488 | I Can't Wait to be Patient with Dr. Rob Bell

Allow me to introduce you to mental performance coach, and the author of your next favorite book, Dr. Rob Bell.  As a fellow trailblazer in the world of mental performance training, Dr. Rob Bell has accomplished so much, personally and professionally. He is a remarkable endurance athlete and an ironman, and has a passion for sports like golf, swim, ping pong, and chess (yep, we’re calling chess a sport). Rob has also devoted his life to helping others through training teams, organizations, and coaches on mental toughness.   I’ve admired Dr. Rob Bell’s work from afar for many years, but somehow it took recording a podcast episode to get us to finally sit down and have a real conversation. And I can tell you honestly that I’ve never had a conversation quite like this one before.   I asked Rob to join me today because he just finished up his eighth, yes, EIGHTH book, I Can’t Wait To Be Patient . I can’t recommend this book enough. The main theme of his book (and our episode) revolves around (what Rob calls) “the next big topic in mental training.” And that is… PATIENCE. Why it matters, how to practice it, and how it impacts confidence and long-term success, etc.   One of my favorite moments from the episode is when Rob said this: “I think we look at patience as something that is very passive. But that’s not the case at all. It’s about knowing when to be urgent and how to be patient”.   It was hard to choose just one quote, this episode is so dang quotable.   Rob is not only as cool and nice as I hoped, he’s so generous with his time and knowledge, and he has this calm and focused way of bringing clarity to abstract ideas that don’t often get talked about in mental training. The work Rob is doing and writing about is pushing this industry forward, and I can’t wait to see all the conversations and research he inspires. Enjoy the episode, and make sure to get your hands on his book, I Can’t Wait To Be Patient by Dr. Rob Bell.   Follow Dr. Rob Bell Website: www.drrobbell.com Instagram: @drrobbell Book: I Can’t Wait To Be Patient by Dr. Rob Bell    Related Resources: How to Become a Mental Performance Coach: Our latest and greatest FREE ultra-simple guide will show you how YOU can make mindset coaching your full-time career or part-time hustle.  (Even without your PhD!). He starts the episode by chatting with Lindsey about his book-writing process and shares a quick, snapshot description of the book’s main theme.   [7:48] Rob argues that our perception of time has to do with supply and demand, which changes over time.    [12:46] Lindsey asks Rob what his “transitions” are like, in a practical way so that he can toggle between work and life.    [16:48] “We have to play the game, not the context” Rob shares some background on working with golfers and how he coaches his athletes to use mental training from the start of practice.    [19:15] What is the fallout of being “Urgent towards the wrong things?”. Lindsey shares how she sees athletes struggle with this concept every day. Rob explains the problem with the way most people think about patience.    [24:10] “Show me someone that’s confident, and I’ll show you someone that’s patient”. Rob explains how confidence and patience are deeply intertwined and what farmers can teach us about it.    [29:05] Lindsey asks Rob to share some practical tips for coaches who want to be patient, find a rhythm, and trust the results. 485 | How I Made My First 100k (and What I Would Do Differently)

How much can nearly two decades of experience as a mental coach really teach you? When I first got into mindset coaching, Facebook was barely a thing, Tik Tok didn’t exist, most people hadn’t heard of sports psychology or mindset coaching, and the sitting president was George W. Bush.    So yeah, It’s been a JOURNEY.   On this extended episode of The Mindset Coach Academy Podcast, I’m boiling everything I learned down into 5 basic principals to help you build a solid coaching practice from the jump. These princiipals are not based on trends, they are timeless.    From making my first workbooks on powerpoint slides, to what certifications I chose to get (and why I chose them over a masters in sports psychology), I’m putting it all out there.     The reason I made this episode is because I know that many of you are sitting on the sidelines wondering which steps you should take. Or maybe you’ve started your own business and it’s a lot harder than you thought it was going to be and you’re getting frustrated.   Press play to get clarity about where you’re wasting time, energy, and resources, AND see a path forward to reach your goals. Whether that’s 10k, 100k, or your first million, it doesn’t really matter, the same fundamentals apply.    Whatever your goal is, I hope this episode awakens a belief in you that you can do this.    Let’s dive in.  Related Resources: Download our free e-book: “How to Become a Mental Performance Coach”: This FREE ultra-simple guide will show you how YOU can make mindset coaching your full-time career or part-time hustle. 482 | Inside The Mind of Sports Psychiatrist, Dr. Britt

