#138 A personal story - Where do our beliefs come from
Where do our beliefs come from A personal story I wanted to share a personal story of some recent work I did with myself and more specifically the beliefs that came up that I wasn't expecting. I'll also share what happened as I worked through them. Come with me and hear this story of experiencing of not so nice feeling and how I communicated with it and my unconscious mind and how they communicated with me. Where do these beliefs come from and when I thought about it I could remember (more unconscious communication I guess) and how they continued to effect me - until now. I think, as you listen, my story will resonate within you and guide you to resolve what needs resolving. We go into the positive intention below and behind these limiting beliefs. I hope you both or the both of you, enjoy and learn something important. If you do please share with me your experience by emailing me at [email protected] Shine brightly Paul Please remember you can leave a comment or email me with questions, requests and feedback. FMQ 255 The one thing that creates everything
The one thing that creates everything The next two questions are going to change your life. Another big statement but one that's true. We've talked about creating dreams, wishes and letting go of issues and this is no exception and the reason I keep doing it is for you to find your real voice and make it sing!!!! Everybody and their wife seem to be on social media giving advice as to the best morning routine and the like and I'm not sure of them actually practicing what they preach but I feel something is missing from the message. If I'm right and you do what I discuss here and ask yourself these two questions - Please write them down There you go, now all you have to do is listen (with pen and paper in hand) and find your voice and success. All in 8 minutes of a five minute quickie podcast. Shine brightly Paul Please remember you can leave a comment or email me with questions, requests and feedback. FMQ 254 Hypnotic spice
Hypnotic spice Hypnosis to spice up your life So what does all this mean? Well, from wasting a little time watching a cookery program I had a mini Ah Ha! moment. Isn't it strange where and what creates them? So inspired I went to the mike and recorded the hypnosis track to have your unconscious mind 'spice' up the things that you do so you get to taste the richness of life. It's best that you listen to this episode before experiencing the hypnosis so both your conscious and unconscious minds are aligned to the making of your waking day filled with................... As you will have guessed I love hypnosis and what it can do for you and it would be really kind and nice if you would let me know of your experiences by emailing them to [email protected] Hey and if you really want to pay it forward please share this to your friends and help grow this 'unplugged' community that is making a difference to the world we live in. #137 Love and appreciation
Love and appreciation A case study that showed we push away what we want the most. Come with me to find how even secondary gain, getting things from an issue or problem, eventually will not get you the rewards you want. And How we need to do the very things we want from others. Confusing? Well all will become clear when you listen to me recall how when working with a lovely client we discovered how even taking drugs had a wonderful positive intention and created a powerful conflict that was so debilitating and effected so much in a life yet when realised disappeared so quickly. We also realised how we can achieve that positive intention so easy in so many different ways when our unconscious mind and our conscious mind are aligned to that intention but in a healthy way. Still confused? You won't be after you listen I promise - the Cloughie Unplugged promise :0) When you have listened why not let me know your thoughts, learnings or experience from this by emailing me right away at [email protected] Let's speak again real soon Shine brightly Paul Please remember you can leave a comment or email me with questions, requests and feedback. FMQ 253 Living to your potential
Living to your potential A five minute quickie podcast We go all things 'faking it until to you make it' to living your potential. and all in just a few minutes. Can it be done - you bet - and why is all this important. You may have heard my previous podcasts where I rant on about the lie of 'Faking it until you make it' and how if you're not living to your potential then you are - faking it! Thanks to Todd Herman for putting the idea into my brain. From Todd Herman's make seed I make one subtle change and it made so much sense. Well so much sense to me :0) Have a listen and see/hear/feel if it does to you too. Shine brightly Paul Please remember you can leave a comment or email me with questions, requests and feedback. #136 Make this a habit
Make this a habit And as usual it will change your life (for the good if not great) I was reminded of this topic by a recent client and when I get to it you will go Oh! I do but you're probably, if you're like me, in a subtle state of denial. You see from the moment of our conception, well at the very least our first breath, we've chosen everything we do, have done or will do and I'm not saying consciously but unconsciously using the wisdom and experience that we have at that moment. Taking this out a little further it means everything that happens in our life we're responsible and hence we create our reality. Yes I know there are others creating their reality and they collide with us but we still choose to react or act when we collide. What a responsibility :) In order to make these choices and make them good ones we really need to keep in mind the goals or outcomes in that given context (hey this is deep Cloughie) Let me explain - well being a podcast you'll have to listen but you will hear something that will create the best choice. I'll explain why we swerve making this choice and how to get on track in the direction of those goals/dreams/wishes etc. and all this came from a client who wanted to be ....................... I'd love to know what your experiences are and what you took away from listening to this. Just a simple email to me personal [email protected] As a way of appreciation I'd also love you to share this to as many people as you know, well a couple or more, and especially a review at iTunes, Apple music or any other platform of your choosing ( or all of them ) Shine brightly Paul Please remember you can leave a comment or email me with questions, requests and feedback. FMQ 251 You're unique - really???
