My version of 'tough love' is comin out in this episode in hopes that it helps drive you into inspired and aligned action. We hear 'flowy business' so much in the online space and while I feel that's SO possible, it also isn't possible ALL the time or in the very beginning stages of business (for most people). In this episode I'm sharing my beginning journey and how I had to get resourceful AF when shit simply wasn't working for me. I followed the process my upline taught me in my network marketing company and when it felt unaligned and out of date, I didn't quit or complain that "this just doesn't work." I figured it out. I asked questions. I got curious. I googled A LOT. And I didn't place blame OR praise on other people for why I was or wasn't having the success I wanted. I took radical responsibility and showed up when it wasn't convenient and when I didn't feel like it. I 100% believe you can have a flowy business, but it's gonna take a little bit of grit & perseverance (okay, A LOT a bit) to get to that point; and I'd hate for you to think you're doing something 'wrong' because it's been a hard season for you. You're NOT doing anything wrong. It is just part of the path to success in entrepreneurship. TRIGGER WARNING: Miscarriage mentioned Last Thursday my husband and I anxiously sat in the OBGYN's office waiting to hear when we could start trying for a baby again. It has been six months since my miscarriage and because of the type of pregnancy I had, we were told we might have to wait 6-12 months to start trying again. So when the doctor walked in and immediately exclaimed, "NOW"... I was at first confused (not realizing what he meant lol) and then elated. But pretty quickly I realized my husband, while incredibly happy, also had this cloud of deep sadness around him. Because every good thing that happens to us right now is bittersweet because we can't tell his dad who passed away in March of this year. In this episode we discuss... I talk about how I dealt with seeing friends get pregnant and have babies during this time, how I handled the waves of grief, and how I showed up (or didn't) for work during this time. It's a slippery slope when we identify solely with what makes us money or what brings us accolades, achievement, recognition, etc. The highs are OH so high, but the lows? Well they can really rock us to our core. Entrepreneurship is a rollercoaster already, but when we fully identify with our business and are only happy if things are going the way we want them to, then we're setting ourselves up for a lot of unnecessary heartache. I have shared all year how much I've changed in my business; how it looks completely different today than it did a few years ago when I was making a shit ton of $$, but on the verge of burnout. And what I've realized over the last few weeks? Not much has TRULY changed. Because sure, my product suite looks a little different and the way I've been selling has tweaked a bit (way less live launching, more BTS selling + funnel creation). But my approach and THINKING when it comes to making $$ and creating offers hasn't. "What will bring in money and what do I think my audience wants/needs?" ↑That's what has been driving everything for me this year. VS… "What do I feel SO called to share? Where do my passions lie, and what…at this moment, is my mission?" ↑THIS is what my next level self is ready for. No more creating offers just because I know they'll sell. No more launching programs just because I've put a lot of time/energy/resources into them. My husband Mike and I decided to take on a little end of the year challenge, and create our own version of Andy Frisella's, "75 Hard." We decided to modify ours because our intention for doing this challenge is to connect more together while in a very busy season of life. It's that time of year again my friend! Before you know it, it'll be the day after the USA Thanksgiving and the Black Friday sales will be ON. 💰Day 3 is all about Appropriately PRICING Your Offer "How do I price my offer?" ↑Hands down one of the most debated and stressed over questions out there in the online space. In today's training I'm helping you pick a starting price for your offer by considering three factors: 1: The industry frames of reference for different offers. There's no rule for how to price, but there are guidelines — and I'll give them to you here. 2: How to design a payment plan that works for everyone who's right for your offer 3: Adapting your offers to the economy & world changes that affect your audience: Discussing downsells, payment plans, and evergreen vs open close cart offers SELLING THE OFFER BONUS: Real life examples of effectively selling different price point offers at the same time. Pricing can be a tricky egg. You want to take your client and their lifestyle into consideration, of course and make it as fair as possible. Have you ever heard of entrepreneur burnout? It's the reason so many business owners end up quitting their businesses and going back to their nine-to-five jobs. The problem with entrepreneurship is the sense of responsibility that comes with it. If your clients message you late at night or on the weekend, you can answer them, so why wouldn't you? Normal business hours are a thing of the nine-to-five, right? You can be available. You can be helpful. And if they've trusted you with their business, it's easy to feel like you owe them that availability. Guess what? You don't. And I'll go one step further—you shouldn't offer it. Why? Because you will end up burning out to the point that you aren't able to effectively help anyone. Update: the idea of nonstop hustle is a total scam. We are not machines, friends, and it's time we stop treating ourselves like one! When we're deep in that entrepreneur life, it not only becomes easy to forget to take a break...it becomes easy to forget HOW to take a break. When our business goes everywhere with us, it can be such a slippery slope to losing that healthy separation between life and work. After all, we're our own bosses—we're approving our own time-off requests, and when your business isn't contained to a desk or an office, it becomes so easy to say, "Well, I'll just take an hour in the morning to work..." or "I'll just answer this message real fast, then I'll be able to relax..." or "It's just ONE CALL..." That's not a break, friends. That's just working somewhere else. It's time to get intentional about learning to take breaks...and how to do it without that all-consuming productivity guilt. We've gotten so used to hearing that phrase from life coaches, Disney movies, and all other sources of "inspiration" that it's almost lost all meaning by now. But what does it really look like to follow your heart, especially in business, when you're so often told that business is the one thing you need to use your head for over your heart? Today, I'm sharing a recent endeavor where I chose to follow my head over my heart. And even though it went well and I was happy with the results, I have some regrets about doing it instead of taking the risk and doing the thing I REALLY wanted to do. Everyone has a quarantine story to tell. When everything shut down in 2020, we all found ourselves in different circumstances. Some of us had great experiences; others really struggled. For me, it was a definite mix of both. I was separated from my husband, drinking two glasses of wine—okay, fine, THREE glasses of wine—a day to cope, and I didn't even have my sweet puppy to snuggle. That was capital R rough. But I also got some really precious bonding time with my mom, got some much-needed reflection time with myself, and took plenty of long, romantic walks—with myself—to the beach. But life didn't stop at quarantine, and the timeline of change since has been utterly mind-boggling. We've talked a lot about throwing away the common idea of a timeline, but life since COVID has truly taught me that lesson all over again. So today, I'm sharing my COVID story. No holding back; just a heart-to-heart that I need to share. And if I need to share it, then I'm sure at least one of you needs to hear it. Today I'm talking about something I have been looking forward to for a long time. I really trusted my gut and I launched in a completely different way than I usually do. I technically have had larger profit launches, but I am so excited about the way we launched AND the way I've structured this particular offer. I really do enjoy live launching, but it got to the point where it was just exhausting doing it ALL THE TIME in one specific way…so I knew that I had to change up my strategy. For my launch, I decided to lean into the areas I enjoy including- Podcasting- creating offer-specific episodes Lives- showing up honestly and talking about the offer Emails- writing emails that highlight the mastermind and provide value I also utilized face-to-camera videos in Instagram stories to build that level of trust with my audience. Another tactic I used was private invites. And this is where I almost went back and changed my offer. I second-guessed what I was offering but I really leaned into what felt right with my level of energy available for my clients.