There’s something super special about getting to interview someone you knew as a kid. Especially when they’ve grown up to absolutely crush it in this industry. For me, that’s Dr. Britt Gonsoulin, MD, MPH.    Dr. Britt and I met playing basketball together on our high school team (I have the oversized jersey pic to prove it :). She went on to play D1 basketball while majoring in Kinesiology & Exercise and Sports Sciences, then continued her education at Tulane University School of Medicine. There, she graduated AOA with a dual doctorate and Public Health masters degree in Health Systems Management.    Dr. Britt has collected over 15 years of clinical experience as a Sports Psychiatrist and provides comprehensive in-person and tele-health care from her practice in Bainbridge Island, WA.    To put it plainly, her professional resume is so freaking impressive. So much so that I did something I’ve never done before and invited my MCA students to join us for our interview!    I love this episode because my MCA students got a chance to ask their own burning questions like: “How can we help an athlete filter against an outcome-focused parent or coach?” “How you incorporate cognitive behavior therapy with clients of different ages?” “How do you help kids who are afraid to be honest with their coach because of how it might affect their playing time?”  “What’s the difference between Sports Psychology and Sports Psychiatry?” “When should you enlist the help of a Sports Psychiatrist?”   Dr. Britt is so passionate about the psychiatric side of sports, and working alongside people like her is so vital to this industry expanding.    Thank you Dr. Britt for letting us pick your brain!  Follow Dr. Britt Website: www.bainbridgementalhealth.com  Related Resources: Study: Not Just a Physical Thing: The Psychology of Sports Injuries and Recovery: You can read this study (mentioned in the episode) here: https://answers.childrenshospital.org/psychology-sports-injury-recovery/ How to Become a Mental Performance Coach: Our latest and greatest FREE ultra-simple guide will show you how YOU can make mindset coaching your full-time career or part-time hustle.  (Even without your PhD!). Dr. Britt explains the difference between Sport Psychiatry and Sport Psychology. [9:20] When should you enlist the help of a Sport Psychiatrist? When should clients be referred to one during coaching?    [13:32] Since the pandemic, there’s been more public dialogue about mental health, and mental health issues appear to be more prevalent. Dr. Britt weighs in.    [19:30] Dr. Britt shares what exactly led her to her career in Sport Psychiatry.   [21:20] Performance anxiety is consistent across industries, Dr. Britt shares how she breaks apart, analyzes, and treats athletes with performance anxiety.    [26:30] Ken asks Dr. Britt the question, “Do you incorporate cognitive behavior therapy with clients? How do you use it with different age groups?” and “How do you help kids who are afraid of what their coach might think and how that might affect their playing time?”    [30:51] Dr. Britt shares an acronym, “S.E.T”, to illustrate the framework of how to build a healthy coach/athlete relationship early on. Lindsey asks her for some case study examples of her practice.    [36:27] Lindsey asks Dr. Britt to explain how her experience as a D1 athlete informs her work as a Sport Psychiatrist.    [38:00] Pete asks, “What can we do to help young athletes overcome the amount of stress that’s put on them?” Dr Britt talks about how she coaches her 10 year old kid to keep what really matters in perspective (Hint: The Harlem Globetrotters might help)   [44:25] Dr. Britt argues that the tough environment of sports can actually be a tool to help young athletes develop emotional resilience and emotional intelligence sooner.    [45:04] Lyne asks, “What is the impact of injuries to athletes and their mindset?”. Dr. Britt explains how the body and mind’s response to physical trauma is widely varied and unpredictable. The group discusses the importance of mental health resources for injured players.    [50:22] Krista asks, “How can we help an athlete filter against an outcome-focused parent or coach?” Dr. Britt advocates for helping athletes create the