You're unique - really??? You hear this - that you are UNIQUE- and I guess you dismiss it because well ....... everyone says it but do they mean it or are they just saying it because it sounds nice? In this five minute Quickie podcast (12 minutes 7 seconds actually - just get lost in my words and time flies ) I'll take from the nice bit to something superhuman. I'll show you examples of people like you, like me (please like me) and see how we are unique in that we are all superhuman with superhuman powers. Sounds impossible doesn't it - you'll see :) I'll even show you how to capture your 'super-humanness' and use it for Good with a capital 'G' And no you don't need your cape. FMQ 250 Why do we always expect a no
Why do we always expect a no and how do we get over expecting a no because you can Forget that old 'self sabotage' that's just an effect and we can deal with that too! You see we stop ourselves doing stuff - that technical term again - because we think we don't do what we want to do because we expect someone will not accept us, say a no, we'll fail or any other excuse. That's right EXCUSE, you heard me right. We make up these excuses with a wonderful positive intention but only to create a conflict between that intention and what we do or don't do - our behavior. Come with me to dive quickly and deeply to find the simple way(s) to change this and actually get great results. It only takes 15 minutes and 11 seconds in this 5 minute podcast :) As always please share this and all/any of the previous episodes of this podcast and make a difference. And As a favor can I ask you to leave a nice review on iTunes/apple/google play or any number of platforms of your choice because that would be a great way to pay this forward. #135 Getting help (mental health)
Getting help (To Good Mental Health) Oh how I hate the term mental health issues but I guess it's here to stay. It seems all I hear about on podcasts, radio, tv and everywhere else is that more and more people are getting anxious over mental health issues - with anxiety being a major player in those issues ( so a little self propelling). I'm also hearing some terrible advice from well meaning people but nevertheless bad advice. So................ I wanted to share my thoughts, advice and personal experiences which will, I believe, allay those fears and give you (if you're suffering) or someone you know who is suffering the encouragement to deal with it and how easy and comfortably you can resolve these issues. When I say issues I mean all issues from addictions, depression, fears, anxiety, social phobia, OCD - Oh you go fill in the blank :) The thing is you may not be experiencing and of those symptoms, and I hope you never will, but if you do this information will be a nugget to keep in your back pocket 'just in case'. Hey you may notice a friend or colleague acting out of sorts and you may be the one person to give or share this advice and make a huge difference to what might have been. What I'm trying to say is LISTEN ANY WAY As usual I'd love your feedback on this or any other episode plus if there is something more specific you would like more information use the same email address [email protected] Shine brightly Paul Please remember you can leave a comment or email me with questions, requests and feedback. FMQ 249 The art of the language of Love
The art of the language of Love A five minute Quickie podcast When you learn the art of the language of love your relationship with your partner/husband/wife/significant other will be enhanced beyond your imagination. Here's the thing - we all understand how we know when we're loved and we think everyone understands this in the same way (like we do) but there's a big BUT WE DON'T Would you like to know how to find out how to communicate your love for someone in a way they get it, know it, and most importantly FEEL IT So if that's a big fat YES then have a listen. It's simple when you know and I'll explain it simply so you can reap the benefits of your love for others. As always let me know how you do by emailing me at [email protected] Shine brightly Paul Please remember you can leave a comment or email me with questions, requests and feedback. FMQ 248 A gift - Experience being in the moment
