they learn to truly bring themselves to the table it changes everything." There is no room for competition, only collaboration and events are a great steppingstone to collaboration. 6. Plan ahead, look at the next 3 – 12 months and figure out what events you would like to attend, who you would like to learn from and budget accordingly. You can't possibly attend everything, create a ranking system and decide what speaks to you the most, depending on where you are in your journey. S2 Ep 81#81: "What You Are Holding Onto is Holding You Back"
#81: "What You Are Holding Onto is Holding You Back" In this Monday Mindset Episode, I talk about the things that are holding us back in our lives. From people, to experiences, resentment, memories, pain, limiting beliefs, all of it is holding us back. The more we hold onto things we cannot change or control, the more we are stopping ourselves or limiting what we go after in the future. Whatever we tell ourselves, we believe to be true and that will hold us back from going after any new opportunities or experiences. We get to decide what we are holding onto and how much power that will have over us in our lives. In this episode we talk about: 1. When we choose to carry too many things in our lives such as pain, resentment, anger, past decisions, hurt etc., we are increasing the possibility of being overwhelmed, and accomplishing little or literally nothing. 2. Take a close look at what you are carrying and how it is weighing you down, even deciding how heavy the load is as it is holding you back. Literally, your hands are so full of yesterday's issues and "stuff" that you have no room to carry anything new. This leaves no room for change to come into your life. 3. Who is this serving? What is this allowing you to change? Where is this choice keeping you stuck? 4. Are you carrying things that you have no business carrying? If so, you are subconsciously giving your power back to your stories and to your past. Again, there is no room for opportunities for the future, your hands are full! 5. Specifically look at what you are carrying and decide what you can put down. Making room, space in your life will leave so much space for the unimaginable! 6. Where can you surrender and completely let go of control in your life? The more you can embody this act of letting go, the more you can own your choices and take full control of the future direction of your life. S2 Ep 79#79: "What Happens After You Hit the Wall?"
#79: "What Happens After You Hit the Wall?" In this Monday Mindset Episode, I am sharing my experiences with "hitting the wall" on my own journey. We have all hit the wall before, for some of us it happens multiple times over in our lives! As with everything it is knowing what to do next. These next steps can change everything for us! What happens when we hit the wall? How do we recognize the signs or avoid the wall altogether? What do we do next to move through this experience? In this episode we talk about: 1. Owning the power of the word CHOICE! Even if it feels like we don't have a choice, we always have a choice in how we react, respond and work through situations that are truly outside of our control! 2. Focusing on our next step and our next choice. 3. Reviewing how we hit the wall in the first place? What was missing in our lives that put us in that position? Lack of self-care, ignoring what we needed in our life, or trying to control circumstances outside of our control? Or is it a set of circumstances that keep happening, lessons that are trying to teach us something or is it a season or a period of time in your life that may be challenging? 4. Focusing on WHAT happens next? Your very next decision may have nothing to do with fixing or changing the wall, yet it might have everything to do with assisting or allowing you to stand back up and take one more step. The WHAT is truly about what you need to keep going to work through your circumstances. 5. What has to change? If you look back and take an inventory of the situation, what could you have done to have a different outcome? What choices or decisions could you have made earlier on that may have led to a different outcome or maybe not hitting the wall altogether? 6. How can you recognize the signs to better see the wall coming in the first place? Preparation, combined with new lessons, observations and choices, may lead to a completely different outcome! S2 Ep 78#78: "The Power and Impact of Community" with Falon Malec