479 | MCA Launch 2023

Today, I’m talking about The Mindset Coach Academy Certification. This episode is for anyone who is curious about what it’s really like to join The MCA Certification. I’m answering questions like: What does a typical week look like in The MCA Certification? How does this certification differ from others? What is the value of joining The MCA community? How will I be supported after I graduate? What tangible resources will I receive during this course?  Is this certification right for me and my business goals?  What is a Performance Visualization Specialist? What will this certification qualify me to do?    I created this certification to equip people who are passionate about mindset coaching with the tools they need to start a fulfilling, profitable, business with real impact and results.  To help people like you bring mindset coaching into the world so that you can teach others the mental skills we all need to achieve our biggest goals, in and out of sports. If you follow me, you might know all of this already. But something I haven’t talked a lot about is what it’s really like to be a student in The MCA Certification.  From the application process (and why we have one), to the very real benefits of joining a community of aspiring mindset coaches, and the practicalities of how we equip you to work with teams long after graduation, I’ll lay it all on the table. I believe wholeheartedly in our certification. I have years of evidence to support that the MCA Certification takes people to a place where they can work with clients, build a profitable business, get results, and create value in the world.  I hope this episode gives you clarity about whether or not The MCA Certification is right for you.  Our next MCA Certification course starts in October. I hope to see you there!   -Lindsey Related Resources: How to Become a Mental Performance Coach: Our latest and greatest FREE ultra-simple guide will show you how YOU can make mindset coaching your full-time career or part-time hustle.  (Even without your PhD!). 475 | Ken & Amy: Why You Need Community To Build Your Business

It’s my pleasure to introduce you to Amy Oliphant and Ken Bizup. Both of my guests today are PPT Certified Mindset Coaches and current Team Captains for The MCA. Amy is the founder of Transcend Mental Training in Chicago. She works with athletes, hockey players, swimmers, and, as she puts it, “any athlete that crosses my path”. She is also starting to do presentations for corporations and small groups. Amy was the first coach we recruited to be a Team Captain, and we are so thankful to have her. We’ve interviewed Amy before, so you might recognize her!  Ken Bizop has been working as a mental performance coach for over 10 years, and joined The MCA Certification just 1 year ago.  As Ken explains it, “I needed a recipe for success and MCA was clearly the next course of action.” Today, he continues to run his company, Athletes Mental Trainer, where his goal is to “unlock true athletic potential” by training the mind.  As MCA Team Captains, Ken and Amy are responsible for mentoring small groups of MCA students as they progress through the program. They hold bonus weekly coaching calls where they connect with their team to offer additional help, answer questions, and build relationships with coaches who are going through our program.  These breakout groups have been proven to be one of the most valuable parts of our MCA Certification. They’ve led to lifelong friendships, business opportunities, and invaluable emotional support. Students from the breakout groups have gone on to coach one another’s kids, hire one another, brainstorm marketing tactics, share advice on offerings and proposals, and, most importantly, learn from one another in a safe and welcoming space.  As entrepreneurs, this level of community is so hard to find and part of what makes The MCA the best mindset coaching program in the world.  Enjoy this episode with two of my favorite people, our incredible coaches, and kickass MCA Team Captains, Amy and Ken!   Follow Amy:  Instagram: @transcendmentaltraining  Facebook: Transcend Mental Training   Follow Ken: Website: Athletesmentaltrainer.com Related Resources: How to Become a Mental Performance Coach: Our latest and greatest FREE ultra-simple guide will show you how YOU can make mindset coaching your full-time career or part-time hustle.  (Even without your PhD!). Ken shares how the MCA community gave him a safe space to practice as he grew as a coach. They discuss how the community plays a massive role in the success of MCA graduates.   [7:19] As an early adopter, Amy didn’t have the advantage of breakout groups when she went through The MCA as a student. She talks about the safety and camaraderie she sees in breakout groups today as an MCA Team Captain.     [8:52] Lindsey asks the question, “In what ways are small groups better than 1:1 coaching?”    [12:10] “I don’t do baindaids” Ken shares how he uses role playing and collaboration within the group to help his team coach eachother. 472 | The 6 Step Framework That Will Change How You Coach