Experience being in the moment For once a 5 minute 5 minute Quickie Podcast This is pure experiential and not hypnosis because this includes seeing, hearing and feeling (even taste and smell) and literally experiencing being in the now - this very moment - Awesome If you can do this outside (in nature ) all the better but please do not worry if you're not. The great thing is you can use this as many times as you like and the more you get used to it you will create a wonderful habit. And the affect ............ Well you just have to do it :) Shine brightly Paul Please remember you can leave a comment or email me with questions, requests and feedback. #134 Me feeling a failure - and how I am dealing with it
Me feeling a failure - and how I am dealing with it I guess we all feel like a failure at some time or other - don't we?? Or maybe it's only me. I'm sharing something a little personal in the hope that if you feel like I felt or ever do in the future you will have some strategies, processes to deal with it. I'm sure I'll think of other new ways to help in the future and will, as usual share them with you, but right now here's what I got :O) Come with me a dive into a small bit of my personal thoughts of my personal feelings and beliefs that I think I've dealt with in a kinda good way. I'm sure you will learn something, even if it's only for a friend feeling a similar way or maybe a closer friend than you know already. Please feel free to share this or any episode, in fact it's a brilliant way to pay it forward and the thing is you will never know how far the effect of your sharing will go - and that's amazing! FMQ 247 Learning by forgetting
Learning by forgetting The 5 minute quickie podcast that actually lasts 18 minutes (sorry I got carried away) You don't know how much you don't know until you really begin to learn more and more and as you will know from FMQ 246 (you have listened to it haven't you?) your learning potential is limitless. Yet one of the problems of learning something new, well in my personal experience, is that I usually start with comparing what I already know to in the new information before I've really understand it. Do you find that the case with you? I hope I'm not the only one :O( The thing is that in order to add new stuff I think we need to 'park' what we know so we can LEARN NEWLY. We need to temporarily forget what we know already, other that to understand this new 'STUFF' (technical word for new stuff) so we can fully take on the learnings and only when we understand this new 'stuff' we compare it with what we already know. The thing is, this is so simple to say yet in reality can be difficult to do because of our biases already formed by the old ' stuff'. But let's remember what old Albie Einstein said "in simplicity there is GENIUS" and discover ways to do this parking of what we already know and to learn newly because as you know I will never leave you hanging without a 'how to'. I've also added in a suggestion from listening to a great guy Jim Kwik, if you haven't heard of him Google him or see his YouTube videos, which I think when added to my suggestions give a rich set of ways you can grow. I'd love to think you get more than one take away from this (and my other episodes) and would really appreciate your feed back on what they are and how they affected your life. Also constructive feedback on how I can improve or subject matter is so dearly sort from you. My email for all of this is [email protected] Shine brightly Paul Please remember you can leave a comment or email me with questions, requests and feedback. FMQ 246 You can never not know more
You can never not know more A five minute podcast that lasts 12 There are so many Bs beliefs we tell ourselves to not do things or maybe more importantly learn new things. I'm to old I'm to set in my ways You can't teach an old dog new tricks You get the picture And each one limits our potential because YOU can never not know more - it's a fact that we sometimes try to deny but will always fail. Come with me and in the next 12 minutes we'll discover that your potential is limitless and all you have to do is.............. Well you'll have to listen and find out :O) Shine brightly Paul Please remember you can leave a comment or email me with questions, requests and feedback. #133 Follow - find your passion Pt2
Follow - find your passion Pt2 Or we could include re-connecting with your calling - Hmmmmmmmm That's exciting :O) Yep, following on from podcast #132 I have taken a deeper dive into how we can find, re-charge, re-connect to our natural passion(s) and associate back into those feelings so we can begin, again, to recognise the things that spin the feelings of passion and have more of it. FMQ 244 Sharing what you know
