It's a slippery slope when we identify solely with what makes us money or what brings us accolades, achievement, recognition, etc. The highs are OH so high, but the lows? Well they can really rock us to our core. Entrepreneurship is a rollercoaster already, but when we fully identify with our business and are only happy if things are going the way we want them to, then we're setting ourselves up for a lot of unnecessary heartache. In this episode I talk about how I've come to find this inner peace for honestly the first time in my entire life and a huge reason is I don't equal my worth to my business success anymore. I have shared all year how much I've changed in my business; how it looks completely different today than it did a few years ago when I was making a shit ton of $$, but on the verge of burnout. My husband Mike and I decided to take on a little end of the year challenge, and create our own version of Andy Frisella's, "75 Hard." We decided to modify ours because our intention for doing this challenge is to connect more together while in a very busy season of life. 💰Day 3 is all about Appropriately PRICING Your Offer "How do I price my offer?" ↑Hands down one of the most debated and stressed over questions out there in the online space. In today's training I'm helping you pick a starting price for your offer by considering three factors: 1: The industry frames of reference for different offers. There's no rule for how to price, but there are guidelines — and I'll give them to you here. 2: How to design a payment plan that works for everyone who's right for your offer 3: Adapting your offers to the economy & world changes that affect your audience: Discussing downsells, payment plans, and evergreen vs open close cart offers SELLING THE OFFER BONUS: Real life examples of effectively selling different price point offers at the same time. Pricing can be a tricky egg. You want to take your client and their lifestyle into consideration, of course and make it as fair as possible. Have you ever heard of entrepreneur burnout? It's the reason so many business owners end up quitting their businesses and going back to their nine-to-five jobs. Everyone has a quarantine story to tell. When everything shut down in 2020, we all found ourselves in different circumstances. Some of us had great experiences; others really struggled. For me, it was a definite mix of both. I was separated from my husband, drinking two glasses of wine—okay, fine, THREE glasses of wine—a day to cope, and I didn't even have my sweet puppy to snuggle. That was capital R rough. But I also got some really precious bonding time with my mom, got some much-needed reflection time with myself, and took plenty of long, romantic walks—with myself—to the beach. But life didn't stop at quarantine, and the timeline of change since has been utterly mind-boggling. We've talked a lot about throwing away the common idea of a timeline, but life since COVID has truly taught me that lesson all over again. So today, I'm sharing my COVID story. Today I'm talking about something I have been looking forward to for a long time. I really trusted my gut and I launched in a completely different way than I usually do. I technically have had larger profit launches, but I am so excited about the way we launched AND the way I've structured this particular offer. I really do enjoy live launching, but it got to the point where it was just exhausting doing it ALL THE TIME in one specific way…so I knew that I had to change up my strategy. For my launch, I decided to lean into the areas I enjoy including- Podcasting- creating offer-specific episodes Lives- showing up honestly and talking about the offer Emails- writing emails that highlight the mastermind and provide value I also utilized face-to-camera videos in Instagram stories to build that level of trust with my audience. Another tactic I used was private invites. And this is where I almost went back and changed my offer. Today's Heart to Heart episode goes deep into something personal to me and I'm excited to share my thoughts. Alcohol has become such a social activity, an escape and so deeply ingrained in our culture, that it's hard to imagine being completely alcohol-free. I went completely alcohol-free for 4 months this year and it was a really interesting experience. I didn't expect much, because I wasn't drinking that often before…but it was a big enough difference that I really noticed. The fogginess was gone, my sleep was deeper and more refreshing and I just felt better as a whole. I talk about my journey to introducing it again and how I'm feeling now about the whole process. I'm also going to talk about the pressure to be productive and how I try to manage and preserve my energy in healthy ways. This is something I talk about a lot with my students. The temptation to work constantly and burn yourself out is there. It's important to take a hard look at what productivity really is and how you can accomplish the important things without losing too much energy in the process. Doubling your income, you say? Sounds great, until you think about all the time and energy it'll take. Especially if you're working as a coach, there's only so much of you to go around. And I say that as someone who loves coaching and believes it to be my literal purpose. But when your job is to give of yourself all day, it can take its toll. The amount of empathy, understanding, and guidance it takes to lead someone on a journey to wellness, be that physical, financial, or mental, is vast and also, finite. At some point, you only have so much energy to dedicate to your clients when you're working with them in a one-on-one space. That's why we'll talk more in this episode about: How to gauge if you're ready for multiple offers What those offers can look like How to develop them without reinventing the wheel Figuring out ways you can lean into whatever is leading people to you and results is key in finding other things to offer. It's figuring out what you're already great at, throwing in a little snippet of your larger OG program, and adjusting the format to be for a group or self-led. It's taking the framework but changing the picture so that the results are the same, just with a different look. I hope that this episode opens your eyes to what you're completely entitled to as a person and business owner. Ready for a heavy heart-to-heart this Friday? In the interest of being completely open and vulnerable with you (aka the point of these episodes) I'll start off by admitting that the past week was straight up not a good time for me. It got me thinking about how to keep going (or maybe not) with your business when you're in it. You know it right? Nothing goes right, everything feels hard, and lest we forget there seems to be almost daily reminders that the world at large is on fire. It can feel so overwhelming and so disorienting that sometimes the answer is to stop. Take a break. That's why on this episode I go more into: The week from hell I've had and how it affected my work How to prioritize yourself and not feel bad about it I think a lot of us who have our own businesses reached a point of success because we are determined and focused. This is great most of the time, but it can also mean that we have a hard time realizing we don't just need to keep going to get through it.