#78: "The Power and Impact of Community with Falon Malec" Today we chat with Falon Malec -- Boss Goddess Writing Coach, Author & Founder of the Goddess Guild. Growing up in Ontario CA, Falon was surrounded by lakes and wilderness, sparking her love of nature and feeding her desire to protect and nurture it. As a child, her nose was always buried in a book, so it was no surprise that she'd develop a love for writing, and shared her stories through her blog, Life's Dirty Secrets, and collaborative books with other women. Now as an adult, after years of searching for her tribe, she's combined the power of community with her love of books to create The Goddess Guild, the not-so-secret society for divine change, which is built on the foundation of sisterhood through collaboration over competition. In this episode we talk about: 1. There will be situations in our life that don't work out as we expect, and even as far as feeling like it's the worst possible scenario, and these circumstances can lead us to our biggest growth opportunities. 2. When things don't work out in our favour, or we have been hurt through the experience, holding onto our anger and frustration only hurts us and keeps us stuck in those emotions. 3. Letting go and moving through the pain is the most effective way to move forward and create healthier relationships with ourselves and with others. 4. We must learn to listen to and trust our intuition. The sooner we improve and strengthen this relationship, the faster we will be able to make decisions. We can build trust in our intuition by learning to follow it when it is speaking to us. 5. Some of the worst situations in our lives can be our best teachers. 6. Forgiveness is for us. We must learn self-compassion and self-forgiveness. Life is full of lessons and we truly are students. 7. There is so much power in community, collaboration and connecting with other women. We can help each other through our most difficult experiences. We are not meant to do life alone. S2 Ep 77#77: "Ownership & Blame Cannot Live in the Same Place"
#77: "Ownership & Blame Don't Live in the Same Place" In this Monday Mindset Episode, I am talking about 2 words that have been very powerful on my journey….Ownership and Blame! These two words are complete opposites and when we focus our language, energy and mindset on one, the other can't survive. When we focus on blame we are giving our power away and when we focus on ownership we are taking our power back. We get to choose which one we focus on and our focus can literally change the direction and progress we make in our lives! In this episode we talk about: 1. Blaming others for our circumstances is literally giving our power away and it is stopping us from creating any change in our lives. 2. The energy of blaming keeps us stuck and living as a victim and subconsciously keeps us in limbo that our life cannot change until XYZ changes. That could mean a lifetime of waiting and quite possibly NO change ever happening in our lives! 3. Ownership is you taking radical responsibility for yourself. That includes all of your choices, thoughts, actions, reactions, decisions, and how you respond to life around you. This is where your power is, is in full ownership! 4. The reasons that we don't take ownership are because of fear of judgment of others, fear of criticism etc. Literally all the reasons are about things that you have zero control over! You are using that energy to control things you can't control instead of using it to control the things you can control, which is YOU! 5. Your power is truly hidden in the stories that you are desperately trying to hide from the world. Our stories, our humanness is what connects all of us to each other. That is how we see that we are not alone, that we are truly more alike than different. Our mistakes and our lessons actually connect us to each other. 6. There are two opportunities to learn more info on HOW to implement this in your life….The Leverage Your Story Mastermind…enrollment is open for 6 more spots until the end of September. S2 Ep 76#76: "Rock Bottom is Where it all Started" with Nicole Dalcourt
#76: "Rock Bottom is Where it all Started" with Nicole Dalcourt" Today we chat with Author and Podcast Host, Nicole Dalcourt Nicole is a mother, wife, writer and award-winning real estate agent who is on a mission to empower women to become the authors of their own story. Nicole spent years struggling with anxiety and panic attacks and believed that she was 'broken' – a narrative that nearly cost her, her own life. Now healed from her experience, she is passionate about sharing her story so other women who are struggling will know they aren't alone. This was an impactful episode as we dove into the power of our shame stories and how they can take complete control of our lives. By owning our stories and releasing their power, shame can no longer hold us back from living our lives. In this episode we talk about: 1. Our shame stories and the power they have over us in our lives. Nicole is here to make a massive impact in the lives of others by creating the space and freedom to grieve, release and let go of the power of our shame stories. 2. Our lives can change as soon as we decide it will no longer continue in the same manner. We can course correct and change direction immediately when we decide to. 3. There is a purpose to our pain and a meaning to our lessons if we slow down and listen to what our body is telling us. 4. Our voice, intuition and strength will continue to compound and grow when we create the space for it to happen. 5. Make a promise and commitment to yourself and stick to it! 6. S2 Ep 75#75: What is Holding You Back?"
