Azura Zainal
We have come to know and love this person over the years, but if there’s one thing she will always be remembered for it’s that Azura Zainal was the Disney Channel girl. Alongside her partner-in-crime, Jien, both of them were the quintessential faces of our childhood days. What can we say? We get very nostalgic sometimes. Directly after high school, Azura entered a competition for Disney Channel and she beat out thousands of other entries to grab the elusive spot as a presenter on Disney Buzz. But besides that, Azura has delved into other various entertainment jobs. Her resumé for emceeing alone stands tall among the crowd for she has been the master of ceremonies for every imaginable party, event, function, press release or launch party that we could think of. Also, she ventured into radio work as she became an announcer for both Hitz.FM and RED FM. Her love for charity work has also been influential both in her life and others when she was helping BRAT, Roda Impian, Pan Pacific and many more. In her own personal life, Azura is an adventurist and she enjoys doing extreme things like scuba diving with sharks, climbing active volcanoes, abseiling and white water rafting. Some notable mentions of her emceeing work involve companies like CIMB, Amcorp, Standard Chartered, Nestle, The Star, F&N, U-Mobile, Hard Rock Hotel, Head & Shoulders and etc. If you liked what you’ve heard, then head on over to the website! (Untitled) #27 feat. Permission to Land, by The Darkness
Seventies revival bands aren't anything new, but The Darkness were a different proposition in 2003. Permission to Land begins just as it means to go on: scintillating guitar riffs, Hawkins' falsetto voice and some damned good tunes which have an instant appeal. At a compact 38 minutes, it's over before it gets irritating, leaving you with an impression of overwrought headache-rock fronted by a gale-force falsetto. Joey Ghazlan
Most of Southeast Asia knows him as Joey G, but to some he is known as Joey Ghazlan. He was the man who used to entertain us through the television screen and introduced us to popular music on Channel [V]. With his boyish charm, appealing accent and on-screen good looks, he was very influential towards his audiences and he still does that today. During his Channel [V] days, he was the host of shows like Remote Control, Billboard Top 20 Countdown, Smash Hits, Paparazzi and Bid It. Later on, his impressive work ethic has put him in a favorable position to work with huge brands and companies, some of which he has worked with for more than 10 years. He was even involved in radio by captaining the dance belt show on Capital FM and Spinmaster Challenge on Hitz.FM. Moving away from radio and TV, Joey G has been very, very busy with hosting multiple gigs, events, festivals, concerts and so forth. A few notable mentions include the BRDB & Rotary Club Charity Dinner, BMW World Showcase, Tag Heuer Racing Event, Marini’s on 57 Sunset Hours Compilation Launch Event, Infiniti Showcase KL International Motor Show and etc. Personally, he’s been in covers and articles in publications like The Star, The Sun, The New Straits Times, JUICE, Men’s Health, Newman, Esquire, FHM and many more. Also, he has done many interviews with all sorts of celebrities like Renée Zellweger, Armin Van Burin, Kate Winslet, Fernando Alonso, Hugh Jackman, Akon and etc. As if there’s anything more to add to this man, Joey G even DJ’s on his own time for events. This man is a 21st century chameleon. If you liked what you've heard, then check us out on our website here! That Time Of NightSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Jo Kukathas
Jo is the actor, writer, director and co-founder of The Instant Café Theatre Company here in KL and they’re excellent in satirizing Malaysian politics and experimenting with new material. Also, her characters like Winnie, Elsa, Sumathi, Curry Spice, Ribena Berry and etc speak the loudest when she’s on stage and they range from outrageously funny to deeply thought-provoking. She has been involved in local and international plays that include A Midsummer’s Night Dream, The Merchant Of Venice, The Island In Between, M! The Opera and many, many more. Sean Yoong
While most people can only dream about their ideal job in this world, Sean Yoong is a testament to that because he is actually living and breathing it at this moment. You may or may not have heard of him and it’s understandable because he’s usually under the radar behind his widely successful food blog, EatDrinkKL. He was born in Malacca and he studied in Penang for a while so naturally the love and passion for food was present from the very beginning. It was still subtle back then as he eventually made his way to Kuala Lumpur and began working and reporting for The Associated Press. Suffice to say, a total of 15 years working for AP had taken a toll on Sean. According to him, he actually started the food blog whilst having one cocktail too many and he never looked back ever since. Since then, he has travelled to a couple of countries and has dined in over 2,500 restaurants to date. Back in December 2005, Sean Yoong was named Malaysia’s top food influencer at the first ever Influence Asia awards in Singapore. But even more than that, him and his blog have become the rock of Malaysia’s dining scene and he has opened up the blinds for all of us to see that there are more to experience and eat out there in the world than we can ever dreamed of. Ross Stephenson