The other day, I was talking to MCA graduate and fighter pilot, Tammy Barlette, who told me that so much of what I teach are mental skills that she’s been practicing her whole life. She just didn’t know she was doing them, and certainly didn’t know how to teach them. If you’re a coach, I bet you can relate. Chances are you have lots of mental skills and habits you naturally fall back on to: Prepare for competition Recover from a mistake Move on from a tough game Settle your nerves and focus when it matters most. If you’ve competed throughout your life, you probably picked up many of these skills along the way. But just because you might know how to do it, doesn’t mean you know how to teach it. Today I am sharing a 6-step mental training framework that is, frankly, game-changing. I dare to say, life-changing. Each step is easy to understand, easy to explain, and a quick win that builds the mental skills foundations that your athletes need to be successful in sports and in life. The beauty in this framework is that each step is so simple and easy to implement and can be infinitely built upon as your athletes progress. 90-95% of athletes and coaches need to hear this message. It’s proven and it works. Instead of wasting precious time going down the rabbit hole and throwing spaghetti against the wall trying to see what sticks, press play and tell me which of these 6 steps you need to work on the most. 469 | Manifesting, Motherhood, and Making it happen with Certified Mindset Coach Bianca Campbell

Bianca Campbell is an example of what is POSSIBLE! Working with aspiring mindset coaches over many years, I’ve had the pleasure of coaching and cheering on some of the most inspirational people in this industry. And even in a room of high achievers and entrepreneurial badasses, Bianca Campbell stands. As a former collegiate and professional basketball player, Bianca founded RISE Mindful Performance to help athletes use mindfulness and mental skills training to embrace and navigate the demands of their sport. Her goal is to help athletes improve their well-being, have more fun, and perform at their highest level - in sports and in life. When Bianca first joined The Mindset Coach Academy, she applied the same unquenchable passion and take-no-prisoners attitude that made her successful in sports into moving through fear and doubt to build her business from the ground up. In this episode, Bianca shares how she came to Mindset Coaching through countless hours of studying, researching, and manifesting. How (and why) she pushed herself to join The MCA as a brand new mom, and where she found the money to make it happen. She opens up about the various emotional ups and downs, and her very relatable self-sabotaging thoughts such as, “I can’t live my dream AND be a good wife and mother”. As she told her MCA class, “I just know that I am not meant to be mediocre”. It’s this relentless seeking of excellence that palpably inspires those around her. Bianca has a unique way of making you believe that anything is possible, and reminding you that you have a responsibility to live the highest representation of yourself. Join me in celebrating Bianca’s journey! Her goal is to build a 6 figure business and do mindset coaching full time.  [5:38] Bianca talks about her desire to “live the highest expression of who I am before I die.” And how she pushed herself to join the MCA in spite of (maybe because of) becoming a new mom. [8:54] Bianca shares how she found Positive Performance Training and The Mindset Coach Academy in her search for something more (shout out to Amy Oliphant and Breanne Smedley!) using manifestation exercises, cold calls, and boots-on-the-ground effort. [12:19] Money is only an obstacle if you let it be! Bianca shares how she found the money for The MCA Certification. Lindsey comments that Bianca’s take-no-prisoners attitude is a learned skill. [17:03] Lindsey and Bianca talk about how being mothers impacts the way they show up for themselves. The bottom line: You’ve got to work on learning to trust yourself AND have compassion for yourself. [22:15] In Lindsey’s words, if you are pushing yourself, you will have self-doubt. Bianca shares a personal story about her feelings of overwhelm with juggling her family, kid, full time job, and trying to build her business, and how she moved through it. [27:41] “I believed that I couldn’t live my dream AND be a good wife and mother”. Bianca shares how she navigated self-sabotaging thoughts with some help from the PPT Insider’s Group. [32:58] Bianca reflects on the time she almost quit LIndsey’s program and how she gained clarity and confidence when she needed it the most. [39:24] For a mindset coach, creating that first offer or program is a huge step. [43:29] Lindsey asks Bianca, “What’s next for you?” In Bianca’s words, “The effort is becoming more effortless [...] I’m enjoying the hard [...] and I’m really proud of myself”.   ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rate, Review, & Follow on Apple Podcasts “I love Lindsey’s straight forward, realistic approach to motivation and living your best life.”  <– If that sounds like you, we'd love for you to rate and review the podcast!  This helps us reach more high performers — just like you — on a personal growth journe