#75: "What is Holding You Back?" In this Monday Mindset Episode, I am talking about What is Actually Holding us Back! It is the last four months of 2019. Are you still pursuing the same goals from the beginning of January? If not, what is stopping you? When we break down the things that are stopping us from reaching forward toward our goals, we quickly realize that it's all on us. It is our choice what we are doing, not doing, chasing, working towards or stopping us. It is all our choice. In this episode we talk about: 1. Recognizing the "stories", excuses, and limitations that we take on from other people. It is easy to believe the thoughts and opinions from others, because truthfully it is easier to stay smaller. Don't follow the easy path, follow the path that is calling you to use your gifts. That is where we make the biggest impact! 2. Letting the fear of judgement of others dictate and limit your life is a waste of your gifts and talent. No one will ever judge you more than you judge yourself, so don't give the opinions of others that much weight! 3. Being embarrassed to share your stories, to show up as your true authentic self, to share your "humanness" with others is simply showing your judgement of yourself. Stop being so hard on yourself. It is time to give yourself some self-compassion, grace and forgiveness. 4. The shame that we carry from our stories is weighing us down, it is out of control. Shame loves secrecy, so the more we hide and bury ourselves in shame, the more shame wins. We must give a voice to our stories, to the lessons that we learned even to help ourselves move forward. 5. A lack of boundaries is a direct relationship to the anxiety we experience. Learning how to create and implement boundaries can be life changing. 6. The limits that we are choosing to stop us from pursuing our goals, are all limits that we are choosing. If we are responsible for choosing them, we can also let them go. They don't have to be our limits. We don't have to accept any of these limits. Let's not be the reasons that we are holding ourselves back. #73: "The Power of Ownership...What Does it Mean?" In this Monday Mindset Episode, I am talking about the power of ownership. Ownership is truly the cornerstone for all of the changes in my own personal life. Learning how to own my own choices helped me let go of all the anger, hurt and resentment in my life. Learning the power of ownership led to freedom in my life. Freedom from the judgement of others, freedom from the shame of my story. Learning to own my choices truthfully led me to owning my own life!! In this episode we talk about: 1. We all have stories, whether we borrow them from others, or we just accept that it's the way our life has to be. When we accept it as our story, we let it limit and control what we do in our lives. We miss opportunities because we don't see them when we are hiding in our stories. Owning our stories is the first step to changing them. 2. If you don't OWN your story, it OWNS you!! 3. If your story gives you feelings of guilt or shame, then you owe it to yourself and to others in your life to learn how to stand ON it and not IN it! You deserve to find the FREEDOM from learning to OWN your story! 4. When we are taking responsibility for everyone else's behaviour, choices and trying to fix, manage or control everyone else's behaviour, we are putting our most valuable resource of our energy into things that won't create any change in our lives. We must put that energy into ourselves, and into creating change in our own lives. Being the change, we wish to see in this world is how we can create change in the lives of others. 5. Learning how to unwrap or unpack our stories helps us to see all the details. This helps us to take the birds eye view and embrace the lessons we learned, to see our role in the story, to see our gifts and to see how we can make a difference for others. Someone is praying for a solution and you have the answers. 6. Tap into the energy, the emotions, and the feelings and that allows you to connect to others. It allows for others to see you as you truly are. No more hiding. 7. Ownership is the first step to creating change in your life. It all starts with owning your choices first! S2 Ep 71#71: What is Your Anger Costing You
#71: "What is Your Anger Costing You? " In this Monday Mindset Episode, I am talking about the anger we hold onto and how it is impacting all areas of our lives. It is actually costing us more than we could ever imagine. It is robbing us of opportunities. It is affecting our energy and attracting more of what we DON'T want in our lives. Today I am sharing some tips in my own personal perspective of the impact of anger in our lives! In this episode we talk about: 1. The weight of anger, and how long we decide to carry it determines the impact it has in our lives. 2. Why we are carrying it, what it is doing to us and how it is holding us back from living the lives we are here to live. 3. Anger is such a low vibe emotion and it only attracts more of what we don't want in our lives. 4. Who is the anger hurting, who is it not serving and why are we carrying it? 5. Every day we have opportunities to react, respond and choose our emotions. Life is going to happen to us every single day and we can choose how we respond to what life is throwing at us. Our choices affect everything. Learning to shift our perspective can shift everything. 6. Taking radical responsibility for our choices, our actions, and our reactions can truly make a bigger impact in our lives than we could ever imagine! 7. It can all change when we decide to let go of what is no longer serving us! S2 Ep 70#70: "What Holds Us, Molds Us with Sue Ruhe"
