Your ability to lead is not based on what's attractive to society, but the anointing that's on your life. This is critical to know because if you think (or even slightly think) your ability to lead is tied to looking like what society finds attractive, then you will fail. Watching a person be murdered on social media is a traumatic experience for all who watched — regardless of race. However, it causes extra trauma for those of the same ethnicity as the person being murdered because they have seen this evil behavior many times before and have watched the perpetrator of the injustice go unpunished. The vision God has given you requires you to change your mind. From interacting with negative people and having negative experiences, our minds are filled with limiting thoughts. Thoughts like "People like us don't do that," "You don't have the money for that," "You'll never achieve that goal," etc. Those thoughts must be rooted out of our minds if we are to achieve all God has for us to do. Most believers already have a good basic knowledge of what God has called them to do because God has not been hiding it from them. He has revealed it to them throughout their lives. Believers will often say, "If God wants me to go this way, then He will open a door of opportunity," or, "this door closed because God has something better for me." God may open or close doors of opportunity, but the state of the door (aka opportunity) doesn't indicate the will of God for your life. Each day of our life, seeds are being intentionally and unintentionally sown into our hearts which either produce the fruit of faith, or fear. This is important because the results you experience in your life are based on faith or fear. Faith that is acted on produces success; and fear creates inaction, which produces failure. When God gives us an assignment, there is also a time frame associated with it. If we delay implementing the assignment, then we need to check with God to make sure He still wants us to do it. The Bible teaches that we should leave an inheritance for our children's children. Many of us with entrepreneurial callings take this to mean that the business God has called us to build will be an inheritance for our children, who can then pass it on to their children. However, this is not quite the correct way to go about leaving an inheritance. When we leave our children a business, we are leaving them a vision. The problem with this is that the vision that God has given our children may be different than our vision. As I was meditating on the word, my thoughts went to the account of Jesus walking on water. I have read it many times before, but I felt in my spirit that the Holy Spirit wanted me to see something different about it. A revelation I received from God was that He anoints people, not organizations. This means that the Church for Entrepreneurs is anointed through me. Likewise, your organization is anointed because of the anointing God has placed on you. Our organizations just amplify our calling. The example the Holy Spirit gave me is that of the Black Lion from Voltron. Without the pilot, the Black Lion doesn't work. The vision statement usually provides the future goals of your business or organization, whereas the mission statement communicates how you serve your customers or clients and the outcomes they can expect. Understanding this critical difference will help you communicate better with your customers or clients. Instead of sharing your vision with them, share your mission. The callings that God has placed in our hearts is really simple. If the calling feels complex, then the complexity is coming from us adding things to it God never called us to do. God is not the author of confusion. Confusion comes when we add God's instructions with our assumptions. Links Ministry School Partnership

Your calling from God can be articulated through the what, why and how framework: what is the big picture of your calling; why is the reason God wants to undertake your calling; and how is the implementation details of achieving your calling. Knowing the why, why, and how of your calling guides you in making decisions that lead to success in your calling. Link: Partnership

The spiritual force that brings financial prosperity is the blessing. The blessing is not a reward for good behavior, it is a free gift given to us through Jesus Christ. However, many Christians are not prosperous. Why? Because the blessing for prosperity is activated by the work of our hands. And the location of our hands determine our level of prosperity. If our hands are in other people's business, then we have limited our prosperity. If our hands are in the business God has given us, then we can have unlimited prosperity. Links: Partnership

It is likely that the vision God has given you is large and will impact the lives of many people. Therefore, God will probably train you through small victories before you step into the primary calling He has given you. This is similar to being a baby. We must learn to crawl before we walk or run. If we rush straight at the vision God has given us, we won't have the necessary skills (which are developed through training in smaller battles) to win. Is God speaking to your spirit to quit your job and leading you to step fully into your calling? If so, then I have a question He wants me to ask you: If not now, when? There is not going to be a perfect time to leave your job. There are always going to be reasons and natural circumstances saying you can't do it. However, God wants me to encourage you in this Faith Chat to consider that the answer to the question "if not now, when?" is that "when" may never come. Now is the time. Many Christians question their ability to lead their calling to success because they are looking at their natural credentials and past track record. However, if God has called you to do it, then He has anointed you to lead it. Our society is obsessed with credibility and credentials. If you are a chef, they want to know what culinary school you went to. If you're a business coach, they want to know what successful business you have personally made a million dollars from. If you say you are starting a ministry, people want to know what theology school you got your ministry degree from. These questions are basically trying to judge or challenge your credibility. In our guru culture of coaches and mentors, we are being programmed to follow other people's paths to success. This is tempting to our intellect and emotions because we believe that if somebody has made six or seven figures doing it a certain way, then we'll also be successful if we just follow their way. However, this rarely happens. If you look at the results of the guru's students, they rarely reach the same level of success as the guru. And of course the guru says that if you take action, you will make it just like me. Well, people are taking action, and it is still not working. The reason it is not working is because another person's path to success is not your blueprint from God. And by the way, this also applies to trying to follow the success of someone else's ministry. There is a term in warfare called "the fog of war." It is a metaphor for the confusion that occurs on the battlefield when bullets are flying and bombs are exploding. In this confusion (or fog), it makes the battle plan unclear and uncertain. Likewise, there is a fog of life that causes confusion in the vision God has given you. If you follow me on social media, you'll notice that I almost never comment on COVID-19 policy decisions made by the president, governor, mayor, and county officials. Why? Because I have learned that stepping into places I am not called to lead could stall my vision from God. It doesn't mean that I don't have opinions, but they are just that: opinions. God has anointed us to lead in a particular arena and when we step outside of our anointing, we break our focus, which derails our calling. I have discovered through the Word of God that when we have a financial need, asking God to give us money is the wrong prayer to pray. The reason is that God can only give us what He has. Money is a human creation, not a God creation. Therefore, we need to ask God for what He can give, and what God gives is wisdom that leads to you making money. When you receive an instruction from God, it is critical to know if the instruction is for provision or purpose. An instruction for provision is usually temporary and is designed to take care of an immediate financial need, whereas an instruction for purpose is long term and is the reason why you were born. Many married entrepreneurs are frustrated because their spouse doesn't believe in or support their vision. Why? Because God gave you the vision, not your spouse. To experience unprecedented levels of success this year requires us to fully accept the calling God has placed in our hearts. I have found that most of us already know our calling, but we are having trouble accepting it. The number one thing that is holding us back from acceptance is a lack of honesty. We have to be honest with ourselves that we are afraid. When you see another believer fail to receive their healing, especially when they have been praying for it, it can really cause you to doubt. During this worldwide pandemic that has shut down many industries, the word "unprecedented" has been used over and over to describe this time. Almost all who use the word "unprecedented" is using it in a negative way. However, Holy Spirit reminded me that the Word God gave us this year was "those who know their calling, accept it and execute it will experience unprecedented levels of success." Fear is kryptonite to the success of the calling God placed in our heart. If fear is left unchecked it will completely stall or destroy our calling. Therefore, we need to stop the growth of fear in our hearts. The word God spoke to my heart for 2020 was clarity. In particular, He said those you know, accept, and execute their calling will experience unprecedented levels of success in 2020. What I am sensing in my spirit is that now is the critical time to really accept the calling. Most of us know what it is, but we have not truly accepted it.