466 | What To Do When You Hate Your Clients or Athletes

Are you passionate about what you do? Chances are, if you’re a coach, mindset coach, or entrepreneur, your PASSION is what motivates you to do what you do. To put yourself out there, kick ass, and take no prisoners. All for the greater good. But that’s an episode for another day. THIS episode is about that moment when we, as passionate leaders, realize our clients aren’t matching our passion. This can be a brutal wakeup call. Because, while there’s a lot that we CAN control, the one thing we can’t control are other people’s actions or how they show up to be coached. Sometimes it doesn’t matter how great your leadership is or how much you want your clients to succeed. Sometimes, something is just not working. And this can lead to feelings of frustration, resentment, failure, blame. In today’s extended episode of The Mindset Coach Academy Podcast, I’m taking an honest look at the negative feelings that you might have toward your clients or athletes. And shining a light on how these feelings can impact the way that YOU show up. Here’s what I cover: : The caring/impact dichotomy. Hint: Sometimes caring MORE isn’t the answer. How to have a deep and lasting impact AND stay positive The 1 thing that you might be doing that 100% won’t work Real life examples of how these negative thoughts manifest in myself and my mindset coaching students How the confirmation bias makes it hard to see what’s really going on. A mindset exercise that can actually change things for the better. If you’ve ever secretly thought: “I hate my clients” (or athletes), I’m here to tell you that is ABSOLUTELY NORMAL. This episode is not about adding more shame or guilt or gaslighting your feelings of frustration. This episode is about helping you move forward so you can continue to be proud about how YOU show up. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Related Mental Training Resources: Tap Into Your True Power Guided Visualization: For help on letting go of self-limiting narratives and stepping into your true purpose, make our Tap Into Your True Power Guided Visualization part of your daily mindset practice: www.positiveperformancetraining.com/offers/kig3abUL/checkout The Mindset Coach Academy: If you are ready to step into your purpose as a Positive Performance Certified Mindset Coach, join our waitlist to be the first to know when enrollment opens: www.positiveperformancetraining.com/MCACertification ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rate, Review, & Follow on Apple Podcasts “I love Lindsey’s straight forward, realistic approach to motivation and living your best life.”  <– If that sounds like you, we'd love for you to rate and review the podcast!  This helps us reach more high performers — just like you — on a personal growth journey to become better leaders, competitors, and humans. Click here, scroll to the bottom, tap to rate with five stars, and select “Write a Review.” Let us know what you loved most about the episode! 460 | How to Really Make 100k as a Mindset Coach