Sharing what you know - a five minute podcast Don't they go on? Who? Someone who's just stopped smoking. Who would want to seen as that person? I guess I did when I first started learning hypnosis and NLP and it really turned people off although I knew and still do there's a gold mine of things people could get the benefit of. So it's got to be done in a caring/sharing communication. So how can we share this golden nugget, this special bit of learning - Well, that's what I'll explain here, All you need to do is come along for this short ride :O) The thing is when you do share in the right way a number of very special things happen: You get to learn it again at a deeper level You get to help and inspire others - show what's possible When you get feedback from sharing to the integrated field of learning I bang on about to get to know even more And you will never know how fall the ripples of your words will go but they will go far and that's an awesome thing to do. #132 Your passion and how to find it
Your passion and how to find it - a longer podcast - Pt 1 Aren't you fed up with people pushing that you have to follow your passion and make it your life's work? Putting so much pressure on you and making you feel bad if you're not. I think when some in this niche of personal development they have an agenda and generally to leans towards their profit. So I've been thinking - Have you Cloughie? Yup! and I want to share with you my thoughts on this subject and how you may be so close to finding your Calling and the passion that goes hand in hand. This is the first part of at least two podcasts in which I hope to discover passion, calling and how to live it not follow it :O) And in those immortal words I quote so often 'IN SIMPLICITY THERE IS GENIUS' we'll find the uncomplicated and simple ways to experience just that. FMQ 243 Is this Ridiculous
Is this Ridiculous? A 5 minute quickie podcast I heard a great question whilst listening to an interview with Chris Voss on the Jordan Harbinger podcast and thought how could we use this to help us get our goals, outcomes and basically anything we dream of. Who first came up with this question I don't know but it's great to hear people sharing gold nuggets of information so freely just like we do here on this personal Development Unplugged podcast Now you know I believe questions - great questions - are a major tool in your personal development armory and this is one to add. If you add this to "What would this issue / goal /outcome look like or be if it was easy to achieve" , kindly shared by Tim Ferriss then we're on a winner. So what's this question Cloughie? I hear you say. Well that my friend is what I'll share with you in this podcast and how we can take it from a business closing question to one we can use anywhere and use it to achieve the success in out lives we, you and I, truly deserve. Talking about sharing - have you shared this podcast to anyone recently? No! well it's high time you did and let's increase this unplugged community. FMQ 242 When personal development gets uncomfortable
When personal development gets uncomfortable Do you ever give up when things get uncomfortable? I have in the past, until I learnt and experienced this. If you knew that when things begin to feel uncomfortable that things were going to get better, bigger, easier and be a quantum leap you'd look forward to it or look for it wouldn't you? So many questions and if you come down this little rabbit hole with me I'll share with you what I have learnt and am still learning :O) It's good stuff and I think you'll get a lot of take aways from this as I hope you do from every episode. Please remember if you do why not share them with me via private email [email protected] and this episode to a friend as you never know how much difference it may make like never knowing how far the ripples of change go. #131 Changing your Bias
Changing your Bias We all have a bias and would it be better to neutralise your bias to become a more balance you? If you could manage your own personal bias to ensure you get the best results - You would wouldn't you - you would - wouldn't you??? When you hear what he definition of cognitive bias you will be shocked! I was and that's why I have looked deeply into how we use our bias and more importantly how it's used by others to influence us. The more I thought about this the more interesting it got, how our internal communication filters towards our bias and how we can effect this to become balanced and in that way ensure the best results for you and create a reality that you really want and enjoy. Lets use our ability to choose and decide for ourselves Come down the rabbit hole with me on this subject and see, hear and feel how far we can go :O) Shine brightly Paul Please remember you can leave a comment or email me with questions, requests and feedback. FMQ 241 It's a bummer