#70: "What Holds Us, Molds Us with Sue Ruhe" Today we chat with Sue Ruhe -- RMT & Cellular Coach Sue is a Registered Massage Therapist of 11 years, focusing primarily on Myofascial Release Therapy (where oils and lotions are not used during treatment). Working with abdominal fascia is her Jam! It's amazing how much anxiety, trauma and stress we hold in that area, which ultimately progresses into pain throughout our entire bodies. She believes that finding and addressing the root cause of pain, is the key to preventing future health issues and avoiding unnecessary medications. She is a wife and a mother of a brilliant 7 year old girl, Avalina, who has faced her own health issues this year. Because of this, along with renovating an entire house, Sue has taken a break from the clinic she's worked at for over a decade, to focus on other projects and to become more of a freelance therapist. She has created the Love Your Cells Podcast, is currently writing in 2 co-author book projects and in the beginning stages of her own publication. Sue wants to teach the world about Fascia by bringing more of an understanding to the masses. In this episode we talk about: 1. Our bodies hold onto trauma in ways we can't even imagine. Everything we "bury" deep within ourselves will eventually find a way to fester and have an adverse affect on our body. 2. Fascia wants to protect us, whereas scar tissue doesn't have the same function as healthy tissue. Scar tissue should not be ignored as we can hold a lot of energy in this tissue that isn't serving us. 3. Take time to get to the source of the issue rather than masking, avoiding or numbing the symptoms. Our fascia system is very powerful and working with it to create alignment in our bodies can help people to reduce pain and anxiety at the cellular level. 4. Learning to love ourselves right down to the cellular level can have an incredible impact on our spiritual, mental and emotional states. 5. Abdominal fascia 6. Trust and tune into your intuition, it is constantly guiding you on the right path. S2 Ep 69#69: Trusting the Process When Life Doesn't Make Sense
#69: Trusting the Process When Life Doesn't Make Sense" In this Monday Mindset Episode, I am talking about how to find a way to trust the process when life doesn't make sense. When we are in the midst of challenges piled on challenges, it's easy to get stuck in the "why questions", the overwhelm and the frustrations. Others tell us to "trust the process and have faith", yet it can feel almost impossible when we are in the thick of it. I have been and, on some level, continue to be challenged to put my lessons into practice in my life. Today I am sharing 6 tips that I find helpful while life just doesn't seem to make sense! In this episode we talk about: 1. Stop asking the questions that start with WHY. The word why is a victim word and it keeps us stuck in our stories. We must shift our questions to the word "what", as that is an action word that keeps us in motion focusing on what we can control, change or fix within ourselves. 2. Ask the universe, "what is this trying to teach me?" We are forever learning lessons in our lives and what if this is here to help you with a lesson that you have yet to embody. We can learn all the lessons, read the books and listen to the podcasts, yet until we embody our lessons and put them into practice, we truly aren't using them yet. That is when we learn. 3. Create a mantra to say to yourself, to ground yourself and keep you focused on what you can control! 4. Ask for help, don't do it alone, stop hiding, and stop feeding the shame. This never works and only keeps us stuck in our shame. Creating your tribe is another podcast episode topic, for now reach out to ask for help and support with people who deserve to hear your story. It is not weakness. Vulnerability is an act of courage. 5. Time block your schedule to match energy with energy. The more we can keep ourselves grounded daily, focused on our "wheelhouse", or area of expertise, matching energy in with energy out, the bigger the difference it can make in our own lives, especially during moments chaos! 6. Surrender, surrender, surrender. Letting go of what you cannot control is a sign of strength and will truly be the most freeing feeling you can imagine! S2 Ep 67#67: "We Never Have it All Figured Out"