As an athlete, I knew I wanted to play basketball professionally, and I also knew that in order to play professionally, I’d have to start with making my high school team. Only then could I hope to make play college, then finally professionally. In sports, the steps are laid out, there’s no rushing them. You do them one step at a time, you don’t expect to skip steps, and you don’t feel impatient about the amount of time it takes to achieve that goal. You understand that it is a process. So why is it that we expect immediate success in business? One of the biggest mistakes I see my mindset coaching students make when building their business is going too big, too, fast, and expecting immediate results. But let me tell you something: Rushing things puts you on a fast track to NOWHERE. In today’s extended episode of The Mindset Coach Academy, I’m coaching you to do the work to reach 100k in your mindset coaching business. I’m sharing the strategy I use with MCA graduates to help you hit that first BIG money milestone in a calm. measured, and focused way. In a way that allows you to make decisions based on growth, not panic. If your goal is to hit 100k in your business, press play and take notes! THIS is the work. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Related Mental Training Resources: Tap Into Your True Power Guided Visualization: For help on letting go of self-limiting narratives and stepping into your true purpose, make our Tap Into Your True Power Guided Visualization part of your daily mindset practice: www.positiveperformancetraining.com/offers/kig3abUL/checkout The Mindset Coach Academy: If you are ready to step into your purpose as a Positive Performance Certified Mindset Coach, join our waitlist to be the first to know when enrollment opens: www.positiveperformancetraining.com/MCACertification   ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rate, Review, & Follow on Apple Podcasts “I love Lindsey’s straight forward, realistic approach to motivation and living your best life.”  <– If that sounds like you, we'd love for you to rate and review the podcast!  This helps us reach more high performers — just like you — on a personal growth journey to become better leaders, competitors, and humans. Click here, scroll to the bottom, tap to rate with five stars, and select “Write a Review.” Let us know what you loved most about the episode! 457 | Why You Should Niche Down

MINDSET COACHES: Who is your target audience? If you can’t answer this question plainly, you need to niche down. Because if you’re not speaking to a specific person, you’re most likely getting lost in the noise. The good news is, you don’t have to do any of this blindly. Today, Lindsey is teaching how to niche down wisely and strategically. Using what she knows about sales psychology and pulling from her boots-on-the-ground experience, Lindsey asks the hard-hitting questions to help you find your target audience. --------------------Are you an aspiring Mindset Coach? 456 | 7 Steps to Getting Out Of Your Own Way with Byron Morrison