It's a bummer A five minute quickie podcast So what am I calling a bummer? Well - When you are using an excuse and your best friend calls you out on it - that's a bummer :O) You see we believe we can fool some of the people all of the time and all the people some of the time and we even try (notice that horrible word) to fool ourselves and think we can get away with it. I had a friend who wold stand up and be counted because if I dodge a question or was deliberately vague he wouldn't let me get away with it. It made me think and be honest, honest with my self. Whilst that can be a little uncomfortable it really is most enlightening and empowering. Yet why should we put our friends in that difficult position? When we can simply own it and call ourselves out to be honest because we know it anyway. Let's go a little deeper in this - come with me and make a difference. FMQ 240 Either or Radical or counter-intuitive
Either or Radical or counter-intuitive Evolution or revolution? and does it have to either or? We are told, from so many places, we have to be so radical to make a significant change and only being counter-intuitive is the way. Maybe not being radical is actually counter-intuitive Oh it's so messy to think only one way and no doubt, like me, you have seen radical paths can be so destructive because they're not thought through and the only direction is to be radical. That doesn't work yet we do need to think differently to create new things. Come with me to talk about both sides of this line of thinking and see if we can come up with a way or better still ways (plural) and evolve ways to succeed in ourselves and bring others along by example. Please share and make a difference Shine brightly Paul Please remember you can leave a comment or email me with questions, requests and feedback. #130 When focusing goes wrong
When focusing goes wrong A slightly longer podcast There's so much talk about focus and focusing and we've talked about that subject before and no doubt will again BUT this is not about that. You see we all focus and we do it really well - you just don't realize it. So what am I talking about? We have a great skill in/on focusing on the negative, what might go wrong, worst case scenarios and what frightens us then there's behaviors like OCD, phobias and the like. Show me someone with any of these issues and I'll show you how they're constantly focusing on their issue to the exclusion of everything else. Let me explain - Well you'll have to listen because that's the thing about the podcast and I'll also show you ways we can use this skill for good and to enhance your career, goals and life in general. Go on, come with me and see, hear and feel how you can make a difference and what 'take aways' you can gleam. Now I'm trying too hard! Last FMQ (238) we dived into "Trying" and how that really doesn't work. This episode let's look at the other side of the issue of trying and it's in the title TOOOOO hard :O) You see what can happen when you change from trying to committing to being and doing we can experience overwhelm - And we thought this was going to be easy - Stay with me because it will be - I promise 'Cloughie' promise. Tony Robbins hit the nail on the head when he said "people over-estimate what they can do in the short term and under-estimate what can be achieved in the long term" Come with me again to share my thoughts on how we can really achieve our dreams/goals/wants and needs and feel empowered at the same time. Yup! that's where we go in this Five Minute Quickie Podcast. FMQ 238 I'm trying - really
I'm trying - really A five minute quickie podcast How many times have you (and that include me) said "I'll give it a try" or "I really tried to......" you as usual fill in the blank? I hear this in my world of helping people sooooo much. A client often says that they are so desperate to change and they see, hear and feel that I have a way that might support the change they want and that I'm totally committed to help and then they say GREAT! I'll give it a try. A "TRY" - How empty is that? To get what we want and what we deserve we need that I'll do whatever it takes attitude So what's the answer? Well I won't leave you hanging and it's not a secret and it is simple :O) -- Come with me and listen -give it a try :O/ (Tee Hee) I think you will get more than a little gem here and as usual I'd love to here what you heard that made sense, and what didn't, so I can improve and share. #129 Addictions - what are they and what can we do about them?
