After two decades of secret sexual behavior, Nate was discovered by his wife. That's when he finally sought help. In 2004, Nate and a few friends launched the Samson Society in Franklin, Tennessee, as a place where Christian men of every description – not just those battling addiction – can bring their real selves, say the real truth, and walk together in the light. The Samson Society has grown to more than 400 local groups and dozens of virtual groups that connect online. You can learn more about Nate's story in the book "Samson and the Pirate Monks: Calling Men to Authentic Brotherhood," which was published by Thomas Nelson in 2007, or his I Am Second video on YouTube. Nate also wrote, with NASCAR legend Darrell Waltrip, "Sundays Will Never Be the Same: Racing, Tragedy, and Redemption – My Life in America's Fastest Sport" (Simon and Schuster 2012). The 20 Attributes of a Godly Man. How Do You Measure Up? w/ Gene Getz EP 255
Gene Getz speaks of the 20 attributes of a man. We have to ask ourselves, How do we measure up? There are thousands of books published every year. However, very few stay in print—especially for years! "The Measure of a Man" is one of those exceptions. It has never gone out of print for over 40 years! This amazing publishing story began in 1973! Dr. Gene Getz had just launched the first Fellowship Bible Church the previous year in November. Word spread and growth was immediate in this new and innovative environment. Reflecting on those early months, Gene shared his immediate concern that numerical growth parallel spiritual growth. "I didn't want a church that was a mile wide and an inch thick," he said. "I was certainly not opposed to quantitative growth. After all, the first church in Jerusalem grew by leaps and bounds. But the New Testament is clear! All of the New Testament letters focus on spiritual growth—measuring up to the stature of the fullness of Christ" (Ephesians 4:11-16). https://bibleprinciples.org/measure-of-a-man/ Get Your Copy Now! of Tell Them, What Great Fathers Tell Their Sons and Daughters www.meninthearena.org Men in the Arena Books and Swag Support the Podcast

Today, some 30,000 people worship in approximately 12 churches in the Dallas area alone and hundreds of Fellowship churches throughout the United States trace their roots back to Gene's church planting efforts. Gene is also a prolific author. Most of his 60 books have grown out of his experience as a pastor. "The Measure of a Man" has become a classic and is used around the world for personal and group study. His books, "The Measure of a Healthy Church" and "Elders and Leaders: God's Plan for Leading the Church" (both published by Moody) remain breakthrough biblical studies for church leaders. Keith Collins shares about his book, Fatherless. Keith Collins believes that we are all more than our past. Then he helplessly watched as a string of males entered his life without any commitment to being the father figure he needed. Collins faced many challenges and obstacles for several years as he struggled to find his way. Collins, who today travels the country motivating men and fathers to rise above their past, shares a practical roadmap that guides men to learn from their life experiences and reach their fullest God given potential. While offering insight into his personal experiences, Collins also examines the biblical and societal role of the male in today's society, the effects of a fatherless household, the victim mentality, and the ABCs of salvation. Included with each chapter are introspective questions that will help men look within for answers, discover self limiting beliefs, and unleash the endless possibilities. Fatherless shares a guidance and wisdom that empowers and encourages men to overcome obstacles and become all they are called to be.