#67: "We Never Have It All Figured Out" In this Monday Mindset Episode, I am debunking a common myth or misconception. After interviewing almost 45+ women for the Collaborative Book, there have been some very common misconceptions or thoughts from others that I felt called to address to hopefully stop the stories we keep telling ourselves. The women who have stepped forward to share their chapter in the collaborative book, or even to the people who are sharing their stories publicly in the world do not have it all figured out. Believing that everyone else has it figured out limits what you believe you can do, especially when you hit the wall, which you WILL hit!! We are ALL a work in progress, and we are literally growing every single day. If we are growing and changing every single day, how can we possibly have it all figured out?! In this episode we talk about: 1. When we compare ourselves to others and believe that we can't do x,y,z, because we don't have what someone else has, we are not staying focused or true to our journey. We are allowing our thoughts and energy to be on someone else's journey and that will never create change in our lives. 2. We are ALL a work in progress every single day! 3. We are responsible for building, growing and expanding our own toolbox. Our toolbox is a collection of all of the experiences, lessons and things that we have learned in our lifetime. It is our responsibility to grow our toolbox, no one else's. 4. We are not our stories. We are not our mistakes. Our stories make us who we are, but we are not our stories. We are a result of what we choose to do with what we are given. That is all on us! 5. The people who are showing up in life, sharing their stories in this collaborative book or who are showing up online or in their lives sharing their stories, are not through their challenges. Some of them are truly living in the thick of it every single day! They have built a better toolbox to deal with their lives and they use the lessons they've learned on their journey. 6. It's time for you to stop over planning, stop comparing, stop believing the BS stories that you don't have what it takes to do whatever you want to do in your life. You absolutely do!! You are always only one decision away from a completely different life!! S2 Ep 65#65: "When Our Strengths Become Our Weaknesses"
#65: "When Our Strengths Become Our Weaknesses" In this Monday Mindset Episode, I am sharing one of the most impactful life lessons I have ever learned. Our strengths will take us so far in our lives. They will help us to overcome challenges, achieve our goals and help us to persist when we hit roadblocks. There comes a point in our lives when doing the same thing won't yield different results and we have to learn a new way of living. For most of us, it takes years, a lifetime or never to embrace this lesson. It requires us to accept that we don't have the answer and be open to receiving new answers. This is a growth shift that is necessary for us to create change in our lives. Today I am sharing 5 steps I had to go through to shift my thinking to survive one of the darkest times in my life, and that led me actually thriving in my life. It literally changed everything and I know it can make a massive difference in your life too! In this episode we talk about: 1. Make a list of all of your current strengths. Don't edit, censor or limit yourself. If you really don't know, ask a friend or someone who knows you well. 2. Write down all of the things that your strengths have helped you to overcome. How did your strengths save you and help you to overcome all of the challenges in your life? 3. Write down where you are stuck in your life? What problem or situation are you repeating and how long have you been trying to create change or results in this area? Is it working? How much longer will you stay on this path? 4. How could you look at your approach or this situation differently? How can you shift your perspective? How can you ask for help, try something new or admit that maybe you don't have the answers? What if someone else has the answers you are searching for? Are you open to receiving them? 5. What if it is a completely different approach that will create the change you are looking for? What if your healing process is on the other side of this one shift? S2 Ep 64#64: "Your Mess is Your Message with Krista Kokot"
#64: "Your Mess is Your Message with Krista Kokot" Today we chat with Life Coach and Speaker, Krista Kokot. Krista is a Life coach for women helping them stop the cycle of people pleasing so they can live the life they truly desire. Krista believes that every woman needs someone to truly see her and help her to be heard. She believes we all have a unique purpose on earth and provides gentle, no-nonsense coaching to help each of her clients acknowledge and own their past, thrive in the present moment moving forward, knowing that the future is waiting for them to shine their unique light in this world. This was an incredible episode as we dove into how pain is our biggest motivator and how it is our responsibility to do the healing work so our traumas don't dictate what we can accomplish in our lives. In this episode we talk about: 1. Pain and our past experiences can be our biggest motivator if we choose to learn from it and let it guide us to how we choose to live. 2. Hurt people do hurt people. It is our responsibility to work through our stories with no judgement or criticism of ourselves. The more we do the internal work the more we can stop hiding and impact others. 3. Learning how to unpack your emotions is so important. Listen to the cues and what your body is trying to tell you about the process and how it feels. Don't judge it, listen to what it is telling you. 4. Healing the deep pain is not easy work. Forgiveness is not easy work yet it is the only way we can learn to share our story. 5. Always speak from a place of love and not resentment and anger. Everyone is truly doing the best they can with the information they have at the time. 6. Recognize the tools that work to keep you in a positive, healthy headspace and do whatever you can to have those things in your life on a daily basis. S2 Ep 63#63: "Finding Purpose in Your Story"
