So get set for a little bit of everything! in this week’s episode of #everybodyneedsabitofscienza! More about today’s guest: In little more than 40 years, Vittorio Moretti, one of the great lords of Italian wine, starting from that Franciacorta of which he can be considered one of the noble fathers, has built one of the most important groups of Italian wine. A small but very prestigious empire between Lombardy, Tuscany and Sardinia, a reality with 65 million euros of turnover, 8.5 million bottles produced, 548 employees, and 1,154 hectares of vineyards divided into six wineries, built from scratch or acquired: from Bellavista to Contadi Castaldi, in Franciacorta, from Petra in Suvereto, Acquagiusta Tenuta La Badiola in Maremma and Teruzzi in San Gimignano, and Sella & Mosca in Sardinia. And now, at the top of that kingdom, it's time for a succession, with Vittorio Moretti (who remains, however, president of Holding Terra Moretti, engaged in construction and hospitality of the highest level, with realities such as L'Albereta in Franciacorta and L'Andana in Maremma, ed.), who has decided to entrust the scepter of the Terra Moretti Vino group to his daughter Francesca, second-born, oenologist and active in the wine sector since 1997, and CEO since 2016. Who will have at her side one of the most experienced managers of Italian wine, Massimo Tuzzi. Learn more about Sella & Mosca in Sardinia by visiting: www.sellaemosca.com/site/en/la_tenuta/ About this podcast: Welcome to another installment of #everybodyneedsabitofscienza. Class is in session! S4 Ep 724Ep. 724 Natalia Simeti | Wine, Food & Travel With Marc Millon

Episode 724 Marc Millon interviews Natalia Simeti of Bosco Falconeria, in this episode of Italian Food & Wine with Marc Millon on the Italian Wine Podcast. About today’s guest: The farm at Bosco Falconeria, located some 40 miles west of Palermo in the hills overlooking the Gulf of Castellammare has belonged to the Simeti family since 1933, when it was a 25-acre farm dedicated mainly to vineyards, with a cellar in which there were seven platforms for treading the grapes, and where as many as 30 people worked during the grape harvest. Family problems, the agricultural crisis and the 1968 earthquake resulted in a period of abandonment, until in the early ‘seventies the farmhouse was restored as a vacation home. From then on summers and weekends became busier and busier. The passionate involvement of Antonio Simeti, agronomist, married the curiosity of his wife, Mary Taylor Simeti, who in the early ‘80’s - while exporting Sicily to the States through books and articles - began to bring back information about organic agriculture. Thus the vacation house returned to productivity, the property grew from the original 25 acres to over 35, the crops became diversified. In 1989, with Bosco Falconeria as its trademark, the farm obtained official organic certification. The following year the Simetis made the farm their permanent residence. For the last ten years Bosco Falconeria has bottled its own organic extra virgin olive oil, has furnished fresh organic fruit and vegetables to speciality stores in Palermo, and has often bottled its own organic wine. The family has grown as well: Natalia Simeti and her Finnish husband Rami Salo, a Tai Chi Chuan instructor, have decided to make Bosco their home and to take over the management of the farm. On returning to England he set about studying everything he could and found himself with a job in a brand new wine shop with big dreams. He began importing small quantities of wines from small, boutique growers all over the South of Italy. As his adventures continued he realised that his passions were shifting more towards communication - journalism and publishing. he was inspired to write and this overpowered his enthusiasm for building a retail business. And so, after a period of study, endless travel and a lot of reflection on how to share his knowledge and experiences, Paul created Vinorandum.com. S4 Ep 710Ep. 710 Diego Bosoni | On The Road Edition

Welcome to episode 710 - On The Road Edition with Stevie Kim. Today Stevie is in Milan, sitting down with Diego Bosoni of Lunae Bosoni. Stevie Kim was able to talk to him during the incredibly unusual vertical tasting of Vermentino, and she got the chance to do this with a special wine called Numero Chiuso from Lunae Bosoni Winery! About today’s guest & Winery: Diego Bosoni and his family have been making wine for five generations. The Lunae Bosoni winery is located right on the edge of the Liguria region on the border with Tuscany, in the lush Lunigiana area. They carry on the long winemaking tradition of these places, based on the principles of ancient practices, the valorisation of local and forgotten vines, and respect for the cycles of nature. Among the rows of vines, located between the plains and the hills, and subdivided into small plots of 2-3 hectares, we find interesting and unobtainable varieties, such as Pollera Nera, Massaretta, Vermentino Nero and Albarola, alongside the undisputed star of the area, Vermentino. The Ca' Lunae, is the former winery building where the wines mature and the great bottles are stored, If you want to learn more about today’s winery, you can by visiting: cantinelunae.com/en/ More about the host Stevie Kim: Stevie hosts Clubhouse sessions each week (visit Italian Wine Club & Wine Business on Clubhouse), these recorded sessions are then released on the podcast to immortalize them! Bentu Luna is the name of the estate which is situated in Neonelli and is the brain child of Gabriele Moratti (owner of Castello di Cigognola estate in Oltrepò Pavese). It is managed by CEO Gian Matteo Baldi. Its story is not just one of regenerating vineyards. Beyond that, it also looks to the tradition of community and viticulture in rural Sardegna. A tradition in which each family becomes a stakeholder in the communal vineyard. This 1200-hectare vineyard project is planted to a mix of indigenous varieties that include percentages of Bovale sardo, Cannonau, Monica, Pascale, Cagnulari, Carignano, Vermentino and Barbera. Find out more about by visiting: www.vivino.com/IT/en/ or download the app: www.vivino.com/app About today’s guest: The Buglioni family are grape farmers the Valpolicella’s – started in the early 90s out of the courage and foresight of Alfredo Buglioni and later his son Mariano who chose to devote himself to winemaking and becoming one of the most important producers in the Valpolicella. Starting from their first 3.5 hectares of vineyard purchased with the house where the family still lives today, the two "Teste Dure" grow their own grapes on 50 hectares of vineyards in the Valpolicella Classica and 5 hectares in Lugana, these have been organically run since 2019. A strong passion leads Alfredo and Mariano Buglioni to produce distinctive and elegant wines with native Valpolicella grapes alongside some more unusual and almost forgotten ones to highlight the authentic character of the territory. These wines express an individuality also sold in 5 experience places in Verona and Valpolicella, where different cuisines enhance each label. This path rewarded me with an understanding of what wine really is…a centerpiece of gatherings with families and friends; something to facilitate celebration. When visiting family wineries in Europe, I found the experience to be like an invitation to a family gathering, and I admired the passion of the winemakers for their craft. I launched Wide Roots to bring the essence of this experience to more wine drinkers, hoping to help them in unlocking this world much the same way that I did for myself. I am certified by Vinitaly International Academy as an Italian Wine Ambassador. I have traveled extensively in Europe, having visited wine estates in Italy, Spain, France, Greece, and Austria. My prior experience includes operations management, finance, product management, supply and demand management, and engineering. I have managed organizations as large as 90 people."
