Hannah Wants returns to Defected with the emotionally resonant ‘Hold Me’, co-written by featuring vocalist, frequent collaborator and good friend ARA. The release follows the major success of their previous Defected single ‘The One’ in 2023, which conquered radio stations and received extensive club play across the UK thanks to its infectious hook and haunting vocals. Described by Hannah as ‘her favourite record to date’, the production and lyrics of ‘Hold Me’ come together to create cathartic release for the DJ - showcasing the sound of an artist who advocates fiercely for music with meaning alongside her reputation for making bass-heavy rollers built for the club.

The long-awaited collaboration from David Penn, Vintage Culture and Raphaella, ‘Just Stay The Night’ kicks off Defected’s 2025 catalogue. Building on his fruitful relationship with the London label is Spanish selector David Penn, a Defected House Master whose label catalogue includes quality house cuts like 2020’s ‘Nobody’ featuring Dames Brown as well as celebrated remixes of Pete Heller’s ‘Big Love’, Sandy Rivera’s ‘I Can’t Stop’ and Candi Staton’s ‘Hallelujah Anyway’. Kickstarting this year’s releases, he collaborates with Brazilian titan Vintage Culture, a DJ Mag Top 10 artist for the past two years thanks to his distinct and almighty tech sound that has pounded stages from Tomorrowland to Coachella; also no stranger to the Defected catalogue, his modern house hit ‘Nightjar’ with Sonny Fodera featuring SHELLS received global play. Today the accomplished track is remixed by one of the most listened to tech house artists on Spotify, and the 7th best-selling house artist on Beatport, Marco Lys. His groove-laden and deep style is apparent with this intense remix of ‘Starblazer’, foregoing the original’s simplicity in favour of complex and percussive build and release – underpinned by a subterranean bass adding dancefloor wonkiness.

The second appearance in the Together series for the prolific British producer, following his original track ‘Preach’ featuring Ron Carroll, Hot Since 82 now lends his bright sonic to a house staple from Kings of Tomorrow. The 2013 original from the mind of Defected House Master Sandy Rivera saw much love from house heads in the know and club-goers alike, with record collectors’ demands for a vinyl release met by 4 To The Floor in 2019 - featuring an edit from Moodymann. Defected faithful Sam Divine returns to the London label alongside Grammy award-winning artist Dave Giles II for ‘Fast Lane’. British icon, DJ and producer IDRIS returns to Defected with house heater ‘Sima Agua’, featuring Cape Verdean singer and activist Mayra Andrade. Continuing a string of releases on the London label in 2024, including his Together series remix of Fish Go Deep’s iconic club anthem ‘The Cure + The Cause’ and infectious original ‘La Trumpeta’, Idris Elba’s house sound is currently dominating the club scene. As more releases are revealed, the DJ and producer aims to bring his global sound to the world stage, now working with vocalist Mayra Andrade. Having recorded music across Portugal, France, and her home of Cape Verde, the internationally acclaimed Mayra Andrade is also a proud LGBTQ+ rights activist, serving as an ambassador for the United Nations ‘Free And Equal’ campaign since 2015. On the latest release, Riva Starr joins forces with Hilit Kolet for ‘Twerq It’ featuring NEZ. No stranger to the Defected family, Riva Starr’s relationship with the label continues to blossom, following standout releases like ‘Love Divine’ and his celebrated Defected House Masters collection– not to mention standout performances at Defected’s flagship festival in Croatia and their Ibiza residency at Ushuaïa. Fast-rising London DJ and producer Hilit Kolet also has a history with the label, with Defected releasing her debut single ‘Techno Disco’ and its follow-up release ‘POV Siren’ on Faith marking her as a serious name to watch, before this year’s trio of singles ‘Hot Mess’, ‘Everything Is Amazing’ and ‘Snap Talk’ cemented her reputation as the producer behind the bleeding edge of 2024’s fiercest beats. Ferreck Dawn returns to Defected Records alongside revered producer New Machine and established Irish vocalist Maverick Sabre with ‘For The Weekend’.
