Both pioneers of South Africa’s deep house and neo-soul scenes in their own right, producer, DJ, and label boss Allan Nicoll aka Kid Fonque’s relationship with Johannesburg storyteller Sio continues to go from strength to strength - signposted by numerous Stay True Sounds collaborations including ‘Heartbeat’, ‘In Love’ and ‘Soulfully Broken’. Over the past ten years, Cristoph has risen to become one of dance music's most in demand producers. A DJ, producer and music mogul who has defined the sound of the underground for well over ten years, Nick Curly returns to Defected with the effortlessly modern ‘You’. Since his international breakthrough in 2008, Nick Curly quickly established himself as a titan of house music with a unique production style that came to be known as the ‘Mannheim’ sound; a deep, loop-based tech house style which earned him a spot on Defected’s hallowed In The House series in 2014. Featuring a mix of deep, emotive house and techno, the compilation cemented the burgeoning relationship between Curly and Defected as one for the ages, now maintaining his own imprint 8Bit, Cécille Records alongside Mark Scholl, and party brand Trust, ultimately proving that there is nothing that Curly can’t do.