On this very special episode of The Mindset Coach Academy Podcast, I got to sit down with 3 time best selling author, speaker, and Mindset and High-Performance Coach, Byron Morrison. Just a few months before its much-anticipated release, Byron is promoting his upcoming book, “Maybe You Should Give Up”. This book is a counterintuitive guide that helps readers identify and break through seven mental barriers that are stopping them from living the life they want. In this interview, Byron takes us through each one of the seven mental barriers. One thing I love about this interview is that Byron takes the time to give so many real-world examples that perfectly illustrate each point and make this interview SO engaging and actionable. From counteracting worst-case-scenario thoughts, to helping you rise above reactivity, Byron offers cycle-breaking techniques to empower you to get out of your own way. It’s clear that Byron is a living, breathing example of what he teaches. I can say with certainty that if the book is anything like this interview, it’s a gold mine. As you listen to today’s episode, I challenge you to consider all seven mental barriers, then start working on the two or three that trigger you the most. Listen to my episode with Byron Morrison, listen to it again, maybe even three times (it’s that good)  and order your advance copy of his book, “Maybe You Should Give Up”, available everywhere on June 27th, 2023! Follow Byron Book: www.byronmorrison.co.uk/maybeyoushouldgiveup Website: www.byronmorrison.com YouTube: www.youtube.com/c/ByronMorrison LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/in/authorbyronmorrison/ Instagram: @authorbyronmorrison E-Book Placeholder - Add description and link when ready! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here’s a glance at this episode: [0.:32] Byron introduces himself with a brief overview of his experience and an overview of his latest book, “Maybe You Should Give Up”. [2:53] Byron explains why living your life in a state of reaction is a damaging habit. He offers a few tips to help you rise above reactivity and tells a personal example involving a noisy group of kids on a train. [6:52] Every new level of success will require you to overcome mental roadblocks. Lindsey and Byron discuss what happens in your brain when you challenge self-limiting thoughts. [10:01] Byron teaches an actionable mental exercise when you notice “worst-case-scenario thoughts”  and shares a real world example of this coaching in action. [13:17] It’s uncomfortable to invest in yourself, or train hard, or try hard enough that you could epically fail. Byron explains why he believes your goal has to be bigger than consequence of doing it. [18:23] Are you worrying too much about problems that haven’t happened yet? Byron’s 4th mental roadblock in his book dives into the importance of bringing your focus into the present moment.  [20:15] Social Media is a highlight reel, it never shows the whole picture. Lindsey and Byron urge you to break the cycle of comparison with a targeted mindset shift. [25:25] The 6th mental roadblock in Byron’s book relates to self-worth and self-compassion. Speaking directly to high achievers, he explains why the solution isn’t always ‘trying harder’. [31:55] Are you putting off your happiness? Byron talks about why his 7th mental roadblock is the goal of everything else in his book. [33:25] “Maybe You Should Give Up” explores 7 ways we self-sabotage and how to get out of our own way. Lindsey gives a quick review of each of the 7 mental roadblocks. [34:26] Wrapping up the episode, Lindsey asks Byron five rapid fire questions. Byron shares his goal of speaking globally on the heels of his book launch and talks a bit about his family.   ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rate, Review, & Follow on Apple Podcasts “I love Lindsey’s straight forward, realistic approach to motivation and living your best life.”  <– If that sounds like you, we'd love for you to rate and review the podcast!  This helps us reach more high performers — just like you — on a personal growth journey to become better leaders, competitors, and humans. Click here, scroll to the bottom, tap to rate with five stars, and select “Write a Review.” Let us know what you loved most about the episode! 453 | Coach Yourself to Clarity

Ever heard of a little thing called the confirmation bias? The confirmation bias is a fancy way of saying that your brain is always looking for evidence that you are right. In his famous quote, Henry Ford said it well, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can't – you're right,” As mindset coaches, we see this all the time: From the athlete that believes their coach ‘has it out’ for them to the colleague who deep down doesn’t really think their business is going to be successful. We’ve all seen the confirmation bias limit and sabotage. But did you know that the confirmation bias can just as easily create opportunity and help you succeed? All it takes is some targeted mindset work. In this extended episode of The Mindset Coach Academy podcast, Lindsey is coaching you through feelings of overwhelm, confusion, inadequacy by training your confirmation bias to work FOR you instead of against you. With a few simple mindset tweaks, Lindsey will help you change your thoughts to experience a positive ripple effect. As she reminds you in the episode, “productive thoughts lead to better emotions, actions, and results.” Do not let yourself become a victim of your circumstances, press play, follow along, and experience an immediate shift. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Related Mental Training Resources: For help on letting go of self-limiting narratives and stepping into your true purpose, make our Tap Into Your True Power Guided Visualization part of your daily mindset practice: https://www.positiveperformancetraining.com/offers/kig3abUL/checkout  ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rate, Review, & Follow on Apple Podcasts “I love Lindsey’s straight forward, realistic approach to motivation and living your best life.”  <– If that sounds like you, we'd love for you to rate and review the podcast!  This helps us reach more high performers — just like you — on a personal growth journey to become better leaders, competitors, and humans. Click here, scroll to the bottom, tap to rate with five stars, and select “Write a Review.” Let us know what you loved most about the episode! 447 | The Power of Simple Goals