A man with an afro bigger than his kinesphere, Ross Stephenson, has to add that disclaimer at the beginning of any bio because until today, his hairstyle was met with disbelief. Upon completion of his Bachelor of Psychology at HELP University in 2014, he began working in his church Multimedia and Communications department. In between studies and work, Ross had always made time to explore his interests and hobbies such as magic, comedy, writing, etc. Magic has always been a joy for him to perform because he just loves making people smile. Years later, he also tried his hand, or mouth rather, at standup as well as emceeing various events. Ross grew his afro out when he was around the age of 17. He has kept it ever since and he believes it’s not an extension of his personality. With the beauty of his afro, Ross signed up with a talent agent and was blessed to have several opportunities to get featured in ad’s by Petronas, Hotlink, Cool Tea, Sunway Pyramid, and others. James Ly
A long time ago, James Ly envisioned himself as a footballer, but that dream died and so he ventured into something he knows he can put his entire heart and soul into; art. After graduating with a BA in Multimedia Design and a MSC in 3D Animation. He is first and foremost an artist by trade, a curator by day (and night) and a co-founder of the Minut Init Art Social art space in Damansara Uptown. This particular art space is a vessel used to cultivate and discover new and underground artists in hopes of putting their personal work out there for the public. James strongly believes in bringing up new talent and being a teacher and educator himself. He was born and bred in Kuala Lumpur, or OUG to be more exact. And, as a KL-ite he understands the local potential around him and so his art space is the medium. Other than that, he produces his own work as well and he enjoys playing with spatial, structural and formal forms of the art. Lately, he’s been experimenting with industrial art by using drip sticks, hardware materials and everyday tools we usually take for granted. He’s been a curator for many different types of exhibitions such as Tinpix Mophog, Tahi Cicak, Heineken, Midas Touch Art Fusion, Inner Visions, Adolences, Duality, Alice In Wonderland and etc. His soon-to-be latest exhibition will be his own entitled, ‘Inured’, which explores the rapid changes in technology, the environment and the human way of thinking. Formed in the late '60s by Irish singer/songwriter/bassist Phil Lynott, Lizzy, though not the first band to do so, combined romanticized working-class sentiments with their ferocious, twin-lead guitar attack.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Junji Delfino
It speaks volumes when someone is given an honorary title in their profession, but being Malaysia’s First Lady of Jazz has only boosted Junji Delfino’s confidence in a field she’s excelled at for so many years. Throughout a span of three decades, her love for jazz began very young when she would listen to her father’s old records and be inspired to cultivate her own singing career. She started her career in Philippines in the 80’s before moving to Malaysia in the 90’s where she really began to flourish. She ended up in the famous All That Jazz club and she had tribute hits celebrating the works of Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra with her collaborator, David Gomes. Currently, she has 2 albums that include her very well received and praised solo album, Here I Am. She was also awarded the Best Vocal performer Award at the 9th Boh Cameronian Arts Awards 2012 for her tribute show, Lush Life, that was produced by her own production company, Jazz Works. Other than singing, Junji is also a writer and an actress. She was in a theatre production called, Sex, Money, Scandal - The Pandemic, and also, Taming Of The Shrew, which was a Bollywood cabaret. Also, she was involved in Singapore’s first English television show in 2009 called, Red Thread. However, her roots stem deep in jazz and she always returns to her first love. Currently, she has performed in Malaysia, Singapore, Bangkok, San Francisco, Daly City and many other places in the world. Junji Delfino is definitely a one woman tour de force. It's A Holiday Soul Party by Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings (Untitled #24)
Christmas albums have been part of the scenery almost since the invention of the gramophone. This has led to quite a motley crew of cash-in dross but also the odd hint of real gold. For 2015, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings’ multi-faith holiday album is certainly much closer to gold than the other end of the musical spectrum. This week, we feature their recently released It's A Holiday Soul Party — it combines funky re-workings of classics and carols, alongside some seriously smoking originals that will put smiles on faces and encourage hefty doses of Christmas spirit.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