Addictions - what are they and what can we do about them? "There's no such thing as an addiction" Bold statement I know but stay with me because when you believe what I believe you can CHOOSE. I mean if you had the choice you'd choose not to - wouldn't you? Come with me to see the world just a little bit different. This new way of seeing your world another way, my way, just may be the difference that makes the difference. Don't get me wrong in thinking I'm not recognizing the difficulties in changing or making light of this issue because I treat this area of issues really seriously. Seriously but with an intention to find a way to choose to be how you want to be and not be a slave to ....... well you fill in the blank. I'm keeping this narrative quite vague on purpose because I want you to dive deeply with me in this podcast because it's important to both of you and me. FMQ 237 Sorry for yourself - you choose
Feeling Sorry for yourself........... It's your choose What generally do we do when things don't go our way? Even the little things - Mostly (we choose to) feel sorry for ourselves or angry. What do we say to ourselves at this time too? "the worlds' against me" "Everything's gone wrong now!" So let's ask the question(s) What bloomin' good does behaving that way, talking that way do or achieve? - Nada! Better question.......... What could I choose to behave better say better things? These questions presume you have a choice And .......... YOU DO! Come and explore this with me in this short podcast and see what we can learn. FMQ 236 When things go wrong
When things go wrong - A five minute quickie podcast When things go wrong it's amazing how we can generalize this into every thing we do or are doing and the effect can be disastrous! So what happens, what do we do when something doesn't go right or the way we want it? What do you say to yourself? What are those dis-empowering words we say and what emotions do the evoke? It all goes 'reels of cotton' Let's go through some times in the past when we did that and learn so we can change the way respond and how that can effect our physiology. You see changing the little things in out lives, changing simply things that generalize to other area of our lives can have a far greater effect than going for the 'biggie'. Let's ask ourselves some different questions and notice it's not that difficult - in fact it's easier than you imagine. Have a listen and enjoy. If you do remember it 's great to send in your feedback as it gets the results to sink in deeper and allows them to be shared and help so many others and that feel great too :O) Shine brightly Paul Please remember you can leave a comment or email me with questions, requests and feedback. #128 Remember the positives because ............
Remember the positives because ............ A longer podcast "You are a product of your experiences" A throw away line in a conversation between Joe Rogan and Sam Harris made me think how much of your experiences do we consider? You see we tend to remember the negative times/events in our life and let that define us. That's totally understandable because of our built-in defense mechanism, our reptilian part of our mind that continues to protect us from all those Sabre Toothed tigers :O) Then I got to think about what would happen if we could take learnings from all the events of our past and use them - then we really would be a total product of our experiences. We've got the best computer in the world on top of our shoulders and in every fibre and muscle so it wouldn't really be a problem to do so. The thing is to get this underway we going to need the help of our conscious mind first and get it to send your unconscious mind in the right direction. "How do we do that?" I hear you ask Have a listen and I'll share with you my thoughts. Talking of sharing please send the word out by sharing the Personal Development Unplugged podcast far and wide - It really will have an effect you couldn't imagine plus it spurs me on more and more. FMQ 235 Careful what you listen to
Careful what you listen to People can be really good hypnotists even when and especially when they haven't been trained to be one. You see sometimes a hypnotist will say one thing and slip in another thing which you don't consciously notice but it goes in all the same. You see I was listening to two people have a nice, deep and meaningful conversation and all was good then I noticed, because I have been trained to do so, heard a few words that just seemed so innocuous yet so powerful and they went in without being notices. You have to be so careful what you listen to or you may be infected by others beliefs which could be totally incorrect yet you may take them on uncritically. This may seem really sinister but if you have a listen you'll hear what was said and understand why I'm bringing it to your attention. So......... have a listen and let me know what you think. You can do that through the special email I set up [email protected] Shine brightly Paul Please remember you can leave a comment or email me with questions, requests and feedback. FMQ 234 What three quarter of a million people didn't get