#63: "Finding Purpose in Your Story" In this Monday Mindset Episode, we talk about finding our purpose and how to find our purpose in our stories. Finding our purpose in life can feel likes a ton of pressure as though it is this massive thing to uncover. Our purpose is meant to be simple, easy, what lights us up, what fuels us and what feels in alignment. I believe our purpose is also wrapped up in our gifts, talents and abilities and what we choose to do with it is ultimately our choice. I also dive into the 7 steps to uncover our purpose from our stories. In this episode we talk about: 1. Identifying your purpose by recognizing what feeds your energy, what fuels you, lights you up and feels easy or in alignment. 2. The belief that we all have a purpose. It all starts here because if we don't feel we have one that we won't even be able to see our potential purpose. 3. Breaking down our core values, what is important to us, what is part of us, and the 5 – 6 values that become the basis of all of our decisions. 4. The process of writing out your whole story, as far back as you can recall and as much detail as you can remember. When we do this a pattern will start to emerge and you will be able to identify a pattern that you have repeatedly found yourself in in your life. 5. What are the lessons you learned during these challenges, or these patterns you repeated? There were consistently things that you had to learn, grow through, adapt and take on in order to work through your situations. What were they? 6. Where in your story did you feel the most aligned? Where did you feel the most confident, calm, and convicted with your purpose and your path? Do these lessons line up with your values? 7. Are you living in that purpose now? Are you living in it in any area of your life? If not, how aligned do you feel in your current life right now? 8. What are you willing to do about it? We all have our gifts, talents and abilities. #62: "It All Starts with Ownership with Megan Harmony " Today we chat with Soul Coach and Inspirational Speaker, Megan Harmony. Megan is the founder and visionary behind Soulful Sobriety, it's not just a community it's a lifestyle. Megan has overcome many painful and difficult life circumstances and wholeheartedly advocates that it is possible to rise above it while remaining sober and finding reasons to have hope. Her lived experience as well as practical nurse and addiction careworker diplomas make her uniquely qualified to support people through their most trying times. She believes that love is a universal language that everyone understands and devotes her life to spreading it everywhere she goes. She will ignite the flame in your soul when you feel it has flickered out and reminds others of the power within them. She knows there is a spiritual solution to any situation and we need only connect to our soul to find it. Megan is a cheerleader to all and can be found saying "You are beautiful, You are worth it, you deserve an amazing life, and I love you" when people need a boost. The light within her sees the light in everyone she meets. This was an incredible episode as we dove into how pain is our biggest motivator and how being a victim does not serve us or create any change in our lives. In this episode we talk about: 1. Pain can be our biggest motivator if we choose to learn from it and let it guide us to how we choose to live. We don't have to live in pain, staying there is a choice. 2. Living in a victim state or victim mentality doesn't serve us and it never helps us to create change in our lives. 3. All change in our lives starts with taking full ownership and radical responsibility of our choices. 4. The power of the tools to stay on track daily, such as prayer, meditation, journaling and gratitude. 5. Find your tribe who will help you to succeed to be the best version of yourself. If you don't have them now, look for them and create that tribe. We all need that support and we aren't meant to do it alone. 6. Let go of the resentment, the anger, the what if's, the comparison and judgements. None of it serves your higher self and it all holds the energy to keep us stuck. 7. We have to ask for what we need. When we need help to work through a problem, a challenge or a situation, there are times when we must surrender and ask for help. S2 Ep 61#61: "7 Steps to Shifting Your Story"
