God usually doesn't give us instructions in an audible voice. The Bible teaches us that God speaks to us through an unction from the Holy Spirit. For lack of a better phrase, we will have a feeling from God that leads us to do a particular thing. This means we have to interpret that feeling to find the correct course of action God desires for us take. Therefore, we have to be very careful not to allow our traditions (i.e., the way we have always seen things done) misinterpret an unction from God.

So you are Saved! But things aren't working out successfully in your calling and/or in other areas of your life. Well, the reason is because getting saved doesn't automatically make you successful. Take a listen to today's message to dig into his concept.

Divorce and remarriage are two of the most disputed topics in the body of Christ. Some say you should never get a divorce and, if you do, you can never be remarried. Others say divorce is okay because of adultery. And another group says you can divorce and remarry for any reasons. In today's message, I examine what Jesus says about these two issues.

Many of us have spent many years identifying ourselves as this profession or that profession. Maybe you have been a social worker for the past fifteen years, a brain surgeon for thirty years, or a high school teacher for five years. In any case, now God is calling you to step into something new that requires you to unlock your identity from what you were in the past. It can be scary because this is who you have been for so long, and you have found a sense of comfort in identifying as a social worker, brain surgeon, or high school teacher, etc. However, to move into your future, you have to unlock your identity from the past.

Faith is required to receive the things you desire, so faith is important. However, most people struggle with faith, but the issue is not getting faith — that is the easy part — the real issue is keeping faith. Take a listen to today's message to learn more about this concept.

A religion is a belief system that explains life to its followers. Every human and every culture has a religion. For example, one belief system says that humans evolved from lower life forms. Another belief system says humans can have sex with whomever they desire without rules. As Christians we have a belief system that explains how God created us and how He expects us to live. Our biggest challenge is to not allow the culture we live in to convert us to their religion because following their religion removes the power God has given us through Jesus Christ.

In today's message, I want to encourage you to lean on God's protection in times of trouble. When situations look unwinnable is good to remind ourselves that God is our refuge and fortress.

When the final judgment comes, will you enter into the kingdom of God? This is a question believers wonder or worry about because they are unsure. Either they feel they are not doing enough for God or have done too much wrong. To settle your heart and mind on this issue, listen to today's message.

Entrepreneurship culture promotes the idea of starting your own thing, so you can be your own boss. This idea basically promotes an escape from submission. However, this is a dangerous motive, because, to succeed in entrepreneurship, you need to be able to submit to other people. Most of us hate waiting. And our current society is designed to make us discontent with waiting for anything. Everything must happen now. I talked a lot last week about how we are not receiving answers to our prayers because of a lack of faith. However, one listener questioned if that was true because in 2nd Corinthians chapter 12 Paul asked God to remove his "thorn in the flesh," and it appears that God said no because it was good for him to have that thorn. If Paul's thorn was sickness and this interpretation of scripture is correct, one could say that God uses sickness to teach us something, and healing is not always God's will, even if we have faith. To explore this idea, in today's message, I am answering the question "Did God deny Paul's request for healing?"

A lot of us have been unsuccessful in receiving the things we desire because we are praying too much. Prayer is required to receive your desires, but it's not sufficient. In today's podcast, learn how to add power to your prayers so can receive what you pray for.

When many Christians pray to receive their desires and needs, the prayer usually ends with the expression, "if it be Thy will." This feels like we are being humble and unpresumptuous; however, this expression is a faith-killer and will delay the receipt of your prayers. I am continuing my discussion on receiving the things we desire from God. In today's message, I am addressing the idea that if we want to see results, we must believe "for real." Many Christians desire things (e.g., a new house, improved health, success in business, etc.). However, they don't truly believe that they will receive their hearts'desires. This lack of faith kills their results. Without true and unwavering belief, we are not in position to receive from God the things we desire.

We are instructed from Scripture to pray for the things we desire. However, the experience of many Christians is that some, if not all, of their prayers go unanswered. Why is this the case? Today, I want to ask you a question: Is Jesus master or Lord to you? The answer to this question determines whether you will just follow His teaching in an optional way with spotty results in your entrepreneurial calling or allow Jesus to lead you all the way to success in your calling. I am a strong believer of staying focused and not deviating from your calling, because focused pursuits over time bring success. Whereas, deviations from your path slow down your calling to a standstill. However, we also have Holy Spirit inside us who knows how to navigate the ups and downs of a calling. This means that there may be seasons when Holy Spirit will direct you to take an anointed deviation that may appear to break your focus. The difference between an anointed deviation verses a self-appointed deviation is that an anointed deviation does not slow down the success of your calling. It will compliment it. Most Christians are confused about what is the "mark of the beast." However, God never intended for this to be a confusing or misunderstood topic, because it has great impact on believers, especially believers in the marketplace. This is because the mark of the beast is an economic system that's design to force believers to conform to worldly non-Christ-like norms and practices. I found myself getting upset with a few companies I used to run the Church for Entrepreneurs. These companies were promoting non-Christ-like behavior, and I wanted to stop using them because of that. However, Holy Spirit showed me that if I boycotted every company that went against Christ, I would effectively bring my vision to a standstill. He showed me that just because a company is ungodly doesn't automatically mean I should boycott them. Instead, I should check with Holy Spirit and not my emotions. In today's message I am answering a listener's question. The question is, "Do we need a ceremony to be married?" The scenario behind this question is that this couple is living together like a married couple without officially being married. The male in the relationship wants to know what exactly is sexual sin and what does the bible say about marriage.

We are enveloped in an unending culture war. Some battlegrounds are over homosexuality, others are over abortion, and so on. However, I believe we are fighting the wrong war. Instead of fighting to change culture, let's fight to change the hearts of the people in the culture. We hold back our success because the instructions God gives us for success go against how we think it should be done. When we do this, we are putting our thoughts above God's thoughts. To truly receive the fullness of the success God has for us, we must let go of how "we think," and make room for God's thoughts. Then we can hear God clearly and act accordingly to receive our success.

This month marks the 5th anniversary of the Church for Entrepreneurs. We started as a daily podcast and have grown into a global church. To mark this anniversary, I am sharing seven lessons I have learned about entrepreneurship during my five years in ministry.

A misunderstanding of contentment is causing many of us to hold back the growth of our calling. Some think contentment means complacency. However, Biblical contentment means that during the ups and downs of pursuing your calling, you have an internal joy and peace that result in increased success in your calling.

After many years of working and talking with Christians, many times I am asked, "Why has prosperity not come to me yet?" They tell me how they love and serve God but just cannot seem to achieve prosperity. They see the pastors prospering, but their life looks nothing like what the pastors are preaching or living. We teach a lot about being focused in your calling. However, there are seasons that require you to divide your focus between a day job and your calling. In those seasons, it is not a lack of faith to do both—if it is directed by God. As Christians, at times, we are timid in declaring why our business is great for the job to potential clients. We do this because of a false sense of humility. We don't want to sound as though we are bragging or come off as prideful. However, when you have the opportunity to pitch your business (or yourself) to a client, don't hold back. Boldly present your credentials and how you will solve the client's problems. If Jesus was bold to declare that He was the way to salvation, we should boldly declare that our business is the way to solve a client's problems.

According to the Bible, the one thing that opens the door to all evil is the love of money. Now, most people think that this sin can only be committed by people with money. However, this is far from the truth. The love of money can be committed by anyone, believer or nonbeliever, and those involved in entrepreneurial pursuits need to be more careful than others not to fall into the love of money trap.
