FCL - It's You (Alex Wann Extended Remix)
To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Defected Records presents a series of extra special collaborative releases Together, integrating talent from the label’s storied past and the stars of its future as FCL’s ‘It’s You’ receives a remix from Alex Wann and a live mix from FCL member Red D with OG vocalist Lady Linn. A modern classic from Belgian house duo FCL that garnered global attention in the summer of 2013, San Soda's Panorama Bar Acca Version of ‘It’s You’ was praised for its uniquely stark composition - one that bucked genre trends in favour of sheer musicality and vocal house vibes. With only 100 vinyl copies released on Red D’s We Play Recordings initially, the rare track was soon picked up by Defected; remixes from a host of huge names followed, including MK, David Morales, and Mousse T., while the seminal track featured in The Guardian, Attack Magazine and Resident Advisor. Now ten years later, Parisian maestro Alex Wann adds his name to the list of remixers, delivering an ethereal remix built from Afro electronic inspired rhythms and dreamlike keys. Also on the package, FCL member Red D teams up with ‘It’s You’ vocalist Lady Linn for a live mix - an edit made from the original 1986 track by ESP, featuring newly recorded vocals on top.

Riva Starr X Hilit Kolet Feat. NEZ - Twerq It
To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Defected Records presents a series of extra special collaborative releases: Together, integrating talent from the label’s storied past and the stars of its future. On the latest release, Riva Starr joins forces with Hilit Kolet for ‘Twerq It’ featuring NEZ. No stranger to the Defected family, Riva Starr’s relationship with the label continues to blossom, following standout releases like ‘Love Divine’ and his celebrated Defected House Masters collection– not to mention standout performances at Defected’s flagship festival in Croatia and their Ibiza residency at Ushuaïa. Fast-rising London DJ and producer Hilit Kolet also has a history with the label, with Defected releasing her debut single ‘Techno Disco’ and its follow-up release ‘POV Siren’ on Faith marking her as a serious name to watch, before this year’s trio of singles ‘Hot Mess’, ‘Everything Is Amazing’ and ‘Snap Talk’ cemented her reputation as the producer behind the bleeding edge of 2024’s fiercest beats. Joining the two mercurial producers on vocal duty is Chicago artist NEZ, a house music maverick whose distinct flow has featured on collaborations with Moodymann, Eats Everything and HoneyLuv. The three have all carved out their own distinct lanes in house, and now they join forces for Defected’s Together series with ‘Twerq It’, a record built for the club, its sharp lyricism and addictively stripped-down worked to the bone rhythms delivering a modern masterclass in tension and release.

Soulsearcher - Can't Get Enough! (Prunk Remix)
When a fledgling Defected Records launched back in 1999, perhaps it was prophetic that its debut release would become one of house’s best loved cross-over records: Soulsearcher’s ‘Can’t Get Enough’ originally released on Soulfuric Deep. Soaring to #5 in the UK singles chart at the time, the legacy of Marc Pomeroy’s vocal club cut lives on well into the 2020s. Now, as part of the Together series celebrating Defected’s 25th anniversary, which integrates talent from the label’s storied past and the stars of its future, Defected revisits this timeless gem with a fresh remix from Prunk. One of the Netherland’s most valued musical exports of recent times and PIV founder, Prunk adds his signature bounce to the record for another unmissable addition to the Together series.

Ferreck Dawn X Maverick Sabre X New Machine - For The Weekend
Ferreck Dawn returns to Defected Records alongside revered producer New Machine and established Irish vocalist Maverick Sabre with ‘For The Weekend’. The Dutch heavyweight producer Ferreck Dawn has had a major year so far, recently releasing ‘Friends Around (Set It Off)’ alongside GUZ, as well as collaborating with MEDUZA, Clementine Douglas and more across the Defected family of labels. Similarly, New Machine and Maverick Sabre will release their full-length LP as part of YOURS alongside SÓLLER and Jake Hall, following a string of acclaimed releases including ‘DONDÉ ESTÁ’ and ‘LOVE MIGHT MAKE ME BETTER’. Together, the three artists create throwback charm with ‘For The Weekend’; Maverick’s tight vocals are layered in octaves, looping in ecstasy over Ferreck and New Machine’s hypnotic sub-bass and expansive production touches.