#61: "7 Steps to Shifting Your Story" In this Monday Mindset Episode we talk about the steps to shifting your story. Our stories have power and we decide how much power those stories have in our lives. It may seem obvious that we have to create a shift in the story, but it can feel overwhelming with where to even start. Our story has whatever meaning we give to it, if we want it to have different meaning, it is up to us to change it. Today I share the 7 steps I have used regularly to shift my perspective in the story which ultimately shifts the power back to me. After 5 weeks of discovery calls with people on how to own, share and write their stories, these were the top points I put together after helping so many women with their stories. In this episode we talk about: 1. The point of decision. Nothing happens without deciding that we want something differently in our lives. It is up to us to decide what we do or don't want in our lives. 2. The power of learning to ask different questions. Stop asking the why, victim questions, and focus on the what am I going to do with this. Learn to ask how can I be more resilient? What am I missing? How can I ask for help? Changing our questions, changes how we think about our circumstances. 3. Being brave with our lives. As Brene Brown says, "Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing we will ever do." Being brave with our lives, helps us to build our courage and this happens whenever we get in to action. Action shifts everything! 4. Be willing to learn from others. We can learn from the journey of others, from their wins, their mistakes, how they overcame their struggles and it gives us ideas and hope for what we can do in our own lives and for what is possible. 5. Self-compassion is a must. Self compassion is learning to honour our journey, believing that we are enough as this gives us the courage to be our true authentic, imperfect and vulnerable selves. 6. Giving ourselves grace for doing the best that we could under the circumstances. If we can make the best decision with the information that we have at that time, that is honouring our process. 7. Start somewhere, literally. Journal, write, speak, get it out of your head, and help to shift the power of your story in your life. It is all possible! S2 Ep 60#60: "Throw the Masks Away & Go After What You Want Most in Life with Ana Jaén"
#60: "Throw the Masks Away & Go After What You Want Most in Life with Ana Jaén" Today we chat with Life Coach, Ana Jaén. Ana is a Life Coach and founder at Masks Off, a project to guide people through the process of taking their masks off (fears, doubts & insecurities) so they have clarity and go after what is truly important to them. Ana does this through 1:1 coaching, workshops and conferences. Her goal is to grow Masks Off into a multifaceted and international platform to help inspire people from all over the world, to live a more intentional, passionate, authentic and joyful life...one step, one mask at a time. Ana believes there is amazingness in each one of us and when we embrace what makes us unique and speak our voice out, incredible things happen!! In this episode we talk about: 1. Why we choose to wear a mask and how we can change everything in our lives by learning to let go of the mask. 2. The power of letting ourselves feel emotions instead of avoiding or numbing them. This creates no change in our lives. We must feel them in order to change anything. 3. We must truly know ourselves, acknowledge what is or isn't working in our lives and course correct and change what needs changing in order to live the life we deserve to live. 4. To trust our intuition requires silence and the space to freely listen. Our intuition is always talking to us. The more we listen the louder the voice becomes. 5. How important it is to change the language and the words we use to speak to ourselves. There is tremendous power in our words. 6. To change anything in our lives requires that we stop blaming others for where our life is at and focus on the gratitude of the present moment. 7. In order for us to show up authentically in our lives we must endure some shadows. It is work, yet it is so worth it! S2 Ep 59#59: "Stop Snowballing Your Fears"
#59: "Stop Snowballing Your Fears" In this Monday Mindset Episode we talk about how easy it is to snowball our fears. We feed them, we let them gain momentum and before we know it they're driving the wheel. We are responsible for that snowball effect. When we find ways to shift from fear to faith we can recognize the snowball, slow it down and stop it all together. We cannot feed our fears and faith at the same time, we must choose one over the other. This goes for anything in our lives. Today I will relate it to the fears we experience when sharing our stories. Today I share the top questions I am asked about our the fears surrounding sharing our stories. I am asked these questions on a consistent basis In this episode we talk about: 1. The fears around not being a great writer, speaker, coach, communicator, or whatever BS story you are telling yourself. This all changes with messy, imperfect action. 2. What will people think of me for sharing my story? What people!?! Tune in for my response. 3. Will people judge me for sharing my story? Guess what my answer is?! 4. What if I don't feel that my story is special or important enough? Our stories all matter because we all matter. Everyone has something to contribute, share and give in this world and our stories create who we are. They make a massive impact in our lives and the sooner we acknowledge that, the sooner we can be on the path to being "free" from the weight of our stories. 5. What to do when you really want to share your story, but you can't stop feeding the fears? 6. Learn to stand ON your story instead of IN it. The reason why it feels like your story doesn't matter is because you are continuing to live in it. When we live in it, we are on a repeat cycle of frustration, comparison, resentment, anger and victimhood. No change comes from this cycle. 7. The power of becoming a pillar of hope for someone else!
