To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Defected Records presents a series of extra special collaborative releases Together, integrating talent from the label’s storied past and the stars of its future as Ferreck Dawn returns to his own collaboration ‘I Got Nothing’ with MEDUZA and Clementine Douglas, delivering a deeper remix on Defected. Originally closing out 2023, ‘I Got Nothing’ combined the three artists’ styles into one cohesive release bursting with 00s nostalgia. The original surpassed over 5 million streams within the first month of release thanks to global Spotify playlist support, also receiving extensive radio support including major UK stations Capital Dance, BBC Radio 1 and KISS FM. Nasser Baker makes his long-awaited return with an original track, the deep and mature house single ‘Notification’ on Defected. California-born and New Jersey-raised, Nasser Baker was discovered as a young artist by influential producer Dennis Ferrer, who signed Baker to his revered Objektivity label. The move resulted in several critically acclaimed EPs, putting the New Jersey talent on the maps of house music’s finest thanks to his broad and eclectic sound, holding a maturity well beyond its years as a result of analogue techniques combined with modern house sensibilities. Ever since, Nasser Baker’s approach has steered towards quality over quantity, with his releases proving well worth the wait in the eyes of tastemakers and fans alike. After remixing ‘Whisper’ on Defected in 2021, originally released by his mentor Dennis Ferrer alongside Disciples and James Yuill, Nasser Baker returns with ‘Notification’, a dark, slow burn of a record that highlights the producer’s tech side; a lively synth bass guides the creative use of voice note-like audio, weaving a story of tension and release as Nasser’s undulating production laces the track with addictive flavour.

Coming as their third original single on Defected Records, the need-to-know, multi-disciplinary collective YOURS (comprised of Maverick Sabre, New Machine, Jake and Sonny Hall) reveal ‘80’s (OUR LOVE)’. Building on the success of breakout record ‘DÓNDE ESTÁ’, which went on to be remixed by bona fide house legends Masters At Work, and the follow up ‘DON’T KNOW WHERE I’M GOING’, ‘80’s (OUR LOVE)’ is another striking example of the group’s genre-defying, refined sound. As Maverick’s unmistakable vocal is heavily manipulated over a classic deep house bassline and synth arpeggios, a nod to the 1980s TV visuals the group watched as they wrote the record, a sparkling, starry-eyed quality adds to the afterhours mood of the record. Wolfram & Josh Ludlow’s Defected club hit ‘YoYo Disco’ receives a remix from international electronic favourite Purple Disco Machine. The eccentric original received support from top artists, including Parisian French touch expert Chloe Caillet on BBC Radio 1, Majestic on KISS FM, the Keinemusik crew and now Purple Disco Machine. The German connoisseur of all things house, deep funk and disco is a Grammy award-winning master remixer, adding his touch to tracks from A-listers like Elton John and Kylie Minogue to global tastemakers Fatboy Slim and Gorillaz to mention a small few. His signature sound is recognised globally thanks to his undeniable presence at major clubs as well as multi-platinum streaming and radio hits like ‘Hypnotized’ and ‘Fireworks’ from his critically acclaimed 2021 album ‘Exotica’ and ‘Substitution’.