What three quarter of a million people didn't get And yes there's a process recorded for you to use, download and create so many great things in your life. Did you know some people don't think they can visualize and don't realise when they do? Some think it has to be in 20/20 vision and that can be so far from the truth - I will explain what I think the truth of the quality of your visualizations. I'll start with a little experiment so show you the power of visualizing and the effect it has on our emotions - it's such a great skill even if you think it's too simple. Hey the old 'In simplicity there is genius' means we can use this skill in so many different ways, easily, comfortably and with great effect with so little effort. The thing is this not 'whoo whoo la la' it has a biological background too - the RAS the reticulating activating system From a YouTube video with over 3/4 million watches they missed the one thing that makes this skill work - what a shame :O( and I couldn't let it go. I had to let you know how to do this process with the knowing it's going to be a success. Because I felt so strongly that I didn't want you to miss out I recorded the process so you can do it precisely in your comfort and ease. The perfect morning routine
The perfect morning routine (Ritual) What is the perfect morning routine or maybe the most perfect evening routine? What is /are the most prefect Rituals that start your day or end? There are some many who tell us of what this perfect way to be, if you search the internet/YouTube you'll be over whelmed at the amount of noise in the area. This can be so destructive as when we can't follow these 'Perfect' ways these 'Perfect' Rituals and make us feel so guilty because we fail at being perfect. I am not saying morning routines are wrong because they are really important when we do them our way and even make them - Wait for it - We make them our DAILY ROUTINES and consistently do things that help us grow. Let's use these - well the shining examples - and model what is being shared and adapt it to suit ourselves. I'll share with you a couple of examples from my coaching clients and how we made it totally possible and successful. I'll even share my flexible way that I think will encourage you to find your way and feel empowered! FMQ 233 What's behind a behavior
What's behind a behavior? Let's have a look at the way people behave and how we react to that behavior. Did you know people are not their behaviors? I have learnt so much by this simple presupposition from NLP. People are not stupid they believed stupidly. I am one of the worlds worst at trying to keep myself to myself, I think I can hide it yet all the time I'm communicating exactly how I feel behind my behavior to the outside world. I wonder where you can see this and wonder what's going on below the surface or simply have been doing what I have been doing and sending out all the wrong signals. Maybe places where we can be compassionate to what appears to be a negative behavior ans the cause is really something else and how much of a difference that compassion can make. This might not make perfect sense but if you listen all way through I think you will and it will make a difference to how you are in this world. FMQ 232 The morning after
The morning after - A 5 minute podcast What are the reactions that happen after some deep self work or working with a therapist? They're always the same aren't they? The thing is generally it's different for most people and sometimes different each time and that can worry some people because it's not always what they expect. The saying 'Expect the unexpected' springs to mind' I wanted to take that concern away and share with you some ways I have reacted and ways some of my clients have too. And guess what ? they are all different. I hope you both (not the both of you) enjoy and find this impromptu podcast beneficial and interesting. It was something that caught my thoughts and I decided to record it on the fly do to speak. The one thing that stops you A slightly longer podcast Ever had the experience of doing something on impulse? maybe an Ah Ha moment or a burst of inspiration? They don't seem to choose and come from negative or positive places/events in your life. Can you remember some of yours? I was remembering some of mine and I'll share them with you here and then let's explore how we didn't let obstacles get in our way, we were 'buzzed' and full of unstoppable energy. The thing is they all have one thing, at least one thing, in common and when you get to recognize it and can replicate it we are on a winner. This may seem on the surface to be a bit complicated but if you've been here before you will know we break down the complicated into simple and easy to do steps. It didn't have to be out load, some times that inner voice, even if it's not heard by others the effect is still the same. I wonder how many time with talk to ourselves like this in a single day? For me, I imagine, it's far to many for comfort. There's a presupposition (useful assumption) in NLP that goes like this - People are not their behaviours and people include me and you. Let's have a dive into the effect of this type of self talk because even just thinking this way will be read and understood by others - I'll explain more if you have a few minutes to listen. We'll even explore how to change thins too! FMQ 230 Want a free lunch?
