Hannah Wants returned to Defected with the emotionally resonant ‘Hold Me’ in February 2025, co-written by featuring vocalist and frequent collaborator ARA. The release followed the major success of their previous Defected single ‘The One’ in 2023, which conquered radio stations and received extensive club play across the UK thanks to its infectious hook and haunting vocals. Described by Hannah as ‘her favourite record to date’, she now reveals the acoustic version of ‘Hold Me’, where the lyrics continue to create cathartic release for the DJ in this reimagining of the club track.

Glaswegian tastemaker Arielle Free returns to Defected Records alongside multi-faceted Might Delete Later to deliver ‘Shy’. An accomplished DJ, producer and BBC broadcaster with a distinct house sonic, Arielle’s previous Defected release ‘Feels So Good’ was a 2023 standout, earning support from fellow BBC tastemakers Danny Howard and Jeremiah Asiamah. Her infectious sound has been heard widely across the UK and further afield, including sets at Defected’s biggest parties in 2024 – from their flagship festivals in Croatia and Malta to their open-air Ushuaïa Ibiza residency. For her latest club-ready release, Arielle is joined by Might Delete Later, a festival favourite and producer turning voicemails into music who has opened for Elderbrook, Moderat and Joy Anonymous and collaborated with Patrick Topping. Lyrically, ‘Shy’ is inspired by real confessions of insecurity and self-acceptance from an anonymous voicemail, per Might Delete Later’s unique process. Marking a fresh sonic approach for Arielle Free on Defected, the record utilises live instruments to support an uplifiting topline, creating a pepped-up dose of house that is sure to light up dancefloors and the airwaves alike.

Revered DJ and producer Butch remixes iconic production duo Duck Sauce on Defected, with an audacious, disco-flecked take on ‘Fallin In Love’. The original ‘Fallin In Love’ rounded off a stream of effervescent, club-ready singles from the GRAMMY-nominated duo in 2024, earning support from the likes of Jamie Jones, Coco & Breezy and Purple Disco Machine plus a host of other top selectors. Stepping up to remix the bright and soulful record in 2025 is award-winning artist Butch, a Defected returnee and magnetic DJ whose effortless suave and expertise has made him one of electronic music’s most respected names. His remix of ‘Fallin In Love’ capitalises on the joyous nature of the original, starting with an addictively bouncy bassline and building to a euphoric string line that soars above the pounding production. French hitmakers Oden & Fatzo return to Defected alongside frequent collaborator THEOS with ‘Only You’ featuring Noa Milee. 2024 marked an incredible year for Oden & Fatzo, who soared to new heights with the release of summer smash ‘Tell Me What You Want’ with Poppy Baskcomb. The now Defected staple earned over a thousand spins across UK radio alone, culminating in a live PA with Poppy at Defected’s Ushuaïa Ibiza residency. Returning to the studio for their next release, Oden & Fatzo enlist fellow genre-crosser THEOS, a producer and DJ who previously joined the trio for RAW EP in October 2023 - also returning from RAW is Noa Milee, a French vocalist and songwriter on the rise. ‘Only You’ is the product of a strong collaborative mindset, with the joy felt in the studio apparent throughout the house-laden, synthy record.

Afro house duo Frigid Armadillo join esteemed SA icon Sun-El Musician for ‘Sunshine’ on Defected. The long-awaited collaboration from David Penn, Vintage Culture and Raphaella, ‘Just Stay The Night’ kicks off Defected’s 2025 catalogue. Building on his fruitful relationship with the London label is Spanish selector David Penn, a Defected House Master whose label catalogue includes quality house cuts like 2020’s ‘Nobody’ featuring Dames Brown as well as celebrated remixes of Pete Heller’s ‘Big Love’, Sandy Rivera’s ‘I Can’t Stop’ and Candi Staton’s ‘Hallelujah Anyway’. Kickstarting this year’s releases, he collaborates with Brazilian titan Vintage Culture, a DJ Mag Top 10 artist for the past two years thanks to his distinct and almighty tech sound that has pounded stages from Tomorrowland to Coachella; also no stranger to the Defected catalogue, his modern house hit ‘Nightjar’ with Sonny Fodera featuring SHELLS received global play. The second appearance in the Together series for the prolific British producer, following his original track ‘Preach’ featuring Ron Carroll, Hot Since 82 now lends his bright sonic to a house staple from Kings of Tomorrow. The 2013 original from the mind of Defected House Master Sandy Rivera saw much love from house heads in the know and club-goers alike, with record collectors’ demands for a vinyl release met by 4 To The Floor in 2019 - featuring an edit from Moodymann. Hot Since 82’s remix of ‘Fall For You’ takes the grooving style of the OG and reimagines it as a spacious club track, retaining much of the vocals from Rivera’s long-time collaborator April Morgan.

British icon, DJ and producer IDRIS returns to Defected with house heater ‘Sima Agua’, featuring Cape Verdean singer and activist Mayra Andrade. Continuing a string of releases on the London label in 2024, including his Together series remix of Fish Go Deep’s iconic club anthem ‘The Cure + The Cause’ and infectious original ‘La Trumpeta’, Idris Elba’s house sound is currently dominating the club scene. As more releases are revealed, the DJ and producer aims to bring his global sound to the world stage, now working with vocalist Mayra Andrade. Having recorded music across Portugal, France, and her home of Cape Verde, the internationally acclaimed Mayra Andrade is also a proud LGBTQ+ rights activist, serving as an ambassador for the United Nations ‘Free And Equal’ campaign since 2015.
