A certified Defected classic, ‘Bad Habit’ by ATFC featuring Lisa Millett is remixed by Clüb De Combat. Originally released in 2000, ‘Bad Habit’ quickly became one of the label’s signature tracks, leading to a slew of re-releases and remixes - most notably from Armin Van Buuren in the same year. Joining the impressive list of remixers is a duo marked as ones to watch for 2025; Clüb De Combat’s warehouse-filling sound has earned them a slew of supporters, including industry titans like Solomun, Peggy Gou, Chloe Caillet, Chris Lake and Mau P. With two EPs under their belt and several releases on tastemaker imprints, Clüb De Combat’s remix of ‘Bad Habit’ on Defected continues to showcase the duo’s blend of hard-hitting electronic genres - making for a powerful chapter in the record’s long-running story.

The GRAMMY-nominated Nic Fanciulli unites with vocalist and songwriter Marc E. Bassy for ‘Hold On’ on Defected. Since previous label hits ‘I Want You’ with Butch and ‘Vente’ with Callussa, Nic Fanciulli has continued to nurture his Saved imprint, releasing ‘Set Me Free’ with Robert Courtois, a future club classic and five-week Beatport No.1 still receiving consistent club play nearly a year later. Continuing to build his relationship with Defected, 2025 will see Fanciulli play the label’s Pacha Ibiza residency and both flagship festivals in Croatia and Malta. For his anticipated Defected return, ‘Hold On’, Fanciulli collaborates with celebrated crossover artist Marc E. Bassy. House fans will recognise Marc’s buttery smooth vocals from Louie Vega and The Martinez Brother’s seminal Defected favourite ‘Let It Go’. ‘Hold On’ also places Marc’s precise yet smooth San Fran sway front and centre, combining with Nic Fanciulli’s cool, metropolitan production to create a soon-to-be summer smash for the modern age.

A certified Defected staple, Noir & Haze’s seductive, deep house hit ‘Around’ is reworked by Italian titans of the scene MEDUZA. Released in the early 2010s, a golden era for the genre, Solomun’s Vox of the track became inescapable on club floors throughout 2011, originally supported by Deetron, Jimpster and Adam Port to name a very small few. MEDUZA now bring their signature sound to the record, a sound that has seen them become the biggest streaming Italian artist in history and grace some of the most prestigious music stages in the world in 2024 – Creamfields, Detroit’s Movement Festival and DJ Mag’s #1 club Hï Ibiza. Their take on Noir & Haze’s ‘Around’ brings a hard, techy energy to the fore, with stadium-filling build and release keeping MEDUZA’s massive global fanbase moving.

Long-time friend of Defected Ferreck Dawn returns with ‘Make Me Weak’, featuring vocals from Caroline Byrne. A Dutch powerhouse who in 2024 played for the London label at Wembley’s OVO Arena, the summer season at Ushuaïa Ibiza, its flagship festival in Croatia and world tour stop in Toulouse, Ferreck continues to rep Defected on an international level - now preparing for the label’s season at Pacha Ibiza. His busy touring schedule was matched by his Defected output, working with Maverick Sabre, New Machine, GUZ, MEDUZA and Clementine Douglas on a string of tracks last year. Returning to the label in 2025, Ferreck collaborates with Caroline Byrne, a prolific dance music singer / songwriter who has previously featured on tracks with Gorgon City, Tudor, and TSHA. ‘Make Me Weak’ is a groovier, more synth-laden outing for Ferreck, spotlighting Caroline’s airy topline layered in harmony, creating a vocaloid-like effect that aligns perfectly with Ferreck’s signature, hard-hitting production.

An established talent currently at the fore of the house and scene, Blackchild lands on Defected with ‘Nothing Better Than Music’. Italian producer Blackchild’s unique sonic often blends his jazz-training with electronic style, delivering cross-genre damagers built for the underground and leading to collaborations with Paco Osuna and St Germain. Further solo releases on Solid Grooves and his own imprint LATEMORNING cemented Blackchild’s status as one of the scene’s freshest names, now landing on Defected with ‘Nothing Better Than Music’. By splicing together several infectious vocal samples, underpinned by funk-laden patterns and synth mastery, Blackchild has created an instantly addictive house record that sounds timeless yet feels vastly modern. Now he follows up the original with a Dub version aimed directly at the dancefloor.