Oden & Fatzo - Tell Me What You Want (Acoustic)
Oden & Fatzo and Poppy Baskcomb’s Defected summer smash ‘Tell Me What You Want’ continues its upwards trajectory with an acoustic version. The once underground artists now achieving major crossover success, Parisian trio Oden & Fatzo teamed up with Portsmouth singer-songwriter Poppy to create an instant classic that has captured the hearts of fans new and old. Receiving early radio support in the UK from BBC Radio 1, KISS FM and Capital Dance to now hitting 3 million streams worldwide, ‘Tell Me What You Want’ is all set to become a globally recognised hit, still supported by major international stations across the UK, Ireland, France, The Netherlands and Australia. Poppy Baskcomb’s powerful vocals and songwriting abilities are spotlighted on this special acoustic release of ‘Tell Me What You Want’, stripped back to allow the group’s innate musicality to shine.

Defected is proud to unveil a highly anticipated project from the mind of singular artist SeeMeNot, titled ‘LEADER: Giving Them Their Flowers’. The collection represents the hymns and praises of women, sharing lyrics written by SeeMeNot over productions from some of SeeMeNot’s favourite electronic artists in recent years. A melting pot of deep house, melodic house and techno overlaid by a sheet of jazz, soul and hip-hop sonics, this mixtape is an homage to women of the BIPOC community and their everlasting strength, wisdom, methodology and a celebration of their liberation. As the sophomore project to SeeMeNot’s first mixtape ‘LONG OVERDUE: The Sound Of A Revolution’ - where a chronological diary of the evolution of slavery to abolition was the thread - LEADER features a more diverse application of harmonies and fixational genres woven into a story for the ages, in celebration of women and their contribution to the very rare parts of humanity we have left. Among its explorative tracklist, ‘LEADER: Giving Them Their Flowers’ platforms the deep recitations of artist/poet Aminata over music from Eli Escobar on ‘Gene/Sis (Intro)’, followed by a call to arms from writer/designer Fanny Vannier with production from Aaaron on ‘Mother Reign’. Defected stalwart Sam Divine also steps up to remix the focus track, ‘Have My Back’, adding her signature club-focused sound to the evocative production from Ivory (IT). These ladies are friends and sisters in arms; the conviction of women coming together and taking on roles as LEADERS, is essential to winning the war.

Kid Fonque & Sio - Rekindled
To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Defected Records presents a series of extra special collaborative releases Together, integrating talent from the label’s storied past and the stars of its future, as Kid Fonque joins forces with Sio for ‘Rekindled’. Both pioneers of South Africa’s deep house and neo-soul scenes in their own right, producer, DJ, and label boss Allan Nicoll aka Kid Fonque’s relationship with Johannesburg storyteller Sio continues to go from strength to strength - signposted by numerous Stay True Sounds collaborations including ‘Heartbeat’, ‘In Love’ and ‘Soulfully Broken’. The multi-faceted artist and vocalist Sio also released numerous singles as a solo artist approaching her fifth full LP, Sarang / 사랑, which landed on STY TRU BTS in May 2024. ‘Rekindled’ sees the good friends come together again for an alluring dose of Afro House on Defected, with the track holding a level of expertise only possible from two champions of the genre; Sio’s masterful lyricism weaves around Kid Fonque’s shuffling Afro rhythms to create an expressive and hypnotic work of art for the Together series.

Purple Disco Machine - Beat Fantasy
The GRAMMY award-winning Purple Disco Machine returns to Defected with a unique original that shows off the signature PDM aesthetic in its full glory, ‘Beat Fantasy’. One of the world’s most recognisable producers, sonically and visually, Purple Disco Machine has captured fans worldwide thanks to a slew of unforgettable releases, including collaborations with Nile Rodgers & Shenseea, Duke Dumont, Chromeo, Kungs and his recent club-ready remix of Wolfram & Josh Ludlow’s ‘YoYo Disco’ on Defected. His electrifying and wildly popular electro, funk and nu disco hybrid sets have earned him slots at the very best clubs in the world, recently including Hï Ibiza with Glitterbox and Ushuaïa Ibiza with Defected. His latest outing on the London label, ‘Beat Fantasy’ is the perfect representation of Purple Disco Machine’s club sound, as an addictive vocal sample works in tandem with a deliciously satisfying synth-laden build and release. Choir-like harmonies join in the latter half, juxtaposing the driving rhythms to form a quirky and joyful club record that is quintessentially PDM.