Want a free lunch? There is no free lunch - podcast So join the feast! Inspired by a new podcast about the norms we have to live to and if we really need to live up to norms, who's norms? And some personal stories of moving through my comfort zone, one of which happened yesterday. I really struggled to make a decision on something that to most would be a small step but at the time, for me, was a big step for Cloughie and what happened when I did. This might even get you to think of times when you did something that gave you uncertainty or anxiety and..............? This brought to mind something similar that I remember from 20 years ago that gave me huge doubts about me and if I would cope and my struggle with the invisible barrier of comfort and what happened because f it. It's corny but it's all about the first step in and to an adventure of our dreams and sometimes the silly limiting beliefs that try to protect us, me and you, without knowing what will be missed from the rest of your life and the 'if only'. Reading, watching and knowledge is good but it's not enough all we need if the difference that makes the difference - have a listen and I'll share with you the how as well as the most important why - because that's what we do here :O) Shine brightly Paul Please remember you can leave a comment or email me with questions, requests and feedback. #125 Did you know what you want wants you
Did you know what you want wants you I have always wanted to think, think deeply that is. I look in awe of those that do and the results of their explorations. The weird thing is as I was thinking about my desire to think deeper about subjects a saying my son Joseph will say quite often is 'What you want wants you' and I began to search where this came from, the originator, but to no avail and I got lost in a few memories that I'll share with you that seemed to connect to 'What you want wants you'. Even this recording was to be a short five minute quickie but seemed to get more detailed and more interesting. The conclusion we draw from all of this? .............you'll just have to listen and find out :O) I wonder what stories of your past align with this and I wonder how deep you will go? This also reinforces how to become a master - MASTERY - doing what you know and knowing what you do and build a firm foundation that will guarantee success. Muscle memory - getting these things in the muscle. You will also get to see through the 'fluff' that so many hide the things we already know. So you may want to reflect on what AND how much you actually know!! FMQ 217 Stop trying - It doesn't work
Stop trying - It doesn't work I'm tying: to lose weight, to meditate, to get fit, to find enough time and you can fill in your blank. It all starts with a little word that seems to slip out TRYING. When you take that word out of our vocabulary we can start to lose weight, to meditate, to get fit, to find enough time and you can fill in your blank and there will be no doubt because you have decide to do it. No more excuses of TRYING. You decide how much effort you put into getting the results you want. It could all boil down to being more specific - more specificity :O) and how much importance or value we decide. Or even take if further ad in the word expect!!!!! To help you with all of this remember those free hypnosis programes you can get right here There's more here you just have to listen and then DO! FMQ 216 The secret of controlLing your results
The secret of controlling your results Let's take control of the results we get and take responsibility for them and the empowerment that come with that. I heard the other day that you cannot control the results you get and when I heard it I said out loud REALLY!!!!!! Now that is the best of worst limiting beliefs and defies the the law of cause and effect. Simply change your belief and that statement falls down because it's not true. Now I know I titled this 'The Secret' but it isn't really a secret it's as usual, hiding in plain sight like most of what we miss. There's a word I'm currently in love with - Specificity - It's a great word and makes such a difference when we, yep me as well, remember to use it. When we don't we get generalities and generalities when used with skill and direction can make wonderful changes but not here in the subject of results. Even if we only use SMART goals you get to have more control but take it to another level with NLP's 'Well Formed Outcome' and you're in real business. Oh! I just happen to have at least three hypnosis tracks that specifically meet this such as #92.1 Hypnosis working backwards from your goal and, you've got it, #91.2 hypnosis -well formed outcome and goal YAY!!!!!!!!!!! To get them along with around 40 others go to paulcloughonline.com/podcast - They're FREE Shine brightly Paul Please remember you can leave a comment or email me with questions, requests and feedback. #123 The wheel of buckets and pillars podcast
The wheel of buckets and pillars a longer podcast What are you not succeeding in? maybe not performing at your best at? Are there areas, sections of your life that are just not as good as you would like? Hmmmmmmmmm. Over the years I have found a few ways to find just where you need to improve and I'll go through them with you here in this podcast. The thing is most of the the processes taught don't atually give you a how to make them better when you discover them - That's where the PDU podcast comes to the rescue like the Lone Ranger, Luke Skywalker or even Rocky Balboa (thnk I'm going off the plot now) Yep, we'll go through things like the wheel of life, the 3 buckets and the 5 pillars all I have to say are awesome metaphors and I do suggest you read about them for yourselves. We'll also go through some 'HOW TOO's' to work with any of these models to make the changes these show up for you. You may decide to choose one of these models that feels and resonates and seeing the right way for you or as I would suggest use all three as I believe they each compliment each other and will give you a richer picture of where you are and how best to follow the 'How Too's' I suggest. I really feel there is a richness of discovery here waiting for you to uncover and take responsibility to make the changes that create even more than you can imagine - Now there's a nice thought - :O) As I say in the podcast, I'm sure this will be a 2 parter or maybe even a three it all depends on you and your feedback. You may have to return to this a second time as you progress on your chosen model (or all two or three). As I say your feedback is important and you can catch me on Twitter @pcloughie or by email [email protected] Shine brightly Paul Please remember you can leave a comment or email me with questions, requests and feedback.