Modern house champion Butch returns to Defected alongside genre-hopping songwriter and vocalist Life On Planets with ‘Get High With You’. Butch’s 2023 release ‘I Want You’ with Nic Fanciulli was one of Defected’s most celebrated, and in 2025 he returned to the London label, remixing Duck Sauce’s ‘Fallin In Love’ which charted in the Beatport top ten and was supported by Danny Howard, Arielle Free and Sarah Story on BBC Radio 1. Also no stranger to the Defected family, Life On Planets landed on sister label Classic Music Company in 2023 alongside Lubelski with the eclectic ‘Mercury In Retrograde’, a tastemaker release showcasing the multi-instrumentalists soulful vocals and songwriting prowess. The two artists now come together on Defected, after Butch remixed Life On Planets’ ‘Downstream’ with Makèz; ‘Get High With You’ shows a clear reverence for the noughties, but modern harmonic progressions and daring production choices propel the record into 2025 and beyond.

Defected heavyweight Low Steppa returns alongside rising house name Capri with ‘Got The Funk’. No stranger to the London label, the DJ and producer from Brum has been a firm favourite at Defected shows worldwide for many years, from its flagship festivals to major club nights alike. His releases across the Defected family of labels have also seen major club play, from ‘This Is The Sound’ on DFTD to ‘Bullerengue’ with Crusy on Defected. For his latest label outing, Low Steppa collaborates with Capri, an artist whose tracks have been supported by Mark Knight, Sam Divine, Darius Syrossian and Dombresky, with more releases on tastemaker labels scheduled for 2025. Capri captured Low Steppa’s attention with a remix of his track ‘The Feeling’ on the influential producer’s Simma Black imprint, and now the two deliver ‘Got The Funk’, a seriously hypnotic belter set to do major club damage - already supported by the likes of Barry Can’t Swim, Eats Everything and Danny Howard.

Club titan HUGEL returns to Defected to remix a 2025 label favourite, ‘Hold Me’ by Hannah Wants featuring ARA. He now lends his heavy club sonic to Hannah Wants’ ‘Hold Me’ featuring vocals from her long-time collaborator and friend ARA. Hannah Wants returned to Defected with the emotionally resonant ‘Hold Me’ in February 2025, co-written by featuring vocalist and frequent collaborator ARA. The release followed the major success of their previous Defected single ‘The One’ in 2023, which conquered radio stations and received extensive club play across the UK thanks to its infectious hook and haunting vocals. Described by Hannah as ‘her favourite record to date’, she now reveals the acoustic version of ‘Hold Me’, where the lyrics continue to create cathartic release for the DJ in this reimagining of the club track.

Glaswegian tastemaker Arielle Free returns to Defected Records alongside multi-faceted Might Delete Later to deliver ‘Shy’. An accomplished DJ, producer and BBC broadcaster with a distinct house sonic, Arielle’s previous Defected release ‘Feels So Good’ was a 2023 standout, earning support from fellow BBC tastemakers Danny Howard and Jeremiah Asiamah. Her infectious sound has been heard widely across the UK and further afield, including sets at Defected’s biggest parties in 2024 – from their flagship festivals in Croatia and Malta to their open-air Ushuaïa Ibiza residency. For her latest club-ready release, Arielle is joined by Might Delete Later, a festival favourite and producer turning voicemails into music who has opened for Elderbrook, Moderat and Joy Anonymous and collaborated with Patrick Topping. Lyrically, ‘Shy’ is inspired by real confessions of insecurity and self-acceptance from an anonymous voicemail, per Might Delete Later’s unique process. Hannah Wants returns to Defected with the emotionally resonant ‘Hold Me’, co-written by featuring vocalist, frequent collaborator and good friend ARA. The release follows the major success of their previous Defected single ‘The One’ in 2023, which conquered radio stations and received extensive club play across the UK thanks to its infectious hook and haunting vocals. Kickstarting this year’s releases, he collaborates with Brazilian titan Vintage Culture, a DJ Mag Top 10 artist for the past two years thanks to his distinct and almighty tech sound that has pounded stages from Tomorrowland to Coachella; also no stranger to the Defected catalogue, his modern house hit ‘Nightjar’ with Sonny Fodera featuring SHELLS received global play.