High achievers LOVE goals. But often, the goal we focus on is big. We want to quit our job and start a company, get in shape, go back to school to finish our degree… etc. But hyperfocusing on a big goal (that may take many many years to achieve) can get a little stale, even discouraging. Even the most disciplined of us can’t function long-term on willpower alone. Have you ever tried to run up a big hill from a dead stop at the bottom? Yeah, it’s like that. This month in The Mindset Coaching Collective, I gave my students an assignment. And today, I’m giving the same one to you. It’s super simple, something you can start today, and unbelievably powerful. Why? Because this assignment will give you something that every one of us can benefit from… MOMENTUM! It will remind you that you are type of person who does what they say they’re going to do. That you’re someone who is brave enough to make commitments and keep your commitments, and that you are powerful, disciplined, and more than capable of achieving your biggest goals. If you love actionable episodes with clear takeaways and easy wins this one’s for you! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Related  Mental Training Resources: For help in letting go of self-limiting narratives and stepping into your true purpose, make our Tap Into Your True Power Guided Visualization part of your daily mindset practice: https://www.positiveperformancetraining.com/offers/kig3abUL/checkout   ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rate, Review, & Follow on Apple Podcasts “I love Lindsey’s straight forward, realistic approach to motivation and living your best life.”  <– If that sounds like you, we'd love for you to rate and review the podcast!  This helps us reach more high performers — just like you — on a personal growth journey to become better leaders, competitors, and humans. Click here, scroll to the bottom, tap to rate with five stars, and select “Write a Review.” Let us know what you loved most about the episode! [31:10] When parents call in, Keenan tells them, “There is nothing wrong with your kid.” Lindsey and Keenan discuss how this one statement has a huge ripple effect. 441 | The Discipline Of The Upward Spiral

Lindsey is recording from the parking lot of a Costco today. Why? Because she's hustling to get s*** done. Which, un-coincidentally, is the point of today's podcast. For many of us, being productive is easy... if you catch us on the right day. But we all have bad days where we wake up on the wrong side of the bed and struggle to pull ourselves out of it, much less get anything done. Today, Lindsey gives actionable tips to help you reverse your next slump, and reminds you that your mindset is always in your control. 440 | The 3 Things You Must Do With Your Team and Athletes

The mental game is the game. I know, I know, I’m preaching to the choir. Chances are, YOU KNOW that the mental game IS the game because you’ve seen it AND you’ve lived it. You’ve seen your best athletes crumble under pressure, your championship team go on a losing streak after one bad game. Chances are, you yourself have struggled to get your mind right for competition. But it’s one thing to know that the mental game IS the game, and a whole other thing to train it. Training the mental game can feel daunting and confusing and it can be hard to know where to start, especially if you have limited time, money, or resources. That’s why I recorded this episode! Today, I’m teaching a super simple and very impactful outline for any brand new or seasoned mindset coaching program. I’m telling you the 3 most important things you should be doing with your athletes to build a hard-hitting mental training program in a way that just makes sense. It’s everything you need (and nothing you don’t) to build your program from the ground up and teach your athletes that they have control of their thoughts. This episode is VITAL for coaches, athletes of every level, aspiring mindset coaches, and really everyone who wants to show up better. Resources mentioned in this episode: The BRAVR Method: The first step in your mental training routine. This hard-hitting, 5-minute mental training exercise helps your athletes get in the right headspace to perform, regardless of the uncontrollables. The BRAVR Method incorporates breathing, affirmations, visualization, and mindfulness to be a powerful, all-in-one, pre-practice mental training tool for athletes of every level. The Mistake Ritual Magic Workshop: When your athletes turn the ball over, dribble it off their foot, strike out, or miss a penalty kick, do they have the tools to bounce back? Teach your athletes to recover from failure in the moment with The Mistake Ritual Magic Workshop. The Psychology of Competition: Our online certification course that teaches you how to help your athletes build pre-competition, in-competition and post-competition routines, so they approach every competition calm, focused and prepared. Note: The Psychology of Competition course includes The BRAVR Method and The Mistake Ritual.
